My wife and I were in Port Clinton at an Airbnb, celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. We had scoped out all of the restaurants in the area (online) for dining on the lake. Most were more like gastropubs. We desired something a little more upscale. We decided on Bay Harbor. We had no idea it was IN Cedar Point. I got mildly frustrated but a parking attendant assured us that we would be comped for the parking cost so I settled down some. We had reservations by the outside railing to view the sunset during dinner. The sunset is obscured by trees so that wasn't amazing but the weather was perfect so it wasn't too much of an issue. We're generally indecisive people when it comes to the food. It all sounded appetizing so my wife asked our server about her favorite dishes. Through that conversation and the discussions that followed, we got to know our server a little bit. We shared with her how we met (working together in a restaurant). Her husband also works at Bay Harbor. We shared stories about our spouses that were humorous and we got to know one another a little bit more. Cassie became very personable during these conversations and it really made our night a little more enjoyable! She was the sweetest server! The food was great! The Bang bang shrimp appetizer was delicious. I had a red snapper that was the special for the evening. It was very good. My wife wanted to try the lobster bisque. I understand why it's award winning! My bride of 27 years had the shrimp and scallop linguini. I tasted it. It was pretty tasty. Attempted a meal at Bay Harbor last night with a large group, and the experience was exceptionally subpar. Our servers and trainee were polite, but the bar drinks and food were inexcusable for a pricey dinner service. Gordon Ramsay would've been screaming. 1) Everything took forever to come out. It was 2 hours from being seated to being served entrees. We had a large group (18), but the restaurant was not busy at the time we were eating, with only a handful of other tables occupied. Our servers claimed that the bartender and kitchen staff were both new, but I have no way to verify that. 2) My wife and I ordered the vegetarian dishes, which turned out to both be completely absurd. $40 for "Mushroom Risotto" that had either been cooked without any sauce whatsoever or thoroughly mummified under a heat lamp while the other dishes were being prepared. It was crispy! Risotto is, by every acceptable measure, not crispy. The veggie burger was somehow more depressing, but was edible - in the same way that Soylent is food. A pale, dry, flavorless rice patty, with lettuce and a slice of tomato, on a decidedly *not* Brioche bun. Just use an Impossible burger or Beyond burger, at least those are expensive enough to justify the cost of the dish! 3) My bar drinks, both Lemon Drops (as listed on the menu!) came in different styles of glasses and were very different pours. The 4 kids at our tables that ordered Shirley Temples received what could be charitably called "a variety of recipes" with some having cherries, some not, and immediately sparking arguments between them. Overall, the service could not save what turned out to be a disappointment for our entire extended family. Flee, and do not return. read more

Definitely a 3 Star experience at 4 Star prices. I took my parents here for dinner while I was in town. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and the stuffed mushroom appetizers. My parents ordered the Prime Rib for $54 each. They were very generous cuts of meat but unfortunately not the most tender or flavorful. I ordered the Blackened Grouper and it was good but for $50 the portion size was a little small. The restaurant itself is very dated, 80's or 90's at best. Time for a refresh. Wow! I "stopped by" on my way from Cleveland to Detroit. It had been many years since I had been to Cedar Point. The last time was with kids and at the Amusement Park. Today was alone, on a business trip and for food only. My server was named Abby and I asked her for recommendations. She suggested Blackened Grouper Oscar for the main dish and Scallops on a bed of Risotto for an appetizer. Both dishes were served piping hot, fresh and paired outstanding together - as well as expertly prepared. The bread (rolls) were accompanied with sweet cream butter and an olive oil, Parmesan infused butter. These were tasty spreads alongside the nice, warm bread. For dessert, I asked for the in house prepared items as a choice. I settled on Crème Brulee. I highly recommend a visit. The restaurant has friendly hours, hospitality in spades and excellent food choices, per my experience. It is a comfortable, up scale and pleasant dining destination. Enjoy! read more

1. This is technically on cedar point amusement park grounds. You will be forced to pay for parking. We were told it was comped with our food. Parking was 38. Comp was only 30. 2. This is a dated , overpriced, amusement park restaurant. The price we paid for absolutely mediocre steak and seafood was as much as I have spent at some of the better steakhouses in St. Louis and Kansas City. I ordered the seafood pasta, my seafood was overcooked and the sauce was scorched. 3. Do not be fooled into thinking this is a standalone restaurant in sandusky for a nice sit down dinner. I made the family put on business causual only to find half the people eating had come from the theme park and were in shorts and tank tops. 4. The one positive was the service was good; our waitress was attentive and the bartender gave us decent pours with the drinks we ordered. read more

