Hidden gem. Rustic local spot with great food and drink options. Extremely reasonable.

70c wings on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday !

i'm not from around here....but Kokomos makes me feel like a local. I've been spending a lot of time in Sandusky this winter. Not really a bustling town during the winter months. There are a lot of chains and a couple mom and pops' around here, but Kokomos really hit the spot. it is the old club house for a now abandoned golf course (Keys golf course). The vibe is 'your parents' friends who went to hawaii once in 1974 with that cool basement'. It is like a time capsule, and definitely a local hang out. Bamboo, tiki, 70's mashup. and I don't mean in a hipster sense...in a TRUE visceral sense. This bar has great food at great prices, excellent drinks, pool table, keno, tickets, sports tv, a dance floor - it literally has it all. I can't wait to go back. If you're willing to try something new, talk to some locals, and avoid the chains, this is your place!

Place is definitely an out dated hole in the wall. Service was amazing. Not a large variety of non alcoholic beverages. Food was very dry.

A very quaint location. Service was great and so was food. Prime rib was delicious. Has a private club vibe to it.

The host was manager when we visited and we were sat quickly. The server Maddie was polite, friendly, and quick to serve, she had at least 5 tables and was quick on her feet for refills, sauces, and service. We started with the spicy chicken bites. They tasted fresh, had a great crunch, with excellent flavor. If you are a fan of spicy this is on a 2 to 5 scale. You also are served fresh bread made in house with butter. I ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken / half rack of ribs. They have a combo style for ordering and you can swap things if you'd like, for the price it's great to try something new. The chicken was made perfect. I ended up having to finish the ribs at home, once again, perfect. Yes you could get something more "affordable" but for a date night, or you want to enjoy yourself, the quality is there. We made sure to ask for a manager (if they weren't busy!) to let them know they did a great job. I threw him through a loop with, "If I was in prison for 20 years I would want this exact plate coming out". Thanks for being a good sport and keeping up with Longhorn. We will be back !

While it was cooked to my liking (medium) it was dry. I couldn't bring myself to like it due the excessive charring on each bite. The normal ribeye, on the other hand, was nice and juicy and 12 oz (vs the 20 oz outlaw). Some parts were too fatty but overall a nice experience. Sides: sweet potato was nice and sweet. Came with butter which not needed. Broccoli was kid friendly. Shrimp was ok. Banana peppers paired well with shrimp. Actual shrimp was very small. The breading filled a lot of the dish, which i had to take off because it was too much at the end. Nice clean atmosphere. Service was fast and attentive.

This is a super cool public market hall in downtown Sandusky with maybe 15ish (just a guess) local businesses like a bakery, bowling alley, axe throwing game space, ice cream shop and boutiques. This is a cool place to spend an hour or two just browsing and supporting local while grabbing some dessert. The building has some type of history to it which I was unable to readily find online (boo, that is so odd). But the history is paid homage in the design of this space, with old timey photos of Sandusky and Cedar Point blown up on the walls and little stories to accompany them. The design is actually brilliant. It's a cool mixture of old school heritage meets modern rustic vibes. It makes you want to stop and look. The businesses in this building are open during the pandemic, just make sure to check with each business directly before visiting as most of the hours are likely changed. I stopped by here extremely quickly (I do not go out much during the pandemic) to pick up some pre-paid birthday treats from Bake Erie. It has a spacious, accessible parking lot and is just a joy to browse. Check it out for yourself, than continue exploring the surrounding area of local businesses... and Lake Erie :)

If you're craving a juicy burger and/or tasty wings while in Sandusky, Main Street Tavern…read moredefinitely has to be on your list. We came during peak dinner hours and waited ~20 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad. The place isn't too large, and given how good the food is, I can see why there could be a wait. We decided on the jalapeno poppers (June special), onion rings, lemon pepper wings, and two burgers with fries (BBQ ranch jalapeno burger - June special, Hot N' Spicy burger) all to share. Plenty of food for 2 adults and 2 kids to share! We all agreed everything was delicious. The poppers come out super hot, so definitely wait a little to bite into them. Onion rings perfectly cooked and crispy. Wings were plump and had good lemon flavor to them. Both burgers were juicy, but of the two enjoyed the Hot N' Spicy more. Service is friendly and attentive. Parking is available in a small lot directly next to the restaurant or along the street.

She let us know what they were known for (wings and burgers and their rotating specials) and gave my indecisive mind plenty of time to figure out what I wanted. Everything sounded so good! We settled for the golden bbq wings and classic pretzel bites for appetizers. The wings were great and that sauce was delicious! Wish we could find something similar in Seattle. The pretzel bites were good but we were already getting full. He got the Uncle Charlie burger which he liked but said it was a bit messy. He also said the maple sauce on it was unique and a little overpowering. I built my own burger and kept it simple with mayo, lettuce, grilled onions and cheddar. It was really good but I wish I didn't get so full on appetizers so I could finish it. I really liked the pickles that they served as a garnish. A little sweet and spicy action going on. Also the fries are hot and crispy and some of my favorite I've had anywhere. I wish this gem was in Seattle. It seems like a great place to grab a seat at the bar and watch sports on their televisions. They also have some tables available if you want to sit there too. I also liked that one of the tv's showed pictures of their specials. I wish I could go back and try some of their other items. The wraps and sandwiches looked really tasty and I love the uniqueness of some of their combos. If you're in the area and want some delicious food served with a friendly smile, stop in. You won't be disappointed.

The atmosphere was lively and family-friendly, and they had a blast while we were there. It's definitely a spot that keeps kids entertained and makes it a little easier to relax as a parent. I accidentally left my credit card there, and not only did they go out of their way to mail it back to me, they included a cute little Thirsty Pony drink coozie in the envelope. That was such an unexpected and thoughtful touch. Customer service like that really matters. The atmosphere and the way they handled my mistake absolutely left a positive impression. We didn't get any menus when first sat down so our server was scrambling a bit since the host kind of left us hanging. Our server was really great at keeping our cups full and putting in our order quickly. The food came out pretty fast which was really surprising but tasted pretty subpar. You really should come here for the vibes which were fun and lively! There's also a bowling alley, axe throwing, laser tag, at least 3 different sports bars/betting, arcade, AND a food truck outside with yard games. I ordered the cluck cluck burger which has bacon and an egg. The burger patty was pretty dry but it was saved by the egg. It comes on a pretzel bun which I loved! My nephew ordered a ton of apps instead of an entree and got the giant pretzel (cheese came out pretty dry with a hard top), onion rings, and the cheesesteak fries. He liked the fries the best, onion rings were good, but the pretzel was cold. My husband got chicken wings naked with three or so sauces on the side which weren't very good so I'd suggest getting them normally breaded. He also ordered a burger with sweet potatoes fries that were pretty good but his patty was also dry.
