They could add some ventilation to the private room as it was getting sweltering with dozens of sub 2 footers and their frenetic parents. Definitely built with keen eye to what works with the competition and demand. Play area is not extensive nor extravagant- so if it's an ultimate experience for toddlers n minis- elementary age- you are looking for, there are better. For a low key, baby's first, something with a bit of everything including decor appeal and good service- this may be it. read more

The place can be very crowded on the weekend and seating can be limited so if you're not ok with sharing a table with strangers you may want to visit at quieter times. My daughter loves it she's 6 and friendly so she is big enough to navigate the play area without me and easily finds other kids to play with. One of the better play gyms in the neighborhood. However, I don't think this place has a age limit, hence, you'll see alot of big kids (some are over 10 years old) running around and screaming loudly with no adult's supervision. My toddler really likes this place, but she couldn't really enjoy it because I had to constantly picking her up to avoid being crushed by the big kids. One of my favorite places to take my son on our play date. It's slightly more expensive than other play areas I've been to, but the staff here are so friendly and it's so clean here! The bathroom is always clean even when it's super busy here! They have an entire room dedicated for cooking, kitchen play and grocery shopping (including shopping carts)! This is a great place to go if you want really bland Thai iced tea and freezer burnt ice cream. I wasted $7 on these things today. Yuck. There's no warmth or friendliness from the food staff, but there IS a tip jar so that you can show them gratitude for throwing your order at you without ever looking you in the eye or speaking to you. It's a great place especially during COVID not a lot of places are open and they seem to be taking precaution checking for fever. I wish they would have everyone hand sanitize before coming in. Big issue it's freezing inside! Kids have to play with their jackets on. My wife asked kindly multiple times to raise the heat and they didn't. A lot of people were complaining about it. Kids were sneezing and runny noses due to it being so cold! As a father you want the best for your child but it's snowing outside I didn't think I would be this cold inside! Don't think I will return back unless they make it hotter inside. Also they play really extremely not kid friendly music! I was shocked by the words on the songs they were playing loud! the uncensored version of every radio song and more. My kids come to play not to hear curse words! Fairytale Island consistently gets a 5-star rating and it's well deserved. I booked a private birthday party for my 4-year old and Cathy the owner made sure everything was perfect. When I had questions prior to the party and messaged them on Facebook, I always got a quick reply back, even after business hours. The play area is spacious, clean and a lot of fun for the kids. The party room was also very comfortable and roomy. And the staff were very attentive and helpful. I had food catered from Firefly and ordered pizzas, a pasta and riceballs. Everything was hot and delicious. My family and our guests all left the party very happy. I couldn't ask for a better birthday party for my daughter. read more

The place itself is nice, play area is good and it's clean. The low rating is for the service for a birthday party. They have no clue what they're doing it how to organize and run the party, from not putting out place settings for the the kids to not cleaning up on time then slowly, to bringing cake, setting up, cutting etc. They didn't have water readily available even though kids are running around. Hopefully this is growing pains and they get better but definitely need to improve on the running of a party. read more

Very cute clean place for my four year old. Came on a Friday @11 now 1 and she doesn't want to leave . Fun ambiance lots to play with kept clean. Didn't order food from the cafe but, seems ok price for a place like this McDonald's is next door and food all around if you want to grab a bite after instead. Paid $18 entry and $1.50 for socks since she's wearing sandals. Think $12-15 would be a fair price. Bday packages are pricey. read more

The space itself is nice. Little party room, jungle gym, ball pit, slides, sand pit, etc... perfectly nice place to bring your kid when it's cold out, but good god, it is FREEZING in there. The space must have had 100 people in it, the kids running around, three wall mounted split HVAC units running, plus a kitchen giving off heat, and I still had to put a coat on just to watch my kid. I suppose it's nicer in nicer weather...but then we'll just go to a playground. read more

Came here for a friend's kids birthday party. It's not the biggest place, but then you are in NYC. There are a lot of difference play areas for the kids. Staff were friendly. I like the decor of the place as well. Will likely consider this place for my kids future birthday parties. read more