We were out at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio for a little vacation and stopped in at the Bay Harbor restaurant for a fancy-ish dinner one night. The Bay Harbor has been here for years and represents Cedar Point's lux dining option... another offering in their range of dining options to keep you on the property ... and you can just use the free shuttle bus from your on-site hotel to get here ... nice. The restaurant offers absolutely beautiful views of the marina outside, and the inside is very nicely appointed. As their their upscale dining option, they check all the right boxes for ambiance and food/wine selections. Service was very nice also, with the waitstaff very attentive to each table, yet not hurried. Food wise we thought the selections were nicely curated, as were the wine selections. While some of the other reviews made mention of the price points ... the prices were really in line with fancy-ish restaurants in other cities. Yes, it is pricey ... figure about $75 per person, all-in. Two at our table had the Broiled Salmon (nice piece of fish, but a smallish portion), one had the Prime Rib (nice meat, but a lot of peppercorn on it), another had the Grouper Oscar, and the last had the Ceasar Salad/Lobster Bisque (yes, that is how they spell Caesar on the bill). All-in-all 3 to 4 stars for the food, the main complaint being portion size. The Bay Harbor is a nice change from the fast-food offered at most of the other restaurants on the property. You can dine inside or on the patio ... nice choices both. Once again, nice atmosphere and food. read more

Our waitress was the best. She really made our experience here with the kids a great one! The food was great and I was worried since the reviews weren't great on here. The only thing is don't get the steak. They don't cook it to the right temperature and it's on the bland side. But everything else we got was great. The mac n cheese the burgers even the salad was awesome! The drinks are good and the location is right inside castaway bay where we stayed after a day at cedar point! It's very convenient and not bad for what it is! There is plenty of space inside. I appreciated our booth seating to be able to have private conversations. So again if you're staying at castaway bay and want a spot to eat I recommend going here. It is easily accessible and the food choices are broad! read more

Food was alright, but double the price of anywhere else where you could get the same food. (We compared what we got to another weekend when we went to bonefish grill and the meal was half the price, even with ordering more drinks). The server rarely came to our table- I ended up having to go find her in order to get napkins, pepper and bread. We were seated outside next to a table with a family who brought their standard poodle with them, (not on a leash) which kept coming over to our table to sniff our food. Yes, it's cedar point prices, but you'd think if you're paying a $300+ tab, you could get a server that checks on you every once in a while and doesn't serve a cold lobster bisque. Ambience is fun, especially with the roller coasters going by- I think that's really what you're paying for here. read more

I'm got here a little early at 4:15. Staff seems a bit distracted and don't want to be there or maybe it's my fault for being in sweats after a long day of work. I diid meet a fellow friendly couple there so it was completely stressful at 4:15. I think the place brings amazing anniversaries in. Once I got the bartender talking she was enjoyable and fun. She recommend the lobster bisque. It was very good. Hot and full of meat. Next I ordered the short ribs with scallops to come with the meal. Short ribs were a bit dry so thankful for the glaze that came with it. Very tender though! Vegetables were good but no seasoning on it. Despite my little comments I ate everything in a heartbeat. I don't leave reviews often but this was one of my worst dinning experiences so I wanted to warn everyone else. We sat down and waited for water for what seemed a little long but we were dinning at a popular time so not too worried at this point. We then ordered drinks and an appetizer and waited 20 minutes which should have been our clue to get out but we stuck it out and ordered food. We then waited an HOUR for food. If the food was good it would have made us happy at that point but it wasn't. Half the table reported that their food was cold with another that theirs was no good. We then spoke to the manager (Chris) who offered us 20% off our bill which didn't seem that great but it was better than nothing . The manager then swiped our card for the largest bill in the dining room (almost $500) and played it off like it wasn't a big deal. Needless to say I would not return to this place and I would be sure to double check your bill if you do. read more

It's hard to make it feel worth it to navigate the whole theme park entrance situation for a restaurant but it IS a really good restaurant. Service was exemplary; I was especially grateful that we showed up about forty-five minutes ahead of our reservation time - we planned to spend more time outside first and got hailstormed on, whoops - and they were very nice about it and were able to seat us immediately. It was a little louder than I prefer, and I wished it had more view of the water, but the general Beachy Vibe was there. Food: Adored the cheesy stuffed mushrooms thing, which went beautifully with the bread and butter, and the seafood risotto was a beautiful example of its kind. (My husband liked his food too but I genuinely do not remember what he ordered because I was busy having an excellent scallops experience, haha.) Did not order dessert as I was entirely too full of seafood but several of the things sounded nice. Drinks: I didn't enjoy the sour-mix blue thing, but probably personal taste, I think it did the thing it was going for well and I just didn't turn out to want the thing it was going for. Eh, it's alright. For the price you pay you'd expect the food to be great. View was gorgeous. The food tastes like you're in an amusement park but like they're trying to hide the fact that you are. My partner ordered the filet mignon medium rare and it was very well done, like grey colored well done. He sent it back and they did send out the correct temperature steak after waiting another 20 minutes. Bread was not yummy. Stuffed mushrooms were delicious. I had great shrimp and sausage New Orleans Style with Alfredo Sauce over pasta. My husband said he had a great steak and he felt like he was back in the 80's. He wasn't wrong. Our waitress was fantastic. We were part of a larger group of eight, mostly couples and everyone had really good service. Including the two young girls who halfway through their Caesar Salads, Shrimp cocktail and Escargot got up to enjoy the boats and view of the harbor. The adults in our group enjoyed French martinis , beer and wine. We stayed for the desert. It felt good to step back in time and when we emerged from the restaurant to see Cedar Point's twinkling lights; it was almost as delightful as the marina view we had seen throughout our dinner. We had dinner there last night. Atmosphere was nice. Wish it would have been lighter outside to see the view. My filet was very good and cooked perfectly. Our first time dining at Bay Harbor! Absolutely beautiful atmosphere and we were seated at a window seat overlooking the ships. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We tried the crab cakes and calamari for appetizers. The crab cakes were just ok to me.I've had better they had colored bell peppers in it that gave it a slight sweeter taste than I cared for. The calamari was pretty good. I tried the blue Boston cod with mashed potatoes and asparagus with a chili tai sauce i would rate it a 2.5/5 it could have used a tad bit more seasoning My other family tried the steak and he liked it and stated a 4/5 and my son had the shrimp and scallop pesto pasta and my son said it was 5/5 he ate every drop. I topped my meal off with a glass of moscato which was reasonable 10 dollars for a 9oz glass. Overall the experience was nice and worth giving me it a try. read more

