Side salad was excellent and we also tried the Bavarian pretzel that came with 3 dips, the fruit dip was the bomb!! This place was very cool. A lot of outdoor seating with plenty of room for things to do. There are a couple bars, a wood fired pizza area, and a regular bar food area with burgers and apps. You order with a qr code, or go up to the bar or pizza area. Reminds me of a really nice college dining hall with the different foods you can choose from. The pizza was very good. Crispy crust with nice flavor from the different sauces. The pizzas were all good. The burger and fries were a hit with the burger sauce. The white pizza had a ton of flavor. It was my favorite one by far. Their beer selections were very good. A lot of different ones to choose from and they even had a cider. The restaurant and brewery sit on a 60-acre farm. If you've ever been to Sierra Nevada's location in Mills River, NC, it is similar in a lot of ways. The grounds are beautiful and there are a variety of places to sit and enjoy a meal or just a couple of drinks. I enjoyed the Legitimate Swells IPA with a fruity hop flavor and light bitterness. They have nearly two dozen taps, so there is definitely something for everyone. Plus they have cider, mead, wines, seltzers, and canned cocktails. For lunch, the pulled pork was just what I needed. Slow-roasted pork, kickin' bourbon BBQ sauce, sweet & spicy pickle slaw, shredded white cheddar, and crunchy onions on an artisan hoagie roll ($16.50 with chips on the side). What's better than being surrounded by boats of all sorts, a majestic great lake and fresh air. As you arrive (out by the Miller's Ferry landing) the brewery sits on a good size parcel of land. There was a man working the large smoker's behind the business. The experience of having lived in KC made me curious about all BBQ techniques so I walked up and engaged him. It turns out that he dies fresh smoked meats daily (note: over fruit wood smoke, pit masters). This very large batch of smoked chicken thighs were destined to be pulled for the weekly feature. Inside, it's spacious and we sat at the bar. All the servers are engaging and great to talk with. Service is top notch with personality! The menu's are precise in their descriptions of both the wide variety of food items and the drink selections. Consider doing as I did when I fell in love with the beer (pictured) and has to leave with extra six packs bound for home in Georgia. If I lived closer I'd move in!!! read more

