We had a really pleasant stay at the Bayfront Inn! You honestly cannot beat the location right on the Embarcadero. What really stood out was how incredibly nice and welcoming the staff was. From check-in to check-out, they were genuinely friendly and helpful. Another huge perk is that they give you a voucher for a free, delicious fresh-baked cinnamon bun at the cafe next door in the morning. The rooms are a bit older and on the smaller side, which is the only reason for the 4-star rating instead of 5. However, everything was clean, comfortable, and well worth it. We would definitely stay here again! Almost forgot: Parking can be an issue when have local events because it is around popular spots. Parking is free, however, and they give you a parking pass to place on window. read more

Stayed there for 3 days two nights tv never worked walls were cracking had a weird smell the faucets lost water pressure room was never serviced beautiful view tho and close to the pier but other then that parking was tricky because there's no designated parking it's a free for all overpriced for the entire stay if you looked up in you're room you will dust bunnies everywhere we removed the bed sheets and pillow cases and found stains everywhere read more

It was just me and 2 smaller dogs so I found the king deluxe room perfect for us. It's not a 5 star hotel, but if you're looking for a basic, clean room with a comfortable bed, this will work. RM 10 came with a view of the Rock and ocean, which was a nice surprise. There is no ac unit or heater, but there is a ceiling fan, another window fan if you choose and a small portable heater. It was about 50 degrees when I was there and the little heater actually warmed the room up pretty quickly. There is a café next door and several restaurants right across the street. It's a nice walk to the beach. Lots of parking available as well. $32 pet fee per stay so it's reasonable. The price is also affordable. I paid $82 (tax/fees included) for a Sunday. Can't beat that price for probably the closest hotel to the beach and the view. Would stay here again. read more

Stayed here for a few nights on our most recent trip to Morro Bay. Reasonably priced, great location for downtown Morro Bay, easy (and free) parking, and allows dogs. That being said, the place is definitely run-down. Our shower was old and cracking in places. But it was clean, had a refrigerator, and checked off all the above boxes on our list. Is it the nicest place to stay? No. But it was still nice, meet everything we wanted in this stay, and we had a comfortable time. Would stay here again on our next trip to Morro Bay. read more

Price is horrible! Paid over 430 for 3 rooms that area in terrible disrepair. peeling walls, chipped furniture, dirty floors, bathrooms, owner is terribly rude when confronted about these issues! If I could give this place a -5 stars I would !! DO NOT STAY HERE!! 1st room they tried giving us was filthy and there were stains on the pillows. They gave us a diffrent room and that room was barley cleaned, ants crawling around and it had a wierd smell. We immediately went down within 5 minutes of checking in and asked for a refund and the old man said "no way, I can't do that and you are insulting me by this" I told him it is the California law that if a room is filthy you can ask for a refund. He responded with your not getting your money back and good luck at small claims court. We were stuck with staying in the small, half cleaned room with very low water pressure for two nights. So hopefully I can help the next person with this insight. read more

Not What I Expected. Disappointing Stay. The view was lovely, but that's where the charm ended. The photos online were misleading. What looked sleek and modern turned out to be shabby and neglected. The room reeked of cheap disinfectant (think nursing home vibes), and there was no closet, just a random bar and shelf. The bathroom vent was clogged with lint, which isn't ideal for someone with asthma. The manager handed me a vacuum to clean it myself--so... service? Beware of paying upfront; I did, and I was told there were no refunds, even after I complained. There was also a power outage overnight, and an alarm blared for an extended time. Some other guests were screaming at each other in different rooms to "shut the f$#@ up!" At least I didn't get bed bugs, so that's a win? read more

We have stayed here previously and loved it. We requested a king bed, when we checked in they gave us a double, got to the room and it looked like a cave, went down to request a room change and there was no one around, called the number on the door and they said all rooms were booked, obviously a lie! Not one single room was occupied because all the rooms were not locked and we actually went into them. Went to dinner, came back and there were ants on the night stand, called again and once again they said all booked, walked down and opened every door. Called back and they wouldn't answer! First off, the location is great for walking to the restaurants. Besides that, there's nothing else positive about this place. We pulled back the sheets and found dog hair, long strands of human hair, chunks of god knows what, grass, and yellow/brown stains on each layer of the sheets and blankets. The floor was dirty, the shower leaked no matter how we twisted it, and the walls are extremely thin. I'm very upset that I paid this much for a bed that wasn't even changed before our arrival. It made my skin crawl-- how do they not change the sheets between guests??? I wish I could get my money back. read more

