I absolutely love Brazil Grill. Every time I am in Connecticut I make a stop and it never disappoints. Buffet style. Fill your plate. Stop at the grill to get your protein. Weigh your plate. Grab a drink from the cashier Find a seat. I ordered rice and beans, thinly sliced collard greens and chicken wings. So much flavor. Passion Mousse for dessert. Delicious. Every time it is the exact same as the last visit. They are big on Soccer (futebol) that is normally on the television Large enough for big parties; yet cozy enough for 1. Very clean bathroom. read more

This is a shop front space that's accessible right from Park Street. It always looks dark in there so I assumed it wasn't open, one day I decided to venture in. Everything was great, it's not an enormous place and there is a limited selection of side dishes. But the sides were great. The Brazilian style meat was wonderful and I did like the desserts. The folks they were really nice. read more

Personally I'm not big on eating meat, but if you are, Brazil Grill might be the place for you. They have everything, from pork, to beef, stake, lamb, sausages to chicken. Brazil Grill is located on Park Street in Hartford. They have a very small parking for around five cars in front of the restaurant. When you walk inside, this where one of the friendly servers will greet you and ask is this your first time in their establishment. This is where you can make a request for the type of meat you would like. They are going to take it off the grill on skewers and cut as much for you as you would like. To the left you will find a very small buffet of some salads and sides. I got the Yuca soup. I don't think I've had this before. This soup is yellow like the cheddar and broccoli soup. Except it might be healthier, it isn't heavy or particularly salty, I could taste the ginger and there was shrimp in it. It is pretty hearty for a cold day. I wasn't really interested in anything else at Brazil Grill. They had some really delicious looking desserts right across from where I was sitting. I got the flan. This was incredible! It was sweet, syrupy, soft and springy! I very rarely have flan, this might be the reason I'd come back to Brazil Grill. They charge everything by weight. The total bill for my self and two others, who ate a lot of meat was $25. This is a great value. I just wish their buffet was a bit bigger with more variety. read more

Great food, but ridiculous prices. I got some chicken wings, a couple pieces of lamb and some rice - $60.

totally empty at prime dinner time and that should have kept us away but we went. most of the meats we wanted were not available. settled for the salty overcooked stuff they had. 2 reasonably sized plates of food, mostly veggies and sides and 2 bottles of water cost $80. this is a huge and total rip-off. stupidly brutally expensive and not very good. never again. read more

First time. Food is a buffet help yourself. You are charged by the weight of your plate. My coworkers said they are going so I said why not. I got oxtails that were huge, buffalo wings were seasoned and flavorful, fried fish big piece, and steak you can tell them how you like it. The meat cutter good customer service. The cashier was friendly. My total was $35 and cashew fruit drink (I thought cashew was a nut) made my total $40. Cuz I got what I wanted myself haha. I was warned about price buttt I'm satisfied will go again and tell other. Everything was busssdown. Ambiance dope vibe. Happy customer read more

Good price, nice food. Travel here during a rainy Independence Day. So satisfied about the food! Basically you choose meat and side dishes, and they charge via total food weight. We two eat ~55USD. So much meat you can choose! People here are so friendly. The restaurant is clean and easy to find. You can park in front of the building. Since it's in a flood warning day, the manager allowed us to stay at the restaurant until it rained less. I would highly recommend it to my friends. read more

As a first timer to the Brazil Grill, when we walked through the front door, I found things a little confusing, so here's a quick Operators Manual to put you on the path with a flashlight. When you walk in, make a hard left, grab a plate, and head toward buffet station number one and then buffet station number two. Fill your plates with salads, vegetables, rice, pasta, plantains, beans, and all sorts of potato and corn dishes, even salmon. But save a lot of room on your plate, because the best is yet to come when you enter the Meat Zone. You'll see a hand written sign with the grilled meats of the day- Pork, Beef, Lamb, sausage, chicken, and chicken hearts. You go to the ordering counter, let the guy know what you want, and he takes out a huge skewer of meat from the grill and slices off whatever you want. It's quite a show ! Brazil Grill charges you buy the pound, so you place your plate on a scale and are given a card with a number. If you want to go up for seconds, go right ahead but bring your numbered card so the cashier can add plate #1 to plate #2 on your bill. They also have beer and a lot of desserts so you can make your meal a real feast. I went for the pork sausage and "beef rib" (which was really sliced Prime Rib). The quality of both cuts of meat were very good. Both were served hot and were fresh and juicy. I saw that some reviewers encountered dried out or cold meats, but that wasn't the case with what I had. We interacted with two employees- the guy who carved up the meats and the young lady at the register, both were warm and friendly. Yes, the neighborhood and parking aren't the best, but we really did have a fun lunch here. My plate and a half plus a Snapple ran about $16. read more

