    The dining room
    Andy N.

Came here for brunch after a gig. The restaurant is in a former Burger King. The dining room is really nice and was clean when I was there (see above), but they need to either renovate the sunroom behind it or remove it entirely. The menu is pretty eclectic... bowls, pastries, oatmeal, yogurt, etc. Good for lunch and dinner. I got a steak/egg bowl. The steak had an interesting Siracha-esque flavor. I would've personally preferred just salt and pepper. I also got a coffee and a donut (which was served hot and ready, just like Krispy Kreme!). The employee behind the counter was very friendly and served with a smile!

    Chicken bowl

1st time- place is clean and well maintained and decorated. Worker is pleasant and friendly and helpful. Good size "bowl" for the price. Chicken bowl is big enough for 2 meals for most people. It has breakfast sandwiches and smoothies which I didn't know. I will be back and you should try it if you're in Vermilion.

I'm glad Bowl Thyme opened up in Vermillion. It's set up in a "Chipotle like" fashion in terms of ordering your bowls; except they have a lot more options/variety than Chipotle. I went with the create your own bowl. My bowl was pretty basic: rice, chicken, corn salsa, cheese and an Asian ginger sauce. Pro tip- get the sauce on the side or ask for light sauce. To their credit, they asked if I wanted it on top of the bowl or on the side. I chose on top. It was good, but it overwhelmed the rest of the dish. In addition to the basic bowl items, you can choose things like: pasta, linguine, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, shrimp, pulled pork, and lots of other things... plus 16 different sauces. I would also recommend the southwest chicken bites. Those were good! If you are thirsty, don't order a small drink: their smalls are like kid sizes or shot glasses. LOL. The restaurant itself was very clean and comfortable. They even have a couch that you can choose to sit in. I stopped by on my own for lunch and I look forward to bringing the whole family in the near future.

This is the Feb special. It shows it on a plate, but it comes in a cary out container with a plastic fork.

Four of us visited this restaurant for the first time last week and had the ***February Special*** Surf & Turf 24.99 * 8 oz snow crab cluster * 4 oz seared Sirloin steak * Crispy parmesan herb potatoes * Seasoned green beans * Garlic herb butter * 1pc garlic bread I must say the food was delicious. I am a seasoned snow crab eater with no utensils. However, my friends had trouble navigating the crab, armed only with a plastic fork. It was disappointing too to eat such good food from a plastic container. If I had to do this again, I would do carryout and take it home where I could give it the plate and silverware it deserved. Now, having said all that this is a rice bowl place and the prices are right and food is good, but in my defense it was my first time there. This restaurant is quite new (some customers told us over a year) and in an updated old burger-king building. The staff were very pleasant and asked all the appropriate questions about the meal. We told them we would bring our own fork when we come back. They took our comments very well. Open 7 days a week. 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. Dine in, call ahead carryout, drive-thru 440.963.0093 4855 Liberty Avenue Vermilion Oh 44089

Amazing customer service ! They were very helpful and welcoming. Food is also amazing. Very fresh and filling. Definitely recommend. Also very nice and clean on the inside

The smallest portion of the worst steak I ever eaten

we ordered online , had to go in to get the food bc nobody answered through the drive thru and then they were rude about having to put our food in the bag even though it said our order was ready for pick up.. I ordered the steak meals and it was hands down the worst steak I've ever had ... even the texture was terrible .. I will never buy from there again

Bowl Thyme used to be 3Bs a few weeks ago & closed to revamp their menu & decor. After a bunch of glowing reviews on Facebook, we decided to give the new menu a try. The food isn't bad at all, but there's still the same problem of getting what you pay for. The portion sizes are still small for the amount of money you spend. I got a large chicken berry salad, asked for extra dressing, and got no dressing at all. It took a while at the drive thru to get our order (which is understandable), but the girl running the register @ the window did not know how to alter orders apparently. I sat at the window for an extra 5 minutes waiting for her to take my money while our food sat on the other side of the glass :-( I don't think the food is the problem with this place as much as the execution and bang for your buck. Let's see if they make it to summer :-(

Very good! Bowls are huge with A LOT of flavor. We had the sweet and spicy pork bowl and the fiesta chicken bowl and they were both so good!

