3.75 stars if I could rate it that way. It's all you can eat. They have a sushi menu and a kitchen menu. My favorite was the sashimi pepper salmon. It comes served in a citrusy ponzu sauce and togaroshi seasoning. The yaki tori was kinda bland. The teriyaki sauce was the only thing saving it. I'm surprised you can't order bowls of rice to go on the side. Maybe people get them and waste them too often? They could stand to upgrade some of the furniture or maybe give it a fresh stain on the wooden sushi bar. I would come back with people who love sushi on a weekday night. It was pretty busy, which I was happy to see.

As always I arrived at this AYCE sushi spot just as they opened at 11 am on a Friday. I was greeted by some nice folks just finishing cleaning the floors. I was sat in the separate, back section. Maybe that's where they put the big boys and heavy eaters! My table had holes in the top of it. They have an extensive menu.......but be WARNED unlike other AYCE sushi places I've been to when you mark a 1 for example for your choice of an appetizer you don't get one order you get ONE piece! I found out the hard way! I received one single gyoza, one single piece of calamari! Yikes! As you can tell by the pics. They should definitely make that a little easier to understand. As far as the food quality goes, pretty standard AYCE sushi maybe slightly less than middle of the road. I enjoyed most of my rolls and the Philadelphia roll coming in as my favorite. The sushi rolls kept falling apart on me for some reason, which isn't really a big issue but it kept happening to me with all my rolls which made it a bit of a PITA. The chicken satay was horrible, reminded me of dry overdone liver. The service was to attentive almost to the point on bothering me, the constant watching me and hovering was a little weird like a storekeeper watching to see if someone was going to shoplift something. I was not asked what I wanted to drink, so I was given water. My second order of rolls contained no ginger, or wasabi and the overall presentation of all their product was lacking. I was also charged the dinner price at 12 noon on a Friday instead of the current, advertised lunch price for that time. A lot of things added up for me for my 3 star rating. I was 15 minutes away in the area so I thought I'd give this place a shot. I'm glad I didn't travel very far for the Sushi House. I don't think I'll be going back to the Sushi House. There are by FAR other AYCE sushi spots that are EASILY better than the Sushi House. The folks that rave about this place maybe need to check out some other AYCE sushi places outside of their neighborhood for a better comparison.

Service inside was great but I remember their AYCE menu being way bigger. The quality of sushi was decent but it also wasn't as good as I remembered. It's still a decent deal I suppose.

A group of us will get a big sushi craving and request Sushi House as our go-to for volume sushi/sashimi and tasty appetizers! Our favorites include the pepper salmon (pictured, ponzu flavor with a little spice kick, highly recommend) and kani salad. The variety of sashimi available is a nice aspect too! You have the option to request handrolls for specific rolls (if you want to switch things up). Although the sushi is the main feature, we tend to favor the apps. Service is consistently nice and quick, even when a whole fraternity reserves half of the restaurant...impressive!

Sushi House is a local AYCE spot in Rocky Hill. Be warned that on the weekends it can get BUSY. There are no reservations, so it's first come first serve for tables. This spot has gotten me through college with its AYCE option. It's the only spot with such a large variety of options and one of the few that even offers sashimi as an option. Personally, the quality fits its price. For $26/pp you're getting what you're paying for - the service quality included. Our server was very kind, would offer us menus when we were getting low, and was speedy. You have to ask for water and sometimes the sushi takes a bit to come to the table - especially if you order a lot at once. That being said, it's okay sushi. It's not phenomenal and at times the fish is warm - not cool as it should be to help with bacteria which is a bit concerning. If you're looking for quantity over quality, this is the place. If you're looking for omakase or really fresh fish, this is not the place for you.

Can't beat sushi buffet price .. all u can eat for 26.95. It was good. I mean I've had better sushi , I had to bring my own GF sauce because they don't have any but overall not bad. They give 2 paper menus and we filled out everything we wanted. And then they come around again asking if you'll like to order more. Which we did. We had 2 different specialty rolls and 3 basics and split everything. They have salads, sushi rolls, tempura dishes.. apps, dessert and more. A little bit of everything. The restaurant is packed. So they do well. People come and go. Very casual place. But busy. I'm Glad I got to check it out.

This Wonderful All you can eat Sushi place never disappoints. The sushi rice combined with delicate slices of fresh chilled fish and sometimes a surprise of wasabi delights my palate, combining with their delicious eel and tobiko creates a custom personalized combination that is mouth watering. The restaurant is very clean and cozy quiet, perfect for family and friends for lunch or a great place for a date at dinner time, being all you can eat, a pick eater is certain to find something delicious on the sushi or kitchen menus. I'm happy to share that even during the busier times of the meal rush hours, the wait staff are attentive and the food is brought out to you in quick succession. I have been enjoying Sushi House in Cromwell for over 10 years and have always been overjoyed with the quality and quantity for the price. Try it, I'm sure you'll love it. By the way, posting the pictures of food, made me hungry. See you all soon...

Great AYCE sushi place in the area! Some of my favorites are the pepper salmon, salmon sashimi, and the fried Oreos.

