View from the deck. Doesn't get any more beautiful then this!!!!

This place is amazing. This is my second time visiting this year and again, I'm not disappointed. It is a small inn with 3 rooms. Each room (some one bedroom, one a studio) comes with a fully stocked kitchen, which is great for breakfasts and snacks. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The deck is amazing! It has multiple chairs and tables with the bay literally feet away. I've enjoyed drinking my coffee on the deck, watching otters in the bay, and boats coming in and out. The downtown area starts next door. All shops and restaurants are within walking distance, a major plus! Lots of adorable shops and delicious places to eat. It is very quiet and relaxing here. The owner is kind and takes great pride in his inn. He personally shows you the room, all the features it has to offer, and provides maps for things to do in the area. Also, this trip occurred during COVID. Masks are required in all shops. Patio dining is available at most locations (with the view that's really where you want to be seated anyways!). Everyone was compliant with wearing masks, even on the streets, which made me feel extra safe traveling during COVID. I highly recommend this place!! I will be back for a third time I'm sure :)

Me and my husband stayed in this Inn. It was really worth it. The view was spectacular. The owner was so nice and very approachable. I will definitely visit this place again. Place was clean and very well keep. I don't know why i can't upload videos , all i have is video with the place....

"The hidden secret of California" This was one of the nicest, most pleasant and peaceful stays I've ever had anywhere. There are only 3 rooms in this hotel so definitely plan ahead if you want to enjoy what we got too. The room is spacious, very nicely put together, high end king bed, 2 nice leather recliners, a huge deck over looking the bay. Had a full kitchen for the longer stays. No matter were you are sitting or laying in this suite you will always have an amazing view of the bay! The hole side facing the bay is glass with 2 ways to go in and out from the deck. The owner treated us as if he had known us a lifetime. Dont miss out on staying at this wonderful gem hidden in Morro Bay California. I would recommend atleast a week it's a truly amazing place with many things to do.

Gray's Inn is a homey and quaint place to stay in Morro Bay. Not only that we had the best view of the ocean, this place is located in downtown where restaurants are all walking distance. Todd, our host, welcomed us and even helped us get situated in our room. The only downside I can think of is they have a pretty slow internet connection. But other than that, I recommend this place when you're around the area!!!

    The view! Spectacular!!

We enjoy the inn very much. Nice location friendly owners! We just visited for our anniversary. Our silver anniversary, 25 years! I love thé set up and I love the location. It's quiet generally and it's right on the water looking out at boats and people watching. The kitchen has most things needed pots, pans, dishes utensils coffee maker etc. We love to cook and have meals out on the deck while watching the water and the sailboats. There is a kayak/boat rental next door and we enjoyed taking a kayak out also. We road our bikes and we were able to keep them on the deck. Walking distance from shops and restaurants. Great spot for a 7 night stay away from the stress of our jobs. It's like going to a second home. The bed is super cozy and the couch is a pull out also. Couch although a pull out very comfy. We walked and purchased lobster tails and had a romantic evening on the deck. The inn is a smaller one, meaning, only 4 rooms/apartments, but it doesn't lack charm. There are plenty of towels blankets pillows and well privacy. We have gone to this location several times and it does not disappoint! Thank you Grays Inn for yet another wonderful anniversary, we will be back.

This inn has the BEST VIEW!! It has the view of Morro Rock. Definitely a best place to stay when in Morro Bay. Walking distance to EVERYTHING, such as restaurants, stores, and water activities. It is very clean and it feels like home. We were beyond satisfied with our stay. Would definitely recommend!

This place is underrated! Todd and his wife were so nice and helpful after an experience with our originally booked hotel. The view from the deck is divine, you can see the Morro rock from there. I definitely recommend staying here if you're going to Morro Bay area. It's walking distance from the restaurants and it's also fine just staying in the room too because it feels like home with a view.

Great stay. We're able to check in a little early. We got some great recommendations from the owner. The place was clean and roomy and we were able to use the full kitchen to full effect. Seals were loud the first night but we adjusted and so did they. My wife liked the nautical decor of the room. Great central location.

Was so inspired by my stay @The Gray's Inn, Morro Bay I decided to make these.

Took the girlfriend on an anniversary trip and was floored by how beautiful our room was. Walking distance to almost anything you'd need (food, drinks, activities, beach, hiking). I spent ample time out on our own private deck over looking the water, watching boats pass, jet skiers, paddle boarders, taking in the sunset, and fully relaxing. Todd, the owner, is especially helpful when it comes to knowing the area. He had excellent recommendations for where to dine, drink, and have fun. Overall a great trip, a great experience, and we will be making this an annual trip. Wish I could give 6 stars!

We were so blessed this past weekend to have stayed here. Gorgeous view. Casual hosts. Everything you could need. This is my new favorite place. That includes travel across the Southwest, CA, Eastern Seaboard and UK. Bed was great but we barely left the deck right on the water. We will be back. :) thank you Todd!

