Went in to buy a pair of sneakers, i asked a staff member were are their sneakers she didn't know what sneakers were , she said tenis shoes are there to the left , I also asked her were the bathroom is , she said that she is going to unlock the bathroom for me but she usually doesn't let anybody to use the bathroom but she will let me use it , I mean what kind of bussines doesn't have a bathroom for their costumers? We are in California have you looked at the laws? You are supposed to have an available bathroom for your costumers , not a hidden locked bathroom. Ended up buying a $94 pairs of shoes so I was not just using their bathroom without buying anything. Even dollar stores have available bathrooms . This is nonsense, open the bathroom and let your costumers use it anytime they are in the store shopping. read more

One of the best stores I've ever been to. I had to take my two year old daughter (autism diagnosed) to get shoes. This is a very stressful event, because she does not stay still, runs, screams, and just generally acts up. As I was trying to find her shoes, she just kept laying on the ground, crying and trying to remove things from the shelves. Not only did each of the workers who worked there come and help me with her, but brought stickers and water and tried their best to help me watch her so that I could get this trip done. During check out, my daughter was trying to run all over the store, to which one of the workers (a nice lady), stood by the front door and told me to just let her explore so that I could get a rest. I was consoled by the cashier, who told me of his children, and I left feeling like I got more than just a pair of shoes - I had people who understood and were so kind to me and my daughter. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size, but the free home delivery they offered me was great and the 15% off coupon that I got from checking in on Yelp always helps! Walked in the other day to see if they had some work shoes, was planning on just going in and out with the right size. I was in a hurry since I noticed I only had 10 minutes left, but I didn't even need to try the shoes on. When I walked in I was approached that I only have 5 minutes and my purchase needs to be rung up already, then they locked the doors with customers still in the store. Isn't that illegal? Idk... I just walked right out bc I know what it's like to work in customer service and I felt like they didn't want my business so late (5:47pm) so I just went somewhere else. I understand it's crazy times right now so it's good to know this is one less place I will be going. I have never really went here anyways besides for the occasional work shoes anyways. I like Famous Footwear because they have a nice selection and the prices are pretty decent. When I walk in I'm usually greeted by a hello which is nice customer service so that a plus in my book. I usually look for some basketball shoes or just take a look around to see what they have. This store is pretty big but as we all know the women's department is way bigger then the men. I like to check out their dress shoes because they carry Stacy Adams every once in a while. I like the shoes here way better then Ross and Marshall they just seem to be better quality. I will for sure continue to shop at Famous Footwear. read more

Not a good experience. Came in last week at 5:46pm to purchase a pair of Nike's. As soon as I entered the store, one of the ladies let me know with a rude tone that they close at 6:00pm. I told her I would be quick as I knew what I wanted. Instead of offering to help me, she continued to hover around me giving me the side eye. I was reminded multiple times by the same associate that they were closing soon, and when I asked if they had a certain size in stock for the shoes I wanted, she didnt even bother to help look, just said abruptly "everything is out here". I decided to purchase an alternate style and get out. I was out of the store at 6:02, and my wife and kids were waiting for me outside the store. They were also reminded that the store was closed as I left the building, which was pointless as my wife had already informed her that she was waiting for me. To top it off, I found out later that night that the same shoes I purchased were $20 cheaper at kohl's. I work as a manager of a retail store, and would never allow my employees to treat customers like this. Needless to say, I won't ever be back. read more

1 star for a clean store. HOWEVER... I bought a pair of boots on clearance, last pair. Tried them on in the store, and they felt fine so I bought them, with an employee guaranteeing me that if there were any issues, they could be returned. I found a similar pair for cheaper so I went to return. Guess what happened when I to return them? The employee said they looked worn and couldn't be returned because he couldn't resell it. I'm giving one star in hopes that a manager will see this! When I went in here to buy some sneakers the guy who helped me was new. He wasn't sure how to create an account or how to do the military discount. He was tall skinny blonde haired boy. (Not sure of his name) the guy who he asked to help him was tall, dark hair, dark beard, not sure of his name but he looked a bit older. The boy asked for help and I was so uncomfortable in how the man responded to him. He wasn't helpful at all! He was so rude! He basically told the boy you messed up! Stop messing up! He put him down, embarrassed him and wasn't helpful! The boy was simply asking for help and turning red while trying to get it and the line was forming but this man just felt the need to belittle him! I felt so bad for the kid! The man went over to his own register and asked for my phone number and then said yea you messed up you put it in the wrong spot! The boy was like ok where do I do it? He wasn't not willing to help him! It was so awkward i walked away and looked at sunglasses. I'm going to send an email to corporate as well it was heart breaking and no one learning s new system deserves to be treated that way especially in front of customers! I ordered a pair of running shoes online and when I got them today, they were too big! :( Anyways, I went in 30 minuets before closing to return them (sorry hahaha but I really just wanted new running shoes) and the first person to greet me was a man with glasses. I'm so sad that I didn't look at his name tag or ask for his name because he was so nice and knowledgeable about running shoes! This location has a nice selection.... but the employees are so pushy!! I was fine looking on my own, deciding what I wanted. The lady must have come up to me 10 times to see if I was almost finished. I have bad feet, so it takes me a long time to decide (30-45 minutes). My adult son and I just wasted 45 minutes in this business. When we walked in, the store was empty except for the manager (whom I recognized from a previous visit) and one saleswoman. Neither of them greeted us. We searched the offerings, and each of us found two pairs of shoes we liked, but could not find the correct sizes. Trying them on half a size either way confirmed the sizes we needed, but searching for 15 minutes with our heads practically upside down yielded only shoes in the correct size in the correct stack, but of a different color. The whole time we tried on shoes and hunted the aisles the manager engaged in loud conversation with the female employee on topics unrelated to business; they were not more than 15 feet away from us. In spite of the fact that I loudly said that I really need another size, and I wished I could get some help checking, and also that I wondered if they could search other stores for the shoes, they completely ignored me. Finally, we gave up and left. Just before we left, a woman walked in (presumably a customer) and they greeted her like an old friend. After reading reviews here, it turns out you can order the size and get free home delivery! Who knew? We won't be going back. I've never seen such lazy, uncaring employees! read more

I returned to exchange the shoes for a half size larger and was told i was out of luck, they would not take them back. After complaining they did take one pair back but refused to exchange or allow a return on the second pair. read more

I arrived in need of new tennis shoes for work. Manager Elsa warmly greeted me at the door and made sure I knew I was welcome to ask for help anytime. I usually buy merchandise without assistance, but this time I thought that since they were so friendly and approachable, I might as well explain exactly what I needed in a shoe, since I have developed some foot problems due to being on my feet all day. I'm so glad I did, because I was given advice and suggestions I had not thought of. I had grown tired of buying cheap shoes and wanted a pair which would be extra impact absorbing. What I bought makes me feel like I'm walking on cushions! Great sale prices for such high quality name brand shoes, and with the additional discounts they gave me at the register, I ended up paying about the same as what I used to pay at other stores for cheaper quality shoes.
