So I've been craving ribs lately! We thought ok let's try famous Dave's through a delivery service. We ordered a full rack of ribs, onion strings, French fries, apple pie and French silk slice. It took about 45 mins on an early Sunday evening. Not bad considering they were 6 miles away. The ribs were ordered naked so that everybody could put their own bbq sauce on. The ribs were inedible, tough, overcooked and like hard as nails! They were black on both ends and it tasted awful. The onion strings said nothing about a spice and that made my friend sick. They were soggy, greasy and cold! The fries had black streaks and we weren't sure what it was since they weren't grilled so we didn't trust them. Finally when it came to the packing of the 1 bag they placed the French silk slice on top of the hot ribs! UGH! Food handlers 101 NEVER PLACE COLD FOOD ON HOT TOP OF HOT FOOD! Why? Hmmm well since this is a teachable moment, HOT AIR RISES & melts chocolate mouse and whip cream it was inedible goo in a plastic container! 3 people got to split one slice of apple pie for $80+!!!! Normally this is my go to place for bbq but today must have been their off day. I walked in and stood waiting for a period of time and did not receive assistance. I finally flagged someone down asking if there is anyone to seat someone. I was told they don't have host and be patient. I told her I'm being patient and was just asking. We just attended a holiday party catered by Famous Dave's of Stapleton, and the experience was fantastic. The servers were very attentive and friendly, keeping the serving station spotless and sanitary while graciously helping everyone, from young children to our wonderful community elders. I went for the juicy brisket with those delicious little bits of fat, topped with Famous Dave's signature BBQ sauce. On the side, I enjoyed mashed potatoes with bits of potato skin, a warm, cheesy scoop of mac 'n' cheese, and a sweet cornbread muffin. Everything was flavorful and comforting. I also had the chance to meet GM Mitch, who was incredibly friendly, informative, and welcoming. I've visited this location before, and after today's holiday event, I'm even more certain I'll be returning. Thank you for the great food and service! read more

I ended going back to this place several times since my last review since it's very close to where I work and let me tell you, my mind has changed. Their service was still great but their food has improved tremendously. Maybe I just got unlucky the first time but I really have started enjoying going to famous Dave's on my lunch breaks. Amazingly disappointing! Let me start by acknowledging the staff. They were awesome, attentive, and very pleasant. Zero complaints about the service or the people. However the food was exceptionably bad. The brisket was dry like chalk and the wedge fries were entirely forgettable. The salad dressing was runny, almost like the Blue Cheese was watered down. The Roast chicken was good, moist, and had some flavor. The corn bread should be squares cut from a pan and fresh cooked, instead tasted like a store bought corn muffin with a honey glaze spread on top. I was overall disappointed by a large margin. The restaurant sits on far too large a foot print (square space) for the business I saw there. For proof to my point, you need only look at the sad bar space that had less back stock of spirits and liquor than my own home cabinet. I sincerely doubt that the large bar area ever sees a crowd commensurate with its size. Any bar where the bartenders can lock the register and disappear for 10 minutes at a time, does not have the business it needs on a Saturday afternoon during football season. One of the rare 1 star ratings, I've ever dropped. read more

This is the worse bbq I have ever had. The service was incompetent. My order was wrong.. I took the food back. They tried to fix it. Gave me what I ordered meat wise. Full disclosure, I'm from Texas where we have good bbq. The bbq was bad. It should not be served to the public. We tried many different meats. Even the sides were poor. Fried pickles were over breaded and over cooked. Even the roast chicken was worse than a grocery store rotisserie chicken. The bbq sauces were horrible. Really. The location is easy to get to. Plenty of parking and the inside of the restaurant was neat and tidy. Our server was super nice and made sure our waters were full. I ordered "burnt ends" from the menu. There is an upcharge for this item. I have had burnt ends in the past from other barbeque places and understand why there would be an upcharge. However, what came to the table was not burnt ends. It was diced up meat with a very dark sauce for the "burnt" look. This was disappointing. Since I was on my lunch break and in the area at the time I came to this location. The look and feel of this location compared with others that I have been to is alot different but the service was still on par to what Ive come to expect. I'll start off by saying that this is not in a good area (lots of shady people around parking lot) but as far as the restaurant itself...we stood in the lobby waiting to be seating, there was already 1 person who had been standing there awhile when we entered. I don't think this place deserves the poor rating it has. The BBQ, while not being the best I've ever had was flavorful. The baby backs were not fall off the bone at all but I realize not everyone wants them that way. They tasted great. The sausage was good as well. Wilber beans had a nice flavor and the bread pudding was surprisingly excellent considering how far from New Orleans Denver is. I can echo the review from Santana S. that I see on the right side of my monitor for the same date. The food was the most horrid garbage delivery food I have ever received. The smell -- I can even tell what it is exactly -- bbq'd poo? -- is pervasive throughout the house. I feel horrible for the Grubhub driver whose car must be close to totaled today from this very long deliver across town due to my mistake as I meant to try an order from Dave's Hot Chicken. The order was irreversible so I just went with it. I am not religious at all but I pray for the driver and myself as I open the house up on a cold day to get rid of the stench. I'm so sorry, Julio! I really am! I was exhausted last night and prefer to do our cooking. I went for a walk and the stench just hangs in the air throughout the house like a curse. So glad that we are not physically ill from what we tried of this garbage. I mean, was it taken out of the dumpster, boxed up, and given to the driver to bring to us? Our doorbell camera didn't even see him as he dropped/tossed/threw the stuff onto the edge of the steps and must have run for his life. I don't write reviews at all anymore but just had to do so in this instance. We seldom order food delivery but this is a persistently hellish experience. Haven't in years and years. I just picked up my order and spent almost $90 on the All American BBQ Feast. I ordered curbside, waited in my car for 35 minutes, had to go in. Then they were missing the cheese curds and bread pudding from the order. Had to order those separately. Stood there waiting. Then I get home and not only are the cheese curds missing the cheese/sauce but, there are only 15 tiny pieces in the box! Then the bread pudding was missing the sauces as well, just the bread was thrown in a box! Then to make it even worse...I get home and there are missing items from the ALL American Feast :( EXTREMELY UNHAPPY! I have called the corporate head office to file a complaint. Absolutely disgusting. Take my money and give me S**T!! Updated review (two weeks later). I responded to their email form and explained what happened with photos again, still no response! Super slow service. Came here to pick up a to go order of build your own "dead cow" for a dead cow lover and a few cans of bad, sugar carbonated drinks. All very slow and the just horrendous.