Gray's Inn is the place to stay in Morro Bay. We spent 2 quiet, restful nights there for our anniversary. We enjoyed the bay views from the deck and bedroom. Prior to our arrival our host went out of his way to wash our linens in unscented detergent due to my allergies. He made us feel welcome and appreciated. There are lots of restaurants within a short walk and a kayak facility right next door. We have stayed at Gray's Inn before and have never been disappointed. We will be back.

I had read several reviews for this place saying how comfortable the beds were and how nice the rooms were. At that time the nicest woman showed us every room layout they had, even let us sit on the beds to test out the comfort level. The beds we sat on were way better than the other place. We also liked the different layouts of the rooms- the one with 2 separate bedrooms and the one with the kitchenette were our favorites- but we felt, at the time we could enjoy any of the rooms. They are also dog friendly if you aren't in the kitchenette room The reviews from before talked about a wonderful breakfast brought to your room each morning. When I mentioned it, the woman said they just discontinued that- the woman who was making the items had gone back to school in the mornings. She said they would be giving each guest a breakfast voucher for various small businesses in the area. This sounded like a great way to try out new places I asked if all the rooms had a fridge and microwave. We were assured they all did We booked thru a 3rd party for this trip. We stayed 3 nights- arriving Monday around 5 pm of Thanksgiving week There was a young man in the office when we arrived who said we were the last to check in for the evening He gave us our room keys and showed us the map on the wall to direct us to our rooms. He also told us parking is first come first served. We went to our room to store our belongings before heading out to dinner. I didn't see a microwave in my room- a must for my neck and back warmer for a recent injury. I went back to the office to request one. I was told he would look for one and get back to us. He came to our room 5 minutes later saying he couldn't find one. I explained I had been promised one by the nice lady when we came to look at the inn- he said she no longer worked there. That he had only been there a week He said he would call his manager and get back to us- but he left for the night without an update We asked him how to work the fireplace- but he didn't know We also asked to not have the maids come to the room while we were out. He said they don't come at all during your stays There is a binder in the room that tells you about the fireplace, as well as the location of some lockers to get "amenities" The locker has towels, tp, tissues.... There were also bikes and body boards available for use The rooms have been updated- but once in the room, it didn't seem to us that they were done well The bathroom floor is very slippery- we had to lay down towels for safety. The shower was not hot thru the whole stay- and water pressure is almost nonexistent There is a sign up in the bathroom about a 5 minute shower- no way you would get the conditioner out of your hair with no water pressure The fireplace wasn't working well... the tiniest of red on a log- and you can't really enjoy it from the bed. The tv is mounted above the fireplace- but it doesn't swivel- so you can't see it well from the bed The WiFi is a joke The beds were not as comfy as other guests reported- more were they as nice as the ones we had been shown a few weeks ago. We were in room 3 pacifica- they showed us rooms on the other side of the hotel The 2nd day we found a nice woman working in the office who was able to bring us a microwave. She did there were about 6 in the storage area. I asked if maybe the first guy didn't know where to look- she said that's where they always keep them. She stayed to make sure it worked when we plugged it in- the whole outlet didn't work in the front room The ironing board was broken- we were going to use it as a shelf for storage. The closest only had 1 hanger in it and 1 bathrobe. Which seemed odd there wouldn't have been 2. The coffee was in tiny refillable canisters. We brought our own coffee maker and coffee so wasn't an issue for us- but we both thought it didn't seem sanitary The fridge never did get cold enough- even though we had it on the coldest setting- so we ended up mostly using our big beach cooler In the 2nd day they cut back all the palm trees- grateful the woman who brought us the microwave warned us and we were able to move our car. We asked her if they would trim the ones right in front of our room- we had several stairs up to get in our room- and the palm fronds would smack you in the face when you tried to carry your stuff in and out. They did cut that back- very helpful But we were stuck in our room while the work was done. It was very loud There was always plenty of parking We didn't feel the beds we had were as comfortable as the ones in the other side of the inn- in room 3 the queen sized bed felt better then the king When we checked out it was another young man who also seemed new and inexperienced Hoping there is more training for the entire staff so everyone is on the same page

Shortly after using a remote check-in service, I was locked out of my room and there was absolutely zero management onsite at this property...from early afternoon until the next day after 10am. That's also what a lot of reviews said. Gabby would do best working as a prison guard where she can exercise her authority as a self-proclaimed bully. Better yet, she should retire as she would likely be fired as being a bully is not okay, unless you're Gabby. Hope the owners know what she is doing to the property. P.S. I also got bedbugs here. So gross. Ugh.

You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Genuinely friendly and helpful - great recommendations, warm greetings, and they actually acknowledge you as a member (which, let's be honest, doesn't always happen everywhere). Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast.