I went here on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was busy with most tables occupied but we were seated right away by a friendly staff member. We all opted for water and it was delivered quickly. By that time our appetizer order was all checked off on the order form and efficiently picked up by our server. We all ordered the Spicy Seaweed Salad. It was brought out quickly and was very good. I enjoyed every bite. After that, the meal was quite the blur. My son ordered everything that he knows I would like. As you can see by my pictures we had a little bit of everything. All I can say was that all the fish was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. We all had our fill of sushi, special rolls, sashimi, maki, and even ice cream, and deep-fried Oreos for dessert. The four of us ate every bite. Everything was clean, well-lit, and comfortable. Our servers were quick and attentive. our water glasses were never empty. I can't wait to go again.

We discovered Sushi House in February of 2022 while looking for an AYCE sushi spot out in Western MA and finding none at the time (now there are 2 in the Pioneer Valley). This spot knows how to do AYCE for the most part. We have had a couple longer wait times for our food, even when it isn't busy, but aside from that, we always enjoy our visits. The food is fresh, the orders are typically correct, the portions are great, the seating areas and bathrooms are clean, and the restaurant never gets too loud, even when completely packed. This is a wonderful spot for families and groups. I love that my child can try new types of sushi here without having to spend a fortune on rolls, as I would have to at a regular place. (Children are not full-priced.) If you and your date/partner love sushi, I highly recommend it, but understand this won't have a romantic ambiance. Food: When ordering appetizers and the fried kitchen dishes, you literally receive the number you write on the sheet...an order of broccoli tempura gets you 1 piece, so be aware of that. The one exception is the edamame. 1 order gets you a bowl of edamame. When you order the sushi, sashimi, and maki, depending on how much you place at once, the plates the waitstaff bring out can be bigger than the size of your head. My partner calls them sushi manhole covers, and he isn't wrong. Pics are from our most recent trip there in early July 2023.

I need to reiterate how good this place is. The appetizers were so fresh. Needed to wait a little for the food but we were in no rush. It was New Year's Eve, so I understood it was a busy day. Everything came out perfect. The spicy crab and salmon rolls were so good that we couldn't stop eating them. We just kept on ordering more. Lastly, the dessert always hit the spot. The fact that it is also unlimited just makes it even more amazing. Any of the ice creams go great with the fried Oreos. I would recommend anyone that visits to know what they want so they can submit their orders quick. This place hits all your cravings for a Japanese sushi restaurant. It seems to have gotten even better with time!

How is the quality of the sushi in the buffet?

It's excellent! But it is NOT a buffet, which is why it's so good. You order from a menu and it's made fresh for you - and served to you at your table. They are very busy so go through a LOT of sushi and always fresh.

I simply cannot imagine ordering anything other than their Curry Ramen bowl from this point forward. Like one would legitimately be insane not to get it, provided you are an average fan of standard Thai-style curries like Red, Panang, or even Las Vegas style Three-color (Red+Green+Yellow). My suggested mod: Ask for your home-crafted noodles a little extra "QQ" or chewy al dente. And ask for a side of their home-made chili oil to step up the Szechuan influence. Normally I shun the fusion or "new-style" menu items, but this Curry Ramen bowl is stuff of dreams. Perfectly executed, temperature hot, unforgettably umami, and the exact drinkable curry broth viscosity that is no accident. This bowl is a champion, folks!

It had a lively energy without feeling chaotic. I ordered the beef ramen and added shrimp, and everything came out in under 10 minutes. The broth had a really nice depth of flavor with a mild kick; not overpowering, just enough warmth. The beef was tender, the shrimp addition was worth it, and the portion size was generous. The space itself is clean and modern. I appreciated being able to see the kitchen area and the bar setup; everything looked organized and well run. The booth seating was comfortable, and overall it felt like a great spot for a casual lunch or relaxed dinner. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

I was confused when I first checked the menu options on the website because literally every choice said 'unavailable.' To be fair, it was 10:42AM and they open at 11. However, this remained the case until closer to noon, at which point I was able to build my own bowl. Picking two proteins was easy but they don't really make it clear how many mix-ins and toppings you can have, so I probably shorted myself. Ultimately I chose salmon and tuna with white rice, carrots, cilantro, pickled ginger, and green onions. After placing my order I waited for the promised email, which never came. Finally, after about 20 min, I saw that my order was 'complete' and headed over, miraculously scoring a parking spot right in front. Once inside it was more confusion as there is no dedicated pickup area, Mom was in her own prep and chop mode, and Pop was focused solely on walk-in orders. But after managing to catch his attention I was on my merry way, with a somewhat underwhelming poke bowl, ONE napkin, and the offer of chopsticks (which I declined). A takeout bag would've been appreciated but was not provided. Back at home I surveyed the bowl before digging in. Everything was accounted for and the fish was good. The rice tasted like yesterday's leftovers, though, and I've never been served cilantro stems instead of leaves. Again, the bowl was fine; not the best poke I've ever had, but I'd be willing to give them a second chance and perhaps choose some different or additional fixings next time.

The Age Tofu was pretty good as a general consensus, though most of the fried stuff was a bit too oily. The Kani Salad was pretty good (their spicy mayo is tasty). The fish is decent quality and fresh. Most of the sushi didn't have too much rice, which I liked. The rice held together well. Still, I prefered the "tataki" (sashimi with ponzu) over the sushi. I do wish they had a regular scallop sushi, as the spicy scallop sushi is a small piece of scallop with lots of spicy mayo and rice.
