Kinda pricey, but that should be expected from a resort buffet. Was happy they had prime rib as a breakfast selection & the smoothies were decent as they weren't overly sweet. Still would recommend if you're staying at Kalahari for at least one morning if staying multiple days.

Worst buffet I have ever been to. I'll start off by saying all food was cold, only ham and chicken nuggets for meat selections, the desserts tasted like pure chemicals like bug spray! My husband and I paid $50 plus tip for inedible food and a wobbly 8 top table. The only good thing in the whole place was the Coke but then again you can barely mess up a coke. Waiter seemed unenthusiastic and said that we should have went elsewhere. Assumed we were with a convention of non tippers and treated us as such. We went based of reviews and now highly regret our decision. Overpriced, disgusting, and in need of a overhaul.

Gahh, I am in love and I don't care who knows it!!! Man is this a good buffet! We drove all the way from Cedar Point to eat here. Here is the scoop, we were at Cedar Point, my old work place so I felt sick the whole time anyways, but anyhoo we were going to eat at the Midway Market but I decided to try something different and go the whole day in the park then go here. Important point to make though is that the restaurant is open based on occupancy at the hotel. So we had to call and the phone line is super confusing so have patients and it is option three that will get you to an operator who will give you answers. The entrance to the resort is right by the restaurant as long as you enter across the bridge or at the valet. You do not have to be a guest at the hotel as we were not. You have to walk though a gift shop but it is simple to find. The front cashier was super friendly and after paying $21 you get seated. The restaurant was relatively empty which is a surprise. The food is exceptional, very very good. I mean that, it was not the typical mass produced slop but each were in a skillet or pan; making me think that they were each cooked with care and individuality. The pot roast was to die for, tasted like carnitas almost but had a rich smokey flavor and fell off the spoon. It marked the fat that is often seen so I knew it was a good cut that was used. Mashed potatoes with gravy, these were divine, not buttery tasting but instead a rich cream taste that complimented it well with the beef gravy. Bang Bang pork tenderloin was sweet but whole tasting Broccoli was offered at the salad bar with dip, steamed, and steamed with cheese. Outstanding meatloaf that was a solid consistency and not airy where it is hallowed in the middle and surrounding and falls apart, served in blocks that are just the right size potion rice pilaf was very tasty as well, with a lightly butter taste. Mac and Cheese, it made my heart stop it was so good, very creamy and a lot of butter. Penne with creamy red, almost vodka like sauce, chicken parmesian, tasted like mama usta make. chicken Alfredo noodles. very good breadsticks, delicious and soft. Nacho bar, a must with tortilla chips, ground seasoned beef, sour cream, lettuce, etc. Corn dogs Tatter tots chicken bites corn whole salad area with many options including full tasting dressings Desserts were above par, most amazing single serving cups of different concoctions such as oreo dessert, turtle dessert, cheese cake, cookies and brownies that are bakery quality. Drinks are included which also offer milk and coffee, I got both. You honestly cannot miss an opportunity to come here.

Such an amazing place with a variety of foods. A bit overpriced but that's what you expect in an establishment like that.

I got a pint of reasonably priced beer while I waited on my order. So I ordered a 9" pepperoni and mushroom pizza and some breaded deep fried mushrooms to go. My order came out within 15 minutes. The pizza was pretty good. The crust was thin and crispy. The sauce was pretty decent. There were a fair amount of toppings although they weren't spread out very evenly. The price was about right ($12) but the breaded mushrooms were a little steep ($8) for the few smallish pieces I got. The staff was friendly and they do have a reasonably priced pizza buffet that would definitely entice hungry families on a budget. Chet and Matt's is a 4 star kind of place.

There also appeared to be a salad bar that we did not get a chance to try. We ordered two orders of breadsticks with cheese for the table, cheese pizza, meat lovers pizza, redskin potato pizza along with fried cauliflower. I wished the waitress would have offered some advice when we ordered that much food. The breadsticks with cheese were essentially a ticker cheese pizza and we were completely full when the actual cheese pizza arrived. The red skin pizza was good as it was something new I don't typically see around. The best part of the whole meal was the fried cauliflower which I wish we had a bigger portion as we were trying to split with the table. I'm not sure if I would come back here. The food was fine but nothing to rave over other than the fried cauliflower that I feel we didn't get enough of.

