This place is really well kept. The rooms and linens were clean and overall a nice stay. The rooms were also pretty quiet for a busy holiday weekend so that was a nice bonus. Unwind & relax were much appreciated. With that said, not sure if the price was worth it. It was on the higher end $500+/ night and totally get that everywhere around town was booked but we only had access to our room and outdoor shared space. I guess I thought the main lodge area with seating and farm style dining table would be open but it was all locked and dark. I think it's a lovely place but wouldn't stay here again. I'm sure others might like it for the price and location. There's lots to do around town so highly recommend visiting Paso Robles in general. read more

My friend heard wonderful things word-of-mouth from her friend who's been here twice. She booked a girls trip for 6 girls for her 40th. Even though the weather was rainy, the property is exquisite and exceeded expectations with the level of detail. Steve and Amy were both very helpful and responsive. Steve built a fire for us :) Every room has drinking water pitchers and glasses, there's a huge library of books, records, etc. The price is very reasonable for what you get! This place is so dreamy! My husband and I stayed here for two nights (far too few) on our Central Coast mini-honeymoon last month, and it was the perfect place to decompress, thanks to the idyllic hilltop setting, in-room Jacuzzi tub in our suite, luxury linens and comfortable bed, and all of the small details from the photography, carefully chosen books, quality toiletries, and more. Tamara, the inn-keeper, was the perfect hostess. She makes incredible and healthy breakfasts, with some ingredients from the gardens, and even though she is new to the area is very helpful with suggestions on where to go and what to do. She even went out of her way to ship us my husband's jacket and some shirts which he left in the armoire, which we really appreciated. When booking I debated between which room to stay in because they all looked beautiful, but I chose the Maria Sabina Suite and loved it. The aforementioned Jacuzzi tub looked out onto a small wrought-iron balcony overlooking a gorgeous Oak tree. The bed was hard to pull myself away from in the morning, and the hammock on the balcony was so relaxing that I fell asleep mid-afternoon, something I rarely do. I'm never planning to get married again, but I am certainly intending to return to Inn Paradiso for special occasions, or when in need of a getaway. read more

Spacious, interesting, luxurious, romantic, extraordinary....only touch the surface of this unusual place. Photos and descriptions do not do it justice! You have to experience it for yourself. The inn-keepers were gracious and accommodating, making delicious locally sourced, organic dishes. The bath products were heavenly. I loved opening the windows and doors to feel like I was outside, living in the tops of the oak trees. Close to town, yet private and secretive. Like walking onto a vegetarian James Bond set, this lovely inn is full of delightful and well-curated pieces of 60's nostalgia. It feels like you've sneaked into a wealthy architect's vacation home circa 1969. Consider wearing plaid pants. I spent 3 nights with friends for Memorial Day weekend. We all heard great things about the Inn and hotels, like Cheval, were booked so we thought we'd give it a try. Tamara was very helpful in terms of booking. There were 4 of us and we took over all 4 rooms. Tamara is a chef and cooked a great breakfast every day. The place is very quiet, which is nice, and I would say very rustic. If that's your thing, this is a good place for you. I have a few specific comments, below. This is not a dog friendly place. They say they are dog friendly, and they're pretty clear about the parameters on their website, but with 2 of us bringing dogs, it was difficult that they couldn't be anywhere but the grounds outside and one of the rooms that allowed dogs. More about that room later. We simply thought they would be allowed in the "lobby" if you call it that. Onto the rooms...they really differ too much in terms of likability and comfort. One of our friends booked the greatest room with a lot of light and a gorgeous tub. My room was dark on one side...cute...nice tub...but not as nice for the same price. I also had a spider in my room, which I put a cup over figuring the maid would take it away...instead, she moved the cup and left the spider there and I found it waiting for me on the bedside table when I got in. Not cool. Never, ever, book the room that allows dogs. It's in my opinion ugly, dark and sort of gross. The room is small and has spiral stairs up to a small loft which look liked it needed a freshen...then a little alcove on top of that, which we were all scared to climb up to. My friend nearly slipped on the stone in the bathroom. It's dark and just not a room that they should charge around $400 for. Another comment with respect to the Inn, and this is picky because Tamara's breakfast was great...but a lot of people don't drink regular coffee and are looking for lattes (like me). I understand not investing in an expensive cappuccino maker, but a small one would be great or even a milk foamer. I had to wait until we all got ready to go downtown and get my latte every day. I think the biggest gripe, for me, are the rooms and the lack of consistency. Yes, it's a B&B and they vary, but spending $1200+ for 3 nights I expect a similar room as my friends. read more