Food is average but good. Price is too high for the food you get, paying per pound sounds more like a way to rip you off than anything else. I have tried it and I can say that once is enough. read more

Ok, this was my first visit to this establishment I found this restaurant on yelp when I search steak places. I'm having a girls get together and it was my turn to select the restaurant. I'm real big on contributing back to my community especially in your current environment, with that being said let get into my review. It was a dine in and take out it a very, very causal place, similar to truck stop with walls. Since this was my first time and I was thinking of bring friends I decide to do a take out container. Each item I select was very, very small portion, I hate wasting food. I got lese than a half of spoon of the yellow rice and white rice. I got some plantains, greens, orka, broccoli and 2 slice of the roast beef. While I was looking at the others dishes a customer start talking too me. He told me the food is good and they even have grill meats up front. He told me to try the potatoes salad, he sure a sister made it, IF YOU GET IT YOU GET IT. I don't eat everyone's potatoes salad so I gt about 3 potatoes literally. The price is base on weight but since I barely had anything I didn't think much of it. This was more about doing a quick taste test. At the register the same customer who suggested the potatoes salad told me I need to try the mango juice, so I also purchase the large mango juice. Take a look at my pictures you can see there barely nothing there and the price was $27.52 . I have purchase food by weight before the cafe at the company I work for is by weight so I know something about weight. I was shock that he even had the audacity to even say that amount. I know my food was no where close to $28.00 and the clientele in that place would not spend $28.00 a person in the plate was a lot fuller. I know he hack up the price because I was not part of his ethnicity community. It was so disappointing to see the stereotype proving true. I will never enter that place again but I will give him free marketing by posting on all my social media platforms this awful experience. The food is bland, the mango drink was warm and the potatoes salad was made by a sister by another mother! The only item that had favor was the plantains. read more

I've never had Brazilian food before, and Brazil grill is a wonderful experience for both first timers and regulars alike. How it works, is that Brazil Grill is a pay-per-pound, buffet-style system. You pick out what you like from a buffet that includes a salad bar, a couple of regular meats, a nice pasta, white and vegetable rice, caramelized plantains, fresh fruit and other items. I like to balance all the great meat that will be coming so I usually get plantains, a little bit of rice and some fresh fruit or greens. Be warned, don't get a case of the hungry eyes and take anything you won't finish, because you'll be paying for it. Next, proceed to the meat carving station, where you can pick what you'd like from a selection of Brazilian BBQ. I tend to go for things I can't get or make at home, so I'm especially partial to the lamb, beef ribs, pork sausage, and chicken hearts (so good! don't knock it till you try it!!) For the faint-hearted (and scared-y cats) they do have chicken wings, chicken sausage, chicken wrapped in bacon, pork loin and top sirloin as well. Although you can order them to your liking, everything is typically cooked well-done. Scoot on over to the last station to pick a wine, beer or other beverage. You won't have to pay until you've finished, because everything you take will be tracked on an assigned number the staff gives you. Enjoy your foods, or return for more of anything you want. And at the end, consider one of the tasty treats in the dessert showcase. Every once and a while, they offer a Groupon, so keep and eye out for that. Although the restaurant can be less than desirable at night, I never have an issue. Parking out front is tight, but there's plenty of street parking available. Open Sunday through Thursday, 11:00am - 9:00pm and Friday through Saturday, 11:00am - 9:30pm. read more

FOOD: this is a build your own plate restaurant, with side dishes and a few main courses pre-made in the steamers (these are all generally quite good), the main course meats off the skewers that are cut to order, and drinks/desserts. I was impressed with the quality of the pre-made food, thought the meat was high-quality and perfectly seasoned, and enjoyed one of the best restaurant flans I've ever had for dessert. SERVICE: is personable and friendly with limited table interaction. The guy at the meat station will make helpful suggestions. Parking is a little tight in their lot at times, but there is the street option or a lot across the way. Credit cards are accepted for purchases over $10. AMBIANCE: is very casual and relaxed. The place is not fancy, but features several flat screen TVs usually running Brazilian programming. There are plenty of tables and it's a good place to take a group. VALUE: is excellent for the variety and quality of food that you get. Even though they charge by the pound, the rate is very reasonable and you can fill up, will drink and dessert for about $15 dollars! read more

