Absolutely loved our stay here! The motel has a boutique vibe with lots of beautiful upgrades. The complimentary wine hour was such a nice touch. We loved being able to borrow bikes to explore the area. The pool area was super cute with a great bar, perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. Staff was friendly, everything felt clean and well-maintained, and overall it was such a great experience. Definitely would stay again!

I'm not a motel person since I'm a bit bougie, but after seeing the pics of River Lodge online I decided to book a room for a recent work trip. I could not love this place more! Easy to find and tons of free parking out front in their lot. When I went to check in at the front desk I was greeted by Hope who was so nice, welcoming, and fun to chat with. One great bonus is that if you need anything at all during your stay you can text the property and someone is there to help you. The room was awesome! Quite spacious and hip with great details throughout and a cute corner fireplace by the mini bar. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom was spacious and very clean, and my room had a little lawn in front of it with a hammock which added to the charm. The bar was great as well! Peter could not have been nicer or more accommodating, especially since I walked up 10 minutes after the bar closed and he still made me a Martini when he could have just offered a glass of wine. The food at the restaurant on-site was great, too, and love that you can have it delivered to your room. An excellent plus to the pool area is that it's 21+ over so you don't have to listen to the shrill sounds of children when trying to relax. One last thing to note is there's a drive thru Starbucks less than a 2 minute drive from River Lodge, as well as a few other businesses in case you forgot something or want to grab a cookie at Crumbl. I will definitely be back on my next work trip, this motel was pure magic!

I really enjoyed my stay here. They had early wonderful decor and aesthetic. It was also very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed the fireplace because it was winter and it had a little bit of an ambience. I think it was very cozy and they just hit the mark on style.

Our stay at River Lodge was nothing short of perfect. We arrived and were amazed with the thoughtfulness of each detail in the rooms and pool area. The staff were kind and helpful, especially Michael and Mina. We will definitely be visiting the sister hotels and will be back here!

Where do I begin... Seriously, me and my wife found River Lodge in a pretty random way, and since then my life has changed completely. Our first stop at RL (That's what the locals call it) was an overnight stay, and honestly it felt like a lifetime. We had the best night of our lives. THEN, we came back months later, because when you try it once, there's no going back. We bought the day pool pass and it could have been 300$ each, and I would've bought it. The pool is so nice and warm, the bar full of friendly staff, and the drinks cool and crisp. Tons of space to lounge. I'm not joking when I say you need to go here, PLEASE! This sounds like a joke but I'm so serious. GO HERE! Also if you know me and think this review is a joke, call me. I will expand upon this even more.

    Cocktails and food were amazing!

Our friend recommended us to stop by and have lunch and wow we fell in love! The perfect retro motor inn throwback! The food the sights and the staff were on point! The server named Andrea was amazing! Friendly helpful and made the experience even better! We will be back to stay soon!

Recently opened and stayed for 3 nights. The renovation is great and has good vibes. The rooms are cozy and well designed. The towels are big and plush and so nice. Soap and lotion all smell relaxing and spa like. The pool area is beautiful and has very comfortable lounge chairs/beds. There's a decent size spa and two fire pits on the property. They have bikes you can check out and ride the area. Very cool and fun perk. The bar and restaurant staff are great and the drinks are good. They have a breakfast layout in the morning. Croissants, yogurt, fruit and coffee. The coffee was not super strong and I wish they switched up the baked goods but good. Biggest issue is finding the lobby. It's in the middle of the property with no signage. With all being said, loved the property and staff and had a great stay.

