Nice place to eat Italian and Italian inspired food in Port Clinton. One of the few places that isn't other a diner or touristy.

We came here looking to carb load before the ironman 70.3. The establishment itself is very nice. Great vibes and plenty of parking. Also a lot of cool little shops around and we can't forget the fisg outside in the water. They're huge and you can feed them. Big hit with the kids. Now for the food. Everyone at my table enjoyed what they got. The eggplant was really good. The red sauce is fantastic. It comes with an Alfredo sauced spaghetti, which was different but still good to say the least. The table bread with dipping oil was amazing as well. The meatballs were very flavorful and very filling. Not pictured were the mushroom truffle raviolis. Amazing. Also the Bruchetta was very good. The service was good. They were quick to refill drinks and bread. We will definitely make our way back here when in the area. read more

We were greeted fast and with professionalism by Reese. To our pleasant surprise Reese was also our server. His attentiveness and enthusiasm were very infectious. We wanted for nothing ever. Our drinks were refilled before we even finished them. Reese gave us the time to enjoy our appetizer which made the entire timing and experience of the meal exceptional. The portabella ravioli was amazing! The sangria flight exceptional. Don't forget to order the goat cheese with naan WOW! I highly recommend Ciao Bella for a true dining experience. Atmosphere inside is unique and classy. This location even has an adorable outside dining venue. Your restaurant is lucky to have an exceptional employee like Reese. A large group had a reservation so restaurant was well aware of the number they would be serving. We waited well over 1 hour before getting our food. A couple of us requested our house salad to only have romaine as the spring mix used can be bitter, also no shaved carrot and no canned red pepper. We requested cucumber and cherry tomatoes instead. Simple request right? Salads each had 1 slice of cucumber, cut in half, 2 cherry tomatoes, cut in half. Here is the kicker...we were each charged $2.00 extra for the cucumber and cherry tomatoes while another person at the table got the same thing, but instead had the regular house salad, which wasn't eatable' due to the overload of salad dressing!! We dined a few times at Ciao Bella last year and had a great experience...being charged the extra $2.00...don't think we will return. read more

Although it is slightly better than Olive Garden BEWARE of the hidden fees and poor use of the English language. They advertise a CASH discount but there is none. If you pay full price they consider it a discount.... makes no sense but there is a 3% fee if you use a credit card which you do not know until the end. Nothing to write home about. Our waitress was very attentive,but the food left something to be desired, especially for the price. My husband got the chicken Marsala and he said it wasn't a typical Marsala sauce. I got the eggplant parm, which was fine, but the Alfredo sauce it was served with was bland and didn't taste homemade. read more

I made reservations via Resy, that was easy, but why does it ask for additional info or information, when the host person doesn't even read the reservation... anyways my wife had a Gluten allergy, yes you have options, but don't bring bread to the table... I mean just ask... I ate all the bread and kept the crumbs away, no big deal... my steak was amazing, the butter and Herb Ribeye"medium" came out "medium rare" and I had to wait for a steak knife... so did my daughter she got the filet, my wife enjoyed her scallops and my youngest got a pizza, it was a statue day night and it was busy, and the server brought us plenty of water, which was attentive, it was all good, and the server was very responsible to make sure I received my payment card back, because I left it in the check book... so thanks. Exploring the Marblehead peninsula on a random Sunday afternoon with my sweetie, we decided to try something different for lunch. After searching on Yelp and discussing our options, we quickly settled on Ciao Bella on the Lakeside end of Port Clinton. Arriving at the large parking lot, I was super glad there were multiple signs pointing us toward the central building by the lake, as we otherwise would have spent entirely too long searching for the restaurant amongst all the buildings. Being 1pm on a Sunday during winter, the hostess gave us our choice of tables in the dark but otherwise nearly empty dining room, so we picked one with a lakefront view. In short order Reece, our attentive waiter, brought us waters and took our order for a Calabrese pizza ($17) on a gluten-free cauliflower crust. After a surprisingly short wait, our pizza arrived, and it was delicious! The cauliflower crust was not over-baked (as often happens with gluten-free crusts), and the capicola was -just like the menu said- pleasantly spicy. We both found the salami and sausage to be very good, and the addition of fresh cut basil liberally sprinkled across the top of the pizza completed the package. We found Reece to be very friendly and approachable, and he did a great job checking on us and bringing us an extra carafe of water. PROS: very attentive staff, excellent food CONS: we had no complaints of issues during our visit. Overall we found Diao Bella to be Very Good, and look forward to returning! read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Ohio and our "go-to" in Port Clinton. I've reviewed it twice before over the years - always stellar. As always, the food was fabulous and the servers are without peer. Wednesday is 1/2 wine night! This was our official celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. We got a luscious complimentary desert (best cannoli ever) and a card signed by the entire team (tears) and an anonymous patron paid our check. How amazing! Hubby and I ate here in spring 2024 and it was amazing. The service was very good and food excellent. We were in the area just recently with family and sadly, our experience was just not as before. We went on a very busy evening and our server had been there for almost 11 hours straight. She was polite, helpful, but forgot a couple of things...understandable. We shared the goat cheese appetizer; it was the best thing we had that night. Entrees took FOREVER to come out. A person ordered the clams/linguine and it was very dry, so was sent back. I'm not sure the second try was really any better, but it was getting late and he didn't feel like trying for a third time. I had the shrimp dish with shrimp coated in Panko and served with capellini. It also was dry, shrimp had too much breading and were also overcooked. My hubby and I were very disappointed as we had informed our dining companions that food is excellent and everyone was looking forward to a nice meal.....oh well, maybe a bad day for the kitchen??? We spent the day at Cedar Point and were ready for some authentic Italian Food. The whole family was famished from the day at the park, and the restaurant was first-class from seating us expeditiously to the fantastic service. The food was amazing and there was a lot of it too, from their homemade bread to the sultry appetizers, we went home very satisfied and full. The teens even complimented the portion size and great taste. Prices were very fair, and the atmosphere was magical making this a very memorable experience. Your site says it's not open until 4. However, during the season it's open for lunch. The food is Italian as the name denotes. We had a lunch combo. My husband had the lasagna and soup(sausage and white bean). It was awesome. I had the portable mushroom ravioli and the same soup. Amazing. This is fast becoming one of our favorites places. The vibe and feel of this restaurant outside in the midsummer heat is charming. The seats outside are situated right next to the crystal blue lake, where expectant fish serve as some entertainment for the children of the party. The service was very good, the waitress was kind, attentive, and quick to fill requests. We did have a long wait time, over 45 minutes from putting our order in to delivery. The sangria flight was great! I personally loved all the flavors and we got comments on how colorful it was! The steak was a little salty for my liking and did not taste very fresh but was good nonetheless. The Cesar salad and house salads were both excellent, I would recommend them! The bolognese was a little disappointing. It felt really really watered down, which sucks because the sauce was actually very flavorful! The kids pepperoni pizza got a thumbs up / 10 from the kid, so take that as you will :) Overall, I think this is a cute spot that would be great for a date night, family outing, or friends get together. Oh my! This lovely find was both delicious and a fun view! I got seated with not much of a wait and opted outside. The table was along side the pond on the deck that surrounds the shopping plaza. Looking down I could see a lot of coy fish jumping up! Just across the pond or people feeding them from a little dispenser. The tables were spaced appropriately apart and all of the staff wore masks. I observed them cleaning tables between customers. I ordered bacon wrapped dates and they were spectacular! The maple balsamic glaze was perfect. The portion of the appetizer was large and could have fed somebody for dinner. The filet mignon was pricey but easily the best steak I've ever had! Very tender. I have been coming here since they first opened. Was known for quality food, service and pricing. Imagine my surprise when I brought my 3 sisters for a special meal. They served us unfiltered, tap water that none of us could drink. When we asked to order drinks instead, due to the horrible tasting water, our waitress confirmed what we said about the water and then said she could bring distilled water or we could pay $7 for bottled water, but we had to ask for it. Not a good way to cut expenses! The night became progressively worse with over salted entrees, under cooked pasta and weak lemon sauce on the chicken picatta. I now know why there were five tables empty at a 6:30 seating. It was never like this in the past. Shame on you for cutting corners. I won't be back. read more

