Texas Beef Brisket
Kimberley A.

Burnt Ends 3/10 These were NOT burnt ends. They were just meat chunks, and they weren't even burnt. They were not vey tender either. Que Combo - 1 meat - Texas Beef Brisket 6/10 Didn't really taste like low and slow smoked bbq, could have been more tender and also there was no fat. - Sweet Corn (on the cob) 6/10 Wasn't sweet, and was overcooked so the corn was a little mushy. - Garlic Red-Skin Mashed Potatoes 6/10 Decent. Not really garlicky though. - Cornbread muffin 8/10 Actually pretty good, and I don't like cornbread. The muffin top was the best part, had a few crispy parts to it. Chicken quarter Actually good and juicy. Baked potato Huuuge potato.

I was so excited to see Famous Dave's open in Sandusky, especially in such a great waterfront location! We were really looking forward to trying it out. I even called ahead to confirm that the patio was pet-friendly, and was happy to hear that it was. Unfortunately, our visit didn't go as we hoped. When my husband and I arrived, we went to the bar area and weren't greeted or given any direction. We weren't sure if we should wait to be seated or just pick a spot, so after asking, we were told to sit anywhere. We chose a table near the water -- the whole reason we came! Shortly after, a server came outside and asked if we'd checked in with the host. We explained that we had spoken to the bartender, who said to sit wherever. The server left, and no one came back. After waiting, my husband went to ask the bartenders if anyone would be helping us. That's when the server came out again, and we were told the section we were in was closed, so we needed to move. This meant packing up all of our things -- including our dog's setup -- to relocate. Meanwhile, we could hear the bartenders and server arguing about the situation, including comments about it being too hot outside and some unnecessary language. At that point, we felt unwelcome and decided to leave. Sadly, we'll never get that 20 minutes back, and it felt like no one really wanted to help. Disappointing, especially since we were so excited for this spot.

Chopped pork sandwich was more like a slider. Tiny portion of pork and coleslaw. My wife and son liked their rib dinners.

It was a awfully long wait. They took ages to seat us. We were starving because the food was taking so long.

The place radiates friendliness and you truly feel like a regular when you walk in, warmly greeted right away and taken care of the entire duration of your meal. My family had returned after a long day of theme park food and I needed something lite - and their seasonal salad was just what I needed. It was a very generous portion with some of my the sweetest strawberries I've ever had with candied walnuts, feta cheese, and a delicious vinaigrette to go along with it. Skip the theme park dining when you can - or at the very least, supplement it with this delicious cuisine and friendly service.

For an appetizer, we ordered the wedge salad and the Buffalo Chicken dip. I got the perch dinner for my main course. The kid got a chicken sandwich and my wife got the brisket Mac n cheese. They said that the kitchen was backed up. Honestly, it was totally not an issue. We were just relaxing, watching the game and chilling after a 7 hour drive from NJ. What was an issue was...... appetizers came out exactly the and time as the main courses. WHY????????? It couldn't have taken that long to throw blue cheese, bacon and tomatoes on a chunk of lettuce and pump out the Buffalo Chicken dip and then worry about the main courses later. Now we have to decide, do we want to eat the entrees or even touch the appetizers. That alone always ruins everything. Food was very good. Like I said, people were very nice but you just can't bring everything out at once. Defeats the point of "starting" with something.

This is a super cool public market hall in downtown Sandusky with maybe 15ish (just a guess) local businesses like a bakery, bowling alley, axe throwing game space, ice cream shop and boutiques. This is a cool place to spend an hour or two just browsing and supporting local while grabbing some dessert. The building has some type of history to it which I was unable to readily find online (boo, that is so odd). But the history is paid homage in the design of this space, with old timey photos of Sandusky and Cedar Point blown up on the walls and little stories to accompany them. The design is actually brilliant. It's a cool mixture of old school heritage meets modern rustic vibes. It makes you want to stop and look. The businesses in this building are open during the pandemic, just make sure to check with each business directly before visiting as most of the hours are likely changed. I stopped by here extremely quickly (I do not go out much during the pandemic) to pick up some pre-paid birthday treats from Bake Erie. It has a spacious, accessible parking lot and is just a joy to browse. Check it out for yourself, than continue exploring the surrounding area of local businesses... and Lake Erie :)

Don't let the exterior fool you--this place is an absolute winner…read more Pull up to the building and you might question whether you're in the right spot, but step inside and the warm ambiance and friendly staff immediately put you at ease. While the menu features typical bar fare like stuffed jalapeños and hushpuppies, the moment the food hits your table, you realize they are not messing around: Jalapeño Poppers: Top-notch batter and a incredible golden crisp. Hushpuppies: Served with a brown sugar butter that is pure bliss! Seasoned Fries: Absolute perfection. My family was thoroughly pleased with every single entree we ordered, from the fresh Caesar salad to the stuffed burger. My husband, who is extremely picky about meat quality, declared it the best burger he's ever had. Stuffed burgers are notoriously tricky to cook to a preferred well-done without drying out, but the kitchen nailed it! My only minor critique--and this is just personal preference as a bit of a seasoning buff--is the perch. The fish itself was amazingly fresh, which is the most important detail, but the fried batter was a little plain for my taste. I would've loved a kick of Old Bay or extra seasoning in the batter, similar to how amazingly seasoned the fries were! All in all, this spot is a great hidden gem in Sandusky. Highly recommend stopping in!

The food was great, waiting for it... Not so good…read more To be fair, it was packed on a Friday night. We waited 45 minutes to get a salad, it was a Caesar salad salad and they were already out of Romain dressing at 7 PM on a Friday night. We had a Caesar salad salad with spring mix instead... No big deal. The portions were huge, but our dinner came in an hour and 15 minutes after we sat down. It was painfully slow, I will say our waitress was apologetic and helpful. And I know that it was busy, but it's really no excuse for it to look so dirty. It only takes a minute to sweep under a table after a party leaves. The bathroom was deplorable, there was water on the floor and muddy footprints everywhere. The napkins on the ground around the tables along with discarded french fries and shrimp tails were a bit gross. The food is five star, the rest... ehhhhh

Pretty much this has really become my favorite place to grab some much needed sustenance when inside Cedar Point as the Foldovers are all really good and definitely unique as I haven't seen any other parks doing sandwiches like this! The crispy chicken one is delicious it's full of lettuce tomato crispy chicken and some ranch dressing to make it just that much better with that yummy Foldover bread which kinda resembles a pita bread and you know it just fits! The Italian one is also really good too as it's filled with Italian meats and some veggies with a vinaigrette to ad some more zest to something that's already yummy! The meatless sausage one thought is also definitely where it's at as it's also one of the best vegetarian options in the park this Foldover sandwich packs some flavorful goodness inside just get it and you'll see what I mean! They accept Dinning Pass here so definitely take advantage of that or don't forget to use your season pass for a discount off your purchase! The Foldovers come with fries or a side salad so just let them know and you'll be all good with your sandwich! They also have chicken tenders here but it's all about the folded goodness so just get one you'll be thankful you did! Overall delicious goodness inside the park you soo know I'll be coming here again soon for some Foldover yumminess!