Coming from a Brazilian, this place rocks! The food is great, for a quick lunch, or a night out with the family. Authentic Brazilian food at a very low cost compared to what you would normally pay at high end resturants. MEAT MEAT AND MORE MEAT!! If you love MEAT, you gotta check this place out. They have everything from Chicken wraped in bacon dipped in milk, to grilled prime rib, and everything in between. It has a buffet style atmosphere, but with a cozy little resturant feel. If you don't know Portuguese don't worry they speak English too. If your a soccer fan you should check out the large projector screen TV they have playing some of the best local soccer games straight from Brazil. The service is great, they treat you like your family. So just like in any Brazilian family tradition come grab a plate and eat! read more

Delicious meat. Meat was juicy and fresh. Had adequate selection of side dishes, all of which were very tasty. The big turn off it's the price. Unless you separate your meat and have it weighed on its own you will pay the meat price for your plate. Haven't quite figured out the pricing yet, seeing how they never weighed my plate or meat. The wife had one small plate of food, one sausage and a small piece of steak. We also had a small plate with about five cut fruit. Total was over $40. Not sure how the came to that price. The food is definitely tasty. I would just make sure you ask how the pricing works first and separate your meats. But worth the trip. Very clean and have that feeling of food and health safety. Was nice too be able to find in. read more

Yum! I'd been craving Brazilian barbecue for a few months and my companion and I finally got a chance to calm the craving. I'd done a bit of yelp research beforehand and there was another place (Braza) that came up in my search that was all-you-can-eat but didn't have great reviews. This place had great reviews though, so even though it was a per-pound place, we headed here. We grabbed ourselves some plates and started filling them up at the buffet area. There was a shrimp risotto that we both loved because of its flavor and texture. It reminded me of paella a bit. There were a bunch of other dishes too, like tortellini, noodles, rice, vegetables, salad, beans, etc. After that, we went to the meat station. There was a list of what was available and we read through and then started requesting. As we asked for what we wanted, the guy grabbed skewers from the oven, sliced off as much as we asked for, and then put the meat on our plates. We ended up trying the sirloin, beef short ribs, pork sausage, and chicken with bacon. Everything was really delicious. Then we took our plates to the weigh station where they weighed our plates (don't worry, the scale was at a negative weight to zero out the mass of the plate) and paid before we sat down. They have a few beers and wines available as well as juices and sodas. We then sat ourselves in the seating area and enjoyed our food. This place worked out really well because we were full after eating our single plates, and each plate was under $10! What a bargain. We didn't try any of the desserts since we were stuffed, but they had some cakes which looked yummy as well as rice pudding, which looked really good. There were huge flat screens all over the place with telenovelas playing, which was fun to watch. And there was plenty of seating. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend this place. read more

I came here for dinner on a Sunday evening with my family. The parking lot gets full quickly but luckily there is street parking. The "buffet" section is all really good but be careful not to fill up on it too much, you need room for the meat! I loved all the meat options they had on skewers and chose the lamb and beef ribs. They were seasoned perfectly and cooked well without being dry. The plates are weighed by the lb and it ended up being quite reasonable for the whole family. I recommend a visit! read more

I've been coming here for more than 5 years, food is always good but it's always been pricey. Today, I went and they started charging $21/POUND! Which is absolutely insane! I had one spoon of rice, pasta for the side and some steak. THATS ALL! In total my boyfriend and I paid $105 for a meal that should of easily been no more than $40! Also, the tables and chairs had food all over them. read more

This is a great place to stop in for lunch or dinner. You grab a plate and it is self serve. It is authentic Brazilian recipes brought to Hartford. Their meat is churrasco style, meaning it is barbecue/grilled on spinning skewers. They cut the meat right in front of you. They offer chicken wrapped in bacon, chicken wings, steak and sausage to choose from. Every day the self serve food is different, which is a nice change. Some foods that are always offered are: white and yellow rice, beans and salad. On Sundays there is a lot of seafood to choose from. This place also has authentic Brazilian soda and juices as well as fresh flan, and desserts. They also offer candy by the register. I come here quite often and the food is always fresh! read more

Brazil Grill - Fresh oxtail, mashed potatoes, and veggies. - Brazilian Near Me - Hartford, Connecticut

