I honestly would give this place 2 stars if it wasn't the price we bought it for. We stayed in room 10 and unfortunately the walls were VERY thin. We could hear banging all night and it honestly got scary at some points because we couldn't tell exactly where it came from. We arrived at the motel pretty late in the night and we picked our key up from a mailbox at the front door with no code- seemed a little suspicious for something that could very easily be taken. As well, the room was HOT. There was a small fan that was offered but no ac? Definitely wouldn't recommend for summer. BUT, if you're looking for something on a budget in this area it's definitely not a bad idea. read more

Super cute hotel. Nothing fancy but clean and cute. Close to everything. Bathroom was tiny but doable. The shower had amazing water pressure. The kitchenette was a great place to play cards and a good size fridge for lots of chilled cocktails, /beer. read more

This review is so overdue. If you like a nice, cute, family- friendly place to stay, this is for you. My family of 6 stayed in room #11. We were charged extra for the 6th person (totally okay) and we had plenty of room. A bed for 2 adults, another bed for our daughters, and sofa for the boys. TV is the room and another in the living room and a full kitchen to enjoy. Jessica also highly recommended on Thursday night to visit San Luis Obispo for their Farmers Market. What an awesome suggestion. We had such a great time and wouldve never known if she didnt tell us. And what pushed me to leave this review was Pleasant Inns honesty. My son left his iphone charger (hot commodity) and I didnt even think it would still be there. Not only did the guest after us turn it in, Jessica kept it safe until she got my phone call. She had it tucked away until she found the owner. Than she mailed it to my house! Just to compare, my older son went on a trip with his school and left his sweatshirt at a hotel. I had called the hotel, had to go through hoops to get to housekeeping, and than was told they would search lost and found. I was than contacted days later and told it was no where to be found. So one incident mailed the phone charger to my house and the other couldnt find a sweatshirt. Two totally different experiences. I cant say enough good things about Pleasant Inn. Cute little motel with kitchen. Heater works like a champ, I think it's the warmest I've ever been in Morro Bay. My only complaints are that there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom so you have to open the window after you take a shower and it was freezing outside. Also the cleaning is not great because there was mold in the shower and it was super dusty on top of the headboard (it's a fabric headboard) and there was some leftover trash under the sink cupboard from the previous occupants. Refrigerator was super quiet and it was very quiet at night and I would definitely stay here again. read more

Pleasant Enough, Reasonable Price, Convenient Walkable Location, Parking, No Staff On-Site. PROS: ~Reasonable budget motel style option in Morro Bay with on-site parking (although parking is a little tight and awkward). Good enough for one or two nights. ~Convenient walkable location to the embarcadero, restaurants and coffee shops. Once we arrived, we parked and walked and didn't move our car until after breakfast and checkout the next morning. (Breakfast not included at the hotel, but there are several places within walking distance). ~Patrons were quiet, although being that the hotel is right on a road that leads down to the embarcadero, there was some road noise, but we always wear earplugs in hotels. ~Clean, modern decor, conveniences like fridge, coffee maker, TV, microwave, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in dispensers in the shower, newer windows and shutters, heat in room which we used in early October. CONS: ~No personal contact -- there was a sign on the office door to say pick the key up in the box (in an envelope with our name on it). Upon checkout we were to drop the key off in the box, although a nearby maid took it from us. It worked, but sometimes you enjoy that personal touch. ~Be aware that the bathroom in King Room #6 is VERY small -- half sink and a shower like a cruise ship. ~Short bed -- my 6'1" husband found the King bed too short for him, which isn't normal for a King. Maybe it was due to the headboard configuration. Overall, good enough for one night at the right price. Tip: I recommend nearby Dorn's Breakers Cafe for dinner. read more

Checked in at 2pm and our room was ready as were a few others so we checked out the place. Some rooms are larger with kitchenettes and a small table. Our room is a small king bed. All the rooms we saw are very cute but not very spacious. The bathrooms are tiny. The sink is a very small corner sink which makes it difficult to wash your hands, brush your teeth or god forbid your face in the morning. Water was all over the floor. The bed is comfy, the room is clean and overall the whole place is good. We only stayed one night so I'm not sure how I'd feel using that micro sink for an entire weekend. Location is walking distance to shops and restaurants, the marina and a short drive to the big rock. Staff is very friendly and accommodating so I'd stay here again in a larger room with a semi decent sink. So boujee! I know! read more

