I visited the store today to buy a pillow for my husband. Upon entering the store, there are many beds, set up and ready to sample. Also, there is a good amount of pillows, also ready to sample. The employee working at factory mattress was very helpful and kind. He suggested pillows to my husband, based on the way my husband sleeps, and the bed he sleeps on. We found a bed similar to the one my husband sleeps on, and he started trying pillows. The employee was very kind in determining if each pillow was supporting his neck or putting stress on his neck. The end result was buying the perfect pillow . The pillow was a little pricey, $130 , a good sleep is certainly worth $130. I will definitely be back to the store. Should I have a need. I had an eerily similar encounter as reviewer Laura had. Pretty sure it was the same associate. Walked in, wasn't greeted until I walked up to the gentlemen behind the counter. Expressed how we were looking for a king mattress, and got arrogance in return. -"What kind of mattress do you like?...no that doesn't exist. Comfortable? Comfort is relative. Soft? Well that doesn't come "soft" haha. Plush. And plush is medium. You don't like that one? Well the others are more expensive. But you can try that one way over there." Constantly correcting my incorrect terminology and made me to believe I wasn't willing to spend good money. Sorry I'm no mattress expert. I'm glad you are. The staff all wore masks and were very professional the whole time, even during the pandemic. My husband is 6'11 and I am 5'11, and after sharing a queen sized bed for years that would creak with every movement and gave us zero support we decided it was high time for a king sized bed. We first went to Mattress Firm to look at their Memorial Day sales and while we thought the deals were pretty good, the salesman was overly pushy and aggressive. When we told him we needed to think about it he told us there was nothing to think about and practically started the paperwork. I don't like being told how to spend my money so we went elsewhere. Just across the street we found this gem and were so thankful we did. They had the exact same mattress for hundreds of dollars cheaper. I wish I could remember the name of the saleswoman who helped us because she was wonderful. She was tall and had long red hair and glasses. In no way was she pushy, she simply showed us beds she thought were what we needed and gave her honest opinion in terms of pricing. I also appreciated her taking the time to go through the fine print with us about warranties and exchange policies to make sure we truly knew what we were purchasing and that there were no surprises down the road. She told us the company is family owned and when they deliver your new bed they take your old one and donate it to a family in need. I really loved that. We both sleep so much better now that we have a wonderful mattress and I would send anyone I know who was looking here to support this business. read more

Best experience we have had in a sales environment, hands down! We were greeted by a very friendly man who said a sales rep would be with us shortly, but asked if he could help. My husband let him know our 5-yr old mattress from them is not supporting anymore and has body impressions. The guy told us about their warranty and how it works, what to do and how we can submit a claim for credit toward a new mattress with them. He even printed out our receipt from 5 years ago! Then the sales guy, Daniel was very friendly and not pushy at all. He didn't seem to mind that we obviously weren't going to purchase the same day due to filing warranty, etc. He was informative and friendly. Over all, a great experience and we remember why we return to them for our mattress needs, not the other places, which are too pushy and sales motivated. We will see how the return process works out.... we have to submit photos, etc. to see if mattress "qualifies" for return/exchange. We are super excited for a new, upgraded hybrid mattress from them in the near future. Update: warranty worked out and return process went smoothly. After doing extensive research and shop around other stores including this place (Factory Mattress @ University Oak). We have chosen this place n order our mattress right next day. Simply due to the great and knowledgeable customer service by Stephen Frey during the first visit and met Bonnie next day. My husband is surffering severe back pain due to oversea deployment injury and need certain firm mattress. Since this is our first time buying mattress, I was lost even with lot of research prepared. However, Stephen Frey was very patiently explaining different type of mattress and answered the 10 thousand questions I have tossed at him. We have found "the one". We purchased a top-end Sealy adjustable mattress, pillows and an adjustable base from Factory Mattress Texas in 2018. Less than 3 years later, the Sealy adjustable mattress is killing our backs. Factory Mattress touts a 10 year warranty on their mattresses, so we filled out all of the warranty paper work, submitted a copy of our original receipt, pictures of the mattress with specific photos showing a permanent dip in the middle. We consistently rotated the mattress as instructed and protected it as instructed. Guess what? Warranty claim was denied. FMT said it had to be a least a 1.5" dip. Our photo shows a 1.75" dip. Huh? Ours is .25" more of a dip than the factory standards warrant. So, even though our mattress dip is beyond 1.5", it appears we are stuck with a mattress that causes us to lose sleep and is so uncomfortable we wake up with sore backs. Skip Factory Mattress and shop somewhere else. The product we purchased is sub-standard and the guaranteed warranty is a bust. read more

I never realized that this place was a locally owned business. We needed to get a mattress today because we transitioned our son to a queen and didn't have the mattress yet. The sales rep, Brian, said they could ship it on Tuesday. When he saw our disappointment, he said he had his own personal queen that we could take that day and he would order another for himself. The staff here is very friendly and helpful, especially Marc Trivane. Earlier this year he helped us pick out an adjustable Temperpedic bed for my mom, who lives in assisted living. Because of Covid I wasn't able to see the bed in her room for a few months. When I did I realized it was set very high for her to get in & out of easily. I called the store to see if I could set an appt for one of their delivery men to come by and adjust it as I couldn't do it myself. I spoke with Marc on the phone and he remembered me! He said it was an easy fix and he would be glad to do it himself. Once we got approval from the facility Marc went over ON HIS DAY OFF to take care of it! Make sure you read the fine print about their return/exchange policy. You are only allowed ONE exchange and that ONE exchange will cost you a restocking fee and delivery charge. There is no way to find the right mattress by laying down on one in a show room for a few minutes. Now I am stuck with a $1500.00 mattress that kills my back. Only after this experience did I research their competitor, Mattress Firm's exchange policy. They allow you to exchange your mattress as many times as needed until you find the right one at no extra cost to you. I saved for months to buy this mattress and I am really upset. Update 1/10/13 I have changed my review from 1 star to 5 due to the fact that they agreed to exhange my mattress out again. I still do not agree with their return/exchange policy, however I am very happy that they agreed to help me find another mattress. So far so good, hopefully the third time is the charm. read more

We looked at several stores before returning to Factory Mattress on University Blvd. Their prices are very competitive and they have a broad selection to choose from. While these are attractive features, what impressed us was the level of customer care. Brian the manager, was very knowledgable and made us a fantastic offer. Went into Factory Mattress not knowing that much about mattresses and was so surprised to hear so much information. The sales people knew so much about each mattress we asked about. The best thing about them is that they were so "low pressure" through out the entire process. They didnt try and upsell us to a higher priced mattress as they were more concerned with us finding the mattress that fit our budget and our needs. After finally finding one, we wrote up the paper work and finished the transaction. When they delivered the mattress there was a small string that was frayed in the box spring. They left the box spring with us and replaced it with a brand new one the next day. The service and attention to detail was impressive. After sleeping on the mattress for three months we werent that excited about our choice in mattress. We went back to the store to see our options. They then informed us that we could do an exchange for a different mattress and get 100% credit of what we paid for the original and use that credit towards a new mattress! We upgraded mattresses and havent looked back. Factory Mattress has my business from this point forward and I will tell as many friends as I can about them. Good honest people. Fair prices.
