The pleasant inn was aptly named. We (beautiful GF and I) had to last-minute-adjust our reservation and they very kindly changed it with no fees DUE TO THE HORRIFIC WEATHER! THANK YOU JESSICA, SHES THE GOAT! I love this place, we might stay another night. GF NOTES: "Jessica is a queen"

I came here for a short getaway for my birthday and they put my name on the prompt! I came here with two close friends one of our rooms had a full kitchen! It was so cute! Definitely enjoyed my stay and loved how close it was to all the restaurants and shops.

Pleasant Enough, Reasonable Price, Convenient Walkable Location, Parking, No Staff On-Site. PROS: ~Reasonable budget motel style option in Morro Bay with on-site parking (although parking is a little tight and awkward). Good enough for one or two nights. ~Convenient walkable location to the embarcadero, restaurants and coffee shops. Once we arrived, we parked and walked and didn't move our car until after breakfast and checkout the next morning. (Breakfast not included at the hotel, but there are several places within walking distance). ~Patrons were quiet, although being that the hotel is right on a road that leads down to the embarcadero, there was some road noise, but we always wear earplugs in hotels. ~Clean, modern decor, conveniences like fridge, coffee maker, TV, microwave, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in dispensers in the shower, newer windows and shutters, heat in room which we used in early October. CONS: ~No personal contact -- there was a sign on the office door to say pick the key up in the box (in an envelope with our name on it). Upon checkout we were to drop the key off in the box, although a nearby maid took it from us. It worked, but sometimes you enjoy that personal touch. ~Be aware that the bathroom in King Room #6 is VERY small -- half sink and a shower like a cruise ship. ~Short bed -- my 6'1" husband found the King bed too short for him, which isn't normal for a King. Maybe it was due to the headboard configuration. Overall, good enough for one night at the right price. Tip: I recommend nearby Dorn's Breakers Cafe for dinner.

Checked in at 2pm and our room was ready as were a few others so we checked out the place. Some rooms are larger with kitchenettes and a small table. Our room is a small king bed. All the rooms we saw are very cute but not very spacious. The bathrooms are tiny. The sink is a very small corner sink which makes it difficult to wash your hands, brush your teeth or god forbid your face in the morning. Water was all over the floor. The bed is comfy, the room is clean and overall the whole place is good. We only stayed one night so I'm not sure how I'd feel using that micro sink for an entire weekend. Location is walking distance to shops and restaurants, the marina and a short drive to the big rock. Staff is very friendly and accommodating so I'd stay here again in a larger room with a semi decent sink. So boujee! I know!

Wow, what an awesome find! I wish every town had such a quaint, lovely hospitable and economical Inn. Great location, close to the waterfront. They have the big wheel bikes that you can use anytime, wish we had the opportunity to try. Pet friendly, which is a huge plus, they provide treats, a bowl and a list of pet friendly businesses around town. The rooms are cozy and warm, decorated in a nice coastal decor. The little kitchenette was a bonus. Definitely the place to stay in Morro Bay!

AWESOME stay!!! Out of my MANY stays in Morro Bay this is by far my favorite! --small word of advice..the sky light is SUPER bright though, so if you like sleeping-in or a dark room to sleep it's right above the second bed.

Room #2 was nicely furnished with this cozy seating area in the kitchenette!

