Terrible , I get there at 130pm to trade funkos, they don't text for 5 hours just to let me know a "exchange is ready" and they offer me $50 when I walked in. I took in $300 worth of Funkos they offered not even half of what they worth, what's the point of wasting 5 hours go look at toys and lmk you can give me $50, you can sell 27 Funkos for $10 a piece and make more than this lame store offers, and everyone in there is weird and awkward, don't do business with these weirdos, offers suck read more

We found this spot by chance as it's close by home. It's a really neat store with retro games, consoles, action figures, funkos and so much more! It was clean, easy to navigate, super friendly and knowledgeable customer service. The prices are comparable to other retro shops as well. We ended up leaving with a few things the kids found and I'm sure will be back soon! read more

So I came in today to look for Pokemon cards. I spent 30 or so minutes looking for an Eevee card I wanted. I found it, and it was for ten cents. Cool. However, they couldn't run my card for just ten cents. Understandable. I went to hand the Pokemon back to the employee, and he just stared at me. I said, "I don't have cash so here you go." Again, just stared at me. Finally he said, "I don't own that side of the store, you'll have to put the card back where you found it." Huh?! Who makes their own customers put back items they cannot buy? The whole encounter was incredibly uncomfortable and awkward for me. Honestly, his attitude just really turned me off. I was excited to find a place with cheap and high quality cards but I'll just stick to other stores like Zia Records who have exemplary customer service. read more

My daughter took me here a while and I loved it! I bought a Gameboy and a few games to go with it. I had so many questions about their stuff but everyone was excited to answer me. All of my games and the Gameboy itself works and I haven't had a single problem with anything, I now have my daughter on the lookout for other games I want, lol. I heard of this shop after cruising by their booth at Phoenix Fan Fusion. A nice woman who worked at the booth gave us a flyer, and since the con itself was mostly a bust, we decided to check out the shop as we were going to be in that part of town in the evening anyway. Boy am I glad we did! Everyone in my group found something to be excited about, well priced, and kind passionate employees. Myself I was looking for a smattering of different vintage Pokemon cards, and they had a few binders. I thumbed through them and picked out a few, then, after hearing how affordable they were, came back and thumbed through them *again* because I knew I'd be hard pressed to find a good deal elsewhere. With Pokemon being so popular these days, I have a really hard time finding even common vintage cards for a reasonable price -- I'll contrast my experience at Retro Exchange with my experience at Fan Fusion I overheard a vendor say to a customer "No, we don't discount anything, ever." then laugh in the guy's face! Beyond Pokemon, folks in my party also left the shop with retro games and action figures at decent prices. Everyone was happy! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. It was great until Jesse James took over the Pokémon cards and all cards section. My son sold $200 worth of credit to the store in Pokemon cards and now he was told because Retro sold that section off to Jesse James , JJ has set the rules and now my sons credit is no good in the card section. This is very disappointing. Honestly JJ company is full of assholes and will only bring Retro Exchange down. As of today all events are canceled. Very disappointing and we will no longer bring business to Retro Exchange. Good luck RE you're going to be it. read more

I have been to many non chain gamer/toys/retro type stores before, and this one is among the best. I would say typically a store has good games or toys, but this place has both. It's very clean and organized into sections. They have toys based on movie/show and then cards and video games have separate areas too. Prices seem very on par with other stores and online. I would say the reason for 4 stars is they don't have any really good stuff. It seemed like they have generic games and not the medium or higher end ones, which is what I like. They did have some old console boxed sets and they are getting harder to find. read more

I came in out of curiosity one day and was blown away at their selection of collectibles! From GI Joe, Godzilla, Pokemon, Disney, Hot Wheels etc. Tons of action figures, video games, playing cards and fun displays. You can trade in items for either store credit or cash, and they're pretty reasonable with their prices. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable Only thing I would like is if they carried more Polly Pocket, Sanrio and plush items. read more

started coming here for the Pokémon league tournaments. Cool at first, but they can't seem to get the scheduling straight. Facebook schedule has conflicting information with the store schedule when you call in which has conflicting information with the actual schedule. drove across the valley multiple times for events only to find out that they were either not happening or that they were different kind of events than what they told me when I called in. Nobody seems to be on the same page here and unfortunately, I drove across the valley for this multiple times . On their ebay store, they sold me an action figure described as new with 'bubble detached.' I asked to cancel mere hours after, sent another email before it was shipped, and these utter incompetents ship it anyway and then send a note avoiding taking responsibility for such an idiotic move. When I receive it, it isn't 'detached,' the figure is full-on used with an accessory broken and one piece outright missing that was in the listing pics, a total bait and switch scam. I email them three times and get nothing. They are liars, cheats, scam artists, cowards who are so pitiful they delight in taking $20 from someone if they can get away with it rather than meet the bare minimum threshold for decent human behavior. read more

Amazing shop. It's CLEAN and organized which makes it better then some bigger shops. Selling prices aren't amazing but it's better then other big shops like collectors marketplace. Went in to sell my funko pops. I got there around 4. Granted most of them were not mint or high priced. I did have two that were in the $50 range. The guy told me they had a bit of a line since there was a lot of items that needed to be viewed. I decided to leave because I did not want to wait there for however much time. They said I would get a text letting me know when they were done reviewing my stuff. I got a text at 6 saying they were out of trade cash for the day and that I would have to come back another day. I went in the next day around 4 again. They offered me $85. told the girl I wanted to take out my 2 most expensive pops and just sell the others. The lady told me she would have to go ask a manager to see if it was possible because they don't like it when customers shop around. I told her if you give me more money then you can have the other two pops. Eventually we settled on 95. Honestly I just wanted to get rid of them because I tried selling on marketplace for a while. Her manager walked by and she called him over. He was literally chewing on a piece of plastic while he was talking. She whispered to him asking if it was even okay to buy them for 95. I stood there for a hot minute while this girl was trying to figure this computer stuff while the manager was not helping her and chewing on his plastic. While all this was happening they was this other girl vacuuming right past me blowing the exhaust of it towards me. I got the paperwork singed but they told me I would have to come in a different day because they were out of trade money AGAIN! I asked the girl if it would be better If I came in earlier. Like How do you not have enough money for your trading customers. She said I can pick a day and they would put money aside for me. I came in one last time and got my 95 bucks. Don't waste your time. Absolutely the best place ever. I have been searching for multiple classic Star Wars items and ended up finding this place. Upon entering, the staff is wonderful and welcoming. I could have easily spent 4 hours walking around admiring all the items and finding treasures that I needed for my collection. From Star Wars to Star Trek, GI Joe to Transformers, Marvel to DC, there is so much to see. I walked out of there with 5 collectibles I have been searching for. I will definitely be back! read more