Delicious food! We stopped by for dinner and sat at the bar. I had 2 of the most amazing blueberry mojitos ever!!! It's was refreshing and delicious!!! The hot bread served while waiting for dinner was amazing, and it came with herb oil for dipping. I ordered the meatball lasagna. It was delicious but a tad bit salty, but that didn't keep me from devouring it. My boyfriend ordered the veal parmesan, which he loved!! We ordered a chocolate cake to go, and it came with a side of strawberries, whipped cream, and strawberries sauce that was all packaged separately. When we got home, the cake was warm and absolutely delicious. The best part of our dinner was the 3 amazing and happy people working the bar. Their energy and upbeat personality were amazing as well! My Mom got the chicken Alfredo and I got the regular one . I pulled us over for my drink flight but from now on I will be ordering mocktails. So entering the restaurant we had 3 unprofessional hosts checking us in and when stating we had no reservations they repeated themselves like a flock of geese quacking themselves too misery 4 times they all repeated "no reservations no reservation". The Main host Handing the menus too the other host laughed and handed them off too the next unlucky worker who actually had too work and not stand there like a dead fish . We sat down as she very aggressively took the other plates and glasses off the table clinking them all together like a tambourine, this food was over priced for the taste number one here. So I ate the bland food that taste like it came out of a school lunch cafeteria room or maybe a soup kitchen. I ate two bites of the pasta and than a slice of pizza and it was time too go, I ended up getting true enough (E.Coli). I threw up for days and let's say it was like a rush of the Niagara ever 30 minutes from my ace. I will be contacting the health department and establishing a quality check in the next few months. This place is messed up and should be taken down too the gravel it lays on... asap!! read more

This restaurant was very good. First we started with the bread that was wonderful especially the focaccia bread. It was the best I ever had in a restaurant. The Caesar salad was delicious and I got the house salad , also yummy. 2 at our table got the lobster al forno and it was creamy, cheesy and delicious. I got the chicken parm with the side of spaghetti, also satisfying. And the Chicken Marsala was also wonderful and my table mate said she enjoyed it. Our waitress Taylor was very attentive and met all our requests. We would go back again. The general manager stopped by our table to see if we were happy. The mgmt & staff really try hard to offer excellent cuisine and progressive options. They mostly succeed. Quick hostess seated us in a comfortable yet fine dining room with fresh linens. Service was exactly as you'd expect at the 2 to 4 o'clock slow times. Server wasn't up on our admittedly picky questions but was glad to go ask. Here they have new menu items every 2 weeks creating new experiences and lots of choices. Many GF options. Port Clinton area seems to be a foodie desert! We tried at no less than 5 places for fresh walleye. Three! of them, though they billed themselves as seafood places, didn't even source fresh fish. It all came in frozen & breaded and they only offered deepfat fried fish! Two were closed but their info on line said they were open. Anywhere else this kitchen's output might not be as outstanding, but here a bit remote, on Lake Erie, it is "Ffff-ing" amazing. read more