Great indoor play space for toddlers. It's clean, well managed and there's a nice variety of different toys and activities, including a trampoline, tricycles/push cars, seesaws, climbing wall (no harness), ball pit, sandpit (with a much cleaner, seed-like sand alternative), tunnels, and a toy food area with toy kitchens, fridges, stoves, food cart/stand, grocery shelves, shopping carts, etc. They also serve small cafe items and ice cream. I found this place via KidPass and took my one-year old here for a visit on a weekday at around noon. It was lively, with about 10 or so other kids that were at least 18 months and up. There's a lot to do here from a seed pit, to a huge jungle gym shaped like an airplane and a train, a large ball pit, slides, a mini-trampoline, rock-climbing wall, various cars and rocking horses, and a smaller room in the back as a dedicated kitchen play area. My one-year old had a great time - what sealed the deal for me was when she fell asleep in the oversized swinging chair! There's ample seating and food and drinks sold separately. Their sweet potato fries are banging! Can't wait to take my daughter back for some more playtime and seeing how she interacts and plays in the space as she grows older and becomes more mobile. read more

It was very clean space where my girls could crawl and run around. A lady kept on picking up toys and cleaning so that was nice to see. She was also nice enough to let the crazy wild kids know that they need to calm down and watch for smaller kids as their onmoms sipped coffee and didn't care that their kids were pushing all the little kids over. This has to be the best play place in the area. The place is always clean, there's plenty of fun for the children also great tasting snacks like their pop corn nuggets and fries, which I highly recommend. The best part is the customer service. The owner Kathy is such a sweet heart and knows how to take great care of people. It's clean, well lit and well equipped for the most part. My three year old loves it. The most glaring downside however, is the trampoline. It's small and enclosed and properly used, it's amazingly fun. But even a small trampoline has a potential for injury, especially with younger kids. They're jumping higher than they're used to and they're landing with greater force. If there's a large yoga/stability ball in the way, their bodies can get twisted on the way down or they can ricochet into another kid or support post. Alternatively, if instead of hitting the trampoline, they land on a hard plastic object such as a kiddie grocery basket or a kiddie vacuum cleaner, they can also get hurt. Smaller items can be tossed in the air and whack kids in the face. Kids are constantly bringing stuff into the trampoline. Parents seem ignorant of the potential danger. And staff does nothing. Won't be going there again. read more

Great place except for the $10 credit card minimum. I walked in with my kids, paid $36 and then let them loose. Five minutes later I tried to buy a coffee and some food for $6 but didn't have cash on me. I offered to pay another 3% or 5% extra to "cover" her fee but she held firm. I wound up just paying the $10 and taking $6 of food. Lousy customer experience and no manager around who could make an exception. read more

The play space itself is pretty nice, with equipment that is a different from many other places. It's clean and well cared for. The staff is attentive and pleasant. My reason for three stars is their "no leave and return policy." I recently brought two children at a cost of $18.00 each. They played for awhile and then got hungry for Mc Donald's which they had seen as we walked by. I was told we could not re-enter unless we paid again. In my opinion, making $36.00 so two children can play for a few hours is profit enough. I understand they have snacks, but it is not McD's, and sometimes that's what the kids want! read more

Play area is medium size but very expensive $18.00 entrance. It has one long climbing crawl space area. It is small enough so you can see your child at all times. Probably more suitable for younger kids, 2-7. It is clean and very well light. They sell drinks & and snacks for the adults while waiting. read more

We just had our son's 4th birthday party at Fairytale Island and it couldn't have been better. We had about 20 kids for a private party starting at 5pm on a Saturday. Despite a party in the morning the same day and open play beforehand, the place was super clean and organized for our party. They were just finishing mopping the floors when we arrived. The kids all had a blast! They loved the playspace and all the toys/activities and played together very well even though they didn't all know each other. The customer service was very good - there were several staff members on hand and at least a couple in the playspace itself at all times watching over the kids without at all being interfering. The party had a real laid-back, intimate feeling. The party room is super cute, the party bags had fun stuff in them and I loved that the kids were able to go back and play in between pizza and cake and even for a little while after the cake. I highly recommend as a party option. read more
