    Orchard Hill Farm

Who can describe peace & quiet? This place was wonderful. It was greater than expected. See the attached photos of the place. Deb and Doug left the duties of the place to Elissa & Scott as the aforementioned were vacationing. The breakfast meals were gourmet planned with extra care as to our likes and dislikes. We had eggs from their own chicken-laying hens. Elissa made sure our stay was a pleasant one, offering great suggestions on what to do in and around the area. She even made dinner reservations for us at a couple of nice places. We visited the neighboring wineries, a walnut farm & an actual olive oil manufacturing farm during the day. There is no question that this bed & breakfast is worth a 5-star rating! You will leave feeling refreshed and well taken care of.

Sorry for the late review... My husband and I stayed at this LOVELY inn back in August. I cannot say enough about our stay! WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT HERE! I highly recommend that you spend your special time there. I loved having privacy on the deck. We went wine tasting during the day and came back and enjoyed our wine with some nice cheeses we bought at the local store out on our lovely deck with a darling view of the other cottage. At the time noone had checked in so it was just us and so private! Even when the others checked in it was still private. If you want to impress your significant other...this is the perfect "getaway". Love the owners...they were very attentive and sweet. Enjoyed talking to them as well. Trust me...book this place...special touches everywhere...and just lovely! We literally felt we were in another country...not Paso! Thanks to the owners for providing a perfect getaway to make those sentimental memories! Hugs to you! Hope to see you again! (one more note...I enjoyed painting rocks Mandala style which is dot painting...very relaxing) Never done this before and I am not much of an artist...but I was able to have some peace and quiet there on the lovely deck...having the trees and plants blow in the breeze...along with the love birds chirping and playing in the lovely little fountain in the garden. While enjoying coffee and lemon cake provided by the owners. Such great memories!)

I suggest you drive up during the day time, because it can be a situation at night, if you have never been. We packed food and went into town to get charcuterie goodies and basically ate all our meals on the patio. The view is absolutely incredible at all times of the day. Bob Dunning is a great host and responds quickly to texts. There is an honor bar featuring their wine and because we never made it to their tasting, had to try. The villa is fully stocked with dishes, wine openers, glasses, mini fridge and reverse osmosis drinking water. Their air conditioning and heater work great, and we left windows open at night. I will use the most common review cliche and say, "the Dunning Guest Villa is a hidden gem in Paso"and that we will most definitely be back. Thank you Dunning estates for your hospitality.

Although we did not go to any of the wineries in the the area we were in the midst of scenic picturesque views in Paso Robles and its surrounding areas. We appreciated the welcoming hospitality of Amy and Tom for making us feel comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. From the creative and accommodating breakfasts (we're Vegans) to the comfortable bed we enjoyed while we were there. Amy made us some delicious Vegan chilaquiles for our first morning and Avocado toast on our second. Both breakfasts are making me hungry as I write this. I've never experienced a Bed and Breakfast but they really set the bar high for my personal expectations going forward. We were able to relax and watch the wild turkeys when we awoke to plan our days there. Thanks for providing the recommendations and giving us an insider perspective of what makes this area special. We look forward to sharing our experiences with our family and friends and will refer them to Creekside if they ever make the trip this way. Amy and Tom were very helpful and knowledgeable when making suggestions of places to visit to and the history of the area. We were sent out with maps and coupons for reduced-cost tasting. I love the grounds and character of this property and we enjoyed the charm of the Barrel Room. How suite it was! We definitely need to return just to finish visiting all of the places that were recommended to us! P.S If you enjoy clear skies for star gazing and seeing some cool animals doing animal things (they have 2 dogs and 2 cats) you'll enjoy the charm of this place as much as we did. Where else can you sleep in a comfortable bed, see wild turkeys and have a view of horses all in in the same space? Unless you are a farmer I doubt that you can answer that question because you haven't been here yet.

