The chef was very entertaining and did a great job keeping the boys engaged the whole time. They loved watching the cooking and all the tricks at the table. The food was really good and exactly what you would expect from a hibachi-style restaurant. Everything came out hot and tasted great. Overall, it was a fun family experience, and we're glad we went. Fun experience! We made reservations and arrived on time. The entrance was a bit chaotic with people waiting for tables and other people picking up carry out. Once seated our waitress was very attentive getting drinks and taking orders. They brought out the mushroom soup and she even brought ice cubes for the kids to cool down their soup. The next course is the ginger salad. After the starting course the chef comes over to cook on the main grill for the hibachi experience. The cooking is enjoyable to watch and they make it fun for the table with interactions. The food overall was good. They give you great portion sizes. I felt like they put too much sauce on the meat, rice and vegetables. Never thought I'd find such quality sushi in Sandusky! This review is for my takeout sushi order (ordered online on the website)! I got the Spicy Maki Combo Dinner ($20.95) with California Roll, Spicy Tuna, and Spicy Salmon. It was delicious and fresh and the fish to rice ratio was perfect. I love the addition of tempura crunchies to the rolls too - I've never tried spicy tuna or salmon rolls with them in there! I had a taste for seafood but nothing within 20 miles of my hotel so I settled for hibachi. I ordered the shrimp and scallop dinner (mushroom soup, salad, hibachi vegetables and rice) The menu didn't indicate that the meat and veggies would be covered in a teriyaki sauce. I really wish it was listed because I don't like a lot of sauce on any of my food. The sauce was ok but really took away from my meal. The scallops were cooked surprisingly well but again I couldn't really taste them because there was so much sauce. The shrimp were over cooked and the rice was bland. Everyone let's gather around the grill laugh have a few drinks and eat some delicious goodness that's sometimes tossed at you to catch just like you do to the dog! Teppan is something that warms my heart as it's always a good time with friends and family as well as some random awesome stranger that comes to be your friend for the time being wile they cook that feast your about to eat! Coming here was just one of those random nights of let's go do this as I was highly motivated by the promise of some hot sake and needless to say that was what fueled me throughout the meal as you can't ever go wrong with some of that hot delicious rice wine goodness! Now let's get to the food!! For me it's all about the teriyaki steak as that's usually my go to at places like this and let's just say it surely didn't disappoint as it was cooked right in front of me perfectly with just the right amount of sauce to set it all right the way it should be! As if that was not enough before the main course came some of that yummy mushroom soup that had a few mushroom flakes as well as some crispy onions floating around in it making for a soupy yummy time! Along with the soup we were served a salad with ginger dressing that just hit the spot especially after a few bottles of sake as by this time I was already starting to feel the flavor of that but when mixed with that salad ginger goodness it was just what was right! So after more hot sake it was time to enjoy the main course a huge plate of that fried rice, teriyaki beef, grilled veggies, noodles, and some shrimp to make for the perfect meal all around. Like I said before the steak was cooked perfectly the veggies were the same perfect and yummy along with that fried rice just awesome at every bite but don't forget about the shrimp them too were awesome and just added that much more to an already yummy plate of delicious goodness! Something here that I haven't seen at a teppan place before was what they call yum yum sauce which is basically an Asian type of Mayo ranch concoction that's a bit funky a bit sweet and totally scrumptious in every way! This was a nice surprise because it's been a wile since I've had it and I had almost forgot how much more zest this sauce adds to something that's already amazing in every way! Now what about the show? The show is where it's at when you come to places like this as it can either make or break your time but let me assure you the show here was definitely up there with the best of the ones I've had as our chef killed it with the jokes and the pyrotechnics with everything from the classic onion volcano to going around the table squirting sake into the mouth of who wanted it with a countdown of who could go the longest with me getting up to about five seconds then spilling some of it out onto me like how can you go wrong with this? That was something I've never seen any other place do before and it was just a fun bit of chaos to an already awesome meal and cooking show! Our service was awesome our food was delicious the show rocked the sake senses and everything was just awesome so much so that I'll be counting the days until I come back! Just a delightful meal. The food was good the ginger salad was my favorite! The soup was a bit fishy, but that's kind of normal for miso. The steak was perfectly cooked, scallops were not rubbery, and the fried rice with chicken was not dry or over cooked. I think my only real 'complaint' was that everything was a little blah. I went here recently for the first time -- I thought it was OK. I've only been to one another Hibachi place before, but that was maybe 8 years ago but I remember it being delicious, so I was expecting this to be good as well. I went with the Hibachi Chicken with rice, yum yum sauce, the mushroom soap, and salad with ranch. The chicken tasted pretty good, but it seemed a bit too hard and chewy. Chicken is hit or miss sometimes. I'm wondering if the steak would've been better? After all, it is a steakhouse, so that's basically my fault for not ordering what they specialize in. I would likely come back here again and try something new, though and give it another shot. read more