The setting is incredible. The servers are kind and helpful. The entire set up of seating yourself, ordering via QR code, and paying on your phone is so incredibly efficient. My husband even commented last night "one day they'll write a manual on how to effectively run a business" because it's just THAT good. If the weather cooperates it's a beautiful setting. Multiple outdoor bars are available around a nicely landscaped yard. Inside they have a decent sized seating area as well as a private room available for rent. They have a good selection of beers available and you can get a flight to try out several different varieties. My go-to styles are dry stout and red ale and I wasn't really a fan of either...but their "Legitimate Swells" is an excellent IPA. All four in our party ordered food from a menu with a nice variety and everyone left happy and satisfied with their meals. The wait staff and bartenders are courteous and attentive. While my favorite beer styles missed the mark a little bit, I was able to find a couple of very good alternatives. Perfect for patio season! This would be a go-to if I wanted to meet up for food/drinks in the warmer weather. I had no idea about this brewery until a friend had gone. They only recently opened in 2018! When you arrive, you can seat yourself outside or inside. Each table outside had numbers with QR codes for each the beer and food menu. Not all tables have umbrellas so you may want to consider going inside if it's too hot. The food ordering was all contactless - you order through the toast link that comes up when you scan the QR code. At the time, the toast link on my phone would not let me close out, so I did have to go up to the bar to pay. They were having similar issues with other people as well. You do have to go to the outdoor bar or indoor bar to get your beverages. There were definitely bathrooms inside, and I think I saw some restrooms somewhere on the patio (I could be wrong). Ambiance: 5/5 |Their outdoor space was huge and included space on the lower level grassy part. Perfect for large groups, even if you bring kids to play on the grass. I did not regret coming here, I had so much fun and enjoyed my stay here, I didn't even want to leave. This place is literally a slice of paradise! I've been here twice, once in the summer and now once in the fall. Both were good experiences although definitely different. In the summer there is tons of outdoor seating and lovely views of the property. Plenty of space to spread out and walk around. I came on a week night in November and it was a much quieter experience but still nice. The beer list is extensive. Don't sleep on the nonalcoholic root beer. I had it and almost went back the next day to get it again. So tasty! I've had the pizza (made in a outdoor pizza oven) and the Brussels sprout tacos. Both were really good. Amazing place! This is a must visit when in the area. We came here for a girls birthday night driving over an hour and had a great time. Igloo - we reserved an igloo since it was April and we were unsure of the weather. The igloo was very cute. It had 2 heaters, 8 chairs, several small tables. We had a designated staff member. Her name was Mary Beth and she was amazing! Food - the food was great. We ordered all the appetizers to share. The pretzel, Brussels sprouts and pizza really stood out. We even ordered individual meals - everything from perch tacos to burgers. Everyone enjoyed their food. Drinks - they had a menu of beer, wine and a couple canned beverages. They do not have liquor license so no mixed drinks. They offer about 10 beers on tap and about 15 wine choices. Outdoor seating - lots of outdoor seating areas. I've been wanting to try this brewery since it opened! The only problem is I'm usually on my way to Put in Bay or on my way back after closing when I pass it. So I jumped at the chance to try it out when the weather was gorgeous this past weekend! Upon pulling into the parking lot, I knew it was busy as the lot was full. Because of Covid-19, I am leery about going into crowded areas. However, the brewery had signs to reinforce masks while inside or in line to order beer/food. First, I tried getting a table from the hostess. She explained there wasn't any available tables inside. I asked if I could leave my name for a wait list/reservation. She informed me they don't take names, it's first come, first serve for a table. I asked her if that was the same for outside seating and she said she didn't seat those tables, that they are first come, first serve again. However, she did not explain that the tables were also self serve. So after waiting in line about 20 minutes to get a beer, then hunting a table down outside (literally feels like hunting as there were others stalking tables too and they moved in quick!), I sat at a table for about 15-20 minutes before figuring out I needed to get back in that beer line to order food. This was kind of frustrating not having all the details from the hostess, but now I know how it works for future visits. I ordered a pretzel to share and the Twin Oast burger. After ordering, there are food runners that deliver food to your table. It did take awhile to get our food, approximately 40 minutes. The food was good, though. I liked that the pretzel came with three sauces (Pub Sauce, Beer Cheese, Fruit Dip) and I also asked for mustard when I ordered. I did pay the upcharge to have Belgian fries and their garlic aioli with burger, which was delicious. While waiting for our food, I realized there was a pizza kitchen outside as the wood fired pizza smelled great. Next time, I will try the pizza...again, you need to order inside in the beer/food line. The setting is beautiful at Twin Oast. The waterfall and flowers by the two stone towers outside are definitely the draw here. It creates a wonderful atmosphere for taking in the view and enjoying a few beers. They had an acoustic performer on the patio, but depending on where you sat, it was difficult to hear. There were tables spread out in the lawn beyond the patio area. It looked like a lot of people brought lawn chairs as well. There was a beer truck out in the grassy area for those that sat down there. I could see a large stage area down the hill too, which would be great for large bands. The restrooms outside by the patio area were clean and private. It's possible that the brewery didn't expect a large crowd last weekend, as it seemed like they weren't prepared. It would have more enjoyable if I knew the process of ordering food/getting a table and if they had another beer line outside. Even though masks were required, I didn't care for the long line inside the brewery alongside the dining tables. It really didn't feel right in this Covid environment. Other than that, I will definitely come back in the future as the setting itself is worth the drive. Now that I know the process, my next visit will be a little smoother. read more

