I enjoyed chorizo scrambled eggs, refried beans and home fries - see pic. It reminded me of my dear friend from work, Irma's family breakfast she'd share with us. Hubs had made his own feature, 2 huge pancakes, sausage & eggs, typical Oak Harbor diner fare executed very well; no pic because it's normal for Kozy's. We felt both of our breakfasts for fairly priced as they were plentiful. Kozy's still opens early for their regular breakfast features and has plenty of small town offering on their menu. They are now open later for Mexican dinner features as of 1/5/26, I'm looking forward for full on Mexican dinners to try! Jill, our server was as wonderful as ever--so pleasant, prompt service and kind, on our visit 1/9/2026. It was great to see so many long-time staff & friends still working there, under the new management. They always greet you when you come in and make you feel welcome. I especially enjoyed how enthusiastic the staff were about the new project and how the owner chatted about their new menu, when we paid for breakfast. The interior has been refreshed with a calm light blue gray paint, cream curtains, farmhouse wallpaper and tasteful Mexican pictures. The 50's mural has retired and extremely white ceiling lights have been toned down a bit. They still offer plenty of counter seats to dine at as well, nice for when you just want to quietly relax enjoy solid cup of coffee, good Mexican & check what's on Facebook/Pinterest a bit. Also, I enjoyed the beautiful Mourning Dove in her nest, in a small bush by the north-facing window, looking in at the diners activities. There's easy parking onsite and allowing quick access to the restaurant. They said they are in line for a liquor license but we all know that takes forever. I hope they ask town council for an amendment to get a boundary change for the DORA right away. Hopefully being in DORA would help move their license app to be approved. IMO there's nothing better than a good Margarita with my Mex or with today's to go changes, to have a treat at home. I wish there would be room for a nice patio there too lol! I'm so glad someone took a chance and opened Mexican food in town! I'm finding it hard to get excited about the new places popping up around here--it feels like they're all just trying to be the next burger joint, wing spot, or deep-fryer obsessed. I'm hoping we, as residents, can all lend a hand in supporting this family owned restaurant option.

We ended up eating here 2 days in a row! I chose this restaurant for our Saturday night dinner…read morebecause the specials on the board out front and the dessert list looked great, and they were. Saturday night was pretty popular and the patio was full, so we sat inside, which is why our photos were rather dark. We started with a round of drinks. I had a glass of rose. Note that the drinks menu is several pages longer than the food menu, with beer, wine, and a variety of specialty and standard cocktails. They also have an espresso bar. It wasn't on the menu, but we ordered the Street Corn dip from the specials board on the sidewalk. We got a nice sized serving, and it was very good. I had the za'atar roast chicken for my entree, and it was delicious! The chicken comes with a lemon yogurt sauce, and Fattoush salad, but the salad was kind of a cross between Fattoush and tabbouleh, with pita chips and a grain base. It was a great combo, and the chicken was very juicy and seasoned nicely. I ended up with a slice of the almond cake, which was moist and had sliced almonds on top. Very much needed after missing out in the ice cream stop this afternoon! One of my friends had a bowl of gumbo and the other one had the taco pie. Since everyone enjoyed their dinner, and we confirmed that the patio was dog friendly, we returned with Miss Pup for brunch. We were able to snag a patio seat with a super friendly server. Miss Pup mostly hung out under the table, but managed to convince some other diners to pet her. We went with some plates for the table - Chicken and Waffle, Chilaquiles, and the special Quiche, which had sundried tomatoes, bacon and feta. All 3 portions were just right for us. The chicken was really moist and the waffle had slightly crispy edges. It came with some fruit and syrup. The quiche slice was generous and it came with a large portion of salad with a fruity vinaigrette. The sundried tomatoes were a really fun addition! I chose the chilaquiles. I'm pretty sure the chips were fried fresh (the ones last night were not), and I liked that it had beans and pico on top! This dish did not contain enchilada sauce, it was more like breakfast nachos, but I really enjoyed it. This place is definitely worth a stop, and the menu stands out from the standard island fish and chips and burgers fare (not that I dislike those things, just something different)!

The outside area has about 20 greenhouse style buildings set up that sell a variety of items from clothing to homemade pottery. The buildings are each heated and they have several fire pit areas along the paths to stay warm. If you want to eat inside you will need to make reservations in advance. Outside the offer stands with soup, sandwiches and wine. Fun experience and pictures look magical!

But... last night we decided to have dinner after spending time at the Holiday Market and the dining experience was a huge disappointment. We waited over 10 minutes for a server to greet us and get our drink orders. 40 minutes after ordering, our server stopped by to tell us that our apps would be coming soon. The Walleye bites were good but not seasoned and the entrees were disappointing. I had a harvest salad which would have been lovely but the "dressing" tasted like it was made from extremely strong puréed onion and nothing else. At the end of the meal, we waited another 20 minutes for the check and after almost two hours, we paid $100 for poor service, a bowl of fried fish pieces, a cheeseburger, a bowl of mediocre bisque and a salad that was just awful. Not the experience that we hoped for! We will be back for the Christmas Market next year but I think we'll opt for another dinner option next time. I would rate the wine bar and Christmas Market 5 stars! Unfortunately, the dining experience was dismal and left us with a bad (and very oniony) taste in our mouths!

This is the proverbial step back in time ! The diner has been meticulously cared for. The decor is a thoughtful collection of memorabilia from a time when counter diners were all the rage! Our server Emma was sweet and very good!! She checked on us and made sure everything was good. I will have to come back for the country fried steak and gravy for breakfast. We arrived about 1:30 pm, so understandably they weren't serving breakfast. I got the Rosie the riveter bean burger and fries. My husband ordered the tin goose burger. I avoided the milkshake because I had my eye on the coconut pecan pie. However, once I finished the delicious bean burger and perfect fries, I didn't have room for pie. :-(. The good news is, I'm coming back! Opportunity to try other items !!! My husband Loved his burger. He said it was tender and cooked to perfection. Smash burgers eat your heart out!! The buns were perfectly toasted too! Excellent diner! Would give 10 stars if possible ! Thank you for capturing the diner experience both visually and tastefully. "Functioning Artifact" truth! The kitchen did a great job that evening. I ordered off the "Secret Menu" and got the Chicken Triestana, and my husband ordered the fish and chips. When the food came to the table it was incredibly hot, full of flavor. My chicken was perfectly executed. The meat was hot, tender juicy, full of flavor and lemon and artichoke. It was enjoyed by myself, and my husband. Next was his fish, hot, crispy, thick, juicy. The cod also was very flavorful, the cole slaw was incredibly delicious and a perfect pair for the fish. The fries were hot, crispy and the perfect side also. Both meals were truly enjoyed, we can't wait to go back. The service, the kitchen staff, they knocked it out of the park in our opinion.
