    King bed

We enjoy staying here. They have completely remodeled the rooms. They are very nice and clean. Very comfortable bed. It's always quite and nice here. I'd like if they would have put USB ports on the lamp or plug ins on the side table. The room has a microwave and refrigerator and coffee. They have wine in the lobby at 5. And in the morning we They have waffle makers, boiled eggs, yogurt and cereal. Nothing I can eat but it's nice and gets your day started. We really enjoy the hot tub. It's large and very relaxing. The also have a work out room. A few months ago we forgot out bathing suits in the bathroom called about it but never got them back. New 60.00 bathing suit. That was disappointing. But it hasn't stopped us from returning. Just make sure you have everything!

Stayed at the Masterpiece Hotel last month with my roommate. I booked two queen beds online when I made my reservation, when we checked-in the employee working there gave us the key to a single king bed. We had to go back to the reception desk to get it corrected, she didn't seem too pleased. They offer complimentary wine from 5-6pm which is a nice touch. Once we checked-in, we went down to see the indoor pool. We didn't go swimming but just dipped our feet in. The room was decent but a bit outdated. The light and blower in the bathroom turns on with a dial timer lol. The view from our balcony was someone's house and carport haha. The complimentary breakfast was prepackaged muffins, cheerios and some fruit. It wasn't that great, so we ended up going to a nearby coffee shop.

This place is absolutely incredible, I would recommend this hotel, over all others, when you visit Morro Bay, such a wonderful experience. Check in was incredibly easy, the girls at the front desk over the course of my 4 day stay were wonderful, and I could not believe everything you get in this hotel for the price you pay!! The manager checked me in early no problem, and was able to find me a room on the ground floor next to the dining area that was the Azul Suite, which was a sexy thing to see. The room was huge. Clean. I loved the light dimmers and the water temperature/soap dispensers in the shower. I was worried when I checked in if it would be loud in the mornings if people brought kids, and she said it was unusually loud that morning. She was right. The rest of the week I slept amazing, and loved having the room be spacious and clean, and right next to the dining area! Easy access in and out to breakfast in the morning. I even made friends with some of the other guests during morning chats! A sweet couple from New Hampshire staying as long as I was during the week. TV is perfect, they have all the channels, you can watch anything after you get home from your day of touring/ or in my case work. The only issue I was having was my keycard. First time the battery was dead in the door and the manager fixed it really quickly. Then sometimes the keys would de-magnatize if it was near my cell phone. But that happens sometimes. Hotel Tonight is how I found this place, and from Tuesday-Friday the rates I found were about 50 dollars a night! Unbelievably gorgeous hotel and what a deal!! Gorgeous place, wonderful staff, filling waffles, fruit, coffee, pastry breakfast. So delicious. STAY HERE FOR AN AMAZING TIME IF YOU VISIT MORRO BAY!

Easy check in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon, Mimi was right there at the desk, a genuine smile, she got me checked in and to my balcony room in short order. This was a Covid check in and there is no breakfast or cheese bar right now but hey... it's a nice place. The room was tastefully furnished, pretty drapes and new carpeting all looked great. The sink and counter were next to the separate shower and toilet room. There was a coffee maker, small fridge, and a small microwave. I'm pretty sure a hair dryer was on the wall near the sink & vanity area. The french doors opened to a small balcony with a small table and a couple of chairs. Our view was street side but the ocean breeze was delightful and refreshing. Yes the hotel is on Main street and traffic can be heavy but not necessarily so during Covid days. The consolation is that you are a couple blocks away from "downtown" and walking distance from the Embarcadero but uphill on the way back. As I write this I have booked another stay at this property, I've tried several bargain places in town but the few extra bucks here is well worth the price. My complements to the staff and the management team Thank you- Foodguy, Martin

Queen size bed on a king headboard. I didnt take a picture of the bandaid on the floor...that just gross
    Ryan C.

I checked in for a two night stay to a deluxe suite with a king size bed and balcony. The room shared a wall with the lobby and offered no privacy. There was a bandaid on the floor when we checked in. The room was not clean, at least not to a high standard of cleanliness. The bed was a queen and not a king size mattress. I sleep on a Cal King at home and am familiar with the size, one of the employees I spoke with said their mattresses are all cal kings. I addressed my issue with the bed size and explained I had paid a premium for the king size bed. Three different staff members argued with me rather than ever verify my claim on three separate occasions. They refused to do anything to correct or confirm the issue. When I checked out the person at the front desk was impolite and unprofessional. I'm appalled at the customer service I received while I stayed there. I will never return or recommend this hotel to anyone I know.

