Called in asking 2 questions, the guy there today had quite the sour mood but it's whatever you never know what kind of day someone is having. Anyways I go in and find what I'm looking for, the dude was like upset he had to work and grab something for me when he was scrolling on his phone. After I had asked him a question, and he kept shooting back with like weird, passive aggressive attitude, not to mention him " jokingly" calling me dirty even though I just got off work. Overall a very not pleasant, miserable gentleman. Not a good experience for my first time at this location, I'll definitely be sticking to the location east of this one. Called and spoke with Amy about buying some PS3 games, PS2 games, and an Xbox game console. They recommended that I bring in everything and they'll see what they came buy. This place was super easy to find, has plenty of parking, and I was able to pull up right to the front! Both Max and Amy greeted me when I came in, and directed me to the Buy Counter. Amy went through my stuff and quickly gave me a number, while engaging in intellectual conversation. They were able to test out the Xbox, even though I didn't have a power cord. Yelled at little kids who accidentally picked up "something super expensive" which was not behind glass and at literal foot level from the ground. I have been in customer service for over ten years. The staff in this building do not care about you at all. Max is extremely rude no matter how nice you are to him. The blonde male dressed as a female is also extremely rude for no reason at all. I have brought this company plenty of business and every time I walk out with an extremely sour taste in my mouth. The downside is that this is the closet fallout games to me. I'd hate to have to start driving to the Tatum location. Whoever owns this building should have a serious conversation with the staff. This is a place that only sells used video games. They have all sorts of retro games here so it's a great place to browse if you are a collector. They even have the old Brady strategy guides too. What I love most about this place is that I got more value selling my games here than I would at a Gamestop. I brought a bunch of games to sell; mainly PS2 games, but I sold a Switch, PS4, and PS3 game. After selling 15 games (these games were ones Gamestop would not buy off me), I got $100. They wouldn't take two of my games since they said the CD's weren't up to their standards. read more

EVERY employee in the store is on an EGO/Power trip. This place has gone downhill since Keith left. The customer should never have to ask for help upon entering but this is a must because the employees NEVER greet anyone. This can be awkward for the customer. They are NOT willing to negotiate ever. The trade counter should be separated from counter sales because the person trading seems to suffer. The CAT with the beard and backwards cap who is now "The Manager" should not be around customers. He is very rude and condescending and is on the worst power trip of all. You are in the customer service business but apparently don't know it yet. I never thought I would start playing a Sega Genesis again, but when I came across this place and saw that they sold more than just current consoles and games, but old school consoles as well, I knew I had to get my hands on a Sega Genesis and some games that I grew up playing, Streets of Rage II, Streetfighter, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Although they don't have every single game ever made in stock, they still have a pretty sizable number of old school games to choose from. Moreover they also pay more for your used games than other used games stores, and they even sell Blu Rays for about 2 bucks a pop (my memory on this might be off, but it is still cheap). Overall this is a great place to go if you are looking for games that you may not find on the market any longer, or if you are looking to sell some old games or consoles that you may have lying around. read more

A good place to buy new and used games and a bunch of different consules. I got a PS3 and a game and spent about 150 maybe more to be honest I can't remember but I thought it was a good deal. Admittedly my experience in this establishment has varied quite wildly. I am a new Arizona transplant, and went in search of a locally owned used/retro game store, and initially had not been disappointed. Though I found it at times difficult to navigate their large stock of games (and was surprised to be told that they had no inventory tracking system to look up titles), I had found the staff to be excited about their work and passionate about their games. However, on each successive visit my shopping experience continued to wane considerably. Each time I would return, rather alone or with my nephew, I found the staff to be less and less polite and cordial. Additionally I listened in on conversations that ranged from two staff members loudly discussing their tastes in pornography and their friends in the industry, to fervently discussing religions they strongly disliked in great and unnecessarily antagonistic detail. I am almost never greeted, with staff favoring their discussions with one another or friends, and almost always am made to feel that I am a burden in the store. On occasion I meet a cordial staffer, but that experience has become so rare that I've simply stopped coming in. I visit once every several months, with the most recent being on 12/30/17, and the experience hadn't changed. Their selection is most certainly great, but honestly my personal experiences have caused me to seek shopping experiences elsewhere. read more

Selection has many duplicates, the games that were worthwhile are all ridiculously priced. Have stickers from previously being priced noticeably lower then fallout is selling them for. Basic ps1 game like tony hawk is close to twenty dollars. The girl working the counter is rude, the return policy shown in the store and on the receipt does not apply or match what is being said by workers in store. Was told we cannot return games for refund after owned less than 24 hrs with a receipt, was told that the game has to be defective to return it, but the receipt and signs in the store do not state this. Overpriced Used PS2 controllers from 2003 for $25 each plus tax. Any game worth buying is noticeably overpriced. Not worth our time. read more