The price for a family suit on a Wednesday with 4 passes to the water park is very reasonable. Upon arrival check in was simple and went pretty quickly. You are allowed to start your fun before the room is ready, which is good because the waterpark closes at 8 and opens at 10 am. You can also continue to play after check out. We found this very nice because you wouldn't get much time to play if not. Our room was ready early but our bands didn't open our room so they gave us new ones. The girls working were friendly and helped us sort it out quickly. We were disappointed to find hair in both of our beds. We called and requested fresh bedding because we wanted to get playing. They never came but they did give us a new room, also with hair on the sheets. Our cleaning person came in and we watched her replace the pillowcases with clean right off the cart and guess what? Still hair! This is a laundry issue but we were relieved to know it wasn't because our beds were dirty. This was our only negative issue. Our room was clean and spacious. The pull out sofa wasn't the most comfy but we were so wore out we slept well. The Waterpark wasn't very crowded and it was very fun for our boys! My grandson said he felt like a VIP and they will both remember this fun time. The workers keep a very good eye on things. We felt safe. There's a Dunkin Donuts in the lobby and you can order on an app which I recommend because I ordered at the kiosk and waited 30 mins for 2 coffees. ($9) I would recommend ordering ahead and pick it up when you get a text to save waiting too long. We brought in snacks and drinks to our room. We had a fridge but no microwave. Overall we all agree it was a great time and we will return. The kids loved everything and they said their review is "great"!

( I bring a black light flash light when I travel to check rooms for any biological material before I unpack anything) .... Now it's November 2025.. we stayed overnight only.. my autistic son absolutely Loves the characters.. Violet especially! When we left last time he cried 2 days straight missing the " wolf pack " characters in costume. So this visit I asked the staff if at all possible Violet could make an appearance while we were there.. and Sammy the squirrel since we didn't get the chance to meet her our first stay . The staff was AWESOME! Sunday morning made my sons WORLD when he met Sammy squirrel for the first time! And he saw violet again too! He brought her a gift from Pittsburgh as well! Thank you SO much for making my sons year! My only gripe was on Saturday evening during story time my son wanted so bad to be picked to physically participate in story time and the girls only chose smaller children to participate even though my son who is 13 special needs was standing and waving his hands begging to be called.. yes we received a lot of weird stares from parents wondering why this big child was so excited about great wolf.. but I feel I shouldn't have to advertise to the WORLD that my son is 13... on the spectrum and loves great wolf!!! Sometimes I feel they only market to children 10 and under... and I am in NO hurry for my child to grow up.. if he still loves the great wolf costume characters when he is 20 SO BE IT! Maybe keep an open mind to ALL children... even if they look older.. because autism doesn't have a " look" ... and my son was sad that he couldn't play a part in story time.. he has been watching great wolf stuff on YouTube all year.. and drawing all of the characters all year too anxiously awaiting returning this weekend.. as a mom that's what I work hard for .. my money goes towards my sons joy.. and considering all of the other water parks around Sandusky I could always give my $ to another place... hope this doesn't sound too harsh.. but I leave honest reviews..

At…read morecheck-in, I explicitly requested a quiet room and was instead placed next to the noisiest common area of the hotel, with children screaming and adults partying late into the night -- an issue clearly reflected in many other reviews. What happened next is far more troubling. Despite having a Do Not Disturb sign on our door for our entire stay, housekeeping entered our room while we were not present and set our alarm clock to go off at 6:00 a.m. We never used or set the alarm at any point. This was not an isolated incident. The exact same thing happened to at least two other guests we spoke with, each of whom also had Do Not Disturb signs displayed and whose alarm clocks went off at exactly 6:00 a.m. the same morning. After being woken up at 6:00 a.m., a male housekeeper opened our door again at 8:00 a.m., waking us a second time -- three hours before checkout. Thankfully, I was in the room, as my 14-year-old daughter was asleep. I immediately reported this to the front desk and was casually told it was a "mistake." Entering an occupied guest room multiple times with a Do Not Disturb sign displayed is not a mistake -- it is a serious breach of privacy and guest safety. To make matters worse, housekeeping carts and equipment were loudly pushed through the halls throughout the day and evening, making rest nearly impossible. The hotel also does not provide basic cable, meaning channels like NBC and ESPN were unavailable -- disappointing during a major national event like the Olympics. I made multiple attempts to contact the hotel's manager, Matthew Watson, and received no response whatsoever. This property shows little respect for guest privacy, safety, or basic comfort. If you value a quiet stay or personal security, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.