We've been coming here for well over 10 years. It's a fabulous family run hotel. It's nice and small overall but super clean and family run by Jessica and her father in law. The location is perfect as it's quiet yet a very short walk to the waterfront as well as old town Morro Bay. If there's no rooms available, we simply postpone our Morro Bay visit for some other time, the other places in town just don't have such a nice feeling of home. read more

Local here. For the same price, you can stay at the Inn at Morro Bay with beautiful rooms, a restaurant, and a pool right within the state park. Far more worth it. We stayed at the Pleasant Inn, and while not the owner's fault, the room next to ours was chock full of drunk people shouting expletives all night. Last thing my child needed to hear. At one point we called the police because it sounded like a domestic dispute. The owner/ manager was helpful in addressing the issue, but never actually asked these people to leave. She was also kind and apologetic. Here's where the problem lies, she offered a full refund or stay to make up for the terrible night we had. We elected a refund. A few weeks later still waiting on that, and the owner changed their mind and now will only honor a half refund. That's just not how you do business. You don't say one thing and do something else. Other than that, room was cute, kitchen adequate. Bed not so comfortable. Had there not been the trash Nextdoor that ruined our stay, would we stay again? Probably not. Won't recommend. read more

Wow, what an awesome find! I wish every town had such a quaint, lovely hospitable and economical Inn. Great location, close to the waterfront. They have the big wheel bikes that you can use anytime, wish we had the opportunity to try. Pet friendly, which is a huge plus, they provide treats, a bowl and a list of pet friendly businesses around town. The rooms are cozy and warm, decorated in a nice coastal decor. Very Pleasant indeed. Was looking for a stopover place near water that was good value. We found this place and had low expectations based on the value price. Were we wrong.. The place was clean, rooms updated and nice, and beds were excellent - especially with our family being 5 (2 adults, 1 young adult and 2 kids), we had room# 8 with 1 king, 1 double and 1 twin. Perfect, warm and cozy for a rainy day along with great shower. Very quiet and parking is super convenient. Walking distance to food or the beach area shops and they offerred as much contact less interaction as you want. If you are looking for a no frills, great value and no requirement for hotel type amentities (no room service, no vending, breakfast included etc) then this is the place. We stayed here for two nights recently and it was just barely OK. The location is great, with an easy walking distance of the Embarcadero. The room definitely seemed tired and in need of a deep cleaning and some spiffying up. Scuff marks on the thin, cheap doors with a gap at the bottom, uncovered nail holes in the walls, thick dust on the bathroom lightbulbs and the like made this place feel/look tired. It was nice having a mini-fridge and (the loudest) microwave. There was an old filter in the coffee machine that hadn't been cleaned out from the previous guest. Only two bath towels in the room; it's nice to have an extra towel for your hair. No hair dryer though they brought one upon request. Jessica was very friendly over the phone but the two guys who checked us in and out had zero people skills. For a little more than $100 per night, it seems like we could've done better than this place. We won't return. read more

