    Bed bug bites

BED BUGS in Room 318!! I stayed here from September 19th to 22nd, I even paid extra for a room with a view. What I got instead was a horror show. During my three-day stay, I was bitten so badly by bed bugs that I woke up to significant amounts of blood on my pillowcase. The first night I tried to tell myself it was in my head. The second night I still held out hope. By the third night I woke up covered in bites, in pain, and terrified. I have a compromised immune system, and these bites made me physically ill. Some are swollen into painful welts that hurt even with ice. I'm itchy, miserable, and instead of a peaceful getaway, I was handed a health issue. . To make matters worse, when I called about a refund, I was told flatly, "We don't do that. Bye." and hung up on. No concern, no apology, no accountability. Now I am left washing and disinfecting everything I own, praying I did not carry these pests home with me. This was supposed to be a weekend of rest and recovery, not more trauma. Stay away from this hotel. Don't risk your health, your comfort, or your peace of mind.

Just a few minutes walk to all the beach, shops, and restaurants. Breakfast and parking was included with the stay so for me, so it was really worth your money! Little touches in the inn like the book corner and the sea shells in the room makes for a cozy and contributes to a laid-back atmosphere. Rooms are clean and TV comes with DirectTV. Would probably book this inn again if ever I would like a quick, overnight escape!

Traveling up from LA for a family event, we made our reservation last-minute on a June weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of the accomodations. We stayed in Room 209: my traveling companion and I had requested two queen beds and loved the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room. Amenities included in-room tea and coffee, cable TV, free Wi-Fi and one free parking spot in the lot (there seemed to be plenty of space available on the street as well.) Continental breakfast was included; the hostess of the breakfast room was friendly and helpful with questions about local sights. Being a chilly June night, we did turn on the heater; unfortunately, every time it turned on it made a loud rattling noise, waking us up on and off throughtout the night. Maybe ear plugs would be helpful? We certainly needed that coffee in the morning. Location is great; we were able to walk around downtown Morro Bay as well as out to the water. It wouldn't be too far to walk all the way to Morro Rock itself. We would stay at La Serena again if in the area.

Do you want the good or the bad first? We stayed here for our honeymoon. I booked the King suite with a fireplace and a balcony with a view of Morro rock. Amazing room! It was huge! And clean! With the best views. But the fireplace didn't work. I didn't bother telling the front desk gal because she was beyond rude! How can you have a rude/ mean person working in hospitality? And the worst part? We went to breakfast and my husbands bread was moldy! Moldy?! How can you serve this kind of food?

Great hotel!! We were in room 302!! Wow... you couldn't ask for a better view of Morro Rock!! I highly recommend this hotel and room!! Nice little selection of muffins, instant oatmeal, yogurt and fruit in the morning! And of course local coffee!

The staff here is very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again. La Serena Inn checked all of my boxes: clean, reasonably priced, and within walking distance of great restaurants. Our room had a view of Morro rock. I forgot a usb wall adaptor and the staff lent me one of theirs. The fact they went above and beyond to provide this made the stay more memorable. Also, the hotel has a bird watching theme. I thought that was very cool.

My husband surprised me with a reservation at this hotel, close to The Siren so we could see a show & not have to drive. Location: 5 Stars! The room was very large and had a good sized bath/vanity area with 2 sinks. The bed was comfortable and was dressed with 3pillows and a light layer of blankets. The room had a heater that although loud, warmed the room pretty quickly. We did not pay extra for a view. the window was dirty and obscured whatever view would have been. (Room 203) The breakfast was good; Waffles, hot cereal, cold cereal, fruit and plenty of beverages. Also it was Easter and colored boiled eggs were available. I thought that was a nice touch! And the dining room was festively decorated too. Lots of great views at this hotel, so even if you don't get a room with a view, waiting areas & the breakfast room have beautiful vistas. Grounds were clean & tidy. Staff were efficient and friendly. There is no one on the premises after 9 pm which was weird for me, but they lock the building & you can get in with your key. Parking is available on the property. Doggie bags available at the North Entrance.

I have stayed here many times. As you can see I'm local. Locked out of my room post Siren show at 12:30. Had to call the night number as there's no one manning the front desk. Called for three hours. The magnetic strip on both keys failed. Tried to call Uber to take me home to Pismo beach. No luck there either. I had no other choice than to call the police. Once the police called the night number miraculously someone answered. And about 10 minutes later the dark-haired girl appeared. Spoke to the front desk in the morning and they played it off like no big deal. I don't normally leave bad reviews. But I would hate for someone to have to go through what I did. Find a different hotel as there are many in the area.

Nice place! Impromptu stay. We had been in Cayucos for a couple days and drove to Morro Bay before heading home. About mid-afternoon the hubby suggested we stay at the coast one more night. Yes! My Happy Place! I checked to see who had doggie friendly rooms with availability on Expedia, then I checked Yelp for reviews. Mixed reviews, but most seemed favorable. We decided to do a drive by of La Serena Inn to see what we thought for ourselves. The outside was nice, so I went in to inquire at the front desk. They had one doggie friendly room still open for that night. It was 2PM and the room was just finished and ready so we got to check in then. The room was very reasonably priced. They charge $25 for pets, just so you know, if that matters. The room was good sized with a king bed - memory foam. It was comfortable. There was a microwave and fridge (that was a bit noisy, but not enough to keep me awake). We were on the 2nd floor, there are 3 - and there is an indoor elevator. Check out is 11AM. Oh, close to the water and we had a view of the rock from our room.

