When we adopted our senior rescue dog in 2023, we looked for a pet-friendly hotel, and based on the great reviews and a friend's recommendation, we chose 456 Embarcadero Inn. We've now stayed with them seven times and can't imagine staying anywhere else! A couple of years ago, new management took over, and all I can say is "Wow!!" Over the last year or so, the hotel has undergone a complete remodel (new amenities, new floors, and new furnishings, including walk-in showers in many rooms) and the rooms are gorgeous and comfortable! The location is perfect: on the quieter end of the Embarcadero across from Tidelands Park. Perfect for walking, dining nearby (La Katrina, right next door, is great) or just sitting on the balcony enjoying the sounds of the bay. There is plenty of free parking on-site. Now for customer service: The entire staff, from the front desk to housekeeping and management, is super friendly and helpful. Honestly, we have experienced a glitch or two over the years, but the issues are always immediately addressed and remedied. And, always in a courteous and professional manner. However, there is one person I must single out: Suzanne always goes above and beyond to provide us with a welcoming, comfortable experience. From the first phone call to book our room (she even knows our favorites) until we reluctantly say goodbye a few days later, Suzanne always has a smile (even at 6:30am when I'm walking our dog). She really cares that we (and our pup) have the best possible stay. She is the personification of grace, professionalism, and truly a fantastic representative for the hotel.

Cons: - The hotel advertises breakfast as included, but what was provided was only coffee and a very limited selection of pastries. Calling this "breakfast included" felt misleading and was very disappointing. - The coffee setup during "breakfast" is shown in the photos I added. The way it was prepared and left open did not look hygienic and raised concerns about food safety. - The room was extremely small with very poor ventilation. There was only one tiny window. - There was no air conditioning. I should have noticed this when booking, but the room can get very hot and uncomfortable. - The iron in our room was broken, and the handle became extremely hot to the point that it could not be safely touched. This was another safety concern. - Overall, the hotel felt significantly overpriced for the room, amenities, and experience provided, despite the convenient location.

I called the Beach Bungalow Inn & Suites directly and spoke with the manager, Gabriell J. She was a total professional. I was stressed and upset, but her calm and helpful demeanor completely turned things around. She went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of through the hotel itself. Lesson learned: always book directly! Not only is the customer service superior, but you get a better price, too. I will absolutely book directly with them for my next trip to Morrow Bay!

I was supposed to receive a text or email with check in instructions and also a door code for the room. I received a call on the day of check in regarding this. I told the person on the phone that I had not received either and she assured me that I would receive one before the 3 pm check in. I did not receive the text. When we arrived to the property at the 3 pm check in, we tried to check in at the office but there was no one there. We found the manager cleaning a room. She informed us that she was the one that had called me. So apparently she runs the office and also serves as housekeeping. We went back and forth trying to reset the door code, and during this time, she was also was stressing about cleaning the vacated rooms on time. At the end of everything, she ended up offering us physical keys after all. Physical keys would have prevented the whole 30 min delay! Also, my ID was never checked, and I never had to sign anything regarding incidentals or policies which is usually the norm when you check in to a hotel. My word was just taken for my identity. Now to the room itself. It was perfectly clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo and small sink. No storage space so be aware of that. There was a fridge, coffee machine and coffee, creamer and sugar provided. There was a TV and fireplace. It was a really cute space. This Inn is also super close to the Embarcadero, restaurants, beaches, etc.

While we love supporting local places by going out to eat, it is also a perfect place to make your own dinner, put the umbrella up on the patio table, and enjoy dinner on your deck. It is also great for morning coffee and watching the boats go out for the day. They stock coffee and tea in the kitchen, but there is also a little coffee shop next door. I love going over, grabbing a Mexican Mocha and a bagel, and sitting outside in the morning. A couple of things worth noting are that Units A and B share a deck with only a partial separation, which opens up the view of the bay for both units. There is one regular parking spot and one handicapped spot, but three rooms, so someone has to park on the street. However, parking is free and unlimited, so that wasn't an issue for us. Things are quiet a good amount of the time, but it is on the Embarcadero, so it can also be noisy from the restaurants nearby at times. It is further down from the busiest part of the Embarcadero, so things aren't crazy down here. Still, it is only a one-mile walk--or a three-minute drive--to the Rock, and the cute little movie theater is just half a mile away alongside countless shops off the Embarcadero. Everything is within easy walking distance. If you want to stay in, the couch is a futon, and my son says it isn't too uncomfortable to sleep on. We all fight over who sits in the armchair--it is a perfect reading chair. We highly recommend staying here. We stayed here for a week last summer and this summer.

They also normally have complimentary breakfast and most also have free parking. Lots of value for your stay for a reasonable price. This particular Hampton Inn has to be one of my favorites. Decor and style is very similar to many others, this one seemed fairly new or updated, smelled nice in the common areas as well as my room. Everything was very clean and the staff were great. You could also see Morro Rock from the property and the area was very pretty. I really enjoyed my stay. They had a nice gym at this location, I normally will pick my hotel based on a solid gym. Need to be able to work out while traveling. This gym had everything I needed. A full rack of dumbbells, up to 75 lbs. Casio equipment, a peloton bike, bench, kettle bells and a Precor weight machine. They need to update their grips on the Precor machine, they don't match and it would be nice to have a second bench, but overall, great. They also have an indoor pool. Breakfast had hot and cold options, make your own waffles of course and a decent variety to grab a bite before the day begins. They also offer free parking, which is always appreciated. Enjoy!

It is in the perfect location, right by the water front with lots of great food and treat options nearby. We stayed in the mermaid suite. The staff and the owners were been amazing. They were very accommodating and have such great communication. It made our stay so special as we are celebrating an anniversary. The suites are on top of their store, which is so convenient to grab anything that we may need for our stay or to grab some souvenirs. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, and they have an amazing view of the Morro Rock. They are stocked up on everything you may need, and after a long day of walking and activities, the bed is extremely comfortable to sleep in.
