Stopped in on a busy island Saturday yesterday for lunch. Was seated immediately in a charming old booth with a view of the main drag and The Boardwalk. Lunch was great! We both had the cup of soup and half turkey sandwich on sourdough. I had tortilla soup and my husband had chicken noodle. Both were liked. Turkey on the sandwich was far better than standard gluey deli turkey. Decaf coffee was surprisingly good. Server Austin was helpful and cheerful. We will be back! read more

A tavern feel with all the wood. Sat at the bar for drink and was greeted right away. The young blonde girl was very friendly and gave us more information on Put in Bay. She mad an amazing islander mule! It was the best drink I have had at Put in Bay! Sorry, I did not get her name but her sister works on the docks. I did tell her the drink was delicious. Went back her name is Grace! Bartender Mike is really good as well, he made my second drink. read more

Stopped by here to check out the menu for dinner and to have a drink. We ended up ordering the Lake Erie Walleye Nuggets appetizer and they were delicious. In fact, they were so good that we decided to come back later for dinner and plan on ordering the walleye dinner that comes with fries and coleslaw. The waiter was awesome too! read more

Resturant has street view. Had fishmans combo. The portion is enough for two and taste is ok. I wish fish could have more batter on it.

So hungry and thirsty after a bike ride around the island. Our waiter had a great recommendation on a local IPA. The hostess recommended the walleye which was also great (and huge). The burger was just okay. The wait for food was a little long because they were not very busy. read more

A great dinner spot in the island! Pretty casual ambiance, nice tables and booths facing the road, which led to great people watching. We started with the mozzarella sticks, which were great! Crispy outside with gooey cheese inside. I got the perch and pierogis, and it was an excellent choice. I don't always gravitate toward fish as a first choice, but I was intrigued by this combo! The tartar sauce was amazing for dipping (I don't always love it, but this one was so good) and the fish was crispy delicious. The pierogis came with sour cream and were pillowy soft. The meal also came with coleslaw. This is another dish that can be hit or miss for me, but theirs was really good! Flavorful but not doused in sauce. Also ordered at the table was the western burger, and it was tasty as well! The service was great and they brought us Andes mints with our check! read more

We popped into Mossbacks to order some takeout for lunch. It was a gorgeous day, so we took it over to the picnic tables at DeRivera Park across the street to enjoy it. Our service was kind and attentive, HOWEVER, that doesn't excuse the horribly small portion sizes. I gott the Walleye and Pierogis here... portion sizes are horrible. 3 small pierogis, a small serving of coleslaw (wouldn't be surprised if it was store bought), and not even a full filet of walleye for $24. Save your money and go across the street to Topsy Turvey and get good food and more food for less $$. Made this our first stop on our yearly sisters trip this month. None of us I tried Mossbacks before so we were excited to try it out. Definitely a great decision. Wide selection on the menu so it was hard to make a selection but everyone was very happy with their selections. Even though we are all women of a certain age we can get a little loud and act quite silly. The staff was so friendly and even laughed along with us. Hey, it's our vacation with no men allowed. The food was wonderful and so was the staff. We will be sure to stop by on our next Sisters trip. Oh and I got the cutest OSU tshirt for my granddaughter. read more

This restaurant is a classic. Every year when we go to the island it's a staple to get the perch sandwich. The perch is always flaky and perfectly thin breaded. This time we also tried the onion rings and the walleye nuggets and both were amazing. The onion rings were breaded thick and were served with a honey mustard type of sauce. The walleye nuggets had a Cajun seasoning on them, with a thin breading. The place is a little on the pricey side, but worth every penny. One of the best restaurants in the area for walleye/perch. read more

IF you are having fun and have had a few drinks, do not go here. The judgmental manager refused to serve us drinks, without even knowing what we wanted to drink. She assumed we were drunk, because we were laughing and having fun. We ordered, food never came, drama ensued, then left. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of things to try! We had an espresso martini which was good, but fairly average. Our waitress suggested the orange creamsicle drink which they are known for. It was really good! For dinner we had an assortment of appetizers, none of which stood out much. Lake Erie Walleye Nuggets were our favorite we tried. We also had pierogis, mozzarella sticks, and a cup of chili. All of which were good, just not exceptional. Nice and clean restaurant! read more

Have eaten here many times, but this year (June) my walleye was very fishy and the perch was soft to soggy. I was particularly disappointed because I brought some family here for the first time, talked it up, and then we had a very avg meal. A fish platter for $30 has to be better than this. Delicious food and on the spot service. This was my favorite meal during my summer trip to Put-in-Bay. I've never had Perch and I am not normally a big fan of freshwater fish, but Mossbacks served up a delicious fresh Lake Erie Perch served with potato and cheese pierogies. Probably the worst lunch I've had in a long time . The perch sandwich had so many bones it was not edible and the the chicken sandwich was slimey and undercooked .