The meats were flavorful. I felt the atmosphere was relaxed not sure about the decor seemed confusing. When you enter you are faced with a register directly in front of you. Slightly to you left is a small carving station and to you direct left is a buffet station. Your meal will include the buffet station so you must start there. You walk in and grab what you wish from the buffet area then you proceed to the carving station and request for whatever meats you wish. Keep in mind that what you grab from the buffet and the meats you choose will all be weighed. Once you grab your meats you will take 2 steps to the register where your plate will be weighed and you purchase your drinks. You then will seat yourself and the staff will bring the drinks to you. As it was my first time it was confusing but somebody noted that this is the procedure when entering this restaurant. The meats all had a glaze or a hint of seasoning that gave it a mild but nice flavor. The shrimp from the buffet was ok. It lacked flavor and the crabcakes were mushy. Not too good but I found other items good. The pernil was good, the salad made with cabbage which I love. The black beans were good. The fruit salad did not look so appealing as some grapes and strawberries should have been thrown out. But the food was very filling. read more

The food was amazing. The art was even more breathtaking. As you go in, at least for dinner, you grab a plate, take whatever food you want. They grill meat right in front of you. I had chicken wrapped in bacon. They weigh your food, you go and eat. They then weigh your dishes, subtract, and you pay. My total came to about $25, which is the best $25 I could spend at that time. I got introduced to this place several years ago by a family member and have loved it since. I would definitely recommend especially if you have not tried Brazilian food before! There was a point in time where I stopped in weekly(sometimes more than once) to get a to-go plate. What i love is that they have a variety of options that are not the same every day. I like that you are able to serve yourself all the veggies and sides so you can customize your portion. I am a fan of the beef rib and pork sausage. The chicken wrapped bacon is pretty good as well. You can ask for well done or a little rare if thats your thing. The inside is always clean with plenty of seating. if you chose to sit down they will bring you your drinks and deserts to the table and you pay after dining. I've learned to be a little careful not to go overboard, they charge by weight, so it can get expensive quickly if you are loading up. I simply love that I have been coming here for years and the quality of the food has not seemed to change one bit. The only negative for me is the parking. Their lot is super tiny and street parking sometimes can be tough. read more

The few times I've been here I've only done takeout. I feel like customers get take out here more than dining in. The place is clean, the employees are friendly. They have different size takeout boxes & they charge by the weight/meat. I would say it's kinda pricey though. I paid $20 for what's in the picture. I'm still trying to figure out if it is worth it. As you can see I filled the bowl up pretty well. I got the veggie rice with beans on top, pasta, sweet plantain, fried tilapia, & two pieces of bacon wrapped chicken at the meat counter. The flavors are very good, I had no problem with the food itself, just the price. I did eat the leftovers for dinner so I was good for the day. I would come here again. read more

Disclaimer: I go to a lot of Churrascarias. Brazil Grill is a good churrascaria. Flavorful meat, small buffet, nice atmosphere. Frankly, I found it average compared to other churrascarias I have been to. Number of meats available for lunch is somewhat limited compared to others. Beef rib was very good. Bacon wrapped chicken was a bit dry and overcooked. Pork linguica was ok but lukewarm, not hot. Ok Brazilian, no wow factor, but not bad. read more

Brazil Grill is one of our favorite hidden gems in Hartford. My partner goes all the time and I go sometimes when we're in town. It's definitely not similar to Fogo de Chao or anything, as you walk in and to the left is the food and to the right is the dining table. They have a bunch of options like fish, tortellini in rose sauce, shrimp risotto (it's rice but that's unimportant), mixed vegetables, fruit, salad, and more. Then after you go around the little part of the restaurant you go to the counter where they have the spits with the meat. They have a somewhat limited selection but it does include various steals and lamb. It's always delicious. Then next to that you go to the register and they open a tab of sorts and weigh your plate. You get drinks there too. It's pretty simple. There is a bunch of smoke from the stove that's cooking the meat near the door so if that bothers you beware and sit on the other end of the dining room. Otherwise, great place! read more

The place is neat and newly renovated. The varieties of meat and the buffet dishes are not what you see at a Brazilian grill in other cities - Boston or RI. But, what we have are good and tasty. You pay by the weight of all that you pick. The flat steak are the most delicious ones, nice and delicious. I also like the chicken wings, they have a great smoked taste to it. My least favorite meat are the bacon wrapped steak and chicken, they are extremely dry. They also have some options of alcoholic beverages and fruit juices. Choices of desserts are also good. To find a parking spot during lunch time one weekday or a weekend sucks. Being the only Brazilian grill in the neighborhood, I am definitely going back. read more

