Wow this is perfect if you like old school cozy comfort! I personally can't stand generic mausoleum-type motel rooms, I want DECOR! CHARM!!! And the Seaside has it...plus a lovely garden leading right towards the beach. Of course I loved the "Fish Fantasy" room. Staff was very friendly and the place is neat as a pin.

Amazing property! Very clean, neat and orderly. From my initial email and phone call, I only have great comments. Everyone was helpful, professional, cheerful and excited that we were staying at their property. Location is great, easy walk to the beach and downtown Cayucos. The theme of our room was "Tea for Two" and was spacious and very comfortable. I highly recommend this place! The outside garden area is beautiful and friendly! Bar-B-Ques are available for guest use! Smudge the cat only adds to the charm and fun of your stay! Also, great coffee in the room! Will definitely return

My husband and I just wrapped up a two-night, mid-week stay here with some friends, celebrating our friend's birthday. This is a very, cute, comfortable, clean, and quiet little place. It's very old-school, very quaint, with a wonderful garden out back that has a lovely view of the sea. We stayed in room #5, aptly-named Tea for Two, with lots of teapot-themed decor. If you are looking for glitzy, modem, and expensive, there are lots of fancy pants spots elsewhere that will give that to you. This is just a wonderful, privately-owned motel with plenty of uniqueness and character. If you like local flavor and not corporate impersonality, stay here. We loved the place and will definitely stay again. We were delighted with our room and the peacefulness. The place was spotless (we even noticed housekeeping vacuuming the outdoor carpet right along the edge of the parking lot) and it was very comfy and cozy. The motel is centrally located, within walking distance of the pier, restaurants, shopping and beach. Granted, Cayucos isn't a huge metropolis, anyway, but it was nice to be able to park our car and not have to use it during our stay. A+ to owner Rick and his staff for having such an awesome spot.

I've been staying at the Seaside Motel in Cayucos for over 30 years, along with my mom and dad before me and my sisters and their families. Rebecca and Rick have maintained this little treasure impeccably and consistently. Each space is lovingly and artfully cared for. In a world that is constantly changing, I love that our favorite place on the central coast remains the same; comfortable and inviting, spotless and always cozy. Thank you Rick and Rebecca for making your corner of the world amazing and for sharing it with us.

This family owned and run motel is quirky, clean, quiet and a great place to just sit in a lovely garden. It's located in a great spot for walking around. Plenty of restaurants, coffee bars and antique stores in walking distance. The beach is right there for miles of walking on too. Rick (the owner, manger and you name it) would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it! We will definitely stay there again.

The cutest, sweetest motel ever! We loved our one night stay here! On a road trip and didn't like Morro Bay so went onto Cayucos. Luckily we got the last couple of rooms at the Seaside Motel. I was in Room #9 (my lucky number too) and it was adorable. Comfortable, sweet, super clean and functional - just like being at grandma's house. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Super location - walking distance from town and beach. We could hear the waves crashing from our room. Adorable little back garden with seating. Adjacent clothes line was great for drying beach towels and swimsuits. Just a great little property all around!

Stayed here over this past Memorial Day weekend. Nothing fancy with the room but it was clean and well worth the cost. Especially with the proximity to the beach. Literally within a few minutes walk behind the motel and your hitting the sand. Best part of the motel, it's garden patio area. Really pretty and relaxing atmosphere. We spent our 2 nights stay enjoying our dinner in the garden with the soothing sounds of waves crashing. This was on of the best vacation I've had with family. Even though the town is small, I would definitely return and stay at this motel again.

The staff was friendly and the property itself is really lovely. If you're traveling without pets--or with just one dog--you'll probably have a great experience. However, dog owners should be aware that the motel has a very strict one-dog limit, and the pet fees are substantial. I'm a volunteer with a dog rescue and was transporting a foster dog to her forever home. I also had my own dog with me. When I checked in, I was told I would not be able to stay because I had two dogs--even though I had already booked a non-refundable room. To their credit, the staff eventually worked out a compromise and allowed me to stay. However, they charged $125 per dog, which brought my total for the night to around $550. I'll be feeling the moths coming out of my pocket for a while with that one. If you book using an outside vendor like Hotels.com, these fees and policies are not made known. Again, the motel itself is lovely and the staff was polite throughout the interaction, but the pet policy is extremely strict (not allowed on furniture) and $$expensive$$. If you're traveling with dogs, especially more than one, it's definitely something to be aware of before booking.

What a wonderful stay!…read more Cutely designed and felt very like home! Everything was super clean, water did not smell like chlorine, and towels didn't have that hotel smell. The only downside is that there is no AC but honestly the cold air at night with the ceiling fan blowing in the right direction is enough to keep you cool during the night. Just note that there is no complimentary toothbrush. Kind of misleading on the website as it is listed under amenities. Staff are very friendly and always a nice add to your stay!