Stay here. Period. The folks here run a gorgeous inn - from the high end sheets and amenities (including house-made bath salts) to the terrific, locally sourced breakfast. The story behind the buildings is almost as compelling as the experience we had - turns out they were owned by a drug dealer and, when he was arrested, their seizure resulted in the sale of the property to someone who built it out as an inn. The current owners bought the place in 2009 or 2010 and now operate a really tranquil retreat. It's perfect for nearly any visit to the Paso Robles area. Be sure to leave a bit of time and liver capacity to taste some of the incredible bootleg tequila that they bring in from Mexico a bottle or two at a time; it's some of the best I've had. read more

This is hands down THE BEST place to stay in Paso Robles. Not only is the property absolutely amazing, but the inn keepers, Colleen & Tanner were true gems. They were so gracious, knowledgeable and accommodating. Lots of attention to details. The breakfast was locally sourced, and made with LOVE. The owner, Steve is also gracious and welcoming, his eye for furniture is not to be missed. The entire place was adorned with magical pieces from near and far, adding a unique mysticism to the place. My husband and 5 year old just got back from an amazing few days away at Inn Paradiso! This place to so charming, relaxing and comfortable. Tova, the woman who runs the Inn is very warm and knowledgable about the area (restaurants, vineyards, etc.) Tova also makes an increable breakfast, not to be missed!! Inn Paradiso is awesome and unique. It is beautiful, comfortable and furnished with an eclectic and very cool style. Sculptures and art pieces are scattered throughout the property. The main common room has an amazing fireplace, huge windows with interesting couches and furniture to sit and read or relax and look out at the nature surrounding. Our room was the Carlo Molino suite which we loved. It is light and airy with many windows, nice bedding and a huge jacuzzi tub and shower. Tova, the inn keeper, welcomed us with love from the moment we got there. She was warm and lovely and prepared the most gorgeous breakfast of a leek frittata, cheese and croissant with beautiful fig jam and fresh squeezed orange juice. My discerning boyfriend and I just spent a relaxing, romantic weekend here and we were beyond impressed. The staff, service, and amenities were impeccable. The property is sprawling allowing you the option to seek solace (by the pool/hot tub or in a hammock nook) or mingle with other guests, the staff, or the owners in the main house. It is located minutes away from downtown Paso Robles but is secluded enough that there is no noise or bustle. We had the luxury of staying in two different rooms during our stay. Each had so much character and was decorated flawlessly. The food is "farm to table" and delicious. The staff is incredibly attentive and provides very personal service. The innkeeper waited up past midnight to let us into our room after we ran into some traffic and took care of us the entire weekend: booking restaurants, recommending wineries, texting us in the evenings to ask what time we wanted breakfast, etc. She couldn't have been more accommodating and personable. This was my second experience with a bed and breakfast. I came here thinking it was a hotel, because the first bnb I stayed at scared me away from ever wanting bnbs. However, had this lovely, intimate, romantic, exclusive inn been my first bnb, that's all I ever would stay at, ever. Yes, this is another five-star review. First of all, there are four rooms, max. No kids are allowed. Only one room takes pets but the innkeeper, Tamara, told us hardly anyone takes animals. We stayed in that suite. I didn't see any pet stains and nothing smelled like animals. This is the Antoni Gaudí Loft. You prepay for the room, but Tamara also showed us the Octavio Paz Suite. We opted for the Antoni. Anyway, my point is that for such a beautiful, massive property, you're only going to run into 3 other couples at the max, assuming the occupancy is full. You'll most likely see them at breakfast since Tamara's organic, healthy, delicious 2-course breakfast is served only between 9a-10a (which is included in your rate). You will not be hungry after this breakfast. I wish someone served me this type of breakfast every day. I'd definitely be more fit. Back to the Antoni. The room is slightly cooler because it's not connected to the main house. It's connected to Tamara's living area, where only a small entrance is shared. The suite feels more like a cabin. However, if you run the wall heater, which sounds like rain, and the bathroom space heater, it gets very cozy. The suite has