The menu displays one price, but there is no clear and conspicuous disclosure of this mandatory 3.5% fee on the posted menu or in the ordering area. The fee appears only when the customer receives the final bill/receipt. Virginia Code § 59.1-608 requires businesses displaying a price to clearly and conspicuously display the total price, including mandatory fees or surcharges. Virginia law specifically defines mandatory fees as additional charges that must be paid to purchase the advertised goods or services. I have photographs of the posted menu and ordering area, as well as my receipt showing the additional 3.5% charge. There's tzatziki was just so good and authentic tasting. I love the mission that this restaurant stands for and the support they provide to nonprofits. Regarding Service, the team is always prompt and pleasant. I will say if you are ordering at the restaurant to go, it may be best to order ahead since often it can take up to 20 to 30 minutes (from my experience) to get your food. Typically the store space is on the smaller side, so while you can eat in, I typically just take it to go for convenience reasons. I highly recommend this spot, not just for the food, but for the mission.

Although there isn't ample sitting inside the restaurant, it's more of a grab and go kind of establishment, there are 3-4 tables along the side you can sit if in a pinch. For the busy moms looking for a bite while strolling through old town, the mockingbird stroller (which is so wide for a single stroller) fits through the door and the narrow walk up to the ordering counter. I wouldn't park the stroller inside if you intend to dine in though as it'll block the path for other patrons. Overall, good food and warm service ! The best part? We got a free shawarma box because it was Mother's Day and my kid was so stinking cute smiling at the staff!

If there are a few people they can manage, but if several groups come in, despite having about four staff they turn out sandwiches once every few minutes. It took over 15 minutes for me to get a simple falafel sandwich. They don't have a system to tag and manage orders with the numbers and they're not clearly calling out numbers so you can miss it. As I waited for my sandwich a guy wrapped another sandwich then left it on the counter touching a dirty wadded up napkin--yuck! Seating is all I raise, a few standing tables and a few tables with seats. Beverages like a small can of san pellegrino were about $4 so that offsets the inexpensive falafel. There's definitely better falafel in southeast.

It's accessible with plenty of parking nearby, including several disabled parking spots right out front, is absolutely beautiful inside with stunning black-and-white tiles adorning the counter (where you can order -- although there is also a screen-type ordering system in the entryway, as well) wall, enticing photos of all the important things in life -- those being fresh figs, olives, spices, and unfiltered coffee being poured, all along the wall above the tables with most comfortable seating! There are Turkish plates and copper pots hung above, as well, to give a splendid feeling of how food can be heartily prepared and beautifully served -- and beautifully served it is here! The caffeine-free mint tea comes in a gorgeous metal pot and is drunk from a glass glass (meaning a glass made of glass, not ceramic) with eye-catching decorations that will help to bring you into the spirit of the meal you are about to have .... The Quinoa Tabouli Salad with Falafel is spectacular! It's standout amazing, delicious, refreshingly oh-so-fresh, crispy, crunchy, yummy -- how many good-to-great things can I say about it? If I keep complimenting it as much as it deserves, you might get bored, ha ha! You might think that I'm exaggerating. I'm not. Of course, it's possible I'm biased and have tastes that just happen to align with this particular falafel spot's way of preparing things -- but I think not! I think this is objectively over-the-top in greatness! The District Salad is equally splendiferous and worth your time to indulge in savouring every bite. There are so many great-looking things here I can't wait to try! I must taste the Shorbat Adas (puréed lentil soup), (non-quinoa) Tabouli, Toom, and many other things here! The variety is very wowing! Most places just don't give you this variety in terms of various dishes or the variety within each dish that this place does -- and that contributes greatly to not only your appetite but also your health. So much care is clearly put into everything here from the décor to the drinks to the hospitality. It's really like a mini, super-tasty trip to the Near East -- and welcomes everyone equally. I'm so glad I stopped in! I can't wait to go back! Highly recommended! Very much deserving of an absolute, all-around Yay! :-D (By the way, from a not-falafel fan I know: 'You know I'm not a fan of falafel, but that was really good -- everything! The fries were very fried, and the thin cut falafel was interesting but didn't persuade me to give up the usual ball shape. I suspect they do this routinely, with enough orders this money adds up. I have never, not once, received a sandwich from this company, ordered either in-person or on-line, in which they have added the extra hummus for which I paid. It's really weird and again it smacks of theft. In the past I have ordered from the Potomac Ave store and they, too, have skipped the hummus on the sandwich. I also requested an order of hummus and pita. The pita is stale. And No, I'm not merely frustrated - it is actually stale. The hummus is cool, yet it runs like water. wt heck, seriously. The sandwich itself was meek and tired looking compared to the sandwich I had at Mamouns in NYC over the weekend. What a waste of money this place is.