We checked out this inn in person 7 weeks ago, the place we stayed last time had the most…read moreuncomfortable beds. I had read several reviews for this place saying how comfortable the beds were and how nice the rooms were. At that time the nicest woman showed us every room layout they had, even let us sit on the beds to test out the comfort level. The beds we sat on were way better than the other place. We also liked the different layouts of the rooms- the one with 2 separate bedrooms and the one with the kitchenette were our favorites- but we felt, at the time we could enjoy any of the rooms. They are also dog friendly if you aren't in the kitchenette room The reviews from before talked about a wonderful breakfast brought to your room each morning. When I mentioned it, the woman said they just discontinued that- the woman who was making the items had gone back to school in the mornings. She said they would be giving each guest a breakfast voucher for various small businesses in the area. This sounded like a great way to try out new places I asked if all the rooms had a fridge and microwave. We were assured they all did We booked thru a 3rd party for this trip. We stayed 3 nights- arriving Monday around 5 pm of Thanksgiving week There was a young man in the office when we arrived who said we were the last to check in for the evening He gave us our room keys and showed us the map on the wall to direct us to our rooms. He also told us parking is first come first served. We went to our room to store our belongings before heading out to dinner. I didn't see a microwave in my room- a must for my neck and back warmer for a recent injury. I went back to the office to request one. I was told he would look for one and get back to us. He came to our room 5 minutes later saying he couldn't find one. I explained I had been promised one by the nice lady when we came to look at the inn- he said she no longer worked there. That he had only been there a week He said he would call his manager and get back to us- but he left for the night without an update We asked him how to work the fireplace- but he didn't know We also asked to not have the maids come to the room while we were out. He said they don't come at all during your stays There is a binder in the room that tells you about the fireplace, as well as the location of some lockers to get "amenities" The locker has towels, tp, tissues.... There were also bikes and body boards available for use The rooms have been updated- but once in the room, it didn't seem to us that they were done well The bathroom floor is very slippery- we had to lay down towels for safety. The shower was not hot thru the whole stay- and water pressure is almost nonexistent There is a sign up in the bathroom about a 5 minute shower- no way you would get the conditioner out of your hair with no water pressure The fireplace wasn't working well... the tiniest of red on a log- and you can't really enjoy it from the bed. The tv is mounted above the fireplace- but it doesn't swivel- so you can't see it well from the bed The WiFi is a joke The beds were not as comfy as other guests reported- more were they as nice as the ones we had been shown a few weeks ago. We were in room 3 pacifica- they showed us rooms on the other side of the hotel The 2nd day we found a nice woman working in the office who was able to bring us a microwave. She did there were about 6 in the storage area. I asked if maybe the first guy didn't know where to look- she said that's where they always keep them. She stayed to make sure it worked when we plugged it in- the whole outlet didn't work in the front room The ironing board was broken- we were going to use it as a shelf for storage. The closest only had 1 hanger in it and 1 bathrobe. Which seemed odd there wouldn't have been 2. The coffee was in tiny refillable canisters. We brought our own coffee maker and coffee so wasn't an issue for us- but we both thought it didn't seem sanitary The fridge never did get cold enough- even though we had it on the coldest setting- so we ended up mostly using our big beach cooler In the 2nd day they cut back all the palm trees- grateful the woman who brought us the microwave warned us and we were able to move our car. We asked her if they would trim the ones right in front of our room- we had several stairs up to get in our room- and the palm fronds would smack you in the face when you tried to carry your stuff in and out. They did cut that back- very helpful But we were stuck in our room while the work was done. It was very loud There was always plenty of parking We didn't feel the beds we had were as comfortable as the ones in the other side of the inn- in room 3 the queen sized bed felt better then the king When we checked out it was another young man who also seemed new and inexperienced Hoping there is more training for the entire staff so everyone is on the same page

It felt like a home! Service was great. Check in was a breeze. They have limited front desk hours (10a-6p) but if you get there later they will put your key in a locked box from the front door so you can do self check in. Make sure to call ahead if you choose self check in so you can get the code. Also, they have an emergency line available if you need anything after hours. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were able to rest well and it was quiet. The breakfast was delicious! We particularly enjoyed the Bircher Muesli, so good and refreshing and on the healthier side. I like how they have menus to choose from and it's so easy to fill out, after that, you just drop it off the night before to the front office box. My favorite part was that they had a heater in the bathroom, for someone who gets cold easily this was so convenient! There's plenty of parking and there's even a fireplace outside to relax if you'd like. They have bikes you can borrow as well. We walked everywhere and this place is the perfect spot because it was close to everything. The waterfront was only a 6 min walk while Main Street is a 3 min walk. We would definitely come back here again. Such a gem in Morro Bay! Thank you beach bungalow inn!

Many reviewers mentioned how clean the property was and how comfortable the beds were, so I came in with high expectations, especially since it has a 5-star rating on Yelp. Upon arrival, I was greeted by who I believe was the owner. She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain how everything worked, including the air conditioning and refrigerator. From what I could tell, she and her husband are the primary people running the inn, and they were both wonderful hosts. Throughout my stay, they checked in to make sure everything was going well, which I really appreciated. When I walked into the room, the reviews were absolutely right. Everything was spotless--from the bedding and carpet to the bathroom. I was also pleasantly surprised by the shower's water pressure. At many hotels it's either too weak or inconsistent, but here it was just right. The bed was also very comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it does exactly what it promises, especially for the price. It's clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near downtown and the pier. You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Genuinely friendly and helpful - great recommendations, warm greetings, and they actually acknowledge you as a member (which, let's be honest, doesn't always happen everywhere). Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast.
