The shop is located in the Melrose district at 7th Ave and Coolidge st (close to so many other thrift shops).They are open from Thursday thru Sunday on the 3rd weekend each month, and the show theme changes. I love this place and discovered it randomly one Saturday about 4 years ago when I was early to meet friends to dine at the Fry Bread House and popped in here to kill some time and so glad I found this place! This place is open one weekend a month and I usually miss the weekends they are open but this weekend (Dec 6 and 7, 2025), I randomly looked up if they would be open and they were open for a pop up! Sweet! I came in here on a Saturday morning around 10:30am and the back parking lot was almost already full! This place is popular and people know about this spot. I love their concept and they have a lot on offer especially now being the holidays! I spent a good hour looking at things and hopped in line around 11:30am and the line to pay was growing pretty long. Their process to purchase items is that you get a number at the door and then when you want something, find a helpful staff and they will take your items to the front for you. A nice concept especially if youre buying large items like furniture. Hard to describe what the style is here, maybe I could call it hobo cique or something like that. Either way, I found myself with a good amount of items and this place is lovely to holiday shop for friends and loved ones! Definitely come check it out! Another fabulous vintage shopping experience!!! The Easter/vintage theme has so much "Spring" flair as you walked through!!! Bunnies and flowers galore!!! Not to mention the beautiful furniture, glassware, home goods, jewelry etc... No two events are ever the same!!!! Only open every third Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each month. What a fun monthly pop-up market!! My friend asked me to go along with her while she looked for some furnishings for her new home, and I can honestly say that this place blew me away!! They have SO many great decor items, vintage and regular furniture, clothing, toys, lighting, art, you name it! It is open for 4 days each month, and their items/themes vary from month to month. We went on the first day that it was open to get the best selection. I recommend following them on Instagram for details about upcoming markets and sneak peeks at what they'll have. SO fun!! It's a great place to pick up gifts as well. The prices were wonderful, I was shocked. We walked through twice to make sure that we didn't miss any gems. Pinterest in real life. This is the perfect place to go and wander around after a nice dinner in the area. Even their bathrooms are adorably decorated. There's plenty of friendly staff around. I loved the French market theme this month and I'll probably return for the holiday theme next month. However, I'm giving it four stars because I don't think I could afford to actually buy any furniture here. The prices seem a little arbitrary, too. There were some gorgeous frames and mirrors in the $30-$50 range, but I also saw a tree branch being sold for $98. read more

Love this place- great finds, some vendors reasonably priced, others a bit - way too high. All very beautifully decorated and creative with their space. Great place to go to decorate your house for a shabby chic look and not pay to get in or park like you do at Junk in the trunk. Every month is a different theme. Ex: Halloween, Christmas, Spring, European week and more... Parking is limited though so best to go early or later in the day. Lanyard with your # as you enter helps you shop. As you find things they will take the items to the front and put them in binds w your # in it. Tip- if the check out line is too long at the front- there is one in the back building too that never has a line. Just get your items and go to that building to check out and no wait! Amazing vintage jewelry lady- Anne - runs Dos Fannies just to the left of the from registers- she's so nice, small little space and her jewelry is amazing! I have always been a fan of this store. Even though items have been overpriced, especially this last year. But I still went every month for those special finds. But not any more I saw a clock up on a wall, could barely see the handwritten price $200 An employee came and took it off the wall, took the tag and the clock When I got to the register the cashier rang it up and I left. An employee put it in the vehicle. One I got home I saw the back of it and it's a NON WORKING clock, for $200!!! I know all sales are final but I called to tell them I didn't know the clock was just a decoration. They told me the tag said it was a non-working lock, so I could not return it. I NEVER had the tag in my position so how could I read it??? NEVER going there again! Buyer beware! read more

Nice place that has a mixture of vintage pieces, and pieces that 'look' vintage. The outside looks smaller than what is actually available, which was a nice surprise. As this shop is vendor based, some vendors are very reasonably priced, but pricing can be hit and miss. I've only visited Sweet Salvage twice in 2020 but I am hooked for life! This is one of the best gems in Melrose and I have been telling all of my friends about this vintage marketplace. Each month that they are open (Thursday-Sunday) is designed around a theme, and there is so much to look at, that it can be overwhelming at times! Sweet salvage is definitely bittersweet. I love the concept and I love how they setup the warehouse, but when we came on a Sunday afternoon, we could not find employees. We were supposed to get a lanyard and if we see something we like, we either take it or if it's a large item, we write on a tag that is sold on the actual item and take the item #. It was a little stressful finding this out and when we ask questions: delivery options, price of delivery, etc - none of the employees we went to knew. Then I guess one employee asked another employee and quoted me $40 for delivery - didn't matter if you were 1 mile away or 10 miles away. Even when we paid, the cashier had no idea how delivery will work. She had me write in a book my name, address and phone number and "someone will call me". So two or three days pass and no call. I pay this item in full and on the receipt, its final sale. So.... make sure you really love the item before you buy it. I message the business and the owner gets back to me right away. Someone calls me and sets up delivery. I finally receive the item and they ask for the $40 - cash or check only (no credit card). How the hell would I know that beforehand? Luckily I had cash on me because I did not have any checks. I finally inspect the table and of course, I remember it looking a lot better at Sweet Salvage because of the staging and pretty stuff around/on it. There were so many imperfections that there was no way I can just start using the table. We would have to get it resurfaced, painted, stained, something! So, I'm on a hunt to look for someone who can do this for me which will only cost more $$. The price was already high - for just a table, $500 + delivery and tax. I think I just got too caught up in the moment (really because of all the fixer upper shows I watch) because when you think about it, I could of bought the same type of dining table that had no imperfections for the same price somewhere else. I was planning on going to the next event in November but I will be more hesitant to purchase anything this time. Maybe I will just go for inspiration than being a paying customer. read more