The Mrs. and I spent one night at the River Lodge this week. Lodging options have gotten pretty luxurious in Paso Robles over the last 20 or so years. The River Lodge sits in a good location. It's very close to the wineries on the west side of the 101 and about one exit down from Spring Street which is the Paso Robles's main road. It is across the street from a small shopping mall with a Target and a few other shops and restaurants. We arrived on Monday afternoon around 3. Pre-check in was done via email short of assigning a room. We then made our way to the lobby and were greeted by Hope. She quickly finished checking us in and assigned us room 21. Room 21 is a large room with a king bed. The decor is minimal but eclectic and comfortable. The bathroom was pretty big. There is a walk-in shower with a small bench built into the wall. There is a separate vanity space with a large mirror and counter. A large closet the houses a small refrigerator. The bed was probably the most comfortable motel bed I've ever slept on. The pillows were large and plentiful. The linens were soft and luxurious. Each room has its own front porch with two chairs and a hammock and a small fenced in yard. There is a pool, which is heated, and a jacuzzi. The pool area houses the restaurant and bar called Ciao Papi. We had a few drinks at the bar and they were good. Ciao Papi is entirely outdoors so you are at the mercy of the elements when you dine. It was about 53 degrees Monday night so the restaurant wasn't busy at all. I only have a few minor negative comments. The first one is we ordered a pizza through room service. It was delivered with no plates or napkins. None are provided in the room. We ended up eating our pizza on some napkins that were in my wife's purse. The second was the bathmat is on a towel bar inside the shower and washcloths aren't hanging in the shower area they are on the vanity. When I realized this I had to get out of the shower and retrieve one. The floor is made of tile and can get pretty slippery. The water pressure in the shower was weak but that is to be expected in older buildings but it seemed to me that the shower head was smaller than the space it occupied. The staff we encountered were very friendly. All of them on the younger side and all very eclectic which added to the charm of the River Lodge. They all seemed to genuinely care about providing a great guest experience.

Wow, what a fantastic stay. We visited Paso in one of the hottest weeks of the year, and were so happy to have chosen River Lodge as our lodging. The room was incredibly clean and well appointed. We loved the style and decorative elements, that all felt very polished and cohesive. There are hammocks outside the rooms, as well as your own small yard/lawn area. Great little rooms. The pool and bar were also great. Pool was not overly crowded despite the weather and the fact that there was no vacancy one night. The bar had everything you could want, and specialty cocktails were also very nice. We felt so relaxed after our stay. Definitely recommend!

River is lodge a completely renovated midcentury modern roadside motel dream! The designers here did not miss a single thing. Everywhere you look there are such thoughtful and cute details: the custom furniture, the tiles, the room key hooks, I could go on and on! This place is styled to an absolute t. The pool is the true gem of this property and you feel absolutely transported kicked back on a comfy lounger with a drink from the bar...and it's heated! We were here for one night in a classic king which included a fireplace and front porch with a hammock. The room was spacious and well laid out, the shower towels were super soft and the body care products smelled heavenly. We slept so well in the comfy king bed and loved the croissants they served for breakfast from the local bakery. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and attentive, and we had dinner at Ciao Papi which was delicious. Couple of things to note: Check your pre arrival email the day of because when you get there it's difficult to know where to park and find the lobby as there are no signs. They've only been open for two weeks so hopefully they'll have better signage soon. As far as noise goes, all of the rooms surround the pool and they play music until 10pm so if you are needing to go to bed very early this may not be the best choice for you. The windows are thin and they do let in a lot of sound from the outside (including your neighbors who might be enjoying their hammocks), however, the actual room walls themselves are super thick and we couldn't hear anything from the people on either side of us at night. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and wished it was longer. We will absolutely be back next time we are in Paso. I have a feeling this is about to be the new hot spot in town!

Love this place. The room was great and the pool was amazing with the bar and cafe! We hiked in the morning and spent the rest of the day by the pool. Service was perfect. Then, every evening we would enjoy a great meal in downtown Paso Robles.

Such a cute boutique style motel. Rooms are pretty spacious for being revamped from an older style motel. Free wine tasting when you check in. Each room has a patio with a hammock. Rooms are decorated nicely with a small fireplace inside. Pool is nice with multiple lounge beds. Nice bar poolside. On Saturday there is a DJ at the pool.

They completed a remodel about a year ago, and it was definitely needed the updated look feels fresh, modern, and inviting. The location is fantastic, conveniently situated near many of Paso Robles' amazing wineries and perched on a hill with beautiful views. I also love that they showcase local wineries, featuring monthly vineyard spotlights and wine tastings on select days. Another pleasant surprise is the restaurant. The food is genuinely delicious, which isn't always the case with hotel dining. They frequently offer great specials, such as half-price appetizers and complimentary corkage on your first bottle of wine on select days. It's rare to find a hotel that delivers great rooms, excellent service, and quality dining all in one place. I always enjoy my stay and look forward to coming back!

