Some chicken salad croissants, which were really good and then for dessert we really wanted the pie, but we were full so we just got a chocolate chip cookie and a coffee cake cookie both really great. Monster in my Meal: i've been going to Berardi's for 45 years ever since my parents took me to the Hearing location when it first opened. These days I meet my friends for breakfast on the weekends and we normally have Barb as our waitress. She always does an awesome job and is so kind. On the last day of a Fall trip we stopped in for breakfast at Berardi's Family Restaurant on a warm October Friday morning. The full parking lot had the lovely aroma of hamburger - the sign of a perfectly seasoned grill. My wife and I were seated quickly at the back which gave us a view of the whole restaurant. Full of people -- families, retirees, people eating before work -- the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server -- Linda-- was friendly, chatty, efficient and took excellent care of us. The coffee was delicious and our cups runneth over with frequent refills. My wife's country omelet was perfect. Cheesy, crisp onions and simply delicious. The homefry heaven was indeed heaven on a plate. The two biscuits were obviously homemade. The sausage gravy was just this side of heaven! Creamy with a captivating sausage taste. The layer of homefrys underneath the eggs, cheese and layer of sausage gravy were crisp and well done. It was a meal that I will remember for quite some time. If you find yourself in Huron. Eat here. We were visiting Kalahari and didn't want to eat on site every day. We found this place for an early dinner, and I'm so glad we did! The portions were quite generous. I had the crispy chicken BLT and the bun could not contain the chicken breast. I ended up using a knife and fork, the hallmark of eating a really good hearty sandwich. My husband had the patty melt and enjoyed it. The fries were thick cut but cooked well. We enjoyed dessert, apple pie à la mode for me and peanut butter pie for him. Not a great experience after several amazing stops here. Waited 20 mins for party of 3. They didn't announce they were out of Quinoa patties so when we ordered them we had to re-choose, so we asked to sub the patty for a potato one, (which was 3.59 vs 3.79 a la carte), & they wouldn't do it. If they ran out of something then they should accommodate the customer, especially on an equivalent and reasonable substitution. After changing to another item, my wife wanted to sub meat for fruit & it was a struggle but they finally allowed it. Maybe more vegetarian items should be on the menu if they're running out of quinoa in three hours. I ordered pot roast skillet w/ just the potatoes on the side since I told server I'm diabetic & won't eat the potatoes. My skillet came out as two over-easy eggs with a minuscule amount of pot roast pieces scattered about looking pretty sad. After 12 seconds when my roast was eaten I realized my cheese was melted on the potatoes & not the skillet! & the roast was a tad dry so it could use some gravy or Au jus. The other issue was the slow service, so they must have been short some staff b/c we usually get outta there much faster. Bout hour & a half total for wait + service. I can't believe I have not eaten here until now. My parents would tell me about the Berardi's fries they would get at Cedar Point and how good they were. It took me moving out of state and and a trip back to finally give this place a shot. We managed to get there right before the dinner rush and were sat immediately. Staff was friendly and the place was really clean, that stood out to me. We got the appetizer sampler and they allowed us to get extra mozzarella sticks in place of the onion rings which was nice. The fries were soooo good! So big and cooked perfectly. My hubby said that the Mozz sticks were the best he's every had. Flavorful, crispy coating with fresh cheese inside. The sauerkraut balls were also very good. These are something that I absolutely did not like as a kid, but have a new appreciation for now that I'm older. I liked that the sauerkraut did not overpower them as is the case sometimes. I got the 1/2 chicken salad on toast with a spinach avocado salad. The hubby got the 1/2 grilled ham and cheese and a ceasar salad. The food was so fresh and good! And a perfect portion size with the appetizer as a starter. For dinner I got the seafood bisque to start, which was creamy and had plenty of seafood, as well as the meatloaf dinner with green beans and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was probably the best I've ever had. Both meals I had to take leftovers home as the portion sizes were generous. Prices are also very reasonable. We came here based on other reviews on Yelp. This restaurant did not disappoint!! My wife and I both got fish. I had the perch and my wife had the walleye. Both were delicious but the walleye was better in my opinion. Both had a cornmeal breading that was perfectly crispy and the fish was really flaky. The fries were delicious as well. We had to finish out our meal with a slice of peanut butter chocolate pie. That was heavenly! Our server was attentive and kept our drinks full, she had recommendations of what to try and genuinely wanted to be there at the restaurant. We had driven in from Cleveland to go apple-picking at the orchard earlier in the day. We wanted a quick dinner before a long drive home and this was one of the few restaurants in the area. It's a traditional family-owned Italian restaurant, which was quite busy for a Saturday evening. We waited about 25 minutes for seating but were seated in a cozy booth in the corner. The waitress was wonderful and so sweet. Even though the chicken fettuccine alfredo wasn't officially on the menu, she was able to order it for us. My friend and I were going to split an entree, and they were even able to pre-split the entree before it was served, which was the perfect portion of food. We also were able to get a side of garlic bread with the meal, which we weren't charged for (though it did say extra on the menu). The food was very reasonably priced! They had a whole list of homemade pies on the back and if I wasn't so full from the day's adventures, I likely would have splurged. We walked in on a Tuesday and they wanted to seat us at a huge round table where we would never have been able to talk to one another. Coincidentally there was a table of 6 with a Reserved sign. Checked this place out while I was in town! The staff was friendly, they had a good variety on their menu, and they also sell pie! I hear their pie is really good, but unfortunately I was not able to try any this trip. I did the "pair it up" and ordered the chicken salad croissant, Caesar salad, and the must have fries. Even though the fries were thicker than I normally prefer, they were really good! The chicken salad croissant was very different as I'd never had chicken salad with what looked to be raisins in it and especially never had it on a croissant! I was surprised at how much I liked the combination and it made for the perfect lunch.