Sweet Salvage is right up my alley. I go almost every month. I love the decorating ideas I get walking around checking out the pretty staging. The prices are often steep, but they've got a great business model in being open just 4 days a month. It creates a frenzy, and you buy because if you don't, the next person will and you'll miss out! I've had my eye on this place ever since I saw the sign put up ages ago. I've been hunting, searching.... trying to find any piece of information I could. And then about a month ago an opening date was given. It was also then I discovered that it was being opened by the owners of Not Too Shabby on Cave Creek Rd. I was a bit worried at first that it was going to be a beautiful store, but nothing that fit my mid-century modern feel. That still didn't keep me from being breathtaken today when I swung in to see if I could find a lil something for myself.. and walked out with a few items. The vibe is like a yard sale and really makes you feel at home. The employees have some pretty swanky aprons I want to steal for my kitchen and are super helpful. Even when you don't think to open a book to check for the price. And even when they said they'd been eyeing one of the items you purchased, wanting to get it in a week or so. There are tons of items from the 30s-60s mainly, from farmer to modern. There's some new items too, with that old feel, such as jewelry. But mainly, this is stuff I've had a hard time finding on 7th Ave, and at a better price. You can tell a lot of attention was made to purchases and decor and that everyone there cares. I didn't expect to purchase Mr. Boston's De Luxe Official Bartender's Guide.. or the steel mik crate and bottles... but I'm sure I'll find a place for them. They are lovely. read more

Thanks to our friend Brian R, my husband has been talking about Sweet Salvage for months ever since his first visit... he goes religiously every month whether we're in the market to buy something for the house or not. I finally paid Sweet Salvage my first official visit this past Sunday afternoon. I expected to find everything picked through, since they are only open four days each month and we literally arrived an hour before they were closing, but there was still plenty to look at from unique furniture, frames, chandeliers, cool Halloween decorations, framed mini-chalkboards, old lockers, and so much more. The staff was super friendly and didn't seem to mind my toddler walking around and touching everything either. Some of the merchandise is pricey but some is reasonable... you just have to be patient and enjoy the experience. I now see why my husband so adores this place. He seems to find hidden treasures each visit too - he's got an eye for this stuff. He's more into shopping for the house than I am, but I had fun looking at everything and look forward to going to back in the future to explore further! I know it's been said in past reviews, but Sweet Salvage is not your typical retail store. It's more of a four day shopping event with a new theme and fresh, unique merchandise to choose from. The concept of this place is pretty great. They open the third Thursday of each month through Sunday. The rest of the month, they go through various consignment stores and get the best of the best items to sell here. The only cons would be that they are just buying and reselling goods that people could find on their own if they wanted. What makes people come here is that they create beautiful displays of their items, making the goods more attractive. They do have umbrellas available to stay in the shade however. If you are looking for actual antiques this is not your place. The husband and I needed a patio set for our front yard (which we just had landscaped), but didn't want to spend a fortune.... You know.... Front yard furniture has a higher possibility of disappearing... Anyway, we checked around some vintage/thrift/salvage stores. We ended up finding what we needed at sweet salvage. This place is fairly pricey for what they're selling.... We bought a rusted old table for 50$....not the best deal ever. And it was about as cheap as it came. But the service was helpful and friendly. And it is a neat place to walk around with lots of (really well maintained or restored) items. Kim has had our business, Photo Booth, to celebrate the openings on Thursdays. Every time we go we find a MUST HAVE... Always for an amazing price. We found our new Business staple, a Trunk we use for props. It's amazing. Next time we find an armoire. You find some amazing custom sewn one of a kind items, like the lace Curtin we use for weddings. Clearly I have turned into a fan girl because last month I bough a Sweet Salvage tank top and I would stab someone if they attempted to borrow it... HOW TO LOSE A CUSTOMER!!!! July 22,2017 My friend ,and I had lunch around 11:00am . She talked going to this place "Sweet Salvage".. I really didn't want to go, but I did. So we get there, and was given lanyards with numbers to finalize our sale. When checking out, there were some confusion with our orders . I got a blue green door, and she got green door that she did not want at the cash register. The sales person initials CSM ( small girl, with black hair girl) helped us. I get home to see I was charged for my friends door. Keep in mind we didn't take neither one home that day do to we needed a truck, but paid for the 1 door which was not mine come to find out. I called Sweet Salvage and the woman on the phone was very ..confused. I had to explain to her over 5 times what happened. Our numbers must had been switched!!!! Next day my friend and I went back to straighten everything out and pick my door. Again nothing but lots ..of confusion.! Once all figured out, I was refunded and recharged for the correct door. As I was putting my wallet way , the cashier that originally helped us the day before , walks to the front and says to me" The next time you and your friend decide to comeback, you may NOT want to go to happy hour first before you shop. The concept they have is not the best, this causes them to be over priced and for the most part will not give any discounts no matter how much you spend. They usually have the same stuff from month to month because of the items being over priced. The few time we have been here it is hard to tell who works there because every one has a lanyard and staff isn't clearly marked. Sweet salvage is only open the third Thursday of the month straight through Sunday. There are many different vendors within the building so there is something for everyone. I have been two months in a row and have to say I love the Steampunk AZ section near the back of the shop. They have some great iron pieces as well as some retro items. FYI if you venture out on Thursday get ready for a rowdy crowd of treasure hunters! It's chaotic for sure! read more