three levels. If you are overweight, you will most likely not make it to the second and third levels. The spiral staircase is narrow to ascend to the second level which is a small seating area. The third level can be reached by an iron ladder that involves a bit of upper body effort, but then you're in the meditation space, with beautiful windows, and two mediation seats as well as a bean bag chair. The bathroom on the bottom level has beautiful custom redwood designs on the sink, toilet, door, and frame. The tub is amazing. You feel like you're in an outdoor spa. You're literally bathing on stones. I didn't take a bath, just incredible showers, but salts are available should you indulge. Despite the stones, it was very comfortable and pleasurable. The toiletries smell great and I liked the face spray which I never received before staying at a hotel. My only request would be a small mouthwash and that the lotion be replaced, as that was missed on our second night, probably unintentional. They threw away the used toiletries and replaced them with brand new ones. Oh, and the towels... so many luxurious Wamsutta towels. More than you'd need. If you love towels, you'll be happy. You also get your pick of a spa robe or a light robe. Both options are available for each person. Then there's the huge bed. It was great. I just wish I had more than one pillow, for just me. There were more in the closet but I wasn't sure if the pillow case was replaced so I just used the one. Also, for the bathroom, Tamara if you're reading this, I'd recommend putting a plastic cap over that little metal piece that holds the shower curtain to avoid an accidental, painful step. Pro-tip: If you do stay in the Antoni, which I recommend, bring ear plugs as you might hear the occasional woodpecker here and there. Also, bring a sleep mask as the blinds and skylights let in light. One of the pros, and cons, of being in nature. If you want a more living room-esque vibe, the Octavio was great, or just walk over to the lodge. There's a huge seating area in there and you'll most likely be alone. It's a ten-second walk from the room. Anyway, if you are one that loves details, you'll love this property. The rooms are decorated carefully and welcomingly. Each room is unique. Each room is spacey and each room has a secluded outdoor area. The room we turned down was the Octavio. This room was beautiful, as well. It had a separate and closer parking area. It had a more feminine and modern feel and was very cozy and warm. It was incredibly spacey and would make most apartment renters envious. Although it's on the bottom floor, unlike the Maria and Carlo, it has sound-proofing. Since it's adults only, you won't hear kids running above you. It's also much warmer since it's in the lodge with the main area, the kitchen and dining space, and the two other rooms. The Maria and the Carlo were occupied so I can't comment on them, but I bet they're beautiful, judging by the two rooms I saw. As for the innkeeper, Tamara, she is wonderful. She can read people well. She won't make you feel obligated to talk if you rather be left alone. If you feel chatty, she's happy to respond. She is professional and warm with great cooking and people skills. You can tell that she really wants you to have a wonderful time. As for our choices, we were deciding between here and Hotel Cheval. I am loathe to write a review of a place I have never been to, a review that is based on an experience that never got passed the booking phase, but I need to share it nonetheless. I booked a weekend at the end of September, based on a recommendation from a friend. The woman who took my reservation is Amber, and she never told of their cancellation policy at the time of booking. In addition to that, their cancellation policy is not listed on their website, nor did I ever receive the confirmation email they claimed they sent (they mistyped the email address in their system). So when it came time to unfortunately have to cancel the reservation due to work, I called five days before our reservation, thinking that was more than sufficient. The owner Dawna told me at that time that they had a 14 day cancellation policy but since they were going through "managerial problems" at the time of my booking, she would give me a full refund. I was not given any refund. And now Dawna is in Mexico and the new manager, Tanner, says I was never promised a refund (as per their booking notes and some correspondence between him and her). He says he has to follow policy, period, despite the fact that I am fully certain I was promised differently due to bad management at the time of booking. Now this is the kicker: During our correspondence about why the credit wasn't given, Tanner sent me a copy of the confirmation letter that was supposedly sent to me when I booked the room. I pointed out to him that AMBER HAD ENTERED THE WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS - the reason I never was made aware of their cancellation policy - and STILL they will not acknowledge that this is their mistake, not mine, and he will not refund me the $763. All he has offered is a