Backbeat Que BBQ has a good variety of smoked meats and classic sides. From sliced steak, rotisserie chicken, breaded tenders, to sides like cornbread, mac & cheese, seasoned fries, veggies, etc. There was a lot to choose from but overall quality was okay. i've consistently gone to backbeatque for the past 4 years now for cedar point. i've pushed past the overpricing via meal pass and i've always gotten pulled pork, mac and cheese, and cornbread. my trip on august 3rd was the worst meal i've ever had and i seriously regret tipping or spending any money at all. the pulled pork tasted like straight wine, which was really strange. don't care how you're preparing the food but the flavor should not be just alcohol. So weird. Thought i was going mad so i had all my friends try it and we all agreed. my mac and cheese was okay, friends was super dry somehow?? i don't know. service is fine, they're in a rush. it's loud in there and they can't do anything about that and it's fine. but please work on that pork if this is a new recipe or something..... it's my first time here this year and this messed up my day :( read more

We have enjoyed the pulled pork and rotessarie chicken here. The beef/steak is cooked longer than our preference but it is a clean protein. There are also chicken tenders (3) as an option. The sides are fries, cooked greens, baked beans, mac and cheese and salads (chef, side and fruit). Cornbread...if i could buy extra pieces I would. The mac and cheese is good. We enjoy the beans and greens on a good day but the seasoning has been inconsistent. Outdoor dining, food served cafeteria style. A solid choice. read more

This was not my first place I wanted to eat, but my child wanted to get the limited Halloween item, so we ended up here instead. She got the candy apple pulled pork, which she really enjoyed. It was good, it did have a fun candy apple taste, so she was happy. As for myself, I got the brisket, which was a tiny potion and very fatty. I also had the mac and cheese, which was super cold and very mediocre. The corn bread was fine. The prices were super high for a tiny amount of food. The chicken tenders where actually the best thing here, so crunchy and a nice flavor, which I had chosen that instead. The other star of the show was the honey mustard, which was just from a huge vat, some name brand, not sure, but apparently did not need refrigeration? Still, the brisket was very tasty with it. Wow, this was the most highly rated place here per boards. Schlep of a line, dirty tables, service without a smile. I got the mac and brisket - machine and cheese was watery with little no cheese taste, brisket was pure gristle- thanks chicken who seems to purposely grab the super gross ones! For overpriced amusement park food, this is about as good as you get. The brisket was nice and juicy and the mac n cheese and beans were delicious. The cornbread was nice and moist. I was disappointed that they didn't offer two- or three-meat combos. They wouldn't even let me pay for an additional meat. The area when you first walk into the restaurant where you order and get your food was inviting. The place was clean which is always a plus in an amusement park. All the choices of food looked amazing. But I will say I was disappointed when I looked at the menu and there was no one, two, or three meat option. It was one meat, once side, corn bread that was it. My boyfriend and I split the brisket, Mac and cheese. The brisket was good, Mac and cheese was ok and the corn bread was really well done just wish it would have been a little warmer and I had some butter. Ambiance and marketing hype is not everything. Visually, everything looked amazing, but you would be quickly disappointed and maybe even upset. For theme park food this was pretty good! We had the all day dining pass but if I had paid the full $20 for the meal it wouldn't have been worth it. We chose the brisket and mac & cheese. Super scrumptious BBQ at a park yes it's totally a thing and you can find it here as they are turning it out just the way you want it sliced to order right in front of you that is if you choose to go with that yummy brisket like I did! Of the few BBQ choices I totally had to go with the brisket as it just looked super good and once I had them slicing it right in front of me I knew I made the right choice as I could see just how tender and juicy it really was even before I took the first bite once I started to eat it I was blown away by how good it was the meat was cooked perfectly and just fell apart as well as melted in your mouth. For my side I had to go with the Mac and cheese as it's usually my go to at a Q place and here was no exception as it was delicious super flavorful and rich so much so it almost tasted of a Alfredo Parmesan which was just delicious! The cornbread was just the way it should be perfect not to sweet and not the bit salty it was just a great addition to this yummy barbecue! They also had 3 different types of sauce spicy, mustard, and Backbeat all of which I definitely enjoyed with my meal as each one was good and different from the other. Of the theme parks I've been to and had BBQ at this is definitely the best one as they are turning out some delicious Q here for all to enjoy it's with that I'll be looking forward to my next visit here to try everything else because I'm sure it's just as good! They accept Dinning Pass here too so definitely don't overlook this as one of your meals as it's totally worth it in a barbecue type of way! We would normally never do a review for food in an amusement park, but BackBeat Que really deserves some special mention for the militant regime that they are running here. First of all, $22 for three chicken nuggets, one side, and a piece of cornbread. For the BBQ platter, we asked if we could have half pulled park and half burnt ends and the woman, was all, like, yeah, sure, but we will just charge you $17 more as an extra portion (even though it would still be HALF AND HALF). Just: WHAT??? Listen, as Texans, we're embarrassed to have eaten here, but we were prisoners in "Camp Snoopy", which is a world away from the rest of the park, so we had no choice. We have to say that we were expecting the food to taste horrible, and it actually wasn't bad. Don't get us wrong: you'd probably get arrested trying to serve those items in Texas, but the cornbread was fluffy, and the burnt ends at least had a few well-cooked pieces even though the sauce was way too sweet. The nuggets were crispy on the outside and seemed to contain real meat, but the best dish was the side of corn, which had a nice smoky flavoring and some appreciated acidity. Here's the kicker: when we asked for some to-go lids, they didn't have any! Just: WHY??? Also, there were no forks at the utensils station. For theme park food, I was extremely impressed! The portions were big, so my husband and I split the brisket platter, that was tasty and cooked to perfection! Decided to stop here as our last stop before leaving the park. No seating inside but adequate seating outdoors. My family and I all got the brisket. The food was honestly tasty but the portion size for the price is very skimpy. I don't eat large portions at all but this portion was very small almost like a snack. The platter was more like a snack size meal to me. Maybe if it came with 2 sides i would even be satisfied with paying $18.99 per meal. When I inquired about an extra side of a half piece of corn on the Cobb they said $6.49 all I could do was laugh. I think it's definitely worth a try but prepare to eat again in a few hours. The proteins are basically very good. Except for the brisket. Dunno why they can't seem to figure that out yet, but hopefully they will. Dry, dry, dry, dry and flavorless. Ugh. Other than that, the sides are very tasty and seem to be reasonably fresh. The thing I like the best is the smoked Pecan Pie. I thought it would be less good, but it is one of the best Pecan Pies I have ever had. Ever. This food is sooooooo good! The service is quick, as it's a subway type setup. It's only outdoor seating, plus your next to Gemini so it's pretty loud. Where do I start? Cedar Point is an awesome and fun theme park. Now the restaurants always get me for my money. We decided to try a new spot this year and this place did not fail us. The portions were small but what do expect from a restaurant in cedar point. I got the hand breaded shrimp and it was amazinggggg! Seasoned good and breaded good. After seeing all the positive reviews I began to wonder why we received bad service, uneatable BBQ Brisket that was charred and burned. My wife and I had dinner at about 4pm and was served by an employee name Summer and she must of been having a bad day because when we purchased our BBQ Brisket and Pork platters that were burndt and uneatable; we went back to the serving line and spoke to Summer and was told "You get what you pay for - what do you expect" she did allow us to exchange for a chicken leg and wing each but her attitude was for the birds. We paid over $30.00 for (2) meals and was surprise we were treated so poorly. My wife who is handicap and uses a knee scooter also asked for assistance in helping carry our trays outside but was redirected to do it ourselves and was reminded that BackBeat Que BBQ Smokehouse is strictly carryout and not sit in and not to expect table service - no exceptions!!! read more