Horrible. The food looked bad, dry, salty, over cooked. The food looked worse than 80's T. V dinner.

As a Pescetarian in Northeast Ohio I have meaning to try Jolly Roger Seafood House for a while,…read morewell I finally got there and the big question is why I waited so long. Jolly Roger is located in Port Clinton right on Lake Erie; I was expecting something ordinary or just a bit dated and boy was I wrong. The building is very modern and clean from the outside, white and angular with big windows. Inside white walls, rough hewn wooden tables and just the right amount of decor makes for a modern seaside feel, casual but also classy. The setup is fast casual, you order and pay up front at the counter, get a number for your table and then get your own drink at the service station. The menu is understandably very heavy on fish and seafood with a couple of other items. While there are the expected fried fish meals, but also oysters, shrimp and salmon, salads and even some tacos. The reason I came was of course for the fried fish, I decided on the Perch and Chips, which is $18. I grabbed some water, hot sauce and lemon and settled onto a table. The meal was brought out fresh and hot by a food runner in a couple of minutes. The meal was 4 nice sized perch fillets on top of a generous portion of fresh waffle fried potatoes with a side of tarter sauce. The fish were excellent, fresh and perfectly fried with a nice crispy cornmeal crust around the delicately fish; moist with a slight sweetness and perfect texture. The waffle fries were exceptional, fried to a crisp outside and tasty inside; usually fries at a seafood place are an afterthought, here they actually are well worth getting and eating. Even the tarter sauce was very nice, nothing special but creamy with a nice pickle contrast to add a little extra flavor. Usually when I see a place that has been around this long and has great reviews I am a bit let down when I give them a try; Jolly Rogers Seafood House exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Although set up as a fast casual restaurant with a typical fried seafood menu, the actual restaurant feels more upscale and modern with a great inside and a very nice patio looking out onto Lake Erie. The food is not cutting edge, but it is expertly prepared and delicious. Prices are moderate with large portions for your money. Some of the best fried perch and waffle fries I have had. I will be back any time I am in the area, a very high recommendation as long as you are looking for fish or seafood, go and enjoy.

Really, really good food! The Perch was some of the best I've ever had. Mushrooms were great too…read more The only knock I have is the waffle fries were like warm. I LOVE waffle fries, but they have to be hot. It was also nice to see they had a selection of beers. Food came out fast. I would not hesitate to return.

And those Malibu buckets. What a blast. I actually made it my mission to try every single flavor you had on offer, and they were all fantastic and so much fun. I loved the relaxed vibe of the whole setup. It's super convenient how you just pop over to the outside window to place your order, and then grab your delicious food right by the bar. But the absolute best part was kicking back at one of your outdoor tables, right by the lake. It's such a perfect, serene setting to just unwind and enjoy the beautiful views. Honestly, your entire team really made the visit special everyone was so incredibly friendly and welcoming, which just added to the wonderful experience.

This was our first trip to the Sandusky area and this place rated highly on here…read more We didn't realize until we arrived that this is essentially a glorified concession stand in a marina and not a "restaurant." Think snack bar at the roller rink or high school football game. Granted the menu is far from a snack bar and I do give them credit for aiming high with some pretty aspirational dishes. While other reviews suggest table service, that was not our experience. You ordered at the counter, given a pager, and fetched your food when the devices beeped incessantly. You buss your own table too. My wife ordered the lobster roll, which was rather competitively priced. Unfortunately, it was primarily filled with lettuce and tomatoes, with an OK amount lobster meat. She didn't care for the celery and green onion mixed in, not traditional lobster roll ingredients. I had the perch tacos, a first for me. Again, novel idea but lacking on execution. A few thin fish strips in each taco were more breading than fish. My wife couldn't have more than one sip of her cocktail and my IPA was warm. Anything waterside will have a natural appeal but the furniture and seating area is nothing more than a sidewalk. $61 for a serve yourself concession stand experience is more fitting for a stadium or sports arena.
