Location is great. The rooms were pretty standard but we enjoyed it. Some things in the room were broken which left us a little disappointed. One reading light didn't work, fan made a loud squeaking noise, the refrigerator was also very loud. Unfortunately the guests staying next to us were very noisy late into the night and the walls are very thin but that's not the property's fault. With everything said we probably would still stay there again

This was a great little hotel that I booked at the last minute. Nice and clean, and priced well. The service was great! Love how they communicate via text to check with you about your stay.

My best friend is addicted to Morro Bay because when it's sunny, it's beautiful and because you are seriously close to otters. I mean really, those otters are all over the place in the water and they are so punchably cute. Plus there's the Morro Bay Rock which just sits there majestically and come sunrise or sunset, it cuts a romantic figure with a sailboat drifting off the shore. You can't help but take a great picture of it from almost anywhere in town. So my bestie picked this hotel for us because she wanted a patio with a view of the rock. It was a good choice. Even though it was cold, I liked having an outdoor patio with chairs to enjoy the sunset. I really loved how the room had real mugs with hotel branding for your morning hotel room coffee. I know that's a weird thing to take note of, but I've spent the last month living out of my suitcase, going from hotel to hotel and most places don't count on the kindness of their customers to not steal their hotel branded mugs. Usually it's styrofoam cups, but this was a nice touch. The hotel is clean, located in a not too sketch area. Even though there is a liquor store across the street with definitely sketchy characters, they don't come over. Besides, that liquor store is pretty cool because they have souvenirs and tons of wines and even travel sized bottles of booze and they have a lot of fun snacks.

This room is perfect for the price! Right next to a bottle store, walking distance to everything else. The ocean view rooms give you a great view of the rock with a little balcony to sit on. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are modern. They are very dog friendly, each time we've checked in with our dog they give us doggie bags and treats! They have a dog wash station and everything. This is our go to place in morro bay and can't wait to come back!

We do appreciate that this is a pet friendly hotel. They do not have breed or size restrictions like many hotels in the area. This is an absolute no frills hotel. We were disappointed that the staff that we loved back in November appear to no longer work here. It appears there has been a complete overhaul of staff from what we experienced last visit. The beds are very uncomfortable- they are very soft- if you like soft, then this is the hotel for you. Hubby and I both had the worst back pain here. The second night my hubby put 1 mattress on the ground- that helped a bit. As an added bonus, my sweet Fuzzy was able to join me on the bed. These beds are super high, and she isn't able to jump up on them. They do give you a little swag bag when you check in for your pup, last time it had yummy treats inside that Fuzzy absolutely loved, and we were able to buy her more inside the gift shop in the lobby. This visit there was 1 Costco brisket inside and and a doggy poop bag holder with poop bags, they now have the hotel name on them. The room also had cups and mugs with their name on them- you can also now buy these in the gift shop as well. They now have beach things you can rent at the front desk- should you want, need anything. We do like that we are able to book a ground level room since we have a senior dog who can't climb stairs. We also like the patio area. There is a picnic table out there as well. However, you can hear the people above you. It sounded like they were bowling up above us. Also, 1 of the nights there were some guys above us who were sitting on their balcony drinking beers and cussing. We had the slider open originally to get the refreshing ocean breeze, but we didn't want to hear their conversation, and they kept chucking their bottle caps into our patio and laughing about it. I could see that 1 might have been a mistake... but 6, this was no accident.... plus the laughing Check-in time is 3pm, at 2:05 we received a text saying for $25 we could check in early. Check-out time is 11. We checked in just after 3, we were visiting with another couple who were interested in meeting our dog. We were telling them our favorite restaurant was Taco Temple, and they just have to go eat there. They will love it. The older woman working the desk interrupts us to say she hates Taco Temple. She said cabbage doesn't belong on a taco. Not sure why she had to interrupt us. We were having a nice conversation while she was checking other people in. What happened to if you don't have something nice to say.... There is plenty of parking here Easy walk to downtown MB Liquor Store across the street- great breakfast burritos

1st time staying at this inn with my dog Arrived a little after 430 to check in Located off Main Street near walking distance to old town Morro bay - liquor store literally across the street and walking distance to shops and eateries Free parking available Wifi available Pet friendly ($25 a night) plus taxes Camera on site Check in time after 3pm checkout 11am Check in was easy with ID and credit card Small washing station for your dog located right across check in area Vending machine for drinks / ice available In the room microwave / kurig coffee set up available / small fridge / sitting area - plantation shutters Walk unit ac / ceiling fan Plank style flooring Bathroom spacious with traditional set up and plus a small window Can hear through walls slightly and pincher bugs appeared out of now where which apparently is common for this time of year Location i felt was safe, lit well especially for solo traveler Couldn't hear other dogs barking or making noise Grass patches for dog needs along with being in an accessible neighborhood To walk to town small hill or walk through old town Morro bay and take the centennial stairs that will lead to "downtown" and everything connects A place I would return to along with my dog - accessible to the main sites, shops and restaurants, and reasonable rates compare to other places

This was great as it was quiet and I had a partial view of the rock and the beautiful sunsets.

