Authentic Szechuan in Park Slope was pretty good the other night. After reading several reviews, I went and checked out the menu. There are almost too many choices, so I focused on the menu items with photos and the "House Specialities" and "Chef's Special" menu items. I've read that the Chong Qing Spicy Chicken is one of the best items and it's listed as one of the restaurant's "Best Sellers" for delivery orders. The Chong Qing Spicy Chicken description says it's deep fried and sautéed. The menu also offers bamboo steamed items and a vegetarian section. Lots of choices. I finally chose number 53 "The Dragon and Phoenix." The shrimp were large and the white chicken meat was tender. It comes in a chefs special sauce, an orange brown sauce that goes very well with the dish. Very happy with the meal. ** Mustard and extras were not included, no fortune cookie *** The food was pretty delicious & one of the best in the slope area, unless you want to go to Sunset Park where there's a lot of really great Chinese food.

This was a random walk-in for me. I'm glad I stopped in. I ordered the hot and sour soup. It was really tasty. We ordered shrimp shumai as an appetizer that was good. For my entree, I had the shrimp and scallops with veggies, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. My brother ordered the general tso chicken. I tried some, and it was so good. Not overly breaded at all. Great portions for the price here. The service was friendly and felt like home. I'd visit again.

One day I was desperate for good authentic Szechuan food without having to travel to Chinatown. I thought I try this spot. It looked legit and the menu seem authentic enough. When I order my food for take out. I ate it fairly within good timing because the food was still hot. The spicy fish was average. Wasn't anything of special to me. The salt and pepper was okay. It was popular the best dish of the 3 I had. The duck was the worst. Really dry. Chuck that into the garbage asap. This is one and done for me. Only if I'm desperate I will come here.

Have ordered from here a few times now and while it's a tad on the pricey side the food is really, really good! Of all the things I've gotten the best has been the wontons in chili oil. There was a lot going on in the sauce not just spice and garlic, which is always delish but nice to have more! Also big fan of the double cooked pork and their soups! The shrimp with broccoli had really plump shrimps and the broccoli was crispy, not oily at all. The only thing that I've had from there that wasn't good was their fried dumplings. Tasted straight up like frozen Trader Joe's Gyoza. So just get those spicy wontons instead!

Snow 89. Sauteed Pea Shoot with Garlic / 10. Beef and Trip in Chili Oil/ C22. Cumin Style Lamb / - A dish featuring steamed white rice accompanied by sautéed leafy greens, beef in chili oil, and pickled vegetables, typical of Chinese cuisine.

Warning: this is not a review about Americanized Chinese food or your Panda Express like Chinese takeout. Born and raised in China, I always worry about not having authentic Chinese food around after I moved to United States. I lived on UWS for three years before moving to Park Slope in 2015. Luckily there's one Chinese restaurant in the hood that serves some authentic Chinese spicy food. Believe me, I tried almost everything in the hood before settling down with Authentic Szechuan. Early on during COVID-19 lockdown, they closed for a couple of months. I was heartbroken worrying this gem would be closed like many other businesses. Fortunately they came back! Food is always consistent, delivery is always fast, and they use their own delivery person(tip more please)! I urge you to try things under House Special if you don't know much about authentic Chinese cuisine. You will get more delicious food there. I rarely order Americanized section because I often find them to be too sweet for my taste, but it seems to be common for my American friends(another Diet Coke please, anyone?) But of course, if you really want to enjoy Authentic Chinese food, please support Chinatown(Manhattan, Flushing and 8th Ave in Brooklyn)! They deliver too through Seamless, UberEats, and Chowbus.

So good!!! Authentic. Tastes very similar to the HOT & TASTY restaurant in Flushing, Queens. Ordering was easy, friendly. And food comes piping hot in 20 minutes. Everything was fresh, delicious. Love it!!!

The pork with garlic sauce was absolutely delicious. This one isn't spicy so it didn't numb the mouth. The mapo tofu was also delicious and a little spicier but still not numbing the mouth. Def better to have it with rice though. The green pepper fish was mouth numbing and honestly I couldn't taste much of the flavor because the combination of spice and the hot temperature of the food was overbearing for me. So if you're like me and can tolerate some spicy but not numbing spicy then I would recommend telling them less spicy. Portions were perfect for 5 people (3 males and 2 females) as we ordered 2 of the pork with garlic sauce, 2 mapo tofus, and 1 big green pepper fish dish. We went on a Saturday at 5:30pm so it wasn't too crowded. Overall delicious and the staff were all friendly and very attentive in filling up our water for our spicy meal. The food is why we are all here and this place did not miss! We sat at the bar because we didn't have a reservation and it was a Sunday night. We were told the specials for the night with great detail, we snagged one of the last soup dumplings and they are incredible. The only other place I've had soup dumplings as good is in flushing - that's high praise from this queens girl. Next up we ordered the scallion pancakes - which ruined all other scallion pancakes for me. They were ultra crispy and flaky. The dipping sauce was deeply flavorful and the portion was perfect. We also ordered the chicken wantons that came in a chili crisp oil and peanut sauce, delicious. The pork noodles were the secret star because the description was pretty straight forward. But my partner is a chef and insisted we get them. They were some of the best noodles I've ever had. Definitely made in house and they were coated in a flavorful sauce. Food was decent and there are a lot of options on the menu. Would I come here again? Maybe to try their rice dishes after reading other reviews, but I wouldn't come back for the tomato based hot pot. Ambiance 3/5: A little chaotic. A lot of kids (middle or high schoolers) probably because of the cheaper prices and according to other reviews a discount with student ID. Another large party came in and started moving tables around and people that appeared to be regulars seated themselves. Service 4/5: We were seated immediately at a table for 2 on a Saturday afternoon. Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. It became busier towards the end of our lunch and it was hard flagging someone to bring us a check. Food 4/5: Decent. Main selling point is its affordability. I regret not looking at other reviews before coming here as people say their rice dishes are pretty good. We got their pre-made tomato hot pot soup base, GF got the original soup base, and some stir fried potatoes. - Tomato hot pot 3/5: I did like this at first. Not sure if the saltiness of our appetizer overpowered the flavors of the soup but it started to taste too sweet (kind of like ketchup?). Slightly disappointed at that. I tried the original soup base and like it more so probably pick another base if you come here. No complaints about the ingredients you get to add though, those were delicious. I chose Udon, fatty beef, fish filet, honeycomb tripe, and enoki mushrooms. - Stir fried potatoes 4/5: They look like fries but they're not crispy. Very flavorful though; salty and spicy.
