What an amazing little place!!!! Loved it & will definitely be coming back. Make sure to bring some snacks like a cheese platter & some wine. Loved their Cabernet Sauvignon. The suite was perfect, quiet, relaxing w/ some amazing views. Restaurants where about 15 min away, although the road was a bit winding.

    Suite 2 living room

I would give Dunnning Ranch Suites a 4.75 if it was an option... I hate to give this place a great review because it will only make it harder for me to book in the future. We reserved suite 1 for our anniversary weekend and were fortunate enough to be able to move downstairs when the guests who booked Suite 2 canceled at the last minute. Suite number 1 is an upstairs loft-style 1-bedroom apartment. It is very comfortably furnished, with a studio apartment-style kitchenette, a comfortable porch and Spa tub. The only downfall to this Suite is that it was likely an attic at one point in time and has exceptionally low ceilings throughout. The highest point in the suite is approximately 7 ft and I am over 6 feet tall. It was not possible for me to stand upright anywhere other than the middle of the suite. Aside from that, we had no complaints about Suite 1. Suite 2 is essentially a 2 bedroom farmhouse with a full kitchen, living room and dining room. The bathroom has a wonderful claw-foot soaking tub and there's a nice covered porch with comfy lounging chairs. The only downfall I can think of for Suite 2 is that the floors are uneven. Those of us who may indulge in an extra glass of wine will find ourselves questioning our sobriety even more while stumbling on a slightly sloped floor. However, this just adds to the fun Farmhouse charm. It is also easy to hear everything going on upstairs in suite 1. (I could hear my husband sneeze while we were on different floors.) The staff are exceptionally friendly and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Both Suites are appointed with various fruits, cheeses, Munchies, juices, water and other goodies to make your stay comfortable. The view all around the property is gorgeous! We enjoyed watching the deer graze in the morning and evening. Turkey Tom ran from the tractor, and flirted with the hens in the oak trees while woodpeckers laughed at him in delight. There is also a fantastic fire pit area, and Dunning vineyard's wines are fantastic! I look forward to our next visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone, unless you are reserving it on a weekend I want to go.

    Plum tree

Had a really lovely stay in suite 1 (upstairs). I went with two friends, and two of us shared the main bed (very comfy!) and one slept on the pull-out couch, which was less comfy but workable for a few nights. The site is gorgeous - totally entrenched in nature. So many cute deer gathered around the plum tree by our stairs to eat the fallen fruit! A few minor things that weren't ideal: the "complimentary breakfast" is just some cheese sticks and microwave oatmeal in the fridge... we felt a bit misled. The location is down a windy, narrow road that was a bit tricky to navigate in the dark at night; it's about 10 minutes off the main road. Aside from that, all the amenities were gorgeous - stocked bathroom, as many kitchen supplies as makes sense for a kitchenette; we ended up making a dinner of salad + grilling flatbreads and fruit + cheese and bread that was perfect! There's a cute DVD and game selection. We didn't get a chance to tour the vineyard or do a tasting but I'm sure that would have been lovely. I'll definitely stay here again on future trips to the area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Carriage House - everything that we could possibly need was provided - your usual careful attention to have everything there, including decaf coffee and sweetener, as well as the very welcome cake, the vases of flowers and other details were much appreciated, and the bottle of wine was really excellent.  And everything everywhere was notably clean - kudos to the cleaning crew!

Although we did not go to any of the wineries in the the area we were in the midst of scenic picturesque views in Paso Robles and its surrounding areas. We appreciated the welcoming hospitality of Amy and Tom for making us feel comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. From the creative and accommodating breakfasts (we're Vegans) to the comfortable bed we enjoyed while we were there. Amy made us some delicious Vegan chilaquiles for our first morning and Avocado toast on our second. Both breakfasts are making me hungry as I write this. I've never experienced a Bed and Breakfast but they really set the bar high for my personal expectations going forward. We were able to relax and watch the wild turkeys when we awoke to plan our days there. Thanks for providing the recommendations and giving us an insider perspective of what makes this area special. We look forward to sharing our experiences with our family and friends and will refer them to Creekside if they ever make the trip this way. Amy and Tom were very helpful and knowledgeable when making suggestions of places to visit to and the history of the area. We were sent out with maps and coupons for reduced-cost tasting. I love the grounds and character of this property and we enjoyed the charm of the Barrel Room. How suite it was! We definitely need to return just to finish visiting all of the places that were recommended to us! P.S If you enjoy clear skies for star gazing and seeing some cool animals doing animal things (they have 2 dogs and 2 cats) you'll enjoy the charm of this place as much as we did. Where else can you sleep in a comfortable bed, see wild turkeys and have a view of horses all in in the same space? Unless you are a farmer I doubt that you can answer that question because you haven't been here yet.

She immediately made us feel at home with her gentle spirit and genuine hospitality. We later met Rob, Lisa's husband, who was just as kind and welcoming. It meant so much to us to see that connection. The entire property is peaceful and stunning, with gentle rolling hills, goats, chickens, and cows (though we didn't spot the cows this time!). We also had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast most days with their wonderful chef, Dominique, who made such delicious food--everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. It was the perfect way to start each day. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations--from the thoughtful details throughout the property, to the calm, rejuvenating atmosphere. Kindred Oak Farm is a hidden gem that we will always hold close to our hearts. Thank you, Lisa and Rob, for a stay filled with kindness, connection, and unforgettable memories.

Maria is wonderful to work with; prompt and complete communication about their services and what makes Dancing Deer special. This property offers a Friday-Sunday rental for weddings, events, retreats, and more! When we were touring, Maria shared a disaster emergency group would be staying there shortly to simulate rescue operations during a hurricane! Their status as an NPO and commitment to enriching the lives of others deeply resonates for me, and I encourage you to learn more about their programs when you meet with Maria. Selfless dedication to others is a rare gift and must always be treasured. They have lodging for up to 50 people in two homes. This is an important feature in our perfect venue as we are trying to achieve a more relaxed, "family reunion" type atmosphere at our nuptials. The homes are modestly appointed, but spacious and clean. The main home has a massive kitchen, large deck, and pool area with plenty of space to hang out and enjoy their property. Finally, let's talk about the actual "wedding" facilities and price! They have a sprawling private estate with tons of potential for the creative and adventurous bride, but they have an established ceremony area under a massive oak serving as an altar with a terraced seating area for guests. It offers a few different processional/entrance choices and is right next to the barn area for the reception. The barn has plumbed bathrooms, but with a high guest count, some rentals would be appropriate. There is also parking nearby. Having all the spaces to be used in one close area is nice for guest comfort so people aren't hiking all around just to get from ceremony to cocktails to dinner (especially the older folks). At Dancing Deer- YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR WEDDING! (within reason). You get to pick all your preferred vendors for everything!! Food, drink, booze of your choosing, rentals, decor, activities-EVERYTHING! This is important to the budget conscious and picky bride alike!! And while we're on the topic, Dancing Deer is able to offer remarkably competitive prices for their whole weekend rental- less than many "one day" venues (usually a 5-8 hour facilities rental). I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're wanting a true getaway feel with plenty of time to relax and enjoy your family and friends beyond the wedding event!
