Overcooked, overfryed pita chips with too much za'atar spices. This batch was awful
Nina R.

I'm absolutely addicted to this place. I come here on average once per week or once every other week. They make the salad with a bowl of fresh baby spinach greens and add all the toppings like shredded red cabbage, pickled cucumber, tabouli, freshly diced tomato and cucumber, a few falafel, and a few fried pita chips. Sauces are on the counter so you can help yourself to a few. Delish, Middle-Eastern flavors. This is a small, takeout only place. The ventilation is poor inside. It's always quite smoky inside especially when they're busy. There are a few tables to sit and eat outside. Prices are reasonable for healthy eats. Highly recommend.

Ordered ahead because they are so busy in the evenings. I love the falafel bowl & Za'atar fries! I do wish they would add a falafel rice bowl for those of us who are gluten free. Also you can put as much sauce as you want on your bowl which I can appreciate.

Receipt from order

Recently came back after a long time, and noticed price increase which i understand but what i dont get is what is the "process fee" that was added to my order with out my knowledge. None of the staff even knew about it till I showed them. This was a huge turn off considering they already added a meals tax from the state.

You won't find a better bang for the buck in the Mosaic District. The falafel sandwich is FIVE DOLLARS. The bowl, $7. Chicken schwarma, $10. Again, great prices for Mosaic. I've had falafel all over the area (and world), and this is pretty solid. I tried all their sauces, and they range from authentic and decent to experimental and delicious. Love that a place like this is in Mosaic! Don't get me wrong; I love several other restaurants in Mosaic, but sometimes, it's nice to save a few dollars and still eat satisfying, mostly healthy, authentic-ish food. Five. Dollar. Falafel. Sandwich.

The yummiest falafel sandwich for $5!

Ummm...their huge falafel sandwich is only $5! Run, don't walk to this place. Super clean, fresh and delicious!

No more trips to Georgetown to get my fix. You need to study the sauces and try multiple options. They're crucial to a good meal. I had a falafel bowl which came with a good amount of salad. Happy workers, which is always refreshing. It's piping hot inside so grab your food and move on! Lots of spots to sit in mosaic.

Definitely great pricing for what you get. The falafel, I wasn't too impressed. However, the chicken sharwarma was definitely worth the $10. Will fill you up!

Everything is good, falafel, shawarma, fries, sauce! Tastes fresh and is made fast. Plus it's Palestinian owned and they donate to refugees

Here's why: - Quality: every item was fresh, and the falafel was not dry! I usually don't opt for falafel bc of how dry it is, but this one really wasn't! It was filling but moist and delicious. Also, the veggies and sauces paired well to give it flavor and texture. Again, usually not a fan of falafel, but I was this time. - Service: Food was pretty quick and the staff were really kind considering how busy the shop was. It took about 10 minutes to get the food. - Ambiance: This is a grab and go place. They have some high tables to quickly scarf down your meal or package your to go bag, but I suggest walking around Georgetown area to eat your food elsewhere. I will absolutely visit again and bring vegetarian friends. Such a bang for your buck!

I feel bad writing this but I believe Writing Authentic and honest review may inspire the owner to level up his food . That said, the food quality did not meet expectations. The falafel was overly firm and dry. The Greek salad lacked freshness--the lettuce appeared past its prime, and the tomatoes were soft and aging. Overall, it felt like a basic tossed salad with feta rather than a well-composed dish. The hummus had a smooth texture, but the flavor suggested a blended oil rather than a clean extra virgin olive oil profile. The pita was the strongest element of the meal--fresh and well prepared. Additionally, the use of styrofoam containers detracted from the overall experience. In summary, while the service at closing was considerate, the food did not reflect what I would consider high-quality or authentic Greek cuisine. .

I looked up at the menu and to my surprise the prices of the food options were quite affordable. I opted to go with the falafel bowl and m'lady went with the falafel sandwich, which were both under $10 each! We also split a healthy sized bag of zaatar fries and I could not resist getting their baklava. The food service was very quick and the employees were very friendly. After obtaining our food we went to their outdoor eating area where we stood and prepared ourselves to feast. Both the falafel sandwich and bowl were filled to the brim with falafel, cabbage, pickles, tomatoes, cucumber, and a substantial serving of tahini. We also had the privilege of being able to help ourselves to extra sauces, which included garlic sauce (toum), red sauce, white sauce, habibi sauce, and more tahini. After taking a few bites of the food, we knew we had made a great decision coming to this location. Dipping the zaatar fries into the garlic sauce became second nature, as the combination was truly delicious. The cherry on the top was their baklava that came in a small, sliding cardboard box. The baklava was not overly sweet and perfectly complemented the savory falafel dishes. I highly recommend coming here for an affordable and delicious meal!

It's accessible with plenty of parking nearby, including several disabled parking spots right out front, is absolutely beautiful inside with stunning black-and-white tiles adorning the counter (where you can order -- although there is also a screen-type ordering system in the entryway, as well) wall, enticing photos of all the important things in life -- those being fresh figs, olives, spices, and unfiltered coffee being poured, all along the wall above the tables with most comfortable seating! There are Turkish plates and copper pots hung above, as well, to give a splendid feeling of how food can be heartily prepared and beautifully served -- and beautifully served it is here! The caffeine-free mint tea comes in a gorgeous metal pot and is drunk from a glass glass (meaning a glass made of glass, not ceramic) with eye-catching decorations that will help to bring you into the spirit of the meal you are about to have .... The Quinoa Tabouli Salad with Falafel is spectacular! It's standout amazing, delicious, refreshingly oh-so-fresh, crispy, crunchy, yummy -- how many good-to-great things can I say about it? If I keep complimenting it as much as it deserves, you might get bored, ha ha! You might think that I'm exaggerating. I'm not. Of course, it's possible I'm biased and have tastes that just happen to align with this particular falafel spot's way of preparing things -- but I think not! I think this is objectively over-the-top in greatness! The District Salad is equally splendiferous and worth your time to indulge in savouring every bite. There are so many great-looking things here I can't wait to try! I must taste the Shorbat Adas (puréed lentil soup), (non-quinoa) Tabouli, Toom, and many other things here! The variety is very wowing! Most places just don't give you this variety in terms of various dishes or the variety within each dish that this place does -- and that contributes greatly to not only your appetite but also your health. So much care is clearly put into everything here from the décor to the drinks to the hospitality. It's really like a mini, super-tasty trip to the Near East -- and welcomes everyone equally. I'm so glad I stopped in! I can't wait to go back! Highly recommended! Very much deserving of an absolute, all-around Yay! :-D (By the way, from a not-falafel fan I know: 'You know I'm not a fan of falafel, but that was really good -- everything! We need not ever go back to the other place -- even if it's free!' What better endorsement could there be?)

In the articulated thoughts of Loki, "to become a Goddess in fact as well as name?" Falafel Inc., launched in Georgetown in 2017 by a Palestinian-American, Ahmad Ashkar, began with a similar thought-provoking premise: What if he could honor his mother's falafel, his heritage, and make a difference on a worldwide scale in the refugee crisis, not just with donations to programs like World Food Programme but with employment and even franchisee-ownership opportunities for refugees? In the not-so-halcyon days of 2024, a franchise location opened up just off of Baltimore Avenue in College Park, Maryland; and the restaurant's trademarked, delicious and affordable schwarma, pita, and, verily (to invoke Thor-speak), falafel became a reality for our own Terrapin-populated community (at least during the fall and spring).
