I was really looking forward to it. But honestly it was awful. Zero blackberry taste. Very disappointed. They have a decent amount of choices I just seemed to choose wrong. They even have a mead. But I got the shandy and just did not like it. They did also have a cider on tape. That's what I should have ordered. They had a wedding on premises. Big tent and it looked sweet. They also had a band playing that evening. Not sure how that would compete with the wedding reception. Lots of people inside and out. Inside has lots of table seating. Outside does as well. Twin Oast is probably one of the most beautiful properties I've ever been to. When you arrive, you're close to the lake with green trees and fields everywhere. As you enter, it seems like more of a farm. They have ample free parking and overflow parking so that's never going to be an issue. As you approach the main building, they have signs about the different outdoor areas and whether they're open or closed based on the weather or events. If you explore the grounds, you'll find concert areas, forested areas, fields, places to play games and be outside. The large patio area also has more bars and an event space. Plus the namesake twin oasts outside that serve as fire pit relaxation areas to drink as well. We went inside, which was also super busy for a weekday. There are lots of campgrounds and other lodgings nearby, so it seems like a regional hangout. We each got flights at the bar, all the bartenders were friendly and efficient, even with the constant flow of customers. The beer quality is solid and prices are reasonable. They have a merchandise area near the restrooms. Indoor has bar seating, tables, and cozier living room like areas with big open windows to enjoy the outside on cold or wet days. If you're a beer fan in the area, this is a must-visit. Even if you just like nice places to eat and enjoy nature, this is also for you. read more

You order with a qr code, or go up to the bar or pizza area. Reminds me of a really nice college dining hall with the different foods you can choose from. The pizza was very good. Crispy crust with nice flavor from the different sauces. The pizzas were all good. The burger and fries were a hit with the burger sauce. The white pizza had a ton of flavor. Received a tip from a vendor in town to download their app to get a free pepperoni pizza (thanks!) and it was very tasty! I'm not much for craft beer, but I tried the Old Ohio Blonde Ale and it was perfect. (I'm more of a Bud or Busch Lite kind of gal). Side salad was excellent and we also tried the Bavarian pretzel that came with 3 dips, the fruit dip was the bomb!! If you find yourself in northern Ohio you must check out Twin Oast Brewing in Port Clinton. As their website states, Twin Oast is above all things, an experience. The restaurant and brewery sit on a 60-acre farm. If you've ever been to Sierra Nevada's location in Mills River, NC, it is similar in a lot of ways. The grounds are beautiful and there are a variety of places to sit and enjoy a meal or just a couple of drinks. I enjoyed the Legitimate Swells IPA with a fruity hop flavor and light bitterness. They have nearly two dozen taps, so there is definitely something for everyone. Plus they have cider, mead, wines, seltzers, and canned cocktails. For lunch, the pulled pork was just what I needed. Slow-roasted pork, kickin' bourbon BBQ sauce, sweet & spicy pickle slaw, shredded white cheddar, and crunchy onions on an artisan hoagie roll ($16.50 with chips on the side). What's better than being surrounded by boats of all sorts, a majestic great lake and fresh air. As you arrive (out by the Miller's Ferry landing) the brewery sits on a good size parcel of land. There was a man working the large smoker's behind the business. The experience of having lived in KC made me curious about all BBQ techniques so I walked up and engaged him. It turns out that he dies fresh smoked meats daily (note: over fruit wood smoke, pit masters). This very large batch of smoked chicken thighs were destined to be pulled for the weekly feature. Inside, it's spacious and we sat at the bar. All the servers are engaging and great to talk with. Service is top notch with personality! The menu's are precise in their descriptions of both the wide variety of food items and the drink selections. Consider doing as I did when I fell in love with the beer (pictured) and has to leave with extra six packs bound for home in Georgia. If I lived closer I'd move in!!! read more

