A beautiful awesome day amazing people of the world. Today we are at the Small City Tap House in Sandusky, Ohio. A fusion joint that combines Asian and American cuisine. We're here due to a recommendation so let's get the food review started shall we. First up is the Meatball Banh Mi. The soup was tomato based, it was mid. Then I built myself a banhmi with a meatball and the pickled veg. It didn't hit, but not bad either 6.7/10 The Grilled Lemongrass Beef on the other hand was wonderful. All that wonderful viet forward flavor that I adore is present on the meat. Wrap all that up together with the picked veg and I am in my happy place. 8.9/10 The place is pretty nice with that industrial historic feel. The service is on point and the beverages were refreshing. If you're ever in Sandusky, do give this place a go at it and lemme know what you think. If you like discovering new places to smash, hit that follow button. Share this review with a smash mode buddy and thank you so much for reading along. I love you.

Stopped by for lunch, and was glad we did. The sushi was fresh and delicious! The soup was very tasty.

This place is EXACTLY what we needed after a long two days at Cedar Park Drinks, sushi, apps, curry - what else do you need?! We stumbled upon this place after searching on Yelp and the reviews were so fantastic that we needed to give it a try! The space is ample and so spacious. Tons of big screens and bar seating if that's your vibe. They also have a taproom upstairs AND downstairs, so their drink list is EXTENSIVE. Our server, Trent, was awesome. So warm and very friendly. He gave us suggestions and got our orders out immediately. He kept tabs on us but wasn't overbearing. We enjoyed his service very much. Now to the food!! My kids shared the combo pho (full of brisket, meatballs, and steak) and it was very tasty. My daughter said the broth was delicious. My husband had the curry with rice, and it was pretty typical. I had the "big ass roll" (that's the actual name ) and it was HUGE but DELICIOUS. I don't like spicy food but this had just the right amount of kick to it. My dad had the caramelized catfish that came out in this cool clay bowl. I didn't get any pics but suffice it to say that it was INCREDIBLE. He ate every last bite. We will definitely hit this place up again next time we're in town. I low key wish I was local so I could visit more often. This place is a gem.

Good food, good drink selection, and a good location?! Small city is a great place to go. They have a ton of great Vietnamese food options. They also have really good sushi and have some specials during the off season. It's a tap house, so you should be able to find something you like to drink. They offer the tap beers in multiple sizes so you can kind of build your own flight. We love that it's in the heart of downtown Sandusky. The city is very walkable and there's a parking garage close by. The only downside is sometimes they get super busy, so you have to be patient with the service during those times.

The food here is great. We were looking for something on the lighter side here in Sandusky and Small City was perfect. We started with the pork spring rolls and they were some of the best I have ever eaten anywhere. We then shared a Small City roll which was good, though the sandwich style it was served was less than optimal. We ended the meal with their Phô and it was spot on. Extremely flavorful and full of noodles, beef and vegetables. They also have a stellar bourbon selection at very good prices. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was the service. It took them almost 10 minutes to great us. Once we had a server she was excellent. If I am in Sandusky again, I will 100% eat here.

We were just looking for something small and Small City Taphouse had some sushi so Taphouse is was. The building itself was very industrial and unique. I loved it! Our waitress was high energy and nice. Our sushi was pretty good as well. Overall, a good stop.

I Love you with my Sushi Roll ($15)

Open, airy space with plenty of seating, absolutely amazing food (Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese), and a wide variety of drinks (meads, beers, sours, wines, etc). Drinks: -Strawrhubarb Puff Tart ($3 for a small) - this was absolutely delicious, like a fruity alcoholic smoothie. Strong alcohol taste though. Drinks are served in such fun glasses! Food: -Lemongrass Beef Lettuce Wraps ($11) - fragrant and so yummy! -I love you with my Sushi Roll ($15) - wonderfully crafted, perfect crab to rice ratio, delicious Kind staff, always appreciate when they itemize large parties :)

Really cool gem in Sandusky. The amount of beers they had on tap was astounding. Food was great, and so was the service. We'll be back.

Everything was clean and looked nice. Staff were very friendly and they chatted with us and made recommendations. The proprietor was there and was a riot. (He's the guy on their fun beer labels). When we first arrived my friend spotted an old beer he loves on the top shelf. He asked the owner if it was for sale. Soon my buddy had a bottle of Lizard of Koz by Founders. Great service. The beer and food were great. They seem to specialize in New England IPAs (juicy and hoppy but not bitter) as they have so many on the menu. They also had stouts and porters. What a great tap list. I don't want to leave out the great food. I had a beef Pho and my friend had the TNT roll. Both great and flavorful. A big thumbs up. A place not to miss if going to Cedar Point.

Once seated our waitress was very attentive getting drinks and taking orders. They brought out the mushroom soup and she even brought ice cubes for the kids to cool down their soup. The next course is the ginger salad. After the starting course the chef comes over to cook on the main grill for the hibachi experience. The cooking is enjoyable to watch and they make it fun for the table with interactions. The food overall was good. They give you great portion sizes. I felt like they put too much sauce on the meat, rice and vegetables. It felt like a sodium overload and I didn't even really want to use the side sauces since everything was already overloaded.

Do yourself a favor and take a detour from route 250 and dine at this family owned I dependent restaurant. Everyone is friendly from the Owner to the Sushi Chef to the servers even the behind the scenes staff. Their menu will please any diet from meat eater to vegan and from carb lover to gluten free. The sushi chefs are not pretentious and this would be a great place to try sushi fir the first time and ask questions if you're not familiar. Joe is one of the Chefs and he very patiently answered several of my ingredient questions. . While the outdoor dining is preferable, my visit in today showed some off season deals for the holidays. Not sure how they are doing deals like that but I'm all about it. A sincere thank you to the owner for investing in downtown Sandusky and for offering a diverse menu which is not easily found here.

I started with the Tuna Tataki, and it completely surprised me -- in the best way. Having ordered this dish at other restaurants, I wasn't expecting such a set up. It was a bright, vibrant, and flavor-packed version. The Phoenix Roll followed, and it was another good choice. Bursting with spice and layered flavors, it's a great pick for anyone who enjoys a little heat. For our main course, we all went with General Tso's Chicken.