It honestly made me wonder--if this is what they provide for guests with disabilities, that's concerning. The shower knob was broken, there was an old leather jacket left in the closet, and there was barely any countertop space in the bathroom. Along with several other minor issues, it was clear the room hadn't been properly checked or cleaned. To their credit, the staff was friendly and quickly moved me to another room, which I appreciated. That said, for a hotel of this caliber, you'd expect at least complimentary coffee--but there wasn't any. They do have a restaurant that opens at 7:00 AM, but when I arrived right at 7:00, it wasn't open. An employee mentioned the staff was running late--it was already 7:10 AM by then. Not a great look. I've stayed at the Courthouse Marriott before, where they offer free coffee and breakfast, and in hindsight, I wish I had stayed there again. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning here.

This has been the only hotel that charges a parking fee. The ones closer to downtown doesn't even charge anything. It took me a while to set up pay to park, which was not fun after a long day of work. My 1st night I amlost fell on toilet because they are super low. They are elementary school sized toilets. As someone else mentioned, the big gap underneath the door makes it easier to hear everyone. The 1st night I heard some lady have a long conversation at 11 pm and on. My last day, someone's phone vibrated at 5am, 5:15 and 5:30am and I thought it was my phone bc of the thin walls. That person also had a full on conversation with his partner, so needless to say I gave up on sleeping until 730 am. Another thing I didn't like is the lack of black out curtains. So the sunrise would wake me up the first couple more nights. Room does have a nice size and I like how it has a desk. Wish there was a light switch to turn on more lights in the room, instead of individually flipping on all the lights. Other amenities they offer are free breakfast, mini gym and computer to do office or emails. I had stomach issues 2 days in a row from their breakfast so I started to stick with fruits and coffee for breakfast. I'm pretty sure the yogurt gave me issues because it's just yogurt on an ice pack on the bottom vs other places having yogurt in the fridgator or some container that looks like it stays cooler. The gym had a couple treadmills, free weights, kettle bells, the jumping box thingy, and a thing that looks like a bow flex. I personally would not book this place ever again due to paying to park, not having to have good sleep due to thin walls and gap underneath the door and the food giving me stomach issues. But I will say staff is friendly tho!