My family and I ate here last night. We should have walked out. Way overpriced for what you get. I got a few slivers of very thin brisket and over cooked corn. Only one side comes with the meal. The food was just okay, nothing special. It looked like a kid's meal on the tray. And, interestingly, this place does not have kid's meals! Put it this way l've had better barbecue que, Go to famous daves or the barbecue joint further down in frontier. The chicken was super dry like 0 flavor and no smoke flavor and the brisket has almost no flavor and was super cold. Only thing worth eating was the sides. The corn bread was awesome and the mac n cheese. The corn could have used just a little butter to add flavoring to as it was bland but still tasted good. I created a Yelp account specifically to review this poor excuse of a BBQ place. Although this place is located inside Cedar Point, it does not excuse the tiny portion sizes for the exorbitant price. I paid $17 for a tiny bit of brisket (that the worker weighed on a scale to make sure it wasn't too much), a tiny cornbread muffin, and a small cup of Mac n cheese. Did I mention the small portion sizes? Of course you may be thinking, for $17 it has to be delicious right? Unfortunately that was not the case and it was mediocre at best. The brisket was dry and needed to be drowned in bbq sauce and the mac n cheese was kinda bland. Cornbread was ok but not sure how you could mess that up. The only thing good was the free drink that came with my Cedar Point admission wristband. I feel sorry for all the workers who have to deal with the angry or dissatisfied customers due to the clear penny pinching, corner cutting methods from the owner(s). My friends and I will not be returning (nor will I be recommending this place), as there are plenty of better food options within the park that will actually fill you up for less money.