All of our food was cold, took over an hour, overpriced, lacking flavor and small portions. First time here last year, Brussels sprouts were a huge portion and excellent. This brewery was my first "going out" COVID experience and it was a great choice. This is one of the most beautiful breweries I've been to. It's worth going to just for the environment. Two stone oak towers rise over a large outdoor patio, the hill overlooking a gardened waterfall and expansive lawn. Between the stone towers, the flowers and the waterfall, the brewery created a lovely space to enjoy being in public and outside. We stayed into the evening, and the lite patio was equally enjoyable. They also had a band, my only annoyance was that they were inside, which made no sense to me. The patio tables are spaced with a note on the table asking for arrangements to be maintained. There is a second outdoor bar in at the bottom of the hill. There are several tables as well as plenty of lawn space. The brewery is a bit remote and surrounded by trees. There also appeared to be a path but we did not have time to check it out. We only came for drinks, and I can not speak for the beer, but thought the wine offerings were good. I would be interesting in returning and checking out the menu, the pizza and other items that passed by our table looked great. Come for the atmosphere! read more

So to start I had their Old Ohio Pale Ale it was just how a pale ale should be pale a bit dry not to hoppy and just right to hit the spot after that you know it was all about the Eriesponsiable as why not it sounded right and was with just the right amount of hops to it! So with these yummy brews came a walkabout outside and into the area that this brewery sits on and let me tell you it's none to short other than amazing the view out into the meadowlands that they have from the rock waterfall to that mini pond below to the stage to the right of the brewery to the huge circle Oast towers that have seating as well as one with a fire pit to keep you perfect on those chili Ohio nights! If the scenery with a delicious beer wasn't enough to set this brewery over the top they are turning out some delicious food in a few variations first up I had the Twin Oast burger it was on a pretzel bun with a good amount of toppings and some serious delicious flavors to make it just perfect especially paired with those yummy fresh fries! The next time around it was all about the mini bratwursts that are soaked in the Old Ohio Pale Ale to make them just that much better these brats were covered with sauerkraut and some mustard to make them just perfect and super delicious to pair with one of these already yummy beers! It's another good brewery around here. Twin Oast is another hidden gem. With all the breweries around here it can get overlooked. A large variety of beer. You can also order food at the window. I like the Vivod. It's a cool sounding name. This is a bit tart. It comes with a cherry syrup added to embolden the flavors. This is a little sour so if you don't like that kind of beer get another one. Beers are usually about $5 a pint. They have a happy hour where it's a dollar off so you get a good deal there. It also sells a small amount of food. They have an order window. It has a few salads. The Vivod goes good with the salad with peach Champaign vinaigrette. It's about $3 for a side portion. This is good for a small easy salad. It's another place to go. So many good breweries here. You can find some interesting beer tastes. read more

In comparison to other "outdoor" brewpubs (like Southern Tier), we thought the beer and food was average at best. Service was quick once we ordered from our table, although it would be nice if they provided individual plates...paper plates would do. Kind of tough to share an order of nachos with no utensils or plates. My only other comment concerns the restrooms. With all the help they seemed to have, someone should be assigned to keep the bathrooms at least moderately clean. Pretty awful. We see no reason to go back. read more

The gem of Catawba Island. I'm devastated I don't live closer or I would be here all the time. This unique brewery is located on a 60-acre family farm that you have to see to believe. We just passed through to buy beer to-go, but the sheer environment of Twin Oast is overwhelmingly interesting in the best way possible. If you're just dropping by like we did, make sure you walk around the main restaurant to see the back of Twin Oast. We didn't drink or eat anything on-site but we did walk the property. Outside you'll find a gorgeous, multi-level oasis complete with a perfectly landscaped waterfall and picnic tables nearby to enjoy. Different castle-like structures sit outside to provide private outdoor seating. You can place your drink and food order inside or visit one of the "taps" or pizza ovens outside. It's a super interesting model for a brewery. In the distance, I noticed a stage. I think they do regular programming including concerts, which would be really enchanting in this environment. Twin Oast would be such a magical place to picnic with its lush acreage and rolling scenery. The restaurant's food is typical bar fare, with burgers and pizza. Can't wait to come back after the pandemic and really stay a while. Just go, you'll love it. read more