After staying in La Serena Inn, I'm dreaming of a home with walls covered in beautiful wall paper. How dreamy is this wallpaper?  We spend majority of our time outdoors when we travel and we are used to being out in the cold and even in the rain so it is important for us to have a comfortable place to stay at in the evenings. We really appreciate places that have a sense of style and warmth to them. We stayed in a romantic suite that had a fireplace and a balcony with the view of Morro Rock. We also had a joining room where our children slept. This inn is great for those with a small family or large family because the rooms are spacious. Breakfast is complimentary.

I called the Beach Bungalow Inn & Suites directly and spoke with the manager, Gabriell J. She was a total professional. I was stressed and upset, but her calm and helpful demeanor completely turned things around. She went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of through the hotel itself. Lesson learned: always book directly! Not only is the customer service superior, but you get a better price, too. I will absolutely book directly with them for my next trip to Morrow Bay!

I had read several reviews for this place saying how comfortable the beds were and how nice the rooms were. At that time the nicest woman showed us every room layout they had, even let us sit on the beds to test out the comfort level. The beds we sat on were way better than the other place. We also liked the different layouts of the rooms- the one with 2 separate bedrooms and the one with the kitchenette were our favorites- but we felt, at the time we could enjoy any of the rooms. They are also dog friendly if you aren't in the kitchenette room The reviews from before talked about a wonderful breakfast brought to your room each morning. When I mentioned it, the woman said they just discontinued that- the woman who was making the items had gone back to school in the mornings. She said they would be giving each guest a breakfast voucher for various small businesses in the area. This sounded like a great way to try out new places I asked if all the rooms had a fridge and microwave. We were assured they all did We booked thru a 3rd party for this trip. We stayed 3 nights- arriving Monday around 5 pm of Thanksgiving week There was a young man in the office when we arrived who said we were the last to check in for the evening He gave us our room keys and showed us the map on the wall to direct us to our rooms. He also told us parking is first come first served. We went to our room to store our belongings before heading out to dinner. I didn't see a microwave in my room- a must for my neck and back warmer for a recent injury. I went back to the office to request one. I was told he would look for one and get back to us. He came to our room 5 minutes later saying he couldn't find one. I explained I had been promised one by the nice lady when we came to look at the inn- he said she no longer worked there. That he had only been there a week He said he would call his manager and get back to us- but he left for the night without an update We asked him how to work the fireplace- but he didn't know We also asked to not have the maids come to the room while we were out. He said they don't come at all during your stays There is a binder in the room that tells you about the fireplace, as well as the location of some lockers to get "amenities" The locker has towels, tp, tissues.... There were also bikes and body boards available for use The rooms have been updated- but once in the room, it didn't seem to us that they were done well The bathroom floor is very slippery- we had to lay down towels for safety. The shower was not hot thru the whole stay- and water pressure is almost nonexistent There is a sign up in the bathroom about a 5 minute shower- no way you would get the conditioner out of your hair with no water pressure The fireplace wasn't working well... the tiniest of red on a log- and you can't really enjoy it from the bed. The tv is mounted above the fireplace- but it doesn't swivel- so you can't see it well from the bed The WiFi is a joke The beds were not as comfy as other guests reported- more were they as nice as the ones we had been shown a few weeks ago. We were in room 3 pacifica- they showed us rooms on the other side of the hotel The 2nd day we found a nice woman working in the office who was able to bring us a microwave. She did there were about 6 in the storage area. I asked if maybe the first guy didn't know where to look- she said that's where they always keep them. She stayed to make sure it worked when we plugged it in- the whole outlet didn't work in the front room The ironing board was broken- we were going to use it as a shelf for storage. The closest only had 1 hanger in it and 1 bathrobe. Which seemed odd there wouldn't have been 2. The coffee was in tiny refillable canisters. We brought our own coffee maker and coffee so wasn't an issue for us- but we both thought it didn't seem sanitary The fridge never did get cold enough- even though we had it on the coldest setting- so we ended up mostly using our big beach cooler In the 2nd day they cut back all the palm trees- grateful the woman who brought us the microwave warned us and we were able to move our car. We asked her if they would trim the ones right in front of our room- we had several stairs up to get in our room- and the palm fronds would smack you in the face when you tried to carry your stuff in and out. They did cut that back- very helpful But we were stuck in our room while the work was done. It was very loud There was always plenty of parking We didn't feel the beds we had were as comfortable as the ones in the other side of the inn- in room 3 the queen sized bed felt better then the king When we checked out it was another young man who also seemed new and inexperienced Hoping there is more training for the entire staff so everyone is on the same page

You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast.