The food is mostly always good, you serve yourself and the food is priced by weight so watch it if you're looking to stick to your budget. You usually don't leave here paying less than $25/$30 a plate and it's very easy to get there. Worth it though, the meat is cooked over flame and is chopped and served by one of the staff for you. Atmosphere is nice and the dessert is weirdly expensive. Idk why I paid $10 for a cake pop without the stick. We paid but I doubt I will be back when I can go almost anywhere in the area for under $40 per person. The side dishes are good but they offer a lot of rice and very few veggies. I arrived at Brazil Grill late on a weekday afternoon to try their buffet. They had a modest selection of sides in the buffet area. Once you're done at the buffet you then proceed to the counter to select your meats. They offer beef, pork and lamb options. I had a little bit of each. The meat was well prepared and tasty. The problem is the buffet itself. My sides were all either lukewarm or cold. This was big turn off. I picked at my food and most of it went uneaten. At the end of my meal , the gentleman at the counter asked enthusiastically "how was it?" Apparently this was a rhetorical question because once I mentioned the problems with the temperature of the food his response was "oh ok," and he handed me my receipt. Awesome. read more

Once in a while, nothing will satisfy, save for gross quantities of meat. In these cases, avoid Braza and visit Brazil Grill. I would take very little from the prepared foods, and very much from the meat skewers. The bonus is that you can get all the meat you want at once. And while it's priced by the pound, you'll pay about 1/3 what you will at Braza...unless you can put away four pounds of meat. The meat is well and simply prepared. Good meat needs but salt. This is good meat. And the guy who runs the place is ultra friendly. Unlike the management of Braza, who seem to have undergone some sort of frontal lobotomy pact. Have a grape soda or have a beer. Calling all meat lovers! I adore this little place tucked away in a small building in Hartford. Easy to miss as the sign that overlooks the road isn't that obvious, and they don't have a sign on the building itself. Simple ambiance - low key, and never too loud. They offer a buffet-style food bar, where you can get rice and beans, etc. They do mix it up on occasion, and the items are good, but I tend to try to limit what I get from there as the meat that comes out of the fire pit is just plain awesome. They offer tons of options of meat - chicken hearts, chicken wrapped in bacon, chicken wings, pork sausage, pork loin, beef ribs, top sirloin, sirloin, and lamb I believe. You can ask for a piece that that suits your needs such as well done with crispy edges to medium rare with a warm pink center. They cater to what you want. One tip: don't leave without a coxhina. It is a scrumptious ball of shredded chicken wrapped in mashed potatoes, coated and then deep fried. Similar to a chicken croquette but much, much better. Lot's of love goes into this one, and you don't know they offer if unless you have an "in"...you have your in now. Don't regret not asking for it. The price is right too. My husband and I will go and eat, without being bashful...lot's of food and drinks and we end up spending $30 between the two of us. Unbelievable how much you get for how much you pay! This place is definitely one of our favorites and I always look forward to our next visit. read more

Making our way around the world of CT, we land in Brazil. A simply decorated place with Brazilian TV blaring in the background this time. A long line of patrons at the cash register salivating over their pile of meat on plates. Backup...first you pick up a plate and carefully pile on one side some feijoada, fried potatoes/fries, assorted salad etc. Then you follow your nose to the open oven with a dozen skewers of assorted churrascaria. OK pile on the other side of the plate: chicken hearts (my fave), bacon wrapped chicken, beef ribs, pork loin, pork sausage, fried chicken wings. (The lamb was overcooked on the outside so I didn't go for it.) The guy at the counter weights your heavy plate. I brace myself for a hefty bill. What do you mean that plate and a cup of passion fruit juice costs only $8.84! If that was a miscalibrated scale, I did not want to tell him. My friends' plates were all between $9-11. We saw the same guy carrying a plate of large fried Brazilian balls to the table next to us. He said they were called "coxinha" (Brazilian chicken croquettes) and ordered some for us. Scrumpcious balls! You can find the recipe here: http://southamericanfood.about.com/od/snacksstreetfood/r/Coxinha.htm We had an extra stomach pouch for dessert so we tried the flan, passion fruit mousse, and coconut pudding. That was about $3 per dessert (all yummy). We should have come here for Mardi Gras the following week. They had fliers up about Carnivale. I heard too that the owner is going to open another Brazil Grill in Hartford. More Churrascaria! read more
