I can't say enough about this marvelous property. From the moment we arrived, there was no stone left unturned. We stayed in the vintner's villa, which helped us to socially distance from other guests. The villa was very well appointed, very comfortable, and perfectly spacious for a family of 4. The Just Inn (and Justin Winery) is why you have vacation days! Don't forget to order the cheeseburger for lunch, it's the best I've ever had. And the four-course dinner with premiere wine pairings, will be a Michelin star experience very soon. Now is the time to book your reservation before it's impossible to get a table. Thank you again to Evan, Chef Rachel and the entire guest services staff.

This review is for Just INN, the hotel at Justin Winery. TL;DR HIGHLY recommend: clean, peaceful, lots of free stuff and discounts! Pros: - clean, well-appointed rooms--there are only three suites in the ~$400 per night range, so book early! - breakfast is included - tons of freebies: a bottle of Justin wine in the room, tons of Fiji water, a few snack packs of almonds (Fiji's parent company owns Justin & wonderful almonds/pistachios, too) - complimentary tasting or tour or both (just not on the same day, per CA ABC regulations, or so we were informed!)--call them before you arrive if you want to do the tour! - 20% off in the gift shop/tasting room, including wines! Cons: - narrow check-in window--approximately 3 pm to 5:30 pm - spotty cell reception (you may have to rely on guest wifi) - if the restaurant is closed, you have to drive west to the coast (Cambria, for example) or east back into Paso Robles to eat Logistics: - it's about 13 miles/25 minutes without traffic to downtown Paso Robles will definitely return!

The fireplace in our room, which was set up so nicely for our arrival.

The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and liquid hand soap so no need to bring your own. Just be careful eating outside as there are lots of seagulls However they were friendly All day in the lobby you can get hot tea and hot chocolate along with fruit and cereal. From 8 am to 10 am they add coffee. From 4 pm to 5 pm they have beer and wine available They also have sugars and creamers available Breakfast is included each morning. You fill out a card with your choices and drop it at the front desk before 5 pm the night before. You can also leave it hanging on your door. Each morning you can have a pastry or quiche, flavors change daily. They also have yogurt, hard boiled egg, fruit, orange juice or milk. We had the quiche each morning and they were delicious. You can also choose what time between 8 am and 10 am you would like it delivered. Each afternoon freshly baked cookies are placed in your door hanging in a cute bag. The oatmeal and chocolate chip were amazing. If you want excellent service and amenities then this should be your choice. Very personal service, amazing location and quiet. Perfect setting for an anniversary or just a weekend getaway! Cons: Beds need a topper and pillows are deflated. Although I love the inn my sleeping wasn't 5star. They usually have fresh cookies, however there were none this trip. It didn't bother me so much but I did hear 2 other guests expressing their disappointment. When you set the standard and have repeat guests it's expected... The cheese trays are usually over the top (and they were the first night). See picture- however we had an extended stay this visit and they declined severely the last night- that was a bummer because we were looking forward to it during the day. Keep in mind there is no food in the evenings so eat before you come back or bring something back. They have a large fridge with your own shelf, plenty of drinks and options for coffees as well as fresh fruit out all the time.

We enjoyed exploring the grounds. All the animals are very gentle. Wanted to see the cows, but couldn't find them. Detracting half a star to the overall review for: confusion on check-in & overnight dog barking. Upon arrival, We walked in with another couple, and there wasn't anyone to greet us for about 5 to 10 minutes. The other couple texted, called without connection. There were no instructions on checking in either. So we were just confused together for a while until our host appeared. In addition, a dog was barking intermittently the whole night, for both nights that we stayed. So that detracted a little but overall a good experience and would recommend.

She immediately made us feel at home with her gentle spirit and genuine hospitality. We later met Rob, Lisa's husband, who was just as kind and welcoming. Lisa was especially sweet with our daughter--she spent time showing her around the farm, baking together in the kitchen, and exploring the beautiful herb garden. It meant so much to us to see that connection. The entire property is peaceful and stunning, with gentle rolling hills, goats, chickens, and cows (though we didn't spot the cows this time!). We also had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast most days with their wonderful chef, Dominique, who made such delicious food--everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. It was the perfect way to start each day. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations--from the thoughtful details throughout the property, to the calm, rejuvenating atmosphere. I chose the McCall Farm because it's halfway between wine tasting along highway 46 and the beaches of San Simeon with easy access to restaurants in Cambria. As expected, when it was cold and foggy a few miles away, the farm was sunny and warm, snuggled up against the hills. The valley road that the farm is on is lined with big oak trees and gorgeous hundred year old farm houses fenced in with white picket and flowers. Very romantic and relaxing. You can easily spend an afternoon on the porch here sitting in the rockers and petting the cats or dogs (if you like, they're fine either way). It's worth it to schedule your day around having wine and cheese here! There are only two rooms but they are equally charming with fresh flowers, handmade soaps and gorgeous views of the gardens and hillsides. Our bed was really creaky and it made us self conscious, the only negative of the experience. On the other hand, their room rates are far more reasonable than other choices in the area with a more gourmet breakfast. The people in the other room were polite and interesting, great company.
