From the easy self check-in, to the late afternoon lounge and tea/treats, to the DELICIOUS breakfasts, to the comfort and beauty of our room -- everything was PERFECTION. The location is ideal (walkable to everything!), the grounds and gardens were intoxicating, and the Amish furniture store next door was incredible! We did NOT want to leave! We adored our private balcony off our room and every accommodation had been thought of. The only thing I'd advise is a microwave for guests in the Black Barn lounge room so we had the ability to reheat food. Perhaps there is already one in the kitchen area, but we didn't want to be rude and enter the closed door as it may have been just for staff. Oh! And the staff? INCREDIBLE!!!! Bruce and his team were inviting, helpful, and we felt as if we'd known them all for eons! We will be returning this winter to enjoy not only the main lounge fireplace but the room fireplace! Thank you to Bruce and his team! STELLAR performance!

A historic and cozy escape in charming Cambria…read more Nestled in the heart of Cambria, this bed & breakfast offers a boutique experience steeped in history and charm. The property features three distinct buildings: The Squibb House - a beautifully preserved historic inn. The Black Barn - also an inn, and a recreated version of the original barn that stood here in the late 1800s. The Shop - a treasure trove of custom, American-made furnishings crafted by Amish artisans. We've stayed in the Black Barn on three separate occasions and I've completely fallen for the Oak Room. Located on the second floor, it's spacious and serene. Features a large walk-in shower, handmade furniture, a cozy fireplace, private balcony, window seat perfect for afternoon naps or reading, and writing desk. Mornings begin with a delicious breakfast buffet, and guests have 24/7 access to a common area stocked with treats and beverages. Free WiFi and parking are included. With only ten rooms between the two buildings it's an intimate stay. Plus, it's just a three minute drive to Moonstone Beach. I'm in my 40s but spiritually about 60, ready to retire, move into a 55+ community, and spend my days exploring bed & breakfasts, lighthouses, beaches, and forests. We're always the youngest at the breakfast table and I love it. If you're drawn to slow mornings, peaceful surroundings, and old-world charm, this is it. Thank you for having us and we always look forward to coming back.

The place changed ownership a few years ago and the new owner is great -- very responsive to text messages and made sure we were taken care of. Rooms are large, clean, and safe. It was a great place to stay with my wife and our dog. There's even a dog towel to wipe sandy paws which Baxter appreciated. Boardwalk access is directly across the street. There are only four rooms and the place is at the north end of Windrush Beach so it's quiet but not isolated. There are not a lot of amenities along the beach, so you definitely need a car to get around. We hope to stay here again when we need pet friendly accommodations.

While Orchard Hill no longer serves breakfast, we were lucky enough that MaryAnn, who is a retired chef, would be our hostess during our time here. The Garden View room is spacious and cozy all at once. The private balcony looking over the property is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee, or evening wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Carriage House - everything that we could possibly need was provided - your usual careful attention to have everything there, including decaf coffee and sweetener, as well as the very welcome cake, the vases of flowers and other details were much appreciated, and the bottle of wine was really excellent.  And everything everywhere was notably clean - kudos to the cleaning crew!

The grounds are beautiful and unique, featuring a lovely garden, expansive lawn and carefully curated outdoor patios overlooking valley views. Owners Neil and Gaye are not only hospitable, but excellent party planners and undercover gourmands. We were greeted us with sparkling ruby pomegranate mimosas, created as a signature drink for my party, and enjoyed a full bar, along with beautifully curated charcuterie board and hors d' oeuvres DJ Mackenzie kept the vibe perfect with her keen ability to dial into the crowd and give them exactly what they're looking for- during cocktail hour, dinner and especially with dancing. Just let her design the soundtrack to your party.... The fanfare ground to a halt as Gaye surprised me with a delicately flavored almond lemon cake topped with pistachio rose petal fondant icing. Having my birthday at this magical place was one my friends and I will never forget... If you're looking for a venue that stands out from the usual options and offers a refined yet welcoming atmosphere, I can't recommend Lilac Farm enough. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Talking, music, steps, tv. We could hear everything. The front desk agent very kindly moved us to a room on the top floor before he left for the night. It was a LOT better to not have noise from above, but we could still hear everything in the room next to us. It's centrally located, which is nice. Staff was accommodating. The lobby and exterior of the buildings are so cute. But for $200/night, which is what I paid for a weekend, I'd probably opt to stay somewhere with thicker walls.

Maria is wonderful to work with; prompt and complete communication about their services and what makes Dancing Deer special. This property offers a Friday-Sunday rental for weddings, events, retreats, and more! When we were touring, Maria shared a disaster emergency group would be staying there shortly to simulate rescue operations during a hurricane! Their status as an NPO and commitment to enriching the lives of others deeply resonates for me, and I encourage you to learn more about their programs when you meet with Maria. Selfless dedication to others is a rare gift and must always be treasured. They have lodging for up to 50 people in two homes. This is an important feature in our perfect venue as we are trying to achieve a more relaxed, "family reunion" type atmosphere at our nuptials. The homes are modestly appointed, but spacious and clean. The main home has a massive kitchen, large deck, and pool area with plenty of space to hang out and enjoy their property. Finally, let's talk about the actual "wedding" facilities and price! They have a sprawling private estate with tons of potential for the creative and adventurous bride, but they have an established ceremony area under a massive oak serving as an altar with a terraced seating area for guests. It offers a few different processional/entrance choices and is right next to the barn area for the reception. The barn has plumbed bathrooms, but with a high guest count, some rentals would be appropriate. There is also parking nearby. Having all the spaces to be used in one close area is nice for guest comfort so people aren't hiking all around just to get from ceremony to cocktails to dinner (especially the older folks). At Dancing Deer- YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR WEDDING! (within reason). You get to pick all your preferred vendors for everything!! Food, drink, booze of your choosing, rentals, decor, activities-EVERYTHING! This is important to the budget conscious and picky bride alike!! And while we're on the topic, Dancing Deer is able to offer remarkably competitive prices for their whole weekend rental- less than many "one day" venues (usually a 5-8 hour facilities rental). I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're wanting a true getaway feel with plenty of time to relax and enjoy your family and friends beyond the wedding event!
