Went here the night before a trip to cedar point from out of town and this place is truly a hidden gem! Old school divey feel with a huge back patio. The bartender in the cutoff Brittney spears shirt was kind, attentive, and serving the whole bar and table seating himself(A+ to ya dude). Was surprised to see it was smoked wing night when we went and let me say they were unbelievable. Came with a homemade garlic buffalo sauce that I'd love to bottle up and bring back to LA. Oh and them cheese curds with hot honey were probs the best I've had in my life. Gotta add the locals sitting at the bar made a couple dudes from out of town feel welcome and like we belonged here. Not the same since the new owners took over ! They have taken the staples of this place and changed them to unrecognizable . Burger day and the way it was done for 30 years made the bar what it was. Now its a cigar bar that has drinks and some food the identity is gone ! Monster in my : Had another amazing meal here at the old Dutch. One of my favorite places now. The half pound burger just keeps getting bigger. It's the best value for burgers in town. New owners never bothered to cone around and welcome us....we were the only customers at the time. On Saturday June 20,2025 came in for lunch with a group over 30 as The Little league tournament was going on this weekend and were welcomed with open arms, (as we were told by the Thirsty Pony the first place we stopped they didn't have the staff to take care of that many people, they had 2 waitress and the manager who was quite rude). They only a had few Patrons at the time, so our group left and went to Old Dutch Tavern. The waitress there had no issue with us having lunch there and they only had 2 Waitress, Alyson and Rylee and they were the best. It took some time for our order, but we were not in a hurry and a lot of money was spent there and these 2 were rewarded handsomely. the food was great and service was excellent under the circumstance. We showed up on a Saturday afternoon with about 20 people and the poor bartender, who was also the server was a bit overwhelmed. The bar area is fairly small, with about 10 tables. In the back there is a pool table and other games. We all ordered drinks and then menus were provided. The menu is basic bar food, with their 1/2 lb sirloin burger being their specialty. I ordered the basic cheeseburger with a side of fries. While we were waiting for our food, we had bowls of popcorn, which is provided. The burgers were served on really small styrofoam plates and they came out hot and were tasty. The fries were decent. This seems like a great place to hang out and prices are low. read more

This is obviously a well-beloved local hangout, precisely the reason why my family and I came in the first place. We were told that the burgers are THE THING to get here, so that's exactly what we did! And the prices were almost funny at how inexpensive it was- 3$ for a 1/4lb burger with as many toppings as you want. They had other options for sandwiches too, like grilled/fried chicken, the Sandusky-famous perch sand which, and Reubens. Honestly, just stick with what you hear and order the burger! It came out on tiny little styrofoam plates- probably to make the burgers looks bigger- and they looked just as good as burger on the menu advertised. The patty was delicious,juicy, and fresh. The fries were ok, and I don't think they're worth the $2.25 extra fee. The onion rings were a hearty size and the onions were sweet. The back of the restaurant had the makings of a very informal/casual family reunion setup: a sand volleyball court, corn hole, and picnic tables, with food catered by the tavern! I enjoy this place. The speciality hamburger ( 8oz ) is soooo good it was voted best hamburger in the are numerous times. I also like their chili as it is spicy but not over powering. All the menu is good Locals stop in after work for a cold one and it is hard not to see a friend. Out back there is a beach volleyball set up. There used to be an eagle's nest in the trees behind the bar. There was a camera set up to watch the little family in the nest. Unfortunately the wind ruined it. Hopefully next spring it will be there again. We need more of the friendly little bars not just Happy Hours at a restaurant. read more

The best burger I have ever had. Period. Thursdays are burger night and it is almost always packed. Thursdays offer the "unique ingredient" option for your burger which have included in the past: stuffed grape leaves, circus peanuts, wasabi peas, and more. My parents took me here when I was literally in diapers back in the 50's. Little has changed inside except they took out the shuffle board. It seemed so big then, but its not, the walls are short, the walls are dark, the bar has 50 coats of varnish on it, and the food is very good along with the people who run it. Im not a bar type person, but the food is good, especially the burgers. KIDS, I wouldn't have a problem taking my kids here for lunch or dinner, the atmosphere isn't like a typical bar, at least not during that time of day, I haven't seen anyone drunk here or rude, just friendly people enjoying a good burger. read more