I don't know why, but I always thought that Paso Robles or "Paso" as it's referred to, was some Podunk town that just wasn't worth stopping for. Yeah, I've passed it so many times while traveling North on "THE 101" or simply "101" as they refer to it in NorCal.... ;) (IYKYK) And all those times I've passed through, I've never once thought about pulling off the freeway to see what Paso was all about. Well, just like Julia Robert's character said in Pretty Woman while shopping on Rodeo Drive.... "Big Mistake. Big. HUGE!" Yeah, just like that sales clerk in Pretty Woman I too made a HUGE mistake! Plot Twist: I am the Good Looking Not Quite the Silver Fox Richard Gere of this story. =) ----So let's break down Paso & The Ava Hotel---- For my wife's Birthday Weekend, we made reservations at... The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. Mind you, we left mid-day from our home and by the time we arrived to Paso and pulled into the Hotel parking lot, it was already dark, but right away I could tell that the Hotel my wife booked us was Top Notch. First Impression: Sheesh, my wife sure knows how to spoil herself for HER Birthday weekend. Haha. Once parked, I had my wife and 3 girls head into the lobby out of the cold while I lugged what felt like 12 suitcases... We were only there for three nights; do you really need a suit case just for your change of shoes?? Gotta love Girls... Plot twist: The suitcase with the extra shoes.... WAS MINE!!!!!! Jk, maybe, not really, I'll never tell... =) Upon checking in, I immediately noticed how Great the staff was; Kind, Welcoming and from the looks of the place, even at night, I just knew we were going to enjoy our weekend stay here. ----The Room---- Everything you'd expect, but More! We had 2 comfy Queens, a large screen TV, a mini fridge, a clean bathroom and a Great standalone shower! Being that this hotel is Brand New, everything was clean and felt nearly unused which really made for an enjoyable stay. The next morning, my wife's actual Birthday, we got dressed, headed downstairs and celebrated with a Birthday Mimosa from their Lobby Bar. It was the perfect start to our day and to my wife's Special Day From there we headed out to explore Downtown Paso Robles which BTW, The Ava Hotel is what I would call the start of the Downtown area so it's literally the PERFECT place to stay if you, yourself come to Paso Robles one day. And to those still with us, Remember earlier when I said I made a "Big Mistake. Big. Huge!" By simply thinking that Paso Robles was some Podunk, no-nothin town that wasn't worth exiting the freeway for?? Well, I'll be the 1st to admit. I was wrong!!! Paso is one of my new favorite Central Coast towns that I can't wait to come back to. The fun little shops, the great eateries, Wine, more Wine, Did I mention there's Wine? Yeah, loads and loads of world-renowned wineries specializing in French Reds, but they've got whites too so don't stress. Not a wine person? More of a beer drinker? Paso's Got You!! Come check out Firestone Walker Brewing Co., home of the "805" beer; the regions Phone Area Code. Yeah, drink local baby!! So after enjoying breakfast at the Cowgirl Cafe (Epic Review coming soon), we went to the downtown park at let our kids play with the locals. We then hit several of the eclectic shops, including a local bookstore where my wife was like a kid in a candy store and The Spice of Life Tea Shop which I fell in love with (reviews of everywhere we went NEXT, so stay tuned) and finally made our way back to The Ava to take a break and rest our pups (our feet). Upon walking back to The Ava Hotel, I couldn't help but be in Awe of this well manicured, architecturally forward, beautifully designed building. To be honest, It looks and it feels more like a Resort and I felt so spoiled to be apart of its beginning days and I'm proud to give it the 5 stars it deserves. So... What have we learned?? Step 1: Book a room at the Ava Hotel. Step 2: Put your wife's name on the luggage tag of your suitcase for the extra shoes you really brought. Step 3: Bring one empty suitcase for all the Romantasy books your wife's gonna buy at Spare Time Books! To Paso.... To The Ava Hotel... I can't wait to come back!

The vision behind this place is truly inspiring and heartwarming. Built from the ground up around sustainability, human energy, and the balance between light and dark: allegretto, as a name, captures it perfectly. There are structures and masterpieces from six continents woven throughout the grounds, and as you walk through, you feel transported: one moment you're in Europe, the next in India, the next rooted right here in the American West. Astrology, art, intention, and the practice of living in the present moment are threaded through every corner. The wine selection has something for every palate. The tasting room mostly outdoors and so relaxing + beautiful, and the club membership is def worth it! What truly sold me were my wine tour hosts, Rosemary and Ryan. From the moment I walked in, they were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about this place. The spa was great too! Jackie and Denise were warm and I got an amazing facial. Started the morning with yoga in the chapel, which was serene and restorative in the best possible way. The restaurant, Cello, is also excellent. Renee and Devyn were kind & welcoming. Lisa and Ava at the front desk were gracious and warm every time I crossed their path. Also found the most thoughtful, reasonably priced gifts for my family at the wine tasting room: a rare bonus. Heard they're building a second pool that will include both a family pool and an adults-only pool too. A few small notes I'm sharing in the spirit of the brand itself: not as complaints, but as easy wins for mgmt. For a resort so deeply rooted in sustainability, plastic cups at the water stations felt out of place. Switching to paper would be a simple change with a meaningful impact. Similarly, the mats in the chapel were the Amazon brand, which didn't feel aligned with the intentionality of everything else here. And one logistical thing worth noting: a portion of the grounds was blocked off for a wedding the morning after I checked in (pic included) Had planned to wander early and would have really appreciated a heads up at booking so I could plan accordingly. None of this changes my overall experience or my enthusiasm for this place. Allegretto is one of those rare destinations that if the above aligns with what you enjoy, you will be transported. Highest possible recommendation.

