Good food, delicious coffee and a beautiful outdoor patio. It's a really nice spot to stop in for breakfast or brunch after a long walk

Okay came here upon a recommendation from a friend who used to live nearby and I'm so glad I went! Came here on a Saturday brunch during the Castro street fair so things were crazy outside, yet their back door patio still felt peaceful. Great backdrop to the meal! The food was excellent. I got the cured ocean trout Benedict and was wowed by the color of the trout! Super vibrant and tasty fresh. The greens was a tasty compliment, and the eggs were cooked perfectly, but my biggest surprise was their delicious bread underneath. Seemed like homemade focaccia bread! Also the banana bread French toast is to die for. Get an order or two for the table. A bit too sweet and small for a main dish, but a perfect end of meal sweet treat. I'll definitely be back!

Fable is a fantastic little restaurant with an outdoor garden sitting area! There are only a few seats inside. The brunch menu had a wide range of options! The salads were extremely fresh and vibrant. All the food we had was excellent quality! The servers were kind, one even offering to move where we were sitting because the sun was in our eyes! The food and drinks came out quickly. Will definitely be going back!

We wanted to have a ronantic dinner in the Castro District to celebrate my husband's birthday. Stumbled upon Fable on Yelp. The heated outdoor garden like Patio seating lured us in. We started with their steamed Mussells w/ Sausage, that was really good. I had to scoop off the renai g broth as it was so yummy. Then Tyler orderd the 10 oz. NY steak. The only Negative was that it came with battered onion rings which kinda cheapened the $42 steak. I had the Braised Pork Shank which was Perfection. Had their Brioche Bread Pudding w/ Caramel sauce. Also good. But what really gained our attention is our server DYLAN, very welcoming always had a smile on his face. We're already planning my Birthday dinner for 10-12 people to be held there.

Brunchin' in the Garden Vibes! First time at Fable and I can totally see why it's a fave for so many. We came for brunch and only waited about 10 minutes before being seated on the back patio...so cute! Great atmosphere, perfect weather, and loved the garden vibe! I came with my daughter who's basically a Fable regular. She swears by their Eggs Benedict, and honestly, next time I'll follow her lead. I ordered the Chilaquiles, and... meh. It was not it. Didn't hit the spot or cure the craving. Wouldn't recommend them, but I'm not mad about it either. Shoutout to our server, super friendly, attentive, and really kept the good vibes flowing. I'll definitely be back, just ordering something different!

Fable is a lovely restaurant in the Castro Love the patio, especially on a warm sunny day. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad for a quick lunch. Very tasty. The service was very fast and friendly. The menu has a bit of everything for everyone. A good option if you are in the area

I discovered Fable on Yelp when looking for a lunch spot not too far from Twin Peaks. The garden seating looked beautiful and street parking was easy to find nearby. When we arrived, the garden area was full so we were seated at one of the tables out front - less vibey, but good for people watching. For drinks, they had a few zero-proof wines, so I decided to try the non-alc Sauvignon Blanc. It was a little sweet for me, but still tasty. For food, I ordered the Fried Rocky Jr. Organic Chicken Sandwich. There was some confusion because I asked for no savoy cabbage/sweet pepper slaw, but was given no side salad instead. I was starving, so I ended up just eating the sandwich as is. I wasn't a huge fan of the slaw, but I liked the flavor of the chipotle aoili and the soft brioche bun. The chicken itself was pretty good, although I could've done with thinner breading. My friend got the Buttermilk Biscuits and Pork Sausage Gravy and my grandma chose the Nicoise Salad with Striped Bass. Both dishes were good, but nothing special. Service was friendly, (although a little on the slower side), but pricing was very reasonable. Overall, solid for lunch!

    Cool decor.

Great pre-Thanksgiving meal at Fable. Such a cool back garden environment. Well heated. Service was friendly and fast. And food was delicious. Really great.

Super charming covered patio space! We had such a nice dinner here - service was friendly, food was great, they set up a heater so we were comfortable and there was a nice vibe here. Make sure to make a reservation!

Is Fable a kid friendly place I have my husband, myself, our 18 year old, and our 11 year old)? I'm trying to plan a birthday dinner for my husband.

Yup!!! It is a perfect place to eat if you want a kid friendly place!!! Hope your husband loves it!!

Is there a reservation fee for a party of 8 or more on the weekends?

hello, I'm so sorry but I sadly don't know. You could ask some workers if there is any fee or you could talk to the manager, sorry

Would my emotional support cat be permitted to join our brunch party?

    Absolutely!

Can we bring dogs for the outdoor patio?

Yes! The patio is dog friendly

Can I bring my 15 year old son?

    Yes

How far ahead to make a reservation?

Weekends book out at least a week in advance but we do offer walk in seating everyday of the week at our front Parklet.

I made reservations for outdoor? What's the difference between standard and outdoor?

Definitely recommend making reservations outdoors. Indoors is quaint and private but the real star of this place is definitely the patio. It's so cute!

Currently, do they still feature heated lamps?

    Yes

Has anyone ever seen dogs on the garden patio?..Fable says they are dog friendly but I can't seem to find any reviews on this so I think it's a bit odd.

Yes! We brought our dog here and they were good with it!

The Ice Cream Bar is popular, so prepare for a wait since they take the time and care to make your order. It's located on a nice block with street parking, but it's also a busy area in general and probably easier to walk to. They have menus and a small seating area outside. Inside is a great throwback to 30s/40s art decor style, with the main ice cream counter to the right and the actual bar at the back. They have different ice creams available by the scoop in a cold dish, or opt for a made-daily waffle cone. They have classic toppings as well. Once you order, you pay towards the back. The bar area itself offers alcohol, perfect for a Guinness float or to add a little something extra to a milkshake or sundae. Prices are reasonable for the quality. The servers were so welcoming and eager to please with special requests as well. If you're an ice cream fan, this one is worth coming to enjoy.

Oh-em-gee-times-ten....I was either REALLY hungry or the dish was THAT good! (it was that good!). The serving was generous and satisfying and was accompanied with salad greens tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. I am salivating as I write this. Son - breakfast burrito. He liked it. It was simple: scrambled eggs, bacon in a spinach tortilla. His young age did not help his appreciation of a green tortilla, so.....he only ate half Daughter - granola, fruit, yogurt parfait. She demolished it and enjoyed every bite. And, even carried her leftovers with her (all day, might I add) and ate them for breakfast in the hotel the next morning. To supplement their meals I ordered a side of toast and roasted potatoes. We ate with gusto! My cappuccino (which I only seem to order when I'm in San Francisco) was delicious and gave me enough energy to walk those hills with ease. My party of four came without a reservation, so we were seated along the wall against a small countertop area. It wasn't the most comfortable setting for a group hangout. I'd recommend making a reservation in advance. Space is a bit small so seating is limited. Ambiance is a vibe though. Cute and chic little wine bar in a central location. Between the four of us, we ordered the bread/butter, ceviche, Dungeness crab garlic noodles, and the Wagyu dog to share. We also got a bottle of their Lambrusco. The stars of the show were definitely the wine and the garlic noodles. I wouldn't recommend sharing the Wagyu dog as it got a bit messy. Everything was definitely overpriced, and portions were small. We had to order takeout from another restaurant afterwards to satiate our hunger lol. I'm glad I tried this spot but would only recommend stopping by if you're not very hungry or are just looking for some small snacks before an actual dinner.
