We finally were able to stop by for lunch. Wonderful cafe. Volunteers are very helpful and explained everything to us. Food was really delicious - especially the soup! You pay either the suggested donation or a bit more or you volunteer. Great idea - everyone eats!

Veggie pattie, salad with ranch, seafood chowder/bisque, crumble

FARM cafe is fresh, delicious and supports a great mission! My family and I came back almost every day during our vacation - I wish they would publish a cookbook, I loved the fresh, inventive local cuisine.

Fantastic food and exceptional service. I'm blown away by the mission of this restaurant. Can't be beat - 95% food sourced from local farms, fresh and healthy food, feeding people regardless of ability to pay. I was moved by the generosity of it all and that no compromise was made around quality of meal and service. Well done, FARM, thank you for setting an example for what's possible in the food industry when we seek to be intentional. Triple bottom line - we all do better when we all do better. Thank you!!

Medium plate with curried chicken breast, green beans, rice, lentil soup and baklava cake for desert.

The food here is so good. Price is great... They do tend to skimp on portion size sometimes but just ask for more.

The motto of FARM is Feed All Regardless of Means but don't expect that to mean they skimp on quality.

I had a lovely afternoon tea at The Book & Bee last year (2025), so I would give this place four to…read morefive stars for that experience alone. I tried to go back this year, and am so appalled by the customer service (or lack thereof) that I will now give it 0 stars, so settled for two since I can't do two and a half. Yes, the food and ambiance were wonderful in 2025. I tried to book another afternoon tea party and called a month and a half in advance. This was to celebrate multiple birthdays with a group of busy moms so wanted to get it on the calendar. No one called me back despite the voicemail saying that we would hear back "promptly." I left two more messages in a span of two, three weeks and still nothing. I even emailed, no response. Finally, a friend stopped by in person and was told that the cafe would be short staffed the weekend we wanted the reservation for so the manager needs to see if there are enough people working before confirming. Okay....but why wouldn't you call back to tell me that? Our requested reservation is tomorrow and I still have not heard back from anyone. This is abysmal customer service. As mentioned, food was good but not good enough to treat potential customers like this. Hard pass from now on and will not go back or recommend. *Editing to respond to Victoria -- those were the dates I called and left voicemails. Perhaps there was a phone issue on your end, but I did not even get a missed call. My friend who stopped by in person spoke to a manager. She had to go by twice due to the manager not being available the first time. I also did not get an email response.

Terrible..the scones were more like a tiny triangle of cake. Which was the first disappointment. My…read morecottage shepherds pie was cold and certainly was not baked as described. Tasteless. They did microwave it to boiling point. The atmosphere was nice. But most uncomfortable, was the waitress she was surly and rude. Didn't know how to smile. She did not belong in a cute tea room. Will never return. Go to Pisgah Bake House if you want an amazing scone!

I realized after shopping here that they are at a new location due to Hurricane Helene. I'm unsure…read moreif their current location is permanent, but they are currently located at 311 NW US 25 70 HWY, Hot Springs, NC 28743. This was one of very few small businesses that had yet to reopen when we visited. So we wanted to stop in and show our support by buying some gifts and a cup of tea. Still in the process of reestablishing, their new space is coming along nicely. Lots of pretty jewelery, trinkets, crystals, various gifts and even a small selection of plants. It appears that multiple talented artisans sell their work here. I've wanted a Rose of Jericho for a long time, but had resisted buying one so far. There are reports that much of what is available on the market has been poached from wildlife. But when one of the owners noticed my interest in them, he told me how when they were finally allowed to come back after the hurricane, they opened the door to their flooded shop to see all the Rose Of Jerichos alive and floating in the water. "I knew right then that we were going to be ok." I was sold and will cherish mine, with this sentiment attached. I also bought myself a new little Pilea for my Fairy Garden, some beautiful earrings, and a handful of gifts for my loved ones. I snagged a hot tea as I paid for purchases and then used their clean restroom before we headed out into the wilderness for the day. This seems to be another favorite amongst the Appalachian Trail pack, and I can see why. Im looking forward to coming back later in the season and seeing their progress in rebuilding.