The rooms are never cleaned. The sheets were disgusting with food and hairs and mystery stains. A lot of the stuff in the bathroom was rusted and disgusting. Their rooms are tiny. The walls are paper thin and the owner/manager was very rude. I wanted a refund and didn't want to stay the second night because I was so disgusted. This was a terrible place to go when we got there I went to wash my hands and the water barely trickled out hot. When I went to tell the manager, he took off the filter, but it did not help. I told him it wasn't up to our standard and we wanted our money back I handed him the keys and he locked us out! and said go to Booking.Com and get your money back. This place was absolutely disgusting.. it was my first time booking a different hotel here at Morro Bay the reviews seemed great online but once we got there even checking in became a hassle.. There's a major language barrier between front desk workers which i don't mind.. but then we get to our room and it was 184$ for a small ass room.. I mean come on other places charge less for nicer rooms. It was my anniversary with my Husband and i was in my hotel room scrubbing the floors of dirt and grime.. We used to stay here and of course it was the first place I called for our up coming visit. The gentleman seemed very confused about how to book a reservation, but I powered through. I thought maybe he was unfamiliar with the hotel because he seemed very confused about everything.I was on the phone with him for about 15 minutes. I think that I made a reservation, gave him a credit card number, and then decided I would call back in a week or two. I usually talk to a wonderful woman who is extremely fun and helpful. When I called back, it was the same man, and he couldn't even tell me if I had a reservation. He told me to call back in a few months just before I was going to be visiting to see if I had a reservation. What the heck!?!?! I then looked it up, it seems that the nice woman who used to own the hotel sold it, TWO YEARS AGO to a man who had extensive hotel experience. Not a chance. We stayed here twice and had a great experience, so we tried a third time -- and got ripped off. First, we paid extra for a room "with a patio view," but this room has no patio (or microwave, but that's besides the point). The loudly leaking faucet would probably have been enough to keep us awake, but because of the room's acoustics and placement, we also had to listen to SLAMMING DOORS all day and night. For some reason, each slam anywhere else in the complex was bad enough to shake the walls, like this part of the hotel was about to collapse. This room is obviously unfit for guests, but that didn't stop them from charging us $170 a night for a night of noise and no sleep. I also saw in other reviews that they like to tack on extra "cleaning fees". Well, we left our room clean and took pictures, so if you try to rip us off, we'll see you in court. read more

Wasn't able to stay due to incorrect information and not being able to check in. Every time I call during business hours after 4pm the office never answers. I left a message for check in immediately after I made my reservation, no answer. After calling 5 times I left a message. This was Monday, March 6. To this day Haven't received a callback. Don't let the pictures fool you. Morro Bay is beautiful and right out front is beautiful. I'd give a zero rating if possible. This place is disgusting and dirty. Complete and total waste of $175 mid week for a room that was so disgusting we actually didn't even stay in it, went down the street tons decent hotel. Bed sheets were never cleaned from previous guests, see pictures. Bugs, hair, blood on pillow cases, sheets, and comforter. Makeup smeared on pillow cases. Fan hasn't been dusted in forever. Absolutely disgusting! Wouldn't send my worst enemy here. Very dirty and shouldn't be allowed to rent rooms they are that dirty, will be reporting to the proper authorities. On a trip up the coast, we stayed overnight at the Bayfront Inn. We checked in before sunset to our room on the top floor which had a partial view of the waterfront area. I forgot my toothbrush at home, so I wanted to buy one on check-in - but they just offered it to me to free. I was really impressed with the fast check in and the surroundings. It's a small Inn, but colorful and comfortable. The room was small but decent and had everything we needed. It was clean and a great location in the town to all the restaurants and shops. It's a dog friendly hotel, but our room showed no signs of pets - just clean and comfortable. This is a nice little place in a great location with decent prices and great customer service. If you are looking for a barebones , bed and bathroom + somewhere to lay your head this place is it. I love the location and the fact that they are dog friendly so we were able to bring our fur babies with us. The rooms themselves are small and our bed wasn't as comfy as I am used to but I could deal with it so I don't have to find a dog sitter or worry about the girls when we are out. I love being able to bring them and almost every person I saw there had a pooch. There is a cool little sitting area out front and you have easy access to the beach, shops and restaurants. They even leave a little goody bag for the doggos and have bowls out for them which is dope. I would stay here again if I was planning to bring the puppers. read more