As a hotel, it's massive, with huge grounds, all spa services, wine tasting, sitting rooms, courtyard with fire pits, pool etc. And it is immaculately clean throughout. And every staff person we encountered was professional, friendly and competent. Our room was very cozy, with king size bed, comfortable appointments, and nice bathroom with huge shower. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we are in Paso Robles.

Our deepest apologies to Lisa and Rob that this review is so overdue…read more I found Kindred Oak Farm by perusing the internet, it looked absolutely stunning. I called to make a reservation and spoke to the owner, Lisa. She was so warm, accommodating, and helpful-when I hung up the phone, I said I could be friends with that gal. When my husband and I arrived we were greeted by the friendliest, most beautiful, Great Pyranese brother and sister duo, Auggie & Gigi. Then, we met Lisa. She was so welcoming to us and so beautiful inside and out. She explained everything to us, showed us our spectacular room, Adelaide, that was full of upscale amenities. The entire room and bath area was amazing. The grand fireplace, the bathtub for two, the linens on the bed, the fabulous bottle of wine-I could go on. Even the coffee was from a local, organic coffee maker. Now let's get to the three-course breakfast we were served everyday of our four-day stay. We felt like we were at a three-star Michelin restaurant that included incredible homemade juices by Lisa. Each course was so presented so elegantly, but also in an atmosphere that made you feel right at home. Of course we went wine tasting. Lisa and Rob (Lisa's husband and co-owner) recommended wonderful wineries that we went to, and we were very pleased. Everywhere we went I had to tell them where we were staying and how beautiful and relaxing the B&B was. Back on our first morning there, Rob had taken us for a tour of the farm where we saw the game room, wedding area, the vineyard, and my favorite-the beautiful highlander cattle. Such an experience-no wonder Lisa and Rob are so happy there. Also, an honorable mention goes out to Little Girl, their precious kitty. We will definitely be back and have told all of our friends about this heaven on earth B&B. Thank you, Lisa and Rob, for making my birthday a wonderful memory!

We stayed in the Oak Room which was very clean, well maintained, and so cozy. The views are incomparable. PS - the rooms do not have TV. Which was fine for us. There is a shared living room with a large TV and different options for music, for those that need it. The breakfast was amazing! Big compliments to the chef. Highlight of our experience. We enjoyed exploring the grounds. All the animals are very gentle. Wanted to see the cows, but couldn't find them. Detracting half a star to the overall review for: confusion on check-in & overnight dog barking. Upon arrival, We walked in with another couple, and there wasn't anyone to greet us for about 5 to 10 minutes. The other couple texted, called without connection. There were no instructions on checking in either. So we were just confused together for a while until our host appeared. In addition, a dog was barking intermittently the whole night, for both nights that we stayed. So that detracted a little but overall a good experience and would recommend.

I especially want to recognize the young woman working the Starbucks/food service counter in the lobby during our visit. She was the only employee handling the entire operation and somehow still managed to provide friendly, professional, 5-star service while nonstop guests continued ordering food and drinks for hours. She never stopped hustling and kept everything moving with a great attitude. Honestly, the fact that one person was left to run the entire cafe by herself feels like a management staffing issue, not an employee issue. Management should make sure the cafe is properly staffed, and if someone calls in sick or doesn't show up, leadership should step in to help rather than leaving one employee to carry the entire workload alone. That said, our cafe experience remained positive largely because of her work ethic and professionalism. She deserves recognition for holding it all together and taking care of guests under what looked like a very stressful situation. I only wish I had gotten her name.

It was extremely loud every time someone would get off the elevator. Our room was also on the back of the building by the highway and the road got pretty loud. Luckily I had my sound machine which helped a little but it was still pretty loud. The room itself was clean but they only gave 3 towels for a room with 2 beds. I feel like 4 should be the minimum. The beds were also so hard and the pillows were not good. We did not sleep well. They have a nice big open lobby and a bistro that we didn't go to. They have water in the lobby but it tasted weird. Parking is confusing because the front desk never asked if I had a car. She gave me a parking pass in the stack of check in stuff but I didn't notice it. The next morning I got a notice on my windshield that I didn't check in my car. When I went to talk to her about it she said she would take care of it. I still don't understand if parking is free, or not. I saw QR codes outside on signs to pay for parking.