I went here once years ago and enjoyed it, and talked Sweetie into going back. Glad I did. We were at CP for a conference, and after walking around the park at the end of the day, decided on this. It's a bit fancy for Cedar Point, but not enough to be off-putting if you're casually dressed and a bit worn out after a day there. It's right on the water, and the view is fantastic. Also, we got there just before sunset, so it was even better. Service was impeccable. Amy was friendly and helpful. She pointed us in the right direction on the menu, when we told her what we were interested in. We started with soups, French onion and creamed asparagus. Both were excellent. There was a bread tray with regular butter and olive-infused butter. Sweetie got a salmon fillet with roasted vegetables, and mushroom risotto swapped in for the normal wild rice. She enjoyed everything; I didn't try it. I had the fried perch, fresh (as it darn well better be,) and with potato wedges and cole slaw. It wasn't as good as eating what my friends caught, and relaxing on the patio with them, but it was right up there. We passed on dessert since we were full. We did have beer and wine with the meal; not a huge list, but enough for some good options. The price was fairly high (or would have been if not for some gift cards that brought it way down.) But then, you're paying for convenience and atmosphere too, which almost made it worth it. And given the other food options at CP, this is definitely the star. read more

This happened in September 2023. The restaurant was wonderful...it is the general manager that is the problem. I forgot my credit card there and called to confirm they had it before I drove back to get it on another day. The mgr on duty said yes, they have it and put it aside for me to pick up. When I went there to pick it up a few days later the general mgr was very rude to me. She had shredded it because she didn't know who it belonged to. Instead of apologizing to me or doing something to make it right she stood there and yelled at the other mgr about not putting a note on it. I told her I drove an hour there just to pick it up and she didn't even respond. While she was yelling at the other mgr I just turned around and walked out. All she needed to do was to say I am sorry, but instead made it everyone else's fault. Even though I love the restaurant, I will not go there again as long as she is running it. read more

Second visit to BH. First visit was better. Portions seemed to be drastically reduced, seems to be a current trend though we're finding. Waiter was very friendly and provided good service. A lovely view compliments a very very good meal. No "for an amusement park" consideration here. My salad was exactly as I requested (sad there were no anchovies for the Ceasar, but the dressing was good). The French Onion soup was a true delight. My steak tasted better than it looked on the plate. Cooked to perfection, it was tender and juicy. The dessert cart had a lot of outsourced stuff on it... but the carrot cake was spot on and the coffee wasn't burnt. The best restaurant at Cedar point by a looooong shot. We stopped in while visiting Cedar Point. The restaurant is cozy and aged. The food was excellent. Jaz, our server was a doll. We asked for recommendations for the meal and she did not disappoint. We started with escargot and lobster bisque. For our entrees we had the blackened grouper and the shrimp & scallop linguine. The grouper was so good, the shrimp and scallop were cooked to perfection. Nested along the western shore of the Cedar Point Pennisula, this quiet seafood house has some of the best Lake Perch this side of Lake Erie. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the shitake mushroom topping added an exotic flare known only to some Western US culinary connoisseurs. Bay Harbor likes to surprise its patrons with some unique made-in-house items like their lemon vinaigrette house salad dressing. It added a tartness to the salads ending on some sweet notes. A full bar compliments your meal with a top shelf selection of single malt scotch. By far the the Prime Rib carving station and Alaskan King Crab leaves the guest going back for more. If you're lucky they can turn on the grand piano while you watch the boats go by. read more

Our large group made a reservation at Bay Harbor to celebrate a birthday, it's one of the only restaurants on the Cedar Point inlet, so they don't have to impress to get people to visit. I was disappointed with the food and service. Our party had a pre-fixed menu to help the kitchen since it was such a large group. We were presented with a plethora of appetizers: jumbo shrimp, crab cakes, bruschetta and scallops, none of which were particularly spectacular to me. For a main course, I ordered the seafood risotto, which in addition to coming out cold, also included clumpy risotto. The flavor was very flat. I tried several other dishes that night in addition to bites of three different desserts (carrot cake and both chocolate options). It's not often that I leave a meal feeling so very unimpressed, but Bay Harbor left me feeling that exact way. read more
