Sorry, this is a review for a couple weeks ago. You all know I don't order for myself, so the waitress brought me a cup of Split Pea soup then a Chicken Pot pie. Obviously a can pea soup, not too impressive. But then the homemade CPP, I can only say WOW. THat had to be the best Pot Pie ever. Perfect portions of meat and vegetables. I have not been there for anything other than breakfast but the wife and I go back frequently on a Saturday or Sunday mornings when we don't feel like cooking at home. The food was good and plates are huge and the prices okay but the service was not and there is no room for anything. I came for the first time with co workers and even though it was only 10 of us we got shoved into a small corner (normally sitting 7) with a security camera pointing right at our faces. The server was way too stressed out and the place was not all that busy at least that we could see. I always leave a tip because I mean come on now any service is better than no service, but I can honestly say I was contemplating whether to leave any this time or not because I was so dissatisfied with the attitude of the server. PS don't ask for seconds on your child's juice because they will just come and warn you there is no refills and you'll have to buy another one. We stopped in on a rainy, rainy day this past week, while passing through the town. I had never been to this restaurant before. I had some kind of chicken sandwich that had bacon on it. To be honest, it just tasted ok, but it did look appetizing. Another person in our party had a large Greek salad and it looked great. Friendly and attentive wait staff. I just had a three meat burrito. It was a good sized burrito packed with meat, eggs, potato and cheese. It cave with salsa, chopped tomato and lettuce. Service was quick friendly and efficient. I good hearty breakfast for $10 plus tax and tip. I recommend you try their breakfast! read more

I'm really not sure what all the hype is about this place. It was rather warm in the cafe itself; and I get it- there's a grill back there and this place isn't huge so it wasn't an instant turn off, but then after we sat down and my husband was served coffee in a cup with lipstick on it, I started to think we made a bad choice for breakfast this morning. I ordered the eggs benedict, and it was mediocre at best. I think my husband can make a better eggs benedict at home- so why am I paying for something that I can get better at home in my PJs? Service was good, even though we got dirty cup (lord only knows what else wasn't clean). The only reason this place got three stars out of me was because the service was good, it sure wasn't because of the food. I'm not sure I'd return- perhaps if I was part of a group that really wanted to eat here I wouldn't protest, but I definitely won't be coming back here again on my own. read more

This is a great diner with great food, it's the real deal, Order up a Turkey Club with Bacon and you get real roasted Turkey breast, not that rubbery processed stuff. I have to give kudos's to the service, your coffee cup is always full and the service is quick. read more

The best diner food around. In a world where humans may or may not make breakfast for you in the morning: your cook was slower than most but thorough. I asked specifically for well done hash browns, as well as bacon. He was happy to oblige. The bacon usually comes to the table just as crispy as I hope. The diner food is great enough to be served today, in that it is dressed with a pile of fresh veggies or fruit; something fresh that can be eaten as soon as the food is given; the idea being, the sight of food entices you to become immediately ravenous, surrender untold sums to very expensive chefs - because you must eat THIS, EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!! I've been frequenting Fallbrook Cafe for over a decade now!! It continues to be my go-to place when I just want that warm feeling and great food!!! It's relaxed and the staff are all great!! The owners are fabulous and so friendly!! Everyone who works there knows I'm partial to the tuna melt... and their sourdough bread is wonderful no matter how you have it!! But, there's nothing better than a Saturday morning breakfast there with the fluffiest pancakes. There is a great diner feel and it's perfect for a small town like Fallbrook. We usually only ever come here when Main St. Cafe is overly busy. The food at Fallbrook Cafe is ok at best. It's just breakfast. When we've gone before, we usually always say we'll never go back but with limited breakfast options we go again. This time was the last time. We were told it would be a 10 minute wait that turned into 30 minutes waiting for a table. The problem with this is there were tables open, yet no one was putting people at tables. They don't monitor the waitlist properly so someone ended up scribbling their name at the very very bottom of the sheet jumping in front of everyone. Had they looked at the next page, they would have seen these people came AFTER those already waiting. On top of that, we ended up waiting at our table to order for about another 15-20min after our waitress had said she would be right back to take our order. This was way after she said she was going to take an order for a table of 7. We were a table of 2 and a child who didn't even order food. One would think you'd put that shorter order in first. At least this is how other wait staff at other places have always done it. The food came out quickly after ordering luckily. I did hear our waitress try to say they were short on cook staff so the wait was long. The problem is not your kitchen, it is the people outside of it. On top that, she tried to charge us $5 for water that apparently she thought was juice. Unfortunately, we gave a bad tip which is never something we do. What they got, was what they gave. We won't be coming back again. I'm not a fan of empty apologies and excuses. If you are, then sure try them out but the food won't even be that great. read more

Happy Days Diner and truck stop counters! We enjoy breakfast at Fallbrook Cafe. It is the perfect little stop when you want some good old fashion diner food. They serve large but not to large portions here. The food is very good and the service is great to go along with it. It is a nice treat once in awhile to just relax and feel you are somewhere else in time for a few moments while eating out. We sit at the counter sometimes just to see how the girls all buzz around the place to get the food out. I grew up in Fallbrook and decided to come back after a few years to revisit this place I thought was "great" as a kid. Service is horrible but of course the locals don't agree because it's literally the only breakfast place in town. Took 45 minutes to get our food after waiting 20 to be sat. Came here for a lunch with my coworker. It was a rainy day so I was craving some chili. Chili was already made and they just put it in a bowl for me when I got there along with some cheese, onions and a side of sour cream. This is one of the better chili soups I've had in a while and it hit the spot. Nice little place in Fallbrook. I've heard from many coworkers that live nearby that this place is good. Their menus look a little outdated and are kind of falling apart. I would suggest making new (clean) ones and have a paper menu for people to take home. A pretty good olden-tymey diner. I guess my Uncle would call this place a "local choke-n-puke". Met with a friend here for breakfast, I found the portions generous for the cost, coffee yummy and plentiful. Wifey had cinnamon pancakes which she happily commented were not overly sweet, just right. I had poached eggs and hash browns, all was pretty good. All told, it was around $10/person with coffee. We came here for breakfast for our first time not too long ago with my wife and was disappointed. I got the hobo omlette which was kind of bland the thing that saved it was the cheese which added some type of flavor.. her french toast was burnt and luckily for me it tasted like my middle school / high school breakfast trays so I was able to finish the food hahaha.. The customer service was kind of "uninviting" in some way the vibe of the waitress was like she wasnt having much of a good day? Other than that the portions they give are great! The food is always consistent here, and I appreciate the menu. The staff is generally courteous, and does their best to be helpful. I will say the atmosphere can seem a bit crowded at times, but maybe that's just because they have low ceilings and I'm talk. The burger buns can be tough, but the fries are super excellent. A great alternative to the Denny's in town if you want to avoid bland pre packaged chain food. read more
