Decided to try this out with my girl last night since it was so cheap. I honestly wouldn't come here again. All the food was cold/slightly warm & it was an evening on Friday so I assumed more effort would be put in but that was not the case. The 'orange fanta' tasted like seltzer water & the 'fruit punch' was koolaid. Most of the food was VERY bland, lacking the basic salt & pepper. My girl was cracking open the seafood & there was no meat in it. It's not worth it. Just save your money. If you do want Chinese I would recommend take out because these buffets near the Hartford area are not cutting it.. read more

I was very sceptical about eating here and tried to talk the BF out of it (location and previous reviews). However we ate here and sure enough the food was terrible, it was cold and greasy and just terrible. Nothing positive to say except i only wasted $16 and some change however I would have been happier with double cheese burgers from Mcdonalds dollar menu. So here i am an hour or so later and dinner is no longer sitting in my stomach (got sick) and I feel miserable. Avoid this place at all cost. It is true you get what you pay for. Small, quiet, clean, but terrible food oh and to top it off the waitress came to the table once so while eating terrible food (we should have walked out) we had nothing to "wash it down with". I think anybody knows going in that you do not choose Far East Buffet for high quality Chinese fare. You choose it for price and for quantity. Indeed, the prices here are low, and the food amounts are theoretically unlimited. My total came to $6.91, and that included a soda and a $0.25 credit card usage fee. Under $7 for a Chinese buffet lunch alone earns four stars. The food is fine, and it won't make you sick. I'd call that a rave review for the type of restaurant that tends to breed foodborne illness. My personal favorites include the pork fried rice, the boneless spare ribs, and the sesame chicken... pretty standard stuff, I suppose. One weakness though: they have no seafood whatsoever for lunch, whereas many places will offer a few dishes at lunchtime, if only as a penance. Still, lunch for $5.25, dinner $7.50? Currently heaving right now, didn't eat much maybe 2 plates and for a big mechanic that's nothing. The food tasted slightly ok if that's even a thing. I haven't felt this ill since discovering my parents vodka in junior high. Would rather eat vegetables and a pile of dog droppings, at least I know what I was eating. read more

Very limited selection of different dishes, most of the items I tried were not good and I'm not that picky. It's an old rundown location that isn't kept up well in a strip mall. The only positive about this place to me was the price, it's very cheap. It'll fill you up, but you may wonder why you ate there after your done, I did. Not recommended. read more

I know, I know, what did I expect for $6.99??? I honestly didn't expect much, but I did expect the food to be warm if not hot and I expected the chicken and broccoli to actually have chicken in it, not just broccoli. The coconut shrimp was ALL batter and sauce, I think I found a baby shrimp somewhere in the scoopful I took, but I can't be positive. I will say the baked crab casserole was delicious and hot since I got some right asa she put out a fresh batch, so I guess there is potential for their food if I were to be there when it first comes out. I took some pictures because I do not think it is listed yet. This is near the Department of Motor Vehicles. It is known to be inexpensive and mediocre. Today for example, I walked in, went right to the buffet, grabbed a plate, dished out a various entrees (General Tso being one) and was seated in under 5 minutes. I looked around and noticed that it seems that this is the place for people in a rush. I noticed an EMT come in, ambulance running outside. Load up his plate wolf it down, pay and leave in 12 minutes... Wow! If that is not fast food - what is? Also - the noon time meal is $4.99. I am not surprised it was packed. I probably will not be back, but I wanted to see what it was all about. Food - just ok. Place - Clean enough. Service - Pretty good for a buffet. Clientele - Varied. I observed a table of Medical staff, some trades people and DMV employees there at lunch. They all seemed content. read more

The food was really cold some was fresh some was not. The soda don't get me started very watered down almost flat. The oysters which my husband set his heart out for were cold made his stomach feel weird after complaining twice about the cold food. They finally changed almost all the dishes to fresh food. read more

My clients, staff and myself went to far east buffet and Wethersfield Connecticut. We were sitting down eating and we saw a big adults pregnant cock a roach or the wall above the table. Just behind where staff was sitting at. We call for one of the workers but the other worker we showed her and took a napkin and squashed it on the wall. This Was very disgusting. They took two dollars off our bill. Then the lady that was in charge said she called the company every month. If you can see a roach crawling on the Wall during the day imagine what the kitchen must look like. They don't have to never worry about my friends family coworkers and three of the company agencies that I work for to go and eat there. Far East Buffet all the way .As a local resident in this town I can tell you this place went from Zero to HERO!!!. This place is awesome. The crew is so polite and nice the service is excellent the food is always fresh and cooked properly and let's not leave out the next best thing the price you can't beat . The amount of seafood you can choose from shrimp ,shrimp scampi ,fried shrimp ,mussels ,catfish excetera salad bars the Chinese buffet and some American food and the dessert Buffet you're not going to find a better place and this is coming from someone that is only trusted one buffet all my life and that was Buffet 2000 in Queen Street Southington this is the next best . Wasn't impressed. No option for sushi. Very limited ice cream selection (mint & strawberry). Food was average and there were no labels.

The value and quality of the food is excellent. The options may not be as vast as say, a larger Buffett. However you cannot best the price for the tasty dishes. I went on 12/07/2015 with my coworkers and found a hair inside the rice I told the lady who brings out the food from the kitchen and she took my plate. As I stand there I see she did not remove the entire thing of rice from the buffet, what she does is mixes it and that infuriated me it is disgusting. You cannot beat the price at this buffet. They have very minimal American choices, however their Chinese food choices are very very good. Very good quality Chinese food here. So today ma family decided to take us here for the first time. well in other words im a guest ... we were a big family.. so we go there we sit and eat we try to be as clean as possible but with a 2 year old child and plenty of other kids its impossible... so we are done and a waiter approaches the table and mind you the kids and ma family was walking away im behind im trying to grab my baby 2 y/o and the waiter tells me are you leaving a tip or you clean .. i said i didn't pay im a guest and on top we just paid about $200 on front ... i felt so disrespected and embarrassed like omgeee said i wont go back there ever again... bad review o another thing most of the food was cold and tasted nasty... need friendly waiters and better cooks,,,... the young girls are OK very nice .. but the older Chinese lady was very rude and disrespectful... 5/1/16.... read more
