Loaf of bread with custom made cherry butter

Some might consider this a hole in the wall but the local folks know it well. I eat here twice a year, and it is one of the best dining experiences around. Rustic country atmosphere mixed with an elite fine dining menu experience the food here never falls short. Known for their steak and walleye (and to some lesser extent seafood) the prices aren't extraordinary while the food always is.

Stopped here, not long ago for a nice dinner. First time here, but when I head and sat at the bar. The place was pretty busy, but we were served in short order. Both of us extremely enjoyed our meals with a filet mignon and I had seafood. The drinks are fantastic in the bartender was spot on. I will definitely be back as this is not really that far from home.

Steak was fine. Service was excellent. But How does a steak house not know how to make a decent baked potato?

Great food with a warm restaurant decor. This restaurant is always busy. Don't be surprised if you have to wait for a table.

Marconi's is a classic American-Italian restaurant, that also serves terrific chef's specials…read moreweekly. Under new management, the place has continued the Martello family tradition of great, handcrafted food in a hometown setting, but with a bit of an updated vibe. First, they do a fantastic job with gluten free options, and the chef's specials are phenomenal, also often with a GF capability. They have an artisan pizza crust,; tortellini; penne; and a Parmesan cream sauce -- all GF! The pizza crust is really terrific - much more like a "real" crust (which, their regular pizza is something I miss!) and they provide you with topping options that go from routine to delectably less common. I highly recommend their specials -- the chef is super talented; I love the steak tips; chicken Marsala; and fennel sausage (when they have it). Gluten not an issue -- try everything!! The Caesar salad is quite good, and the house Italian dressing a tradition. Their staff is friendly (shout out to Christina and Kate, and my beautiful friend Angie) the bar staff (the awesome Staci and Diann) who are consistently rated best in the area; and upbeat manager Hailey is a delightful presence. You can't go wrong.

| Marconi's Italian Restaurant -- Huron's Heart, Italy's Soul…read more If you're heading to Huron, Ohio -- whether you're visiting family, passing through, or lucky enough to call it home -- do yourself a favor and make a stop at Marconi's Italian Restaurant. This isn't just a restaurant. It's a local institution. A tradition. A memory-maker. I've been going to Marconi's for as long as I can remember. It's where we gathered as a family, brought friends to impress, and celebrated everything from casual weeknights to meaningful milestones. The moment you walk in, you're greeted like an old friend -- because if you've been once, they remember you. That kind of warmth and familiarity? It's rare. But it's part of what makes Marconi's so special. Now let's talk food. Their homemade lasagna is an all-time favorite -- layers of rich sauce, perfectly seasoned meat, and creamy cheese that hits straight to the soul. And the calamari? An absolute must. Lightly breaded, crispy, and always fresh. It's the kind of dish that turns calamari skeptics into lifelong fans. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance: rustic, welcoming, and just Italian enough to feel like you've been whisked away to a cozy village in the hills of Tuscany. They've got a beautiful outdoor patio for those perfect warm Ohio evenings, and if you're not in the mood to dine in, guess what -- they have a drive-thru. Yep. Top-tier Italian takeout right to your car. Marconi's also goes above and beyond with family menus, banquets, events, and catering. Whether it's a birthday bash, wedding shower, or just dinner for a crowd, they bring their A-game every time. It's that kind of versatility and hospitality that's kept them at the top for so many years. In a world full of chain restaurants and forgettable meals, Marconi's is a place that sticks with you -- for the food, the family feel, and the memories made around the table. An absolute must-visit if you're in Huron. And if you're a local who hasn't been in a while? Go back. They'll still remember you. And it'll still be as good as you remember.

The host was manager when we visited and we were sat quickly. The server Maddie was polite, friendly, and quick to serve, she had at least 5 tables and was quick on her feet for refills, sauces, and service. We started with the spicy chicken bites. They tasted fresh, had a great crunch, with excellent flavor. If you are a fan of spicy this is on a 2 to 5 scale. You also are served fresh bread made in house with butter. I ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken / half rack of ribs. They have a combo style for ordering and you can swap things if you'd like, for the price it's great to try something new. The chicken was made perfect. I ended up having to finish the ribs at home, once again, perfect. Yes you could get something more "affordable" but for a date night, or you want to enjoy yourself, the quality is there. We made sure to ask for a manager (if they weren't busy!) to let them know they did a great job. I threw him through a loop with, "If I was in prison for 20 years I would want this exact plate coming out". Thanks for being a good sport and keeping up with Longhorn. We will be back !

While it was cooked to my liking (medium) it was dry. I couldn't bring myself to like it due the excessive charring on each bite. The normal ribeye, on the other hand, was nice and juicy and 12 oz (vs the 20 oz outlaw). Some parts were too fatty but overall a nice experience. Sides: sweet potato was nice and sweet. Came with butter which not needed. Broccoli was kid friendly. Shrimp was ok. Banana peppers paired well with shrimp. Actual shrimp was very small. The breading filled a lot of the dish, which i had to take off because it was too much at the end. Nice clean atmosphere. Service was fast and attentive.