When I lived in Ohio, I visited this location a number of times. Since then, not much has changed. The interior and service remained unchanged. Our server that evening was excellent. She was energetic and engaging. The Ninja Turtle Drinks were fantastic. I recommend giving them a shot. This time, we did not sit at the grill, which is okay if you have previously enjoyed that experience. I think I would go 3 1/2 if that was an option. Not my favorite spot for Hibachi, but not too bad either. I wouldn't make plans to go back, but if friends were headed there and we were invited, I wouldn't decline. The show was good. The cook was personable and talented. The hostess and waitress were attentive and pleasant. The ambiance is nice, there is a main restaurant area and a bar. The looks on the outside are deceiving. It's located in a strip and if you just drive by, you might think it is more of a bar. The bathroom was not clean at all. The food is pretty standard for a Japanese steakhouse. I had the chicken, it was solid, but not spectacular. My wife had the steak and shrimp; she wasn't a big fan. But when I ate the leftovers for lunch the next day, I saw no issue. The young kids did not really like the mini corn dogs; they were overcooked. The teenager enjoyed his hibachi chicken. Overall, a fun family night out! read more

We stopped at the Steak house because we were looking for something other than the common places to stop and eat and we were from out of town. With a party 8 we wanted something we could have a good experience. The steakhouse was busy when we first got there but we called and made reservations which helped but it also seemed like it was homecoming weekend so there were a lot of high schoolers. No biggee. We waited at the and had some exotic drinks and the girls all had Shirley Temples. Samurai made sure we had a great time for my daughters birthday! We started with the dumplings, crab wontons, and a California roll. They all looked and tasted great! We all ordered hibachi, and it was so much food. From steak, chicken, shrimp, it was all prepared perfectly! The shrimp was some of the best I've had and were from FL, where we have fresh shrimp often. The ambiance was great, our kids loved the colored lights, they are a great touch. The only complaint is it noted gratuity would be added for parties of a certain amount of people with X amount of adults, and our party did not meet those specifications. I searched on yelp and found Samurai. Not only did they see me at 10 minutes before close, but continued to make sure that I was satisfied and sated. Offering to make more sushi for me even after having closed, and handing me a strong cup of hot tea to go for my long trip home. If you are near Sandusky, or passing by, stop here. I live in a pretty small town in MI, a group of six and I went to Cedar Point for the day. After a very long, very hot day we were exhausted and decided to grab some Japanese before the long haul back to MI. However, my experience was tainted by a nasty little glob of grey hair (about .5 in by .5) that ended up in my hibachi chicken (in the restaurant section). Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until it was in my mouth grinding between my teeth. I would rather have just not paid for the meal but they only offered a new one and I still had to pay full price. I was just really disappointed with my experience. *The waitress was super nice and very helpful. I would upload a picture of the glob but the manager swiped it up really fast when he found out. I also just want to note that this was probably a 'one time' occurrence, however I think my voice should be heard and my experience should be on the record.* read more

I would say pretty standard hibachi. Cook was excellent and fun. Expect to catch chunks of zucchini in your mouth that they toss at you and if you're of age maybe even some sake squirted in your mouth like at high pressure by the chef. Truly some of the worst sushi I have ever had. I'm not sure when the rolls we ordered were made, but they were hard, dense and over-refrigerated. I've had much better sushi from a grocery store deli case. I want to be clear that it wasn't about the fish. It was about the horrible rice, the fairly tasteless "spicy" dishes and how far in advance they must be making rolls. There was supposed to be "crunch" on top of one of our rolls...it was mashed into the top like a mushy mess. On the bright side, the tempura we ordered was yummy. Had been recommended this place by a couple of friends and the husband and I decided to give them a go and boy were we glad we did! Whoever is working in the kitchen has got some TALENT, the poke bowl was the best I have ever tasted (loved how the crab was shredded, so fresh), the potato rolls were a perfect consistency and my scallop hibachi was also a shining star, the scallops melted in my mouth.