Ordered the pretzel and wings for an appetizer. The wings were amazing (ordered hot) and had great flavor. We spend several weekends a summer at Lakeside and this was our 2nd year finding Twin Oast. It is the only restaurant that we make it an absolute point to go to every visit, and twice if we're here for a whole week. The beer selection is amazing. The food is fantastic. The setting is incredible. The servers are kind and helpful. The entire set up of seating yourself, ordering via QR code, and paying on your phone is so incredibly efficient. My husband even commented last night "one day they'll write a manual on how to effectively run a business" because it's just THAT good. Perfect for patio season! This would be a go-to if I wanted to meet up for food/drinks in the warmer weather. I had no idea about this brewery until a friend had gone. They only recently opened in 2018! When you arrive, you can seat yourself outside or inside. Each table outside had numbers with QR codes for each the beer and food menu. Not all tables have umbrellas so you may want to consider going inside if it's too hot. The food ordering was all contactless - you order through the toast link that comes up when you scan the QR code. At the time, the toast link on my phone would not let me close out, so I did have to go up to the bar to pay. They were having similar issues with other people as well. You do have to go to the outdoor bar or indoor bar to get your beverages. There were definitely bathrooms inside, and I think I saw some restrooms somewhere on the patio (I could be wrong). Ambiance: 5/5 |Their outdoor space was huge and included space on the lower level grassy part. Perfect for large groups, even if you bring kids to play on the grass. They have a covered patio area that was hosting a wedding ceremony when we were there! They have music playing outdoors on speakers, which I enjoyed. Beer: 3/5 | I wasn't too impressed by the flight we got, but I'd keep an open mind to come back to try others. If the weather cooperates it's a beautiful setting. Multiple outdoor bars are available around a nicely landscaped yard. Inside they have a decent sized seating area as well as a private room available for rent. They have a good selection of beers available and you can get a flight to try out several different varieties. My go-to styles are dry stout and red ale and I wasn't really a fan of either...but their "Legitimate Swells" is an excellent IPA. All four in our party ordered food from a menu with a nice variety and everyone left happy and satisfied with their meals. The wait staff and bartenders are courteous and attentive. While my favorite beer styles missed the mark a little bit, I was able to find a couple of very good alternatives. They got bar seats, family seating, seating by the beautiful pond, seating by the fireplace and even a picnic bench far off in the corner for the anti socialite! The food here is phenomenal, I love their menu service and how it's all app based. The servers here are really nice. The only thing that you can't get off the menu is alcohol beverages. I've been here twice, once in the summer and now once in the fall. Both were good experiences although definitely different. In the summer there is tons of outdoor seating and lovely views of the property. Plenty of space to spread out and walk around. I came on a week night in November and it was a much quieter experience but still nice. The beer list is extensive. Don't sleep on the nonalcoholic root beer. I had it and almost went back the next day to get it again. So tasty! I've had the pizza (made in a outdoor pizza oven) and the Brussels sprout tacos. Both were really good. Just wow. I'm sad that I live an hour+ away. It's definitely a hike to get too, but well worth the drive. This place had just opened and we were were 7 minutes late and it already had a full parking lot. The flowers, the garden, the building, the atmosphere. It's just wow when driving in and walking up. We could spend hours here admiring the beauty of it all. The beer was good. I can't and won't list them all. But I opted for an IPA and the wife Kolsch. We had a simple Funghi pizza. Which oddly you have to order from quick grabs place vs using their online order option. That was really the only issue I saw. Other than why don't they have umbrellas for people on top patio area. Igloo - we reserved an igloo since it was April and we were unsure of the weather. The igloo was very cute. It had 2 heaters, 8 chairs, several small tables. We had a designated staff member. Her name was Mary Beth and she was amazing! Food - the food was great. We ordered all the appetizers to share. The pretzel, Brussels sprouts and pizza really stood out. We even ordered individual meals - everything from perch tacos to burgers. Everyone enjoyed their food. Drinks - they had a menu of beer, wine and a couple canned beverages. They do not have liquor license so no mixed drinks. They offer about 10 beers on tap and about 15 wine choices. Outdoor seating - lots of outdoor seating areas. I've been wanting to try this brewery since it opened! The only problem is I'm usually on my way to Put in Bay or on my way back after closing when I pass it. So I jumped at the chance to try it out when the weather was gorgeous this past weekend! Upon pulling into the parking lot, I knew it was busy as the lot was full. Because of Covid-19, I am leery about going into crowded areas. However, the brewery had signs to reinforce masks while inside or in line to order beer/food. First, I tried getting a table from the hostess. She explained there wasn't any available tables inside. I asked if I could leave my name for a wait list/reservation. She informed me they don't take names, it's first come, first serve for a table. I asked her if that was the same for outside seating and she said she didn't seat those tables, that they are first come, first serve again. However, she did not explain that the tables were also self serve. So after waiting in line about 20 minutes to get a beer, then hunting a table down outside (literally feels like hunting as there were others stalking tables too and they moved in quick!), I sat at a table for about 15-20 minutes before figuring out I needed to get back in that beer line to order food. This was kind of frustrating not having all the details from the hostess, but now I know how it works for future visits. I ordered a pretzel to share and the Twin Oast burger. After ordering, there are food runners that deliver food to your table. It did take awhile to get our food, approximately 40 minutes. The food was good, though. I liked that the pretzel came with three sauces (Pub Sauce, Beer Cheese, Fruit Dip) and I also asked for mustard when I ordered. I did pay the upcharge to have Belgian fries and their garlic aioli with burger, which was delicious. While waiting for our food, I realized there was a pizza kitchen outside as the wood fired pizza smelled great. Next time, I will try the pizza...again, you need to order inside in the beer/food line. The setting is beautiful at Twin Oast. The waterfall and flowers by the two stone towers outside are definitely the draw here. It creates a wonderful atmosphere for taking in the view and enjoying a few beers. They had an acoustic performer on the patio, but depending on where you sat, it was difficult to hear. There were tables spread out in the lawn beyond the patio area. It looked like a lot of people brought lawn chairs as well. There was a beer truck out in the grassy area for those that sat down there. I could see a large stage area down the hill too, which would be great for large bands. The restrooms outside by the patio area were clean and private. It's possible that the brewery didn't expect a large crowd last weekend, as it seemed like they weren't prepared. It would have more enjoyable if I knew the process of ordering food/getting a table and if they had another beer line outside. Even though masks were required, I didn't care for the long line inside the brewery alongside the dining tables. It really didn't feel right in this Covid environment. Other than that, I will definitely come back in the future as the setting itself is worth the drive. Now that I know the process, my next visit will be a little smoother. read more

Great landscaping, food has gone way downhill. 2nd time here with 3 friend, one of whom was his 3rd time eating here. All of our food was cold, took over an hour, overpriced, lacking flavor and small portions. First time here last year, Brussels sprouts were a huge portion and excellent. We all agreed today they were a 3rd the size, undercooked and cold. My $14 brisket tacos were cold, small , tough, and the tortillas were stale and stiff. My friend said his burger was cold and underwhelming. The self service ordering system is quick and convenient, but no one comes back to check on you.