Reservation states room number I selected on purpose because it was upstairs but when I go to check in no one there, and then when they finally show up I'm told that room is not available. I recently stayed at the Inn. The location is good in proximity to restaurants and the downtown embarcadero area .... but it is behind another building. There are maybe 1 or 2 rooms with a view from the actual room, and the rooms are extremely small. The furniture was old and dirty. The bed was hard, not a pillowtop, as described. I do not recommend this place for the price you pay and deceiving info on the descriptions. The only good thing was that you get free cinnamon rolls from the bakery right in front . Negative stars....this place is a disaster. Reserved 2 rooms from hotels.com. During check in the manager could only find one reservation. I showed him my confirmation numbers and emails for 2 rooms. He said I was only charged for one room by 3rd party vendor. My mom ended up paying for an additional room. At 7pm we see a notice on the manager's door saying sorry you missed check in. They list a 3rd room, #7. It's unlocked- lights on with keys on the night stand. The next morning we asked about the over charge since they obviously found my other reservation. He said that he didn't charge me, Hotels.com did. He accommodated us with 3 rooms and needs to get paid. Even though we only needed two rooms. Anyway, the rooms are filthy, the fans don't work. The power is sketchy, we didn't even get hand soap. We ran into other guests in the morning, they had similar experiences booking online. Seriously- don't do it. What a lovely quaint location to spend a few nights on the Embarcadero. Located adjacent to the shops and restaurants, we had nearby food choices ranging from seafood, oysters on the half-shell, Italian, salads, and burgers. The proprietor is friendly, helpful, and a dog lover. We arrived late but found a doggie gift bag and bottle of wine in our room. Our delux room was clean, the bed comfy, and we had a great view of Morro Rock. The location is quiet. There is plenty of parking. We loved the mid century modern decor was pretty cool! The cable TV signal cut out off and on, but there are many cable channels plus HBO. Added bonus: cinnamon rolls every morning from Frankie and Lola's! read more

I am so incredibly bummed right now because we literally just checked out of this adorable little inn!! My husband and our two dogs really enjoyed our stay at the Bayfront Inn. First of all, the location is simply amazing. You can cross the street and walk along the oceanfront. Every morning, I took my dogs on a stroll to see otters, sea lions, and birds. The restaurants in the area are amazing (Giovanni's and the Dutchman), and all within walking distance. Morro Rock is also walking distance, but we were lazy and decided to drive since parking is ample everywhere. Secondly, the owners are serious when they say they are a dog friendly operation. They left a gift for my two dogs upon check in, and my pups loved the toys. The dogs were welcomed in the room and on the patio... pretty much everywhere we were. I was embarrassed because my yappy little dog kept barking at the owner. The room was nice and clean. Morro Bay is pretty chilly, but our bedroom was well insulated and toasty. A Keurig coffeemaker was on the bed stand with several pods. We appreciate the candy and complementary wine as well. The small touches by the owner really made our stay extra special. Bayfront Inn was recommend to us by a couple we met in a hot tub in Pahrump NV. They told us it was an understated gem, dog friendly, funky cool, in a great location and had yummy cinnamon rolls from the neighboring cafe. When we drove up we were a bit hesitant, but because of their recommendation we went ahead and booked a night. Then another. Then 2 more. And finally, 2 more again - I mean, we have to go home sometime! We started in a standard king bed room (#14) but asked to move to the deluxe king (#20) because it had more floor space. Definitely recommend the larger rooms if traveling with dogs - our 2 small dogs appreciated the larger room too.  Yes, the place is old, yes most of the rooms are smaller than most motels we usually stay in, yes some things are not as convenient as we are used to. But the overall experience at this place far outweighs all of the negative comparisons. The rooms were clean (thanks to Norma), beds & pillows were very comfortable, towels were nice & thick. We received a complimentary bottle of wine, salt water taffy, bottled waters, & a doggy goodie bag, PLUS 2 free cinnamon rolls each day of our stay - wow! We felt spoiled & appreciated by management, Giovanni was super friendly & accommodating. All this plus a super location, great views, and no stress. Perfect vacation from retirement.
