Falkner has recently built a brand new tasting room with a beautiful balcony overlooking their vines and a lovely shaded grassy area perfect for a morning or afternoon tasting in the breeze. Jim, who helped us, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We were able to sit on the balcony to enjoy our tasting. The Syrah, the Riesling and the Bordeaux were our favorites, but all the wines were tasty. Their wine club is also an amazing deal with lots of excellent perks. We had such an excellent experience we came back the next day (thanks Steve for your friendly service). I can't recommend a visit enough! read more

The tasting room had a nice view, live music, and a decent breeze, even in the summer heat. The wine was good! I generally prefer reds but I think they produce better whites. We also got lunch at the restaurant across the street. It was expensive but good! I got the crab cake sandwich and was very happy with it. My husband got pasta with seafood and was a little less impressed; the scallops were over cooked and the sauce was pretty greasy. Overall a good spot for enjoying the wine and the view read more

This was the first winery we stopped into when we got to Temecula - we were taken to the cellar where the tastings happen and were slightly disappointed because the weather was so stunning outside and their property is gorgeous! We shared a flight of wine among the 4 of us as we wanted to take it a bit easy to start the day. I really liked their mule wine, it wasn't one that we ordered but we were offered a small taster! I loved that I was able to bring a glass back home as a souvenir - that made this one special! read more

My husband and I decided to have lunch here to celebrate our 16 year wedding anniversary. We selected Falkner because it has a nice view and because we wanted to try a new winery we had never been to. By all accounts it should've been a nice lunch, however our waitress made our experience less than stellar. We arrived at 2:20 PM, when we walked in the hostess greeted us warmly, but the waitress standing next to her looked at her watch and rolled her eyes as if she were annoyed that we were getting there late (apparently they close at 3:00 PM). The hostess walked us to our table, asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and we told her it was our anniversary. Our waitress comes by and with an annoyed look asked if we wanted anything to drink. She came back a few minutes later and took our order. Never ever made an attempt to talk to us. The restaurant might have been understaffed, but it doesn't take much more effort to smile. Every time she approached us she made us feel like we were the ones imposing on her. She made us feel unwelcome the entire time. She provided poor service and made our anniversary experience rather unpleasant. We could've gone anywhere, but chose to spend our special day at Falkner. The food was just ok - nothing special. We then left and went to Peltzer and the service was top notch. The staff were friendly and although very busy, took the time to explain their different wines without making us feel like we were bothering them. We joked that we should've just had our anniversary lunch there at Peltzer, with a wood oven pizza and wine instead of spending $100 on a lunch that was just so so and made us feel bad for being there. read more

We came here with a wine tour. The first impression was less than desirable , there was white tents outside , the wine bar was under a white tent too. The wine was hot. They had no ice . It was 100 degrees , the cellar was closed to the public. We decided to go get something at the restaurant as we had an hour there . In the restaurant we were never greeted , we sat down ans the "manager " I'm not sure if she was the manager but it seemed so, was SO SO SO RUDE . The server was great , he was trying to accommodate . This lady was so rude she needs to be in a different industry not in charge of a restaurant. read more

Beautiful! This winery seems to be an unknown GEM in the Temecula Wine Country. The outdoor area is gorgeous and so inviting with stunning views all around. The newly remodeled winery is clean and bright - nice place to sip wine and watch the sun go down. But even better than its views and decor . . . the wine is so good, really good! I would say, "this is my favorite" then the next taste would become my favorite . . . can't say enough good things about the award winning wines! We were greeted at the entrance by a very nice man, Jim. Jim walked us through to the tasting area and he stayed with us the entire time, explaining each wine and talking to us as if we had been friends forever. What a great experience. This is my favorite winery! The wine is perfect, the staff is awesome, the membership is unbeatable and my husband and I love the beautiful, laidback atmosphere. We have been members for many years now. The red wines are my favorite, but it doesn't matter what kind of wine you like, they have something for everyone! My husband isn't a wine drinker, but he does enjoy there white wines and my sister loves the sweet ones. We attended the member wine and food pairing luncheon yesterday. The library wines they served where wonderful! And I can't say enough about the food, the soup was delicious, the steak was perfectly cooked, the lobster was succulent and dessert was the perfect end. Came to this winery for my cousin's daughter's wedding. I have to say that it was a very beautiful wedding. The place they have for the venue is very beautiful is it surrounded with vineyards and arches made a vines. It also faces the sunset so if you're getting married in the evening you will have the sense that as your background. It's a little walk to get to where the wedding was held but nothing that anyone couldn't do.The reception area was beautiful and very spacious and holds a great deal of people. Also have wine tasting there during the day which I didn't have a chance to do but I have to try next time. All in all the wedding was great the service was amazing in the winery was beautiful. read more