Our deepest apologies to Lisa and Rob that this review is so overdue…read more I found Kindred Oak Farm by perusing the internet, it looked absolutely stunning. I called to make a reservation and spoke to the owner, Lisa. She was so warm, accommodating, and helpful-when I hung up the phone, I said I could be friends with that gal. When my husband and I arrived we were greeted by the friendliest, most beautiful, Great Pyranese brother and sister duo, Auggie & Gigi. Then, we met Lisa. She was so welcoming to us and so beautiful inside and out. She explained everything to us, showed us our spectacular room, Adelaide, that was full of upscale amenities. The entire room and bath area was amazing. The grand fireplace, the bathtub for two, the linens on the bed, the fabulous bottle of wine-I could go on. Even the coffee was from a local, organic coffee maker. Now let's get to the three-course breakfast we were served everyday of our four-day stay. We felt like we were at a three-star Michelin restaurant that included incredible homemade juices by Lisa. Each course was so presented so elegantly, but also in an atmosphere that made you feel right at home. Of course we went wine tasting. Lisa and Rob (Lisa's husband and co-owner) recommended wonderful wineries that we went to, and we were very pleased. Everywhere we went I had to tell them where we were staying and how beautiful and relaxing the B&B was. Back on our first morning there, Rob had taken us for a tour of the farm where we saw the game room, wedding area, the vineyard, and my favorite-the beautiful highlander cattle. Such an experience-no wonder Lisa and Rob are so happy there. Also, an honorable mention goes out to Little Girl, their precious kitty. We will definitely be back and have told all of our friends about this heaven on earth B&B. Thank you, Lisa and Rob, for making my birthday a wonderful memory!

We stayed in the Oak Room which was very clean, well maintained, and so cozy. The views are incomparable. PS - the rooms do not have TV. Which was fine for us. There is a shared living room with a large TV and different options for music, for those that need it. The breakfast was amazing! Big compliments to the chef. Highlight of our experience. We enjoyed exploring the grounds. All the animals are very gentle. Wanted to see the cows, but couldn't find them. Detracting half a star to the overall review for: confusion on check-in & overnight dog barking. Upon arrival, We walked in with another couple, and there wasn't anyone to greet us for about 5 to 10 minutes. The other couple texted, called without connection. There were no instructions on checking in either. So we were just confused together for a while until our host appeared. In addition, a dog was barking intermittently the whole night, for both nights that we stayed. So that detracted a little but overall a good experience and would recommend.

They usually have fresh cookies, however there were none this trip. It didn't bother me so much but I did hear 2 other guests expressing their disappointment. When you set the standard and have repeat guests it's expected... The cheese trays are usually over the top (and they were the first night). See picture- however we had an extended stay this visit and they declined severely the last night- that was a bummer because we were looking forward to it during the day. Keep in mind there is no food in the evenings so eat before you come back or bring something back. Maria is wonderful to work with; prompt and complete communication about their services and what makes Dancing Deer special. This property offers a Friday-Sunday rental for weddings, events, retreats, and more! When we were touring, Maria shared a disaster emergency group would be staying there shortly to simulate rescue operations during a hurricane! Their status as an NPO and commitment to enriching the lives of others deeply resonates for me, and I encourage you to learn more about their programs when you meet with Maria. Selfless dedication to others is a rare gift and must always be treasured. They have lodging for up to 50 people in two homes. This is an important feature in our perfect venue as we are trying to achieve a more relaxed, "family reunion" type atmosphere at our nuptials. The homes are modestly appointed, but spacious and clean. The main home has a massive kitchen, large deck, and pool area with plenty of space to hang out and enjoy their property. Finally, let's talk about the actual "wedding" facilities and price! They have a sprawling private estate with tons of potential for the creative and adventurous bride, but they have an established ceremony area under a massive oak serving as an altar with a terraced seating area for guests. It offers a few different processional/entrance choices and is right next to the barn area for the reception. The barn has plumbed bathrooms, but with a high guest count, some rentals would be appropriate. There is also parking nearby. Having all the spaces to be used in one close area is nice for guest comfort so people aren't hiking all around just to get from ceremony to cocktails to dinner (especially the older folks). At Dancing Deer- YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR WEDDING! (within reason). You get to pick all your preferred vendors for everything!! Food, drink, booze of your choosing, rentals, decor, activities-EVERYTHING! This is important to the budget conscious and picky bride alike!! And while we're on the topic, Dancing Deer is able to offer remarkably competitive prices for their whole weekend rental- less than many "one day" venues (usually a 5-8 hour facilities rental). I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're wanting a true getaway feel with plenty of time to relax and enjoy your family and friends beyond the wedding event!

It was pretty awesome to wake up in the morning, look out the window and see a few deer or some peacocks wondering on the rolling hills and around the trees.
