Honestly I'd be inclined to leave a one star review but the dumplings in spicy sesame sauce and the shrimp toast were ok. The egg roll was tasteless and oddly mushy inside despite the crispy exterior, and boneless spare ribs were overly sweet and salty. Shrimp in lobster sauce was very watery and totally tasteless, and very weirdly had surimi mixed in with the shrimp. Husband liked the fried rice; not so much for me. This place is wonderful! I don't understand the hate for it on here. I've never had a bad dish here, never had a bad experience, and they're fast and the prices are maybe the best in the neighborhood. I've only been getting from here pretty recently though, so maybe they were bad a while back or something, but they're great right now. Finally a place that makes amazing chicken wings and is very friendly. Not only do they make the best food in the area they do have very favorable pricing and are always so nice. These four stars are given within the spectrum of fast, Chinese takeout restaurants, you know the type with a bench or two, but no one really eats there. Far East is fast and consistent with their offerings. Nothing to write home about, but it will satisfy your fix for quick, cheap Chinese food. And to boot, they are very friendly. Oh no!!!! Do not eat here!!! It's really terrible because the food isn't fresh. Why are the Yelp reviews so awesome for this place? I feel duped! We ordered here and the food was such poor quality. The wonton soup tasted old, I took one bite of the wonton and immediately spit it out. The veggies were over cooked and gray, not fresh at all. Saw that this place recently opened up, and wanted to check it out. The quick verdict is that some of the dishes are good, and others have room for improvement. The veggie General Tso's was very good. The pieces had a lot of flavor and weren't too overcooked/dry. For whatever reason, this dish varies wildly from place to place, and it's a pretty good benchmark. Sesame noodles were alright, but nothing special. I did like the long cucumber slices. They always add a nice touch. On the downside, the curry chicken was really bland. I'm not exactly sure how you take something as pungent and flavorful as curry and make it bland, but they did. Oh well. The delivery was fine, and the rice was alright as well. It's worth checking out for their good dishes, and if they get it all together, could be a decent go-to Chinese place. read more

Was in park slope yesterday working and fell into the mood for chinese food. I didn't want to walk too far so I jumped on Yelp-of course, and this place was the closest. Only 1 review so I figured "why not just be the 2nd". I took the suggestion of the 1st review and had the chicken in garlic sauce with egg fried rice ( I was too hungry to experiment). It was pretty good- not the best chinese I've had but not bad at all. The place was nothing fancy, just your typical chinese neighborhood spot! My first takeout in the neighborhood leaves me wanting more but not that excited. Ordered an Egg Foo Young that tasted pretty bland despite the sauce given. The duck sauce does help. shrimp toast was good but a little bit burnt and tad oily. Imagine dipping a hamburger bun in water and then mashing some leftover pork fat inside. Singapore Mai Fan noodles- disgusting. The flavor was rank, way too much black pepper, and it didn't look or taste fresh at all. But it was really really cheap (5 dishes for $27) and came in 25 minutes. I would give a 3.5 if I could. I'm not sure about the very poor reviews. I always go and place my order in person and wait until it's done. I think they serve decent fare without any special twist. The woman who works at the front is incredibly energetic and nice. She and I have a nice relationship. She works every. single. day. I am amazed that she can keep it up. They rarely if ever take days off. I regularly come by for spare ribs or dumplings. There seem to be regulars who go there and pick up, just like me. I'm rarely the only on sitting there. I believe it's a family business, and sometimes her parents are there during rush hour. Their food tends to be more cliched chinese take out food (i.e.; sauces are a little on the sweeter side). I've been on a carb diet so I haven't tried any of their noodles, haha. read more

Okay. Fill disclosure, I order here at least once a week for like, two years. I've never really had an issue. Today we got a big order, and they forgot my can soda. I didn't even realize until we were half done. I made an offhand comment, but dismissed it since the service is always good. Lo and behold, five minutes later (a full half hour the after we got our food) the delivery guy came back and brought me my soda. Tbh if it was me as a delivery guy I wouldn't have come back. My husband and I stumbled upon this great restaurant about two years ago. We absolutely love this place and will only order here. They have the best chicken in garlic sauce. I order it almost every week. While my husband switches between their General Tso and sweet and sour chicken. My two year old son loves the vegetable friend rice too. I ordered a delivery and first of all it took forever to come. Said delivery would be 30-40 minutes but I got mine in 1 hour 30 minutes. After this poor services I was in no mood to tip the delivery person nor did I have the means of doing so (Only had one $20 bill in my wallet). When the delivery person showed up, very late, he rudely asked for a tip. When I said no tip he said "don't think about ordering a delivery ever again go pick up from the store." I ordered take-out from Far East today and the delivery guy had a bad attitude, I'm a regular at Far East since they reopened and I must say I was highly disappointed, I ordered a normal chicken wings w/ pork fried rice, and my colleague ordered chicken wings w/ french fries. The delivery guy came and we proceeded to tell him that our order was miscalculated, he stood there and then began to demand that we tip him or we weren't going to receive our food. Anyway we handed him the money and when he saw we did not include a tip, he dropped our money and took off running with the food.. lol.. now some of you might agree with this and others might not, however I have to say if I can afford to give you a tip, I will. I've always believed that given a tip is at the discretion of the one being served, so with that being said if you display good service then I will tip away, on the other hand, if you demand a tip, I will ignore you. The turn around happened when me and my colleague went over to Far East, in which we should've done in the first place. Nicely enough our complaint compelled them to remake our food and charge us justly. Overall the food is not bad at Far East but the delivery guy needs to learn a tip or two about being tipped! New menu states "all organic vegetables" so we tried it. Everything was fresh tasting, hot & cooked just right. General Tso white meat chicken was mild and tasty. Cold sesame noodles had just enough sauce (not awash like other places) but didn't have cucumber, instead green onions (?). Vegetable Fried Rice & Vegetable Egg Foo Young were also fine.