If you're looking for vintage video games, this is a great place to check out. They stock pretty much every system and even have demo consoles set up to play inside! If you're just trying to recreate those childhood memories, the selection is amazing with prices being on the upper end of reasonable. If you're a collector of vintage games, keep in mind the store is too and their prices reflect the time and effort they have put into acquiring items. Came in today and they were super helpful and nice, they said they can't guarantee that it would work which is understandable, but for $3.50 there's not much to lose. I have now been to this establishment 2 times. One was to buy a usb snes controller to hook up to my mac. The other was because my SNES original machine has a power plug ripped out of the rear. I took it in and the guys in house fixed it for me on the spot. Just cost me $10 for a new power adapter. This is a small mom and pop like store and I really respect that. I'm always a sucker for local video game stores. I've lived in places dominated by GameStop and EB Games... and I used to love frequenting them... when they were smaller and far less corporate. Over the years though, those individual stores started losing their spirit, their individual management that made them feel like local stores of their own. It's hard to get a real, honest, individual opinion out of the workers of these places without knowing they've been a bit brainwashed with what they know. Which is why I started avoiding them and started aiming for local video game stores. I came to visit my partner in Arizona and wondered, "Hmm... she goes to GameStop a lot... but is there a store near her that's local AND worth going to?" Lo and behold, I find this place. It's certainly awesome. Now, I've seen larger selections elsewhere, I've seen better store conditions and organization elsewhere, I've seen better forms of self-advertisings and community-building strategies in other areas... But if you want the best in AZ when it comes to local video game stores - as in a place that JUST focuses on video games and knows their stuff (both old school and new school): You're going to want to come here. A perk? They'll match GameStops' prices, if not beat them entirely. Outside of that... what I CAN say I'm very surprised by and applaud them for: They have the largest selection of darn-good used games I've seen in any local video game store. It's not often when you'll see extremely-popular old games or even underground-hit niche titles still in stock in a place that isn't eBay. But there's actually a good chance you'll find it here! I have been coming to this store for years. I try to do all of my video game shopping with them for a couple reasons. Their game prices beat GameStops prices. If you find it cheaper of GameStops website they will beat it. I would match rather support a local company than a huge chain. Never once do I ever feel pressured to buy anything or to be asked to sign up for some club card. Not do I get asked 3 or 4 times if I want to pre order this hot new game that's coming out. Employees seem to be getting better in the attitude area. Same guys working for years, so it's nice to see them back to being welcoming and helpful. I like checking all these places for my retro game needs around the holiday time because you'll see lots of great stuff come through. I managed to find some great titles I needed for my collection for an okay price. I've been to this location multiple multiple multiple times. These guys never let me down. They're always informative, always have good conversation, the prices are phenomenal and they're incredibly accommodating. Every single time I've gone they have always went the extra mile to make me feel like I'm at home. This isn't your Bookman's where you're just left to your own devices; these guys will help you out and they will go to whatever lengths it seems like they need to go to to make you happy. There are only 3 locations, but well worth the drive if you don't happen to live nearby. Plenty of things you're not going to find at places like GameStop; when I needed a GBA SD charger and a GBA-GCN link cable and Bookmans turned up dry, someone directed me to Fallout and I have never been disappointed. There will be things that you often can't find there, like newer games and consoles sometimes, or the rare, obscure game we wish we had never traded for store credits (Custom Robo, I made a grave mistake, I'm sorry...). I was greeted by friendly staff and had pleasant conversations about, of course, video games old and new. Every time I go I have a blast looking through this time capsule. There is a lot that can be said about Fallout Games. The first time I walked in I was simply blown away! No one in the entire valley has anywhere near the selection that these guys have. I spent over 2 hours looking around on my first visit just trying to take it all in. They have tons of rare games that I haven't seen in years and for a pretty fair price. That was the one thing I respected most. I spend a lot of time following retro price trends and these guys were spot on. I felt that they had an excellent reflection of what a games true value was, so I never feel ripped off when I go in. Their complete in box games actually take into account the condition of the packaging which NO ONE else does! On my second visit, I made a stupid mistake and purchased an item that I did not need. I bought a power cord for a super nintendo that I thought I had lost, but found afterward. Even though they do not offer a cash back policy AND I could not make it back within my warranty period, I called them before it was up and explained my situation. The gentleman on the extended my warranty for me until I had time to come back in and gave me a FULL refund in store credit which I spent on a game I had been wanting. I was impressed that they were willing to go out of their way to try to help me when I screwed up. I made my most recent visit last week when I had called their Tempe location and had a game transfered to Phoenix. It is nice to know that I don't need to drive all over the city to find the games I want. I traded in a few doubles that I had laying around and I feel like I was offered a very fair price. Over all, I can not recommend any game store in the Phoenix Metro area more than Fallout Games. read more
