Highly recommend stopping in for breakfast either to dine in or take to go! Parking was easy and the seating is ample inside, with everyone being friendly and helpful with ordering. I wanted a quick chicken biscuit to go and found myself in heaven with the very simple breaded chicken patty with mayo between a homemade flaky biscuit. It was the perfect pick me up I needed to make the drive home from visiting the mountains. I will definitely be back to explore the menu next time I'm in town! read more

This place was great! Marlene was super nice and attentive. The biscuit was so good I forgot to take a photo until I had eaten half. Definitely one of the best biscuits I have had. Least People think I haven't been back here, but I have many times. It still is the best kept secret secret even with its outstanding rating. Awesome to find this nostalgic drug store cafe! I had the most delicious grilled pimento cheese sandwich. The pimento cheese is homemade. Hamburger, BLT, Fries, and onion rings were tasty. Not sure about all these rave reviews. Maybe it's geared to locals only but I felt out of place and felt a bad vibe. While the service was fine, the food was very mediocre. My Mom ordered the potato soup which she did not eat as it tasted like water. I had a salad and can't remember the last time I had an iceberg lettuce salad. Very disappointing. This may be one of the best places to feel at home and have a meal that feels like moms. First, you won't stumble on this place. It is inside of a small rural pharmacy and that adds to the charm. I drove by 4-5 times and never noticed it. I'm so glad I found it online. I came in for breakfast and stayed 2 1/2 hours surrounded by some of the nicest and most remarkable locals. The service, food, conversation and charm were all 5 stars. The food is home cooked with love. I couldn't decide. Back in time to the 50's. This small diner in the back of a pharmacy has been open since the 1950's and is literally unchanged. the green seats and lighting are all vintage. Cute place with friendly staff. We ordered the pancakes they were big and fluffy. Also ordered eggs with toast and sausage. Basic nothing special hash brown was just a warmed up frozen Patty. I tried this spot out twice over the weekend, once for lunch and again at breakfast the next day. Smiling faces, friendly folks, and very tasty food! Burger and dogs were spot on, and the homemade chili was exceptional! French toast with powder sugar was a hit with my son. My wife had the sawmill gravy and biscuits, and I built my own sandwich with crispy liver mush, LTM, cheese, and a country scrambled egg...all of which were very good. Prices were very reasonable and we'll definitely be back!!! Almost forgot, in addition to the great place for grub...get your meds refilled at Peoples pharmacy while you're there and shop the local crafts and goodies located in their decor barn. Wow what can I say, this place is a true gem and a flash back to times long gone. Ordered the double cheeseburger and it was amazing! So large that I couldn't eat it all so order with that in mind. Tater tots as a side were good, nothing over the top. Someone beside me at the counter ordered what looked to be a potato cake which looked excellent. Great breakfast. Clean, real plates and utensils. Friendly neighborhood spot located in a drugstore. The drugstore can be closed and the restaurant be open (breakfast). Walk into the dark drugstore and make a right to get to the cafe. Booths and counter seats. Waitstaff take your order quickly. I'll return as often as I can. read more

Tucked away in the peoples drug store is a quaint diner, with a small local home town feel where we had breakfast after harvesting this years Christmas tree. The whole family enjoyed their food and the the waitress shared memories of her childhood. I personally consumed a two pancake, two eggs (scrambled) meal that I found delightful. Smallish menu on the board on the wall, but plenty enough choices to please everyone. My husband and I had grilled chicken breast. It was seasoned just right! A friend with us had the fried flounder strips and enjoyed those. A regular customer and I were both eyeing the last piece of butterscotch pie, she asked for it first and the kind kind lady halved it with me. Part of the pharmacy is booths for individuals to sell goods. There were many nice things available. If we're ever in the area again, we'll go back. read more

A little tricky to find but so worth it! We went for breakfast and got omelets and grits and it was amazing. It is in the People's Drug Store in the back. My wife had the pot roast, which is excellent. I had the meatloaf, which hands-down is the best meatloaf I've ever had. It was not greasy, it was not slathered in ketchup. It had a great flavor, and there was even a little char around the edge of the meatloaf, which gave it added texture that is just phenomenal. Fun fact: there are two locations about a block away from each other. One is the restaurant where you can get all of their beers, and a full menu. That is where we went. The other one is the brau haus, which is basically mostly beer and some food, I.e. pizza.

My wife, being more sensible ordered a one scoop waffle cone and still it was a lot of ice cream. The ice cream was extremely creamy and for some reason it was slow to melt. It appears to have little over run (air) which in my opinion, contributes to it's texture and creamy consistency. My butter pecan had pieces of pecan along with the buttery flavor that you would expect. My wife had deer tracks with big chunks of excellent chocolate.