Such a great stay here for my wedding anniversary! They put my husband and I in a bigger room without us requesting it and at no additional charge, which was so amazing. We loved the location because it was so central to all of the restaurants and shops in the area. Yes, as some of the other reviews state the bathroom was quite small, but really who cares, it's just a bathroom. The bed was comfy and the room and property were beautiful and clean. Only got to stay one night in Room #2 but enjoyed it very much. The staff was so friendly when we got there even though we came late at night. I liked how we had a parking spot right next to our room with a door that led into the kitchenette. The room looked brand new and had cute furnishings. I would definitely stay here again and have no complaints! There was a lot of places to eat just minutes walking. Contactless check-in / check-out process was really easy and fast. The front desk manager made it really convenient for us. We stayed upstairs in the suite it had everything we needed for our little getaway with a living room, full kitchen, and separate bedroom and bathroom. Rooms were clean and we had no issues with any of the appliances. Morro bay is beautiful and this hotel was the perfect place to stay during this visit. King size bed pillow was so comfy that I wanted to take it home; I'd have bought one if they were for sale. Entire bedding ensemble was comfortable. Reasonable rates. Excellent location between Main Street and Embarcadero so you can park your car in front of your room and then walk to everything in Morro Bay. Free wifi. Love that they offer "beach cruiser" bikes to guests but beware of the hill on your return. Negatives: Draft under door and heat didn't work so beware if staying during the winter. We stayed here for 2 nights in October. We would not recommend this place at all. Where do we start...it was a hot weekend and the room has no air conditioning, only a floor fan that is inadequate of cooling off any room. In the kitchen...a used sponge was left for us to use (we went and purchased our own) broiler door is broken/ajar making heat escape/cause leg burns. Pots and pans handles are so loose that you can not hold/carry them by handles. Black mold on back door trim in kitchen. There is a lack of utensils to use in kitchen and a broken wine bottle opener (we went and purchased our own) paper towel roll was almost empty and no spare left. When they came to dump trash from room, they hung up the used/dirty kitchen towels for us to use again. Kleenex box was low/ran out and no spare box left. Dinner plates are cracked/broken and in terrible condition to serve anything/anyone on. Kitchen floors were not swept...we used kitchen so there were crumbs, no sweeping or broom/dustpan left in room. Ice machine was out of order the weekend. Why is there a dirty vent/chain pull in kitchen that is inoperable? The bathroom was horrible as well...a super tiny sink with a glass shelf installed at head level is just an accident/concussion waiting to happen. Many hits to the head when washing face, shaving either from the shelf itself or from things falling from unlevel glass shelf. Shower faucet is much too tight/hard to open/close...needs a handle. The shower water pressure is way too strong for such a tiny shower space. Tacky looking ceiling metal plate/repair that is about to fall as screws are missing. Window boxes need to be dead headed and watered...neglected. Lighting is very horrible in bedroom along with the squeaky springs on bed. We found it interesting that housekeeping left tip envelope when we encountered upon arrival...dirty TV screen, dusty floors, dust throughout baseboards, used coffee grinds still in coffee maker, bathroom window curtain is dirty/brown stains, kitchen window curtain was put up inside out. This Room 4 needs to be completely cleaned/detailed. Ridiculous to have tip envelope when pride is not taken in cleaning/maintenance of room. When we went to try to get paper towels, Kleenex and kitchen towels for our room...the office was closed by 3. We had to go purchase these supplies for ourselves. We would not recommend this room/motel to anyone. The proximity to bay is the only positive thing we could say about this motel. Stay somewhere else and walk a little further to bay. We left 1 star because it wouldn't allow us to review if not, but realistically this motel warrants no stars. Owners it looks like you have quit/gave up on your motel and your staff is following your standards read more

We had a fantastic stay here! The wife, the kids (6yrs & 10yr), the in laws, and myself all enjoyed our rooms. We stayed in the suite upstairs and my in laws stayed in the room with a king bed. Both rooms had a kitchen area with stove, microwave, refrigerator, and seating area. Our room had a large living room and kitchen island where you can eat or have extra food. Lots of space for us in the suite. The bed was amazing! I slept so well. I really liked the comforter too! It was soft and had a good weight to it. The shower was super nice. Wide head, great water pressure, felt like a nice warm heavy rain fall. The hotel is very close to the pier area. Lots of really good eats around. Fish and chips are everywhere! But not all are the same. Breakfast too, pancakes in some places are way better than others. Just sayin. The beach is a short drive away, with really soft fine sand. Overall it was wonderful. We will be staying again for sure! read more

The positives: this place was cute and affordable. Great kitchen with everything you would need to make a meal. Comes with toaster, microwave, stove and refrigerator. Dishes and cookware was supplied as well. Beds were comfortable but very squeaky. Rooms were clean overall, except the baseboards. Staff was very nice. Close to the water and walking distance to everything you would want. Negatives: The bathroom is very small. I couldn't wash my face in the sink it was so small and had a shelf built right above it so I'd hit my head on the shelf. Wash your face in the kitchen sink. Shower was too small as well, I am a small person and actually had to step out of the shower to lather up and then back in to rinse off. read more