I called the Beach Bungalow Inn & Suites directly and spoke with the manager, Gabriell J. She was a total professional. I was stressed and upset, but her calm and helpful demeanor completely turned things around. She went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of through the hotel itself. Lesson learned: always book directly! Not only is the customer service superior, but you get a better price, too. I will absolutely book directly with them for my next trip to Morrow Bay!

I had read several reviews for this place saying how comfortable the beds were and how nice the rooms were. At that time the nicest woman showed us every room layout they had, even let us sit on the beds to test out the comfort level. The beds we sat on were way better than the other place. We also liked the different layouts of the rooms- the one with 2 separate bedrooms and the one with the kitchenette were our favorites- but we felt, at the time we could enjoy any of the rooms. They are also dog friendly if you aren't in the kitchenette room The reviews from before talked about a wonderful breakfast brought to your room each morning. When I mentioned it, the woman said they just discontinued that- the woman who was making the items had gone back to school in the mornings. She said they would be giving each guest a breakfast voucher for various small businesses in the area. This sounded like a great way to try out new places I asked if all the rooms had a fridge and microwave. We were assured they all did We booked thru a 3rd party for this trip. We stayed 3 nights- arriving Monday around 5 pm of Thanksgiving week There was a young man in the office when we arrived who said we were the last to check in for the evening He gave us our room keys and showed us the map on the wall to direct us to our rooms. He also told us parking is first come first served. We went to our room to store our belongings before heading out to dinner. I didn't see a microwave in my room- a must for my neck and back warmer for a recent injury. I went back to the office to request one. I was told he would look for one and get back to us. He came to our room 5 minutes later saying he couldn't find one. I explained I had been promised one by the nice lady when we came to look at the inn- he said she no longer worked there. That he had only been there a week He said he would call his manager and get back to us- but he left for the night without an update We asked him how to work the fireplace- but he didn't know We also asked to not have the maids come to the room while we were out. He said they don't come at all during your stays There is a binder in the room that tells you about the fireplace, as well as the location of some lockers to get "amenities" The locker has towels, tp, tissues.... There were also bikes and body boards available for use The rooms have been updated- but once in the room, it didn't seem to us that they were done well The bathroom floor is very slippery- we had to lay down towels for safety. The shower was not hot thru the whole stay- and water pressure is almost nonexistent There is a sign up in the bathroom about a 5 minute shower- no way you would get the conditioner out of your hair with no water pressure The fireplace wasn't working well... the tiniest of red on a log- and you can't really enjoy it from the bed. The tv is mounted above the fireplace- but it doesn't swivel- so you can't see it well from the bed The WiFi is a joke The beds were not as comfy as other guests reported- more were they as nice as the ones we had been shown a few weeks ago. We were in room 3 pacifica- they showed us rooms on the other side of the hotel The 2nd day we found a nice woman working in the office who was able to bring us a microwave. She did there were about 6 in the storage area. I asked if maybe the first guy didn't know where to look- she said that's where they always keep them. She stayed to make sure it worked when we plugged it in- the whole outlet didn't work in the front room The ironing board was broken- we were going to use it as a shelf for storage. The closest only had 1 hanger in it and 1 bathrobe. Which seemed odd there wouldn't have been 2. The coffee was in tiny refillable canisters. We brought our own coffee maker and coffee so wasn't an issue for us- but we both thought it didn't seem sanitary The fridge never did get cold enough- even though we had it on the coldest setting- so we ended up mostly using our big beach cooler In the 2nd day they cut back all the palm trees- grateful the woman who brought us the microwave warned us and we were able to move our car. We asked her if they would trim the ones right in front of our room- we had several stairs up to get in our room- and the palm fronds would smack you in the face when you tried to carry your stuff in and out. They did cut that back- very helpful But we were stuck in our room while the work was done. It was very loud There was always plenty of parking We didn't feel the beds we had were as comfortable as the ones in the other side of the inn- in room 3 the queen sized bed felt better then the king When we checked out it was another young man who also seemed new and inexperienced Hoping there is more training for the entire staff so everyone is on the same page

Had a stay last year with this Hampton Inn and would go back if in the area…read more Check in was easy and the bed was so comfortable my wife wanted to buy the mattress for our house online since we were looking for one. We got consistently good sleep here. Breakfast had decent food including kielbasa one day. Access to CA-1 is easy and it's not far to drive to shopping, Morro Rock and Morro Bay. Plenty of parking, keep in mind the high school next door when you exit the hotel.

For a 3-star hotel, this Hampton Inn Morro Bay easily earns 4 stars from me…read more First, the good stuff: this place is really clean, comfortable bed, good pillows and nicely updated. You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Genuinely friendly and helpful - great recommendations, warm greetings, and they actually acknowledge you as a member (which, let's be honest, doesn't always happen everywhere). Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast.