Empty conditioner. Annoying should have checked before I got in.

I had read several reviews for this place saying how comfortable the beds were and how nice the rooms were. At that time the nicest woman showed us every room layout they had, even let us sit on the beds to test out the comfort level. The beds we sat on were way better than the other place. We also liked the different layouts of the rooms- the one with 2 separate bedrooms and the one with the kitchenette were our favorites- but we felt, at the time we could enjoy any of the rooms. They are also dog friendly if you aren't in the kitchenette room The reviews from before talked about a wonderful breakfast brought to your room each morning. When I mentioned it, the woman said they just discontinued that- the woman who was making the items had gone back to school in the mornings. She said they would be giving each guest a breakfast voucher for various small businesses in the area. This sounded like a great way to try out new places I asked if all the rooms had a fridge and microwave. We were assured they all did We booked thru a 3rd party for this trip. We stayed 3 nights- arriving Monday around 5 pm of Thanksgiving week There was a young man in the office when we arrived who said we were the last to check in for the evening He gave us our room keys and showed us the map on the wall to direct us to our rooms. He also told us parking is first come first served. We went to our room to store our belongings before heading out to dinner. I didn't see a microwave in my room- a must for my neck and back warmer for a recent injury. I went back to the office to request one. I was told he would look for one and get back to us. He came to our room 5 minutes later saying he couldn't find one. I explained I had been promised one by the nice lady when we came to look at the inn- he said she no longer worked there. That he had only been there a week He said he would call his manager and get back to us- but he left for the night without an update We asked him how to work the fireplace- but he didn't know We also asked to not have the maids come to the room while we were out. He said they don't come at all during your stays There is a binder in the room that tells you about the fireplace, as well as the location of some lockers to get "amenities" The locker has towels, tp, tissues.... There were also bikes and body boards available for use The rooms have been updated- but once in the room, it didn't seem to us that they were done well The bathroom floor is very slippery- we had to lay down towels for safety. The shower was not hot thru the whole stay- and water pressure is almost nonexistent There is a sign up in the bathroom about a 5 minute shower- no way you would get the conditioner out of your hair with no water pressure The fireplace wasn't working well... the tiniest of red on a log- and you can't really enjoy it from the bed. The tv is mounted above the fireplace- but it doesn't swivel- so you can't see it well from the bed The WiFi is a joke The beds were not as comfy as other guests reported- more were they as nice as the ones we had been shown a few weeks ago. We were in room 3 pacifica- they showed us rooms on the other side of the hotel The 2nd day we found a nice woman working in the office who was able to bring us a microwave. She did there were about 6 in the storage area. I asked if maybe the first guy didn't know where to look- she said that's where they always keep them. She stayed to make sure it worked when we plugged it in- the whole outlet didn't work in the front room The ironing board was broken- we were going to use it as a shelf for storage. The closest only had 1 hanger in it and 1 bathrobe. Which seemed odd there wouldn't have been 2. The coffee was in tiny refillable canisters. We brought our own coffee maker and coffee so wasn't an issue for us- but we both thought it didn't seem sanitary The fridge never did get cold enough- even though we had it on the coldest setting- so we ended up mostly using our big beach cooler In the 2nd day they cut back all the palm trees- grateful the woman who brought us the microwave warned us and we were able to move our car. We asked her if they would trim the ones right in front of our room- we had several stairs up to get in our room- and the palm fronds would smack you in the face when you tried to carry your stuff in and out. They did cut that back- very helpful But we were stuck in our room while the work was done. It was very loud There was always plenty of parking We didn't feel the beds we had were as comfortable as the ones in the other side of the inn- in room 3 the queen sized bed felt better then the king When we checked out it was another young man who also seemed new and inexperienced Hoping there is more training for the entire staff so everyone is on the same page

Shortly after using a remote check-in service, I was locked out of my room and there was absolutely zero management onsite at this property...from early afternoon until the next day after 10am. That's also what a lot of reviews said. Gabby would do best working as a prison guard where she can exercise her authority as a self-proclaimed bully. Better yet, she should retire as she would likely be fired as being a bully is not okay, unless you're Gabby. Hope the owners know what she is doing to the property. P.S. I also got bedbugs here. You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Genuinely friendly and helpful - great recommendations, warm greetings, and they actually acknowledge you as a member (which, let's be honest, doesn't always happen everywhere). Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast.