I had such a great experience at Faulkner Winery. I drove down from LA to visit friends and spend Sunday doing winery tours. I must admit that this is the best guest experience I've had in Temecula. Glen & Jourdan are extremely welcoming and charismatic, made great recommendations, and made sure that we really enjoyed our time there. They continued to ensure they engaged with everyone in our group while still helping the other guests. I really liked the interior design because it's modern and the outdoor area. Review #1000. I figured I'd make it a special one. We got married at Falkner Winery on July 10, 2016. Sometime last year, we wanted to get married in the Temecula wine country, so we looked at 4 or 5 different wineries along Rancho California Road. Falkner was by far the best. Our second choice was Ponte Winery. CEREMONY SITE: Falkner offers a very beautiful ceremony site that overlooks the Temecula wine country from on top of a hill. The guests loved the walk down to the ceremony site from the barrel room through the archways. If you read through their brochure, there are two offerings. One package pairs the daily tasting room with the yard space. The second package pairs the hillside ceremony site with the Pinnacle Room. I believe the second one costs slightly more, but that's the one you should go for. PINNACLE ROOM: We really like the view from the Pinnacle Room. The restaurant has a very spacious but cozy feel to it and it definitely makes your reception feel more personal. The chairs in the Pinnacle Room were decent enough, so we felt no need to upgrade to the Chiavari chairs (which I think look nicer in still pictures). The DJ did all our uplighting on the day-of. TASTING: A few months before the wedding, we came in for a scheduled food tasting with Chef Gianni. We picked some items beforehand and he brought them out one-by-one. It did not go so well. At one point, he brought out the center cut sirloin. I asked him how it was cooked, and he said he didn't know. The fact that he did not know how it should've been cooked alarmed me. He said it was made by another line cook. Even so, I thought that the head chef would know what to expect. We cut it open and it was medium in doneness. The flavor was okay, but the texture wasn't great. We felt that the center cut sirloin was tough and rubbery, so we chose to upgrade to the flat iron steak. We did a follow-up food tasting for the two steaks again, and definitely the flat iron was the winner. This contrasted heavily to the salmon, which was cooked perfectly for our tasting. I felt like we were getting mixed messages from the chef's food, so I was basically hoping that on the day-of, our chef's good side would show up. The other hors d'oeuvres and accompaniments were fairly standard. The spinach salad was bad - it looked like it was just dumped out of a Costco spring mix box. The other bad item was the soy glazed snap peas - they didn't even have the branchy ends of the peas plucked off. I picked some of the riskier items on their menu to try at the tasting, but in the end, stuck with the conservative choices: (Appetizer) Grilled wedge salad (Main) Flat-iron steak with red wine demi-glace / Salmon with salsa (can't remember fancy name) Grilled broccolini Roasted potatoes FOOD: I've heard mixed things about the food at Falkner Winery over the course of the months, but both times we ate lunch there, we had outstanding food. On the day of, the chef decided to show up and we were very happy with the quality of the food that we got. After the wedding, I grilled our close friends and family as to their opinion, and I could not solicit a negative response. I didn't hear any complaints around the hors d'oeuvres served during cocktail hour. The actual dinner plate was of decent quality, but maybe could be a larger portion size. I didn't see many plates going back to the kitchen with food on them, so maybe an indication that the guests weren't overly stuffed. We inquired as to the portion sizes beforehand - 6 oz. is the standard protein portion. WINE: We believe the wine is average to decent at Falkner Winery. For the day of, Falkner gave us a choice of 4 wines to serve, along with 2 beers. No hard alcohol allowed as that is limited by their business license. Note that Falkner will provide a list of the wines they have available, which isn't "everything" on their menu, just a select subset. STAFF: Loretta Falkner and her team were amazing. Loretta was in constant contact with us the entire time leading up to our wedding. Any details with pricing could be worked out. When compared to Ponte, which was a very corporation-like, yes/no, this-is-our-policy structure, Falkner was extremely compromising. The fact that we could directly communicate with Loretta over decisions made things very easy. Our day-of-coordinator was Krissy, and even though she had notes scribbled everywhere keeping track of what seemed to be fifty weddings at once, she was extremely knowledgable. I don't think there is a wedding miscue that Krissy hasn't seen as she seemed prepared for everything. She was also a joy to work with, and was certainly one of the most memorable people at Falkner Winery. The rest of the staff was great - I didn't even have a chance to thank them. OTHER: Our vendors found Falkner very easy to work with. Some of them had been there before, others hadn't. But I heard no complaints from the vendors around the venue being difficult to work with. read more

Went to Falkner with my wife on New Year's Eve and had a great tasting experience. We enjoyed talking and learning about their wines with Jim, who was very knowledgeable and personable, as well as the history of the Temecula wine region overall as first timers to the Temecula wine valley. It was exactly the local wine tasting experience I was looking for as it has been minute since I used to visit Sonoma and Napa. (I can't say the same for the first place we went where they gave us a menu, gave us out flight and sent us on our way to the nearby tables.). They have a beautiful tasting room and deck with great views. We enjoyed the wines and with Jim telling us about the wine club without being pushy or salesy, we ended up becoming members and bought three bottles. Will recommend Falkner to any friends planning to go wine tasting. read more

On 4-22-2023 I attended a wedding for my stepdaughter, that should've been magical and unforgettable, altho the staff was absolutely, very judgemental and racist towards the entire party. They destroyed materials that the family brought to set up for the dessert table, and when asked about the materials was told very rudely that they didn't have them. They didn't replenish the dessert table as promised in their contract, silver ware was dirty and unsanitary, when asked for clean utensils they laughed and walked away. The coordinator was no where to be found for majority of the event and evenning then went and blamed it on the DJ, who was a family friend to the bride. Lastly they have pest named Mr. RAT that enjoys crashing the event and feasting other dessert table. I would not recoend this venue to.anyone unless the staff completely replaced. The food and view were the only happy moments of the night. This is why it recieved 2 stars. read more

We hired a limo, and the second stop was Falkner. Our driver allowed us to to finish our wine which made us 10 minutes late to Falkner. They were not busy and our group of 20 was not only tasting but also buying bottled. Because were were late the refused to serve us. Btw - our group was almost entirely POC LGBTQ and there were Trump flags next to the winery. We didn't get to taste any wine, but the lack of any accommodation since we were part of a tour is unacceptable. read more

Good wine, especially the Cabernet Sauvignon - IMHO. Lunch here was great! Had the Brussel sprouts ( just a hair too much salt, for my taste) but huge serving and wonderful flavor.
