No genuine response, just a regurgitation of my comments with feigned empathy. Choice Hotels needs to fine-tune the AI-bot they use to communication. Now, I keep receiving emails from Choice Hotels. Apparently, the review & AI-engagement triggered a Subscribe email. Avoid this hotel & brand. It's almost insididious with stalking. Mixed bag, so I'll try to be specific with my review: Beautiful, new property that was recommended by the owner of Central Coast Trailrides, so I booked one night online (via website). I arrived around 1 pm and a room was available on the floor of my choice. Some foreshadowing here... front desk clerk recommended 3rd floor 'because it's quieter'. Lots of parking available in well lit & clean lot that surrounds hotel. Check-in was a cinch & apparently, it was TALL DAY!! Swoon! As a tall person, I approved! Very nice interior design & on-trend for the new class of mid-range hotels. Open restaurant / bar that leads outdoors to fire pits and pool. I went upstairs - 2 large elevators, but stopped at the restroom first. It was super clean, but the paper towel dispenser needed a little coaxing. No air dryers, so I was disappointed that the paper towels were so difficult to remove. Sink, soap, towels are all automated. Hallways were very clean & my room looked fresh and new. Bathroom lighting is subpar for anyone with low vision -- lighting is behind mirror. Yes, there's a lighted, hand-held mirror on a stand; but it's tough to use with poor vision & one hand is required to hold it at eye level. Unless, it's a child's mirror that's supposed to be used at counter level? Shower was great with extra tall spigot that offers waterfall-ish flow. High quality toiletries were available in the shower - shampoo, conditioner, & body wash. LOTS OF TOWELS!! Metal drain rattles alot - this is part of the foreshadowing. It randomly makes noise when dry & not in use. Only teeny tiny trashcans, so limit your waste & recycling. Blow dryer is good size for all hair thicknesses, BUT the only outlet is located behind the giant mirror & hard to access. I just set up in the alcove outside the bathroom & next to the giant (almost) full-length mirror). Comfy bed that is well-used on the left side. No problem since I sleep in the middle. Lotsa pillows! Little sofa by the floor to ceiling window & many different curtains available for light filtering or blackout. Mini freezer - weird, really should be a mini fridge. No microwave to thaw my frozen milk or leftovers. Mini Nespresso machine with tasty coffee - artificial creamers provided which I why I tried to use real milk. Lots of storage available in room. TV with different channels & options. Room lighting is a bit weird & hard to find the off-on switches. Another issue for low vision people, like me. Because flooring is wood-ish, it's hella noisy in the middle of the night. Lots scraping and banging sounds from the neighbors as they arrived late. This is also part of the foreshadowing... must be a b*^ch to be on the 1st or 2nd floors. Better insulation between the walls & floors would've bumped this review to a 4. Restaurant -- pricey, but steak was good. Server was a sweetie. Too many frites! They're not necessary since the steak was perfect, but a little veg would've been nice. Based on the noise level in the rooms at night, I would NOT book this hotel again.

Their status as an NPO and commitment to enriching the lives of others deeply resonates for me, and I encourage you to learn more about their programs when you meet with Maria. Selfless dedication to others is a rare gift and must always be treasured. They have lodging for up to 50 people in two homes. This is an important feature in our perfect venue as we are trying to achieve a more relaxed, "family reunion" type atmosphere at our nuptials. The homes are modestly appointed, but spacious and clean. The main home has a massive kitchen, large deck, and pool area with plenty of space to hang out and enjoy their property. Finally, let's talk about the actual "wedding" facilities and price! They have a sprawling private estate with tons of potential for the creative and adventurous bride, but they have an established ceremony area under a massive oak serving as an altar with a terraced seating area for guests. It offers a few different processional/entrance choices and is right next to the barn area for the reception. The barn has plumbed bathrooms, but with a high guest count, some rentals would be appropriate. There is also parking nearby. Having all the spaces to be used in one close area is nice for guest comfort so people aren't hiking all around just to get from ceremony to cocktails to dinner (especially the older folks). At Dancing Deer- YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR WEDDING! (within reason). You get to pick all your preferred vendors for everything!! Food, drink, booze of your choosing, rentals, decor, activities-EVERYTHING! This is important to the budget conscious and picky bride alike!! And while we're on the topic, Dancing Deer is able to offer remarkably competitive prices for their whole weekend rental- less than many "one day" venues (usually a 5-8 hour facilities rental). This location, however, is a notch or two above the typical SpringHill Suites. The property is beautifully decorated with a wine country theme that fits the region perfectly. It features a very nice on-site restaurant, a cozy and charming winery-inspired patio, a pool, and conference facilities. The guest rooms also have one of the most unique layouts I've seen, with the toilet and shower in separate rooms, making it much more convenient for families getting ready at the same time. The overall atmosphere is warm and inviting, capturing the feel of California wine country without being overly lavish or expensive. I'd happily return for a staycation. Within about a 30-minute drive, you'll find plenty to do, including nearby beaches, downtown Atascadero with its beautifully restored City Hall and local restaurants, zip-lining adventures, and the stunning light displays at Sensorio in Paso Robles. It's a great home base for exploring the Central Coast with the family. While everything is clean and well maintained, there are a few minor signs of wear here and there.