Let it be known that I never waste my time writing reviews. This place on the other hand was so amazing, I just had to give it some love. My girlfriend and I arrived late on a Thursday, and yet, they made the check in process a piece of cake. The room was perfect. If you have the opportunity to get a room with a Kitchenette, do yourself the favor and spend the extra money. Jenn at the front desk was very welcoming. Our room was being cleaned so she went ahead and opened up an empty room so just I could use the bathroom before driving up to Paso Robles. **Don't worry, it was cleaned again before the next guests arrived. It is two blocks from the bay and surrounded by so many things to see and do. We are looking forward to going back real soon. read more

I stayed in room 5 (the smallest to room, good for 1 person or a couple) and had such a great experience. I stayed by myself and felt very safe and comfortable. The lady who checked me in was very sweet and gave me good recommendations on where to walk to see the otters. The room was very clean and had a very peaceful atmosphere. Stayed here during my wife's birthday. Amazing service! A very short walk to the water and all the shops. When we got back at night, we can hear the sea lions barking in the water from here. The room was cozy equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We had our daughter with us and she had her own room to herself with 2 beds in it and a tv. A pleasant surprise since when we booked the room for the multiple beds, we thought they were all going to be in 1 room. My wife enjoyed the decor and the fact that the bathroom had a hair dryer for her to use. It was an extremely comfortable stay and we will definitely be back! Their name is appropriate. So disappointed in our stay at this Motel. The room was dirty such as hair on the bathroom floor and sand in the sheets. The one closet in the the room smelt so gross like an old musty man. I didn't want to hang my clothes in it. The shower is like a small closet and the bathroom sink was a corner sink extremely small. The Motel is attractive from the outside, but such a let down inside. The housekeeper was to busy smoking and drinking Monster Energy drinks to check and throw out our trash or clean the room. read more

The room we stayed at (Family suite #8) was renovated but it had a strong pungent smell. The odor smelled of pets and smoke. I couldn't ask for a different room as the office was closed when we arrived at 4pm. Reduced hours due to covid. I had zero interaction with staff. Check out was dropping off the key at black box by the office. I regretted booking here and it was frustrating no one was there to make things right. Location was great but the renovated room seemed pointless if the appearance didn't match the condition and smell of the room. read more

My wife asked me to find a place along the coast where we could go for a couple days with our dog. It's her birthday so I had to get it right. I'm so glad I was able to find this place! The first thing she said when we were arriving was "Wow, this is just how I like!" and that was just from the first glimpse. We were greeted by Sandy, who takes care of the place and has a lovely dog called Patches. She was very nice and easy! She gave us basic information about the property and our room and in a couple minutes we were checked-in. Once we got to the room, WOW! Another surprise! The room is very cozy and well decorated. We got the room that comes with a full kitchen and we were very pleased we did! Everything is very clean and neat! It is a SMALL ROOM but we don't really need more space than what we got. If you need a large room, go somewhere else. THE BED - definitely the high light of the room. We stayed on a King size bed! Ridiculously comfort! Even the sheets are nicer that you usually find in "nicer" hotels. My wife is an early bird by nature. I was impressed that she was sleeping in and snoozing. This seems to be a very quite place, but in the morning I could hear people talking/walking by the door. But noise shouldn't be an issue. We thought the shower was kinda small, and maybe we could use a little more room for that. But the water pressure is awesome! And you will probably get your bathroom floor very wet after the second person showers. I went to the office in the morning to ask for some extra towels(We shower a lot) and the staff was super nice and attentive asking how was the first night and if we needed anything. They also handed me a list of place where we can go with our dog including all the Pet Friendly Restaurants. (That was nice) Parking is available for free and the LOCATION is incredible. It's pretty much 1 short block away from the shore and all the restaurants and stores! You can't beat this location and a PET FRIENDLY facility. I don't usually take the time to write a review so soon, since we're still here but this place really exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back!!!