credit for ONE night, not the two that I already paid for at the time of the booking. I tried to follow up a couple times and they have ignored me. I'm sure the place is gorgeous, and that if you go you will love it, but now I don't even want to use the one night's credit because the whole experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth. I don't want to go out of obligation; I want to go with a good feeling in my heart. I want to be as excited as I was at the time when I initially made the reservation. I am thoroughly dismayed and disappointed at how this whole situation was handled. I don't know why they didn't just own up to their mistake and refund me the full amount, or give two night's stay. They have handled this situation so incredibly poorly and it's a real shame. Hopefully their customer service has improved since this happened. Hopefully they will note their cancellation policy on their website. Hopefully they will honor their promises. Hopefully... If you need to cancel - make sure to do it 14 days in advance, or else... read more

How can I even begin to describe how great this place is? First of all, I'm putting it under a cone of invisibility so I can stay there whenever I want because you won't be able to find it. Second of all, the property is gorgeous -- if you're into mid-century design that's warm and real then you'll love it. Finally the inn keepers Tanner and Colleen are the jam. Not only are they cool and nice and helpful, they cook like rock stars. They make breakfast every morning and it's fantastic. World's best pancake and it was good for me -- how can I even? And you can hire them to cook dinner for you at the inn beside a crackling fire . We were so happy with our experience we booked July 4th weekend before we even left. read more

Amber, Steve, and the rest of the staff were there when you needed them, and know exactly what people crave when they want to get away for a quiet, über-relaxing time: organic breakfast, in-room jacuzzi bath plus ginormous, beautiful shower (I would stay in the Carlo Molino room again in a minute), in-room french press coffee (as if they knew that i cant face the day without a cup first thing in the morning!), hammock, pool, cozy deck seating perfect for bringing dinner back from town, and boutique tequila toast per arrival. Tamara the host was more then helpful, she guided us on what wineries were white wine heavy since I'm not a huge red wine fan. We went biking and explored the area, returning to an impeccably clean room with all the sweet touches of rosemary and fresh water waiting for us. Breakfast was top notch, we always looked forward to seeing what Tamara expertly cooked for us, never disappointed. We didn't use the pool but it was always kept very clean and at night it is lit up. What a wonderful place and experience. This small inn has everything we looked in a place to stay. We discovered something new in every corner. The rooms were extremely comfortable with a wonderful bathroom. The Inn hostess, Tova made the experience complete. It was a perfect place to stay and relax after a day of wine tasting. My husband and I spent four amazing days at this lovely gem of a bed and breakfast. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts, and small boutique hotels and Inn Paradiso was by far the best we have ever experienced. Our room was extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. The breakfast served each morning was top notch-healthy, delicious, and portion size was perfect. The inn is situated perfectly as well. The property has a peaceful, country vibe, but downtown is just a few minutes drive away, where you can eat at great restaurants, and walk around the cozy down town area. This Inn was about a hundred dollars a night more than than the two fancy, chain hotels, but it was worth the difference. The manager, Tamara, contacted me by text earlier in the day to find out if there were anything special I needed--something i have never experienced before. The Inn is located in the country but still a close two miles to town--so you can enjoy the sounds and views of being out of town but enjoy the close proximity of downtown restaurants. The estate is large with lovely trees and landscaping and a large pool (non-heated but we swam in the late afternoon and it was just perfect). Our room was spacious and had a jacuzzi as well as an extra large shower. The bed was comfortable. We had a two balcony's--one with a view of the hills outside and another with a view of the Great Room inside, which is a common area. We had a coffee press with great coffee set up to go and some complimentary pistachios and butter brickle. Breakfast was outstanding--tasty, healthy and all organic. We chose this place partly because the breakfast is so good and vegetarian--if you want steak and bacon and that matters to you, go somewhere else. Both breakfasts were filling, tasty, and homemade--something you never get with your big hotel "breakfasts" in America. There is a huge common room that is beautiful architecturally and quite comfortable. I will come again when I want a special treat. read more
