However, when I called on the morning of the appointment to confirm, I was met with a frustrating experience. A technician answered the phone and stated that he had no knowledge of who had committed to the specific timing of the appointment. He added that he would come over whenever he was available within the designated service window. The technician's tone was dismissive, indifferent, and unprofessional. Due to this poor communication and lack of customer service, I canceled the appointment and scheduled the service with a different company. It is strongly recommended that the company invest in training its staff on effective communication and customer service skills to avoid situations like this in the future.

Replacing it was challenging ( we visited and obtained estimates from several other places) but Lawn and Leisure of 103 Douglas Court, Sterling, Va brought us warm joy with a new Regency Gas Fireplace. T.C. was our salesman and helped by personalizing the entire process. We were given many pointers that led to success. Our fireplace was delivered in ten days while other stores said it would take several months to make delivery. T.C. recommended Dulles Solid Construction, owned by Gary Pulino as the contractor and he and his team exceeded all expectations. No detail was ovelooked and recommendations were spot on! This made the many decisions of mantel, surround stone, hearthstone and fireplace height easier. Since our gas fireplace was direct vent, siding had to be removed outside and all inside bricks removed with skill. The finished product is beautiful and all stonework installed to perfection. Recently we had a service guy out regarding our washing machine. As I told the lady when I called to make the appointment, since day one we have done *all* the things we're supposed to for a front load washer - monthly cleaning with Affresh and wiping down the door, seal, detergent tray etc. We even opened up the machine to clean the drain pump. Yet it still smells. She said she'll send a service guy out to look at it and fix it. To start with the guy shows up and parks the truck half in and half out of our driveway despite there being a spot RIGHT there in front of the house. It would have taken him literally an extra 10 steps to do the right thing. As I answer the door I see the mail carrier pulling up and having to get out of the truck to deliver the mail. I went out to greet him and get the mail, apologizing on behalf of the Sterling Appliance knucklehead's parking. The service guy just stands there and says nothing to either the mail carrier or me. Lazy and thoughtless. Then he goes in the laundry room and after a very quick look at it, proceeds to tell me that this machine has clearly been cleaned well and they can't guarantee smells will be gone or won't return, only that he can charge me north of $800 to replace several parts today to see if that will help. I ask instead about replacing the drain pipe since that is the one thing we hadn't tried yet. He tells me he can't do that today because it would (suddenly) take a second person to pull the machine away from the wall to access the back of it. (Never mind we did that with one person to check the drain pump.) So, I'd need to pay for today, re-schedule and pay for labor for two people to come back out and that alone would run around $400 plus parts. Instead, I paid their service call fee and will not use them again because of this lazy, lazy guy. What a waste of time and money. Sterling Appliance, certainly you can hire better employees than this ridiculously lazy clown!

(Not to mention he was very kind to my two autistic teen boys who were checking out every vacuum on display!) After a thorough inspection, we decided that after 5 years of cleaning and maintenance on the Dyson vacuums, it was prudent to purchase a new German-made Sebo vacuum because it came with a 7-year warranty (that was extended by this store to 10 years because they stand by their products, service, and customers) and it was built to last like the vacuums of yesteryear. The Dysons are made to last 2-3 years with built-in obsolescence, so you'll find yourself dropping $350-400 plus annual maintenance. After making the decision to purchase, the gentleman assembled the new vacuum for us, thoroughly demonstrated how to use it and the features/attachments, and gave us extra canister bags for free. He also offered to clean our old Dyson (that worked somewhat intermittently that we will use as a "spare" in the basement) for free since we made the purchase of a new vacuum. When I returned to the store two weeks later to pick up the cleaned Dyson, he remembered me and asked how my boys were doing, and he showed me how he discovered a crack in the hose and just went ahead and replaced it with a part from another Dyson vacuum someone discarded. Again, for free! I've come to this store for cleaning/repair/maintenance on my vacuums for many years now, and they have always been fair and honest and service has been impeccable. They are very knowledgeable in all the name brands and vacuum types, and can definitely steer you in the right direction of what vacuum will suit your household needs (e.g., good for allergies, pet hair, hardwoods, upholstery, etc.). Skeevy fast talking sales tactics reminencent of a back alley bazaars overseas becomes immediately apparent when you begin negotiations for precious metals. Owner refuses to accept payments via anything other than cash when purchasing gold. Rock bottom prices offered for what he called "junk gold" that was traded towards or sold but offers nice premiums over spot for items in inventory. Owner assisted in the removal of gems on jewelery prior to trade explaining they were not jewelers and damages may occur. The end result was twisted and mangled gold remnants and two broken/ cut half carat diamonds that were outright destroyed in the removal process. Upon seeing the mess now qualified as junk gold before me the pressures to end the transaction were priority. Pressure tactics attempted as a means to hurry purchase. Statements such as "I've sold 200 onces in the time this transaction has taken" were made and now recounting sends shivers up my spine. An utter and total missed opportunity for a repeat customer. Location: situated in the hustle and bustle of Vienna, accessing parking may be a slight issue during a visit however there may be openings in the rear of building. When leaving expect thick DMV traffic resulting in extended wait times and heightened risks of injury and accidents upon exiting.

I sometimes come here just to browse what kind of tools I may be missing. Rockler has everything from tiny dowels to thousands-of-dollar heavy equipment. What I usually come here for is to get hardwood and baltic ply. The hardwood selection here is great and it's reasonably priced. Most of them are S4S or S3S so in the worst case, I can use my table saw to rip the unfinished side. You only pay for what you need so you can have them cut a longer piece and not pay for the reminder! That's amazing. Note that they only cut longer wood to fit in your car. Rockler currently does not offer planing or joining services. The guy over there said they are looking into supporting such services soon but as of today, that's not an option. Rockler also has wood-turning and other general woodworking classes. There's a small classroom inside the store itself. If you need anything woodworking, Rockler is it!
