The bartender called me over and I was able to order at the bar. Great customer service! The marijuana themed sandwiches are a great concept. I loved the interior decorated with posters from The Sandlot, Beetlejuice, Top Gun and a number of other classics. I loved the giant mural of all the favorite cartoon characters getting high on a flight. The tables and floor were clean and the service was quick. Plus, all the staff was wearing a mask. The bartender knows that jalapeños are my homeboy so he puts a ton of them in it, as a routine... so if you can't handle the heat, get out of my trough. I am a professional who works nears Cheba on Champa. I was a customer in good standing, spending at least $120.00 a week there, or $500 a month, and tipping above average. On a recent Saturday afternoon, I was downtown with a dead cellphone, but the bartenders at Cheba always let me charge my phone there, no questions asked. There was an immature child bartender working named Beyonce. I ordered a draft ($7.53). She served the beer and I asked, "Can I charge my phone?" Without even looking up, she snootily said, "I'm using it." I didn't think much of it, but I chose to leave and find a bar with a charger. I didn't even sip my beer and I left no tip--I only ordered it as a courtesy for my re-charge, which I was denied. Long story short, I couldn't find another charger in the neighborhood, so I came back two hours later. The child bartender said to me very condescendingly, "Thanks for the tip." In my world, a server who snips about a tip is immediately fired. Modern children have no concept of business or customer service, they're just greedy ingrates. THEN, the manager comes over and rudely says, "It's against our policy to let customers recharge with our charger." I have recharged there dozens of times with no fuss whatsoever. This was about the non-tip for an untouched beer. So, because this child bartender was upset that I didn't tip for an untouched product, she lost the company a friendly and popular $500.00 per month customer, as I will NEVER eat or drink at Cheba Hut ever again. I also will never order from Cheba for our office --- 15 people -- ever again. Cheba needs a customer service training program and the child bartender should be terminated.
